Woolverton, Stephanie Denise (McCoy)

Stephanie Denise McCoy Woolverton, age 37, of Clinton, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. She was born on October 13, 1974 in Kileen, Texas, a daughter of James Dyirl McCoy and Rosie Lee Payne Swaffar.

She is survived by her father, James D. McCoy and his wife, Barbara of Morrilton; her mother, Rosie Swaffar and her husband, William of Overcup; husband Ray Woolverton of Woolverton Mountain; two sons, Christopher and Dyirl Woolverton of Woolverton Mountain; grandmother, Lou Lynn McCoy of Sardis; brother, James McCoy of Overcup; four step brothers, Jack, John, Jessie Moll and Jeff Swaffar; two sisters, Misi McCoy of Overcup, Angel Maxwell of Greenbrier; four step sisters, Amelia McMillan, Jo Hanna Hall, Mary and Laura Swaffar.

Wooten, Dorothy (Coley)

Dorothy Coley Wooten, 84, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016. She was born November 4, 1931, in Atkins, AR to Clay Coley and Zora Cross Coley.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister; six brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Howard Wooten; five children, Andy Scissell, Karen Scissell, Connie Gurney, Van Wooten, Nathan Gurney; special granddaughter and care-giver, Dondie Allen; fourteen grandchildren; twenty- five great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Eoff; two brothers, Don Coley, Tony Coley and numerous other Cross & Coley family members.

Wootton, Connie M.

Connie M. Wootton, age 65, of Dardanelle, AR, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, AR. She was born February 4, 1938 in Sheridan, AR to the late Bedford and Berta Anderson Owens. She was a homemaker and mother and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wootton; two brothers, Infant Owens and Bobby Lee Owens.

She is survived by a son, Robert D. Wootton of Dardanelle; two daughters, Vickie Vasquez and Donna Wootton both of Dardanelle, AR; three brothers, Donnie, Delman and David Owens all of Sheridan; four sisters, Sadie Lawson of Pine Bluff, Marie Winston and Nelda Owens both of Sheridan and Linda Schales of Donaldson, AR and a grandson, Andrew Greene of Dover.

Service will be Wednesday, January 28 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle with Rev. Jay Dockins, Rev. Robert Adams and Rev. James Lowe officiating. Sam Wootton, age 64, of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at St. Mary's Reg. Ctr. in Russellville. He was born December 7, 1938 at Charleston, AR, to the late Tandy and Rebecca Sebourn Wootton. He was a truck driver for Tyson Foods, Inc.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Ernest, Golman, and R. C. Wootton, and 1 sister, Marilyn Horn.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Connie Owens Wootton of Dardanelle; one son, Robert Wootton of Dardanelle; 2 daughters, Donna Wootton of Dardanelle, Vickie Vasquez of Ola; 3 brothers, John Wootton of White Hall, AR, Pat Wootton of Benton, AR and J. B. Wootton of Paris, AR; 1 sister, Ruby Burris of Perryville, AR and 1 grandson, Andrew Greene.

Services were Friday, December 5, 2003 at First Assembly of God in Dardanelle with the Rev. Jay Dockins officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Word, Jim

Jim Word, age 69, a native of Dardanelle, died February 3, 1960 in a Russellville hospital. He had been active in civic and church affairs in Dardanelle for many years and served as principal of the Dardanelle High School 22 years before his retirement about five years ago. He was formerly a member of the Yell County Board of Education and the Yell County Library Board. He was a former bridge commissioner and chairman of the board of deacons of the Baptist church. He had taught the Men's Bible class 10 years.

Worrall, Thomas Benjamin

Thomas Benjamin Worrall of Buena Park, California died December 10, 2002. He was born October 15, 1925 in Brookland, AR to the late Thomas Frederick and Theresa Josephine Klutzke Worrall. Thomas was a World War II Navy veteran having served in the Pacific aboard the USS Bushnell. After he was discharged, he attended Arkansas Technical College in Russellville, AR, where he met and married Dorothy Craig, daughter of the late John and Catherine Brumley Craig in 1947. In 1950, Thomas graduated from Oklahoma A&M with a degree in Agricultural Education. In Sargent, Nebraska he taught modern agriculture methods to returning war veterans via on the job training. In 1955, he moved with his wife and children to Lakewood, CA. They resided there for 25 years before moving to Buena Park, CA in 1979. He was employed by Untied States Gypsum (USG) for 31 years. He was a Quality Supervisor and "chief troubleshooter" for the firm. During his tenure at USG, he traveled extensively throughout the country. After he retired, he enjoyed being always available to his family. He took great pride in his vegetable garden. In his spare time, he worked many crossword puzzles, the harder the better, and he was an avid reader. Tom frequently traveled to Arkansas with his wife, Dorothy, ostensibly to visit family but in reality, to get in as much fishing time at the river as he could manage. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and a good friend. The whole family appreciated his wacky and "off the wall" sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. He died of bacterial pneumonia and heart failure.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Craig Worrall and three daughters and son-in-laws, Catherine and Gary Peterson of Garden Grove, CA, Connie and Dan Maltby of Placentia, CA and Christine and Mike Wilson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; five grandchildren, David and racy Peterson of Fullerton, CA, Jason Bickal of Anaheim, CA; Erin Peterson of Mountain View, CA and Theresa and Michelle Wilson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; five great grandchildren, Tori Ann, Dale Thomas, and Julie Peterson, Adrianna, Andrew and Faith Bickal. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Worrall of Texarkana, TX and his brother, Patrick Worrall of Atlanta and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jordis Irene Worrell, age 3, of Dover went to be in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at her home. She was born March 8, 2008 at Dover to Simon Edward Worrell, Jr and Melissa Ann Bewley.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Simon Edward "Eddie" Worrell Sr and Boyd Bewley.

Survivors include her father, Simon Worrell, Jr; her mother, Melissa Worrell; brothers and sisters, Dixie, Kathryn, Braxton, Truman, Liberty, Gretchen, Richard and Tiffany Worrell; grandmother and grandfather, Robert and Susana Bewley of Dover; great grand- parents, Kathryn Bewley of Russellville, Stanley and Betty Griffin of Cove.

Worrell, Simon Edward "Eddie"

Simon Edward "Eddie" Worrell, Sr. age 63, of Belleville, AR died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in Waldron, AR on December 14, 1943. He was an Army Veteran, truck driver and worked for L&K Pumping.

He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Eli Worrell.

Survivors include his mother, Jewell Hart of Mt. Ida, AR; a son Simon E. Worrell, Jr. of Dover, AR; a daughter, Leeann Showier of Conway, AR; special friend, Lois Troska of Havana, AR and nine grandchildren.

Aubrey Worsham, 39, died at his home at Centerville, April 19.

Worsham, Floy Elizabeth "Betty"

Floy Elizabeth "Betty" Worsham, 81, of Denton, Texas left this world on May 24, 2005 after losing her battle with leukemia. She was born November 14, 1923 in Ola, AR to Benjamin Franklin and Floy Elizabeth (Dixon) James. She was married to Macklynn Duane Worsham on June 1, 1944 in Tampa, FL. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ola, AR.

She is preceded in death by a brother Frank James, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Macklynn Duane Worsham of Denton, TX; daughters, Vicky Vawter of Denton, TX, Judy Harshaw of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Worsham, Herbert Elbert "Bert"

The funeral of Mr. Herbert Elbert Worsham, aged 60 years, who passed away Monday, October 15th, 1951, at his home in Oxnard, Calf., was held in the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle at 2:00 o'clock last Sunday afternoon, the service being conducted by the Pastor, Rev. M. O. Cockerham. Mr. Worsham suffered a heart attack and collapsed on the street in Oxnard. He was taken to St. John's Hospital in that city, but death ensued a few days later. Mr. Worsham was a son of the late Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Worsham, of Centerville, where he was born, and where he spent his life until moving to California about three and a half years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Mae Worsham; one son, Jack Worsham, of Centerville; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Valentine, of Cecil, Ark., and Mrs. Dorothy Bailey, of Lonoke, Ark.; one brother, Lester Worsham, of Centerville; and five grandchildren. Mr. Worsham was respected and admired by a host of friends here who were deeply shocked and grieved to learn of his sudden death. The remains were laid to rest in the Dacus Cemetery. Jack E. Worsham, 93, of Ozark, Arkansas died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Ozark. He was a member of the Baptist faith and retired lineman for AP&L. He was born June 27, 1921 in Centerville, Arkansas to Elbert and Lora Mauldin Worsham.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Suggs Worsham, one daughter Joyce Worsham, and one sister Helen Valentine.

He is survived by his friend Freda Diffee, one son, Mike Worsham and wife Cathy of Belleville, Arkansas, one daughter, Sherry Ann McCulloch and husband Michael of Sacramento, California; one sister Dorothy Bailey of Lone Oak, Arkansas; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Dacus Cemetery in Magazine, Arkansas with Pastor Bob Caldwell officiating. Worsham, Macklynn Duane

Macklynn Duane Worsham, 82, of Denton, TX, left this world on August 19, 2005 after losing his battle with cancer. He was born February 28, 1923 in Centerville, AR to Ray and Zona (George) Worsham. He was married to Floy Elizabeth "Betty" James on June 1, 1943 in Tampa, FL (she died May 24, 2005). He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII where he fought in the Normandy, Northern France and Germany Campaigns. He was awarded three Bronze stars for Normandy, Northern France, and the Purple Heart for being wounded in action in Germany on January 14, 1945. He worked at Stebbins and Roberts Paint Company in Little Rock, AR for over thirty years, after living in Fort Worth he moved to Bryan-College Station and bought Chapman's Paint Company and operated that business until he retired. After retirement he moved to Denton to be closer to his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicky Vawter of Denton, TX, Judy Harshaw of Knoxville, TN three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Monday, August 22, 2005 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Dr. Jim Porter officiated the service. Arrangements by Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Gwin Harshaw, Jeff Vawter, Jeff Wilholt, Robert Krause. Honorary pallbearer was Dr. Gordon Worsham. Worsham, Nannie E.

Mrs. Nannie E. Worsham, age 84, a former resident of Russellville, died December 21, 1985 at her home in Conway She was the widow of Aubrey Worsham, who died in 1940. She was a retired nurse for Hendrix College, where she was employed from 1952 to 1967. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Conway.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. A. G. Worsham of Dallas, Texas, and Gene Worsham of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. June Standley of Conway and Mrs. Ruth Emmert of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Lorene Chitwood of Conway and Gustava Aulgur of Lebanon, Term.; 12 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this afternoon at McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral will be at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, December 24, at McNutt Chapel by the Rev. Douglas Edwards and the Rev. Thelma Worsham, age 82, of Belleville, AR died Friday, September 27, 2002 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. She was born October 5, 1919 at Harkeys Valley, the daughter of the late Madison and Mary Ellen Dacus Suggs. She was a Free Will Baptist.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Worsham; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Kathy Worsham of Belleville; a daughter and son in-law, Sherry & Michael McCullough of Auburn, CA; three grandchildren, Michelle Gates, Byron Brennan and Emily Eckert and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Zona Worsham, age 82, of Bryan, Texas, formerly from Centerville, Arkansas, died November 28, 1980 in the Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Bryan, Texas. Mrs. Worsham was born April 25, 1898 at Mt. George in Yell County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Daisy Yarbrough George. She was a housewife, a retired merchant, a member of the First Methodist Church in Danville, and lifetime member of the Ola Eastern Star.

Survivors include one son, M. D. "Red" Worsham of Bryan, Texas; two granddaughters, Mrs. Gwin Harshaw of Jackson, Mississippi and Mrs. Jack Vawter of Denton, Texas, also a number of nephews and nieces and three great grandchildren.

Wright Sr, Tommye J.

Tommye J. Wright, Sr. 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. He was retired from Railway Express after 30 years, coached the Rosedale Optimist Little League team, and was the leader of Boy Scout Pack 55. Tommye was a member of Masonic Lodge 641 in Plainview, AR, for over 50 years, belonged to the Leola Hunting Club, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and sportsman.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Jo Rowland Wright; his son, Tommye, Jr.; daughter, Lou Ann; and granddaughter, Ashley Stokes and husband, Patrick, all of Little Rock. Preceding him in death were his parents, John C. and Laura Ryan Wright, and brother, Bobby John Wright.

Wright, Bernice "Bee" (Elliott) (Mrs.)

Funeral for Mrs. Bernice "Bee" Wright, 60, of Paris, who died Thursday, was Monday in the First Baptist Church at Paris by Rev. Harold White. She was a native of Mena. She and her husband, Paul Wright, had operated the Mt. Magazine Lodge for 14 summers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Business Women's Circle, Church Scholarship Committee, Town and Country Garden Club and the B&PW Club. She organized the first Girl Scout troop in Paris in 1947 and was still active in Girl Scout leadership.

Survivors include her husband, two brothers, Wyley Elliott of Paris and Jack Elliott of Idaho.

Bradley Kent Wright, age 22, died Saturday, June 12, 1999 in Rogers, AR. He was born May 22, 1977 in Stuttgart, AR to Chester Wright and Janet Burt. He moved to Bentonville from Atkins, AR in 1985 and graduated from Bentonville High School in 1995. In his senior year he wrote the following essay "If my goals are achieved, I will have lived a full life. I do not want to have any regrets. He was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers and sisters.

Edith Estelle Wright, age 90, of Booneville, Arkansas died October 3, 2002 in a Booneville nursing home. She was a mother and grandmother and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Booneville.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Ed Walker.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Reba Austin and Alma LeCompte of Booneville; 2 sons, Bill and Wayne Cobb of Bonneville; 3 sisters, Lucille Wineland of Ozark, AR, Florence Rego of Ft. Wright, Harold Dean

Harold Dean Wright, age 38 of Plainview, died Friday, September 18, 1987, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a native of Truro. Iowa, a truck driver for the Kenneth Kenney Logging Co. a veteran of the Viet Nam War, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Trustee of the VFW post 8525, member of the Plainview City Council, member of the 4 Military Order of the Cootie, The Honor Degree of the VFW and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Miller Vess Wright; his parents, Howard and Charolette Wright of Truro, Iowa; two step-sons, Keith Vess of Orange Park, FL and Kenneth Vess of Rover; one stepdaughter, Debra Dale Hawkins of Russellville; one sister Tresa Cook of Truro, Iowa; two nephews and seven step-grandchildren.

Wreck injuries fatal to motorist ROVER - Harold Dean Wright, age 38, of Plainview (Yell County) died Friday of injuries he suffered September 10 when the logging truck he was driving struck a horse north of Rover (Yell County), authorities said. Wright, a truck driver for the Kenneth Kenney Logging Company, was northbound on Highway 28 a few miles from the Rover city limits. The horse, which was in the middle of the highway, was killed, a spokesman for the Yell County sheriff's office said. Wright served on the Plainview City Council and was a Baptist, a Vietnam war veteran, a member and trustee of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Military Order of the Cooties.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Jane Miller Wright; two stepsons, Keith Vess of Orange Park, Fla. and Kenneth Vess of Rover (Yell County); a stepdaughter, Debra Dale Hawkins of Russellville; his parents, Howard and Charlotte Wright of Truro, LA; a sister, Tresa Cook of Truro, and seven grandchildren.

Haskell Marion Wright of Booneville, age 89, passed away, March 12, 1999 in a Booneville Hospital. He was a retired Car Salesman and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Boonville.

Paul Wright, 61, of Paris, operator of Mt. Magazine Lodge, died Thursday in a Paris hospital after a short illness. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paris. Wright, manager of the lodge, had been ill since his wife, Mrs. Bea Wright, died July 6. Mr. Wright was a native of Mena and formerly lived at Plainview.

Wright, Willie Marian

Willie Marian Wright, age 92, of Booneville, AR formerly of Upper Spring Creek and Wilson Community, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2000 in her home on Sixth Street. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Parkview Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and played piano until her health failed her in her mid-80's. She was a wonderful music teacher and taught expression of many years. She was a devoted Christian mother, wife and friend to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and LaVona Sory Humphrey, five sisters, her husband, Haskell Wright and two sons-in-law, A. C. Tygart and Loyd Wayne Bowen.

She is survived by, two daughters, Wendy Tygart and Carolyn Bowen both of Booneville, AR; three grandchildren, Dr. Mike Tygart of Arkadelphia, AR, Dr. Phil Tygart or Sheridan, AR and Karan Tygart Ghassimi of Booneville; six great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Martin Luther Wright of Satellite Beach, FL, a special "apple of her eye" Roberta Easterling, her loving care givers for the past 7 years, Joy Terry and Lynn Brewer and families and many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

At about 12:00 p.m. earth time, October 11, 2014,Thelma M. "Windy" Wrisinger saw Jesus face to face and he was so beautiful it took her breath away. She was born April 11, 1939 in Gilkey, AR to the late Cornelious & Maggie White Bryant. She retired after 17 years for General Motors.
