Willhite, Tommy Lee

Tommy Lee Willhite, son of Peggy Willhite Rogers and stepfather Eugene Obar, was born December 24, 1960 in Crawford County, Arkansas. He departed this life March 17, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife: Sandy Willhite of the home; three sons: Tommy Joe Willhite and wife Ashley of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Michael Willhite of Phoenix, Arizona and Jimmy Willhite of Violet Hill; his mother: Peggy Rogers of Melbourne; two brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and several in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Eugene Obar.

Graveside funeral service was held Thursday, March 20 at 2:00 pm at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Williams, Carol Sue "Peggy" (Swain)

Carol Sue "Peggy" Williams, age 79, of Danville passed away Thursday May 7, 2015 at her home. Peggy was born May 4, 1936 in Scotland, Arkansas to the late Thomas Ray & Dorthy Dunsworth Swain. She was a clerk supervisor for the Arkansas Department of Health. She loved watching sports especially tennis, and loved going to the horse races. She was a loving and caring woman who always wanted to give rather than receive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kylie Williams; grandson, Greg Hall; sister, Patsy James.

Carrie D. Storment Williams, age 23, died May 11, 2000 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Van Buren. She was born November 2, 1976 in Dardanelle, AR to Billie Joe and Debbie Grace Storment. She was a homemaker and mother. She graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1995 and in 1999 received an associate degree in medical assistance from Arkansas Tech University.

Charles Edward "Chuck" Williams, 64, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at his home in Vista. He was born June 25, 1942, in Nimrod, Arkansas; he lived in Vista for 39 years. He owned and operated North County Roof Co. for 34 years. He enjoyed bass fishing.

Williams, Christine Parker

Christine Parker Williams, 84, of Stuttgart died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Williams was born August 18, 1924, in Cardon Bottoms, Ark., to Holly and Viola Weldon Parker. She was a homemaker, member of Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and Eastern Star, and enjoyed camping and traveling.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James T. Williams; and two brothers.

Survivors are John Keeling; and nieces and nephews, Ed Parker of Houston, Texas, Doug Parker and Susan Herrald of Hot Springs, Ark., Lea Ann Rodchester of Strickler, Ark., Kenneth Parker of Bella Vista, Ark., and Keith Parker of Woodlawn, Ark.

Williams, Curtis A.

Curtis A. Williams, age 71, died at his home on Chickalah Mtn. April 19. He was a retired farmer and cattleman and was the son of Dow and Eva Haney williams of El Dorado.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Madden Williams; two sons, Duane of Russellville and Durell of Napa, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two aunts, Mrs. Willie Goodwin of El Dorado and Mrs. Georgia Dumas of Wichita Falls, Tex.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Harold Hall at the Free Will Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Interment was at the Mountain Springs Cemetery. Dr. David M. Williams, age 79, of Danville and Russellville, died Monday, April 9, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

Williams, David M. (Dr.)

Dr. David M. Williams, age 79, of Danville and Russellville, AR died Monday, April 9, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A son of the late Samuel Williams and the late Harriet Snelling Williams, he was born October 19, 1921 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He attended Garner High School (White County), Arkansas State Junior College in Beebe and graduated from Hendrix College in Conway. He attended Hendrix on the GI Bill. He obtained his M. D. degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine on June 11, 1951, and did his internship at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center and Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock from 1951 through 1953. He began practicing medicine in 1953 with Dr. John D. Wright in Russellville and was joined by Dr. Doug Lowrey in 1956. He practiced until his retirement in 1993. He served in the Arkansas National Guard at the outbreak of World War II. His unit was activated and sent to Seward, Alaska, where he served throughout the war. He was active in the First Baptist Church in Russellville where he was a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon and Chairman of the Building Committee for the building of the current sanctuary. He served as Chairman of the Board for St. Mary's Hospital for fifteen years, as Chief of Staff for a number of years, and on the Regional Board of AMI, a prior owner of St. Mary's. He was the prime fund-raiser to establish the current location of the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center and participated in Project Head Start. His last volunteer project was performing physicals to low income children enrolled in the Head Start program, traveling over nine counties and assisted the staff in developing stronger health components for children and their parents. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by, his wife, Jo Ann Williams; three sons and daughters-in-law, David H. and Sammie Williams, Scott and Beth Williams and Craig Williams all of Little Rock, AR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Mike McCoy and Jeannie and Tom Parker all of Russellville, AR; two stepdaughters, Tamara Breland and Ginger Haney both of Fayetteville, AR; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles P. and Betty Williams of Midlothian, VA; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Laverne Price Hodges and husband, Steve Hodges of Pansy, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burlin S. Brewer; a brother, J. D. Kisling and a great-grandson, Nathanael J. Furr.

Williams, Ernest I.

Ernest I. Williams, Sr. age 85 of Malvern, Arkansas passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003 in a Little Rock hospital. He was born June 27, 1917 in Havana, Arkansas to the late Lelan J. Williams, Sr. and the late Nettie Clark Williams. He retired from Rock Island Railroad Company where he worked as a track foreman for 37 years. After his retirement from the railroad he was owner and operator of Williams Track Works. He was a member of the North Main Church of Christ and a 32degree Mason for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II and in 276 Signal Core in the Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dr. Ernest I. Williams, Jr. a brother, Lelan Williams, Jr. Cherishing his memory are a loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Elwanda Lucille McClesky Williams; a son, Robert "Bob" M. Evelyn Blevins Williams, age 88 of Dardanelle, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born October 25, 1919 at McCrory to the late Tredger Elton and Julian Myrtle Fowler Blevins. She retired as Business Manager from the Courier and was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waino Michael Williams and a brother, Earl Blevins.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Earl Williams of Memphis, TN, Michael Blevins Williams of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Wayne Waino Williams of Sedalia, MO; daughter, Sandra Evelyn Williams of Dardanelle; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Williams, Fently Roy

F.R. Williams died suddenly at his home in Plainview June 16 of heart troubles. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Leath Williams, one son Elmer, Kingston, three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Glassco, Norman, Ind., Mrs. Mande East, Geltonville, Ind., and Mrs. Anna Love, Norman, Ind., and several great grandchildren.

Mrs. Florence Allie Williams, age 87, died February 15, 1959 in St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She had lived most of her life in Dutch Creek Valley and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Williams, Frank

Frank Williams, age 48, a resident of Russellville, AR formerly of Ola, AR died Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born July 18, 1954, at Morrilton, AR to the late George and Reba Jewel Foster Williams. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Ola. He enjoyed raising German Shepherd dogs, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, George L. and Hank Williams.

Survivors include three brothers, O. J. Williams of Ola, AR, Jackie Dan Williams of Pottsville, AR and Leroy McGuire of Centerville, AR; a sister, Gladys Sue Phillips of Russellville, AR; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was November 25, 2002 at the Ola First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rick Balentine. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery at Ola under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Frank H. Williams, Jr. age 37, a resident of Russellville, AR. died Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock, AR. He was born on October 10, 1961 at Little Rock, AR. to Frank, Sr. and Exa Mae (Hyatt) Williams. He married Teresa R. (Bolinger) on January 5, 1985 at Calico Rock, AR. He was a retired minister with the American Baptist Association and was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church of Atkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Williams of Russellville; two brothers, Sam Williams of Perryville, AR. and Steve Williams of Grapevine, TX; one nephew, Dustin Williams of Grapevine, TX and several cousins.

Williams, Gertrude Downs

Gertrude Downs Williams, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR widow of James Leonard Williams died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at her home. She was born February 6, 1914 to the late Thomas Noah and Maude Swindle Downs. She graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1931 and was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 65 years.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Lamar Downs. She was a charter member of Dardanelle Business and Professional Women's Club, Order of Easter Star 589, Wesleyan Service Guild, Now United Methodist Women, serving as President and treasurer, XYZ Club First Methodist Church serving as treasurer and Dardanelle Book Club serving as treasurer. She was the first woman to be employed in the office of Fox Delux Food 1952 (later known as AVI, Valmac, Tasty Bird, now known as Tyson Foods), serving in the accounting department for nineteen years. She served in the Mayors office from 1971 to 1980 during the tenure of the late Henry Esch and then Dana Merritt.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Harry Hixon of Maumelle, AR; a grandson, Keith Burnett of Vilonia; two nieces, Betty Browning of Dardanelle and Nancy Gill of Novata, CA; five great nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews.

Williams, Jesse Milton (Rev.)

Rev. Jesse Milton Williams, 76, retired minister of the Methodist church, died at his home at Hartford, April 7. Admitted to the North Arkansas Conference in 1891, he served pastorates at many places, including Paris, Danville, and Plainview. He was superannuated in 1926. Four children survive: Mrs. I. R. Hill, Fayetteville, Mrs. B. M. Wilder, Little Rock, Gene Williams, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce at Helena, and Fred Williams, Oak Grove, la.
