Wilkerson, Boyce

Boyce Wilkerson, age 78, of Little Rock passed away June 21, 2004. He was born November 27, 1925, in Plainview, AR to John Woodrow Wilkerson and Lula Ellen Parker Wilkerson. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, an avid fan of books about WWII, where he was an Army Veteran, and loved gardening. He attended Hendrix University. He spent a long career in radio and was a live reporter for the Central High School Crisis for CBS Radio. He was known to listeners and colleagues in Little Rock and Pine Bluff as "Uncle B" or "Boyce The Voice" on KCLA in Pine Bluff and had a devoted following as host of the Classical music Hour on KMMK.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Future Vick Wilkerson.

He is survived by his son, Boyce Wayne Wilkerson, and his daughter, Patty Lindeman, and her husband, Bruce, all of Little Rock.

Funeral services were held June 25, 2004 at the Salem Cemetery in Plainview, AR with Reverend David Moore officiating. Mrs. Mary Wilkerson, age 93, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Moudy, at Belleville March 16, 1954 after a long illness.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Florence Moudy of Belleville, Mrs. Fannie McFarland of Boyce, La, and Mrs. Fred Rotter of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Lewis Wilkerson of Camdenton, Mo. and Will Wilkerson of Atwater, Calif; one brother, Johnnie Christian; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grand children. Wilkerson, Ray M.

Ray M. Wilkerson, Sr., age 75, of 425 Lindenhurst Drive, North Little Rock, a retired operator for Operating Engineers Local 382, died Tuesday, May 31. He was a former driver for Missouri Pacific Bus Transportation. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Engineer Local 382. Rosary was said at 7 p. m. on June 1st at North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Funeral was at 10 a. m. on June 2nd. by the Most Reverend Andrew J. McDonald, D. D. Bishop of the Diocese of Little Rock, Msgr. John B. Schefer, Reverend James E. Mancini, and Reverend Richard Oswald. Burial was at 3 p. m. in Salem Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Paulette Wilkerson; a son, Ray Skip Wilkerson, Jr. of Hot Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Hammons, of North Little Rock; a brother, Boyce Parker Wilkerson, of Little Rock; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Marguerite Wapelhorst, of Modesto. Wilkerson, Veda Jo (Sigler)

Veda Jo Wilkerson, age 79, of Chickalah died Sunday February 28, 2016, at Mitchells Nursing Home in Danville. She was born May 11, 1936, in Cedar Creek to the late Henry Clay and Ovie May Williams Sigler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Sable Wilkerson.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 51 years, Kenneth Wilkerson, sons, Larry Maxwell (Rose), Kenneth Wilkerson, Jr. (Judy), brother, Lee Sigler (Wanda), sisters, Dean Wilson and Sue Horn, grandchildren, James Maxwell (Holly), Carl Causin (Suzanne), Scott Maxwell (Amber), Cindy Barringer (Bobby), Pamela Luker (Colby), Josie Maxwell, Leon Wilkerson, hosts of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, loved ones and friends.

Deborah Kay Wilkett, age 42 of London died Monday, May 15, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1963 at San Jose, California to Earl E. Sr. and Shirley Flud Trimmer. She was a member of the East Point Baptist Church in London.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Wilkett of London; daughter, Tammy Pastor of Dardanelle; her parents, Earl E. Sr. and Shirley Trimmer; brother, Earl E. Trimmer, Jr. of London; sister, Sherrie Umberson of Cane Hill; three grandchildren, Julian Pastor, Elena Pastor and Gaudencio Pastor, Jr.

Wilkins Jr, Charles F. (Dr.)

Dr. Charles F. Wilkins, Jr., age 85, of Russellville, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Saint Marys Regional Medical Center. The eldest of 4 children, he was born March 16, 1921, to the Rev. Charles F. and Evie Elder Wilkins in Fort Worth, Texas. He was an honor graduate of Newport High School in Newport, Arkansas, graduated with honors with his Bachelor of Science degree from the Ouachita Baptist University in 1941, and graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 1949, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He enlisted in the United States Army to serve in World War II. He served in the, European Theatre in the 2nd Infantry Regiment of the 5th Infantry Division in Patton's 3rd Army. He received the Bronze Star for courage under fire, two Purple Hearts for wounds received in battle and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. In 1945 he married his college sweetheart, Joyce Aileen Brown, of England, Arkansas. After graduation from medical school he re-enlisted in the Army, and from 1949 through 1954 he served as a Medical Doctor in the Medical Service Corps at Walter Reed Hospital and Brooke Army Hospital and as a Clinical Medicine Instructor and Professor of Military Science at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. In 1955 he moved with his wife and four children, Wanda, Charles III, Laura and Mike, to Russellville. He was the first Board Certified Medical Specialist (Internal Medicine) in the Arkansas River Valley between Little Rock and Fort Smith and practiced medicine in Russellville at Millard-Henry Clinic. He helped start the nursing program at Arkansas Tech University, was the past President of the Pope-Yell County Medical Society, past Speaker of the House of Delegates of the Arkansas Medical Society, past President of the Arkansas Medical Society, the Arkansas Society of Internal Medicine and the Arkansas Heart Association, a member of the American College of Physicians, Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, past Chief of Staff of Saint Mary's Hospital in Russellville, past member of the Executive Committee of Saint Mary's Hospital, member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and past member of the Board of Trustees of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He was a member of Bakers Creek Baptist Church in Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-six years, Joyce; and a sister, Rebecca Marando.

Survivors include four children and their spouses, Wanda and Shelby Heflin of Russellville, Charles and Gail Wilkins of Houston, Texas, Laura and William Speer of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Mike and Teresa Wilkins of Russellville; two sisters, Annolee Russell of Jonesboro and Billye Sue Monk of Hope; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 2 P. M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Russellville, officiated by the Rev. Mackey Yokem. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, by Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Charles F. Wilkins IV of Washington, DC, Justin Wilkins of Benton, James Wilkins and Matt Wilkins, both of Conway, and Major Shelby A. Heflin Jr. serving with the United States Army in Iraq, represented by Chase Gipson, husband of granddaughter, Missy. Wilkins, Annette V.

Annette V. Wilkins, age 78, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, June 28, 2009. She was born January 12, 1931 in Bluefield, VA to Thaddeaus and Ann J. Bratton. She was a resident of the Dardanelle Nursing Home at the time of her death.

Survivors include her son, Thaddeus W. Wilkins and family of Russellville, AR; three granddaughters, Serina Wilkins and Monica Wilkins both of Indianapolis, IN and Michaela Wilkins of Tucson, AZ; great granddaughters Marian C. Cobbs of Tucson, AZ and several cousins and a host of friends.

Wilkins, Charles

Mr. Charles Wilkins, 73, who lived at Havana many years where he ran a general store but later went to Ft. Smith, and has since been running a grocery, died suddenly December 19. At Havana, Mr. Wilkins was successively alderman, recorder and mayor, and was a Mason. At Ft. Smith he was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church.

As this is written the funeral date awaits the arrival of all the survivors. The burial will be at Havana. Mr.

Charles E. Wilkins, Jr., age 89, of Havana, died Saturday at St. Mary's Medical Center in Russellville. He was born July 21, 1922 in Havana, Arkansas to the late Charles E. "Bill" Wilkins, Sr. and Bermel Swilling Wilkins. He was a teacher for Havana High School, a retired farmer, and a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Wilkins and his parents.

Faye Eloise Owens Wilkins, age 80, of Blue Ball passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1935, in Union Hill, Arkansas to the late Virgle J. & Eloise Hall Owens. She was a member of the Egypt Freewill Baptist Church. Faye retired after 25 years from the Danville Public Schools and she and her late husband, Roy, were poultry farmers for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Roy Lee Wilkins, and brother, Jay Owens.

Gregory Alan Wilkins, of Hensley, AR formerly of Little Rock, AR went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 28, 2000. He was an honors graduate of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO. He loved all sports, hunting and fishing and enjoyed playing pool with his many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Jean Wilkins; a son, Robert Man Wilkins; his mother, Barbara Wilkins; his father, Bob Wilkins and step mother, Marie Wilkins; two brothers, Bradley Robert and Jeff Wilkins and a host of aunts, uncle and cousins and wonderful friends.

Marie Wilkins, age 90, of Danville died Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born November 10, 1913 in Danville to the late Cheves "Bo" and Gertrude Ann Frazier Fernandez. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the United Methodist Church in Danville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Raymond Wilkins and a brother, Kyle Fernandez.

Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Clara Jean and Charlie Ellis of Elyria, Ohio, Linda Ann and Bob Powers and Mary Sue and Gary Davis, all of Danville; a step-daughter, Lorene Garner of Booneville; three grandchildren, Lance Davis and Kevin Davis, both of Danville, Cindy Conley of North Little Rock, step-grandson, Roger Garner of Booneville; two great grandchildren, Nick Conley and Kelly Conley, both of North Little Rock and two very special friends, Alma Torrence and Ocie Bell, both of Danville.

Mildred Ruth Wilkins, 91, of Havana died Saturday, February 19 at Stella Manor in Russellville. She was born August 13, 1919, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Earl Harper, Sr. and Judie Morrison Harper. She was a homemaker and a member of the Danville Methodist Church.

Wilkins, Roy Lee

Roy Lee Wilkins, age 75 of Blue Ball, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 near the Petit Jean Wildlife Management area in Magazine while turkey hunting. He was born July 21, 1935 in Blue Ball, AR to the late William Thomas and Oshie Garner Wilkins. He was retired from the U. S. Forest Service after 33 years, a deacon and 40 year member of Egypt Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #580 of Gravelly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Oshie Garner Wilkins; sisters, Elzadie Miller, Muffie Armstrong, Tad Morgan, Veoria Morgan, Lois Millard, Isabelle Bottoms, and Dottie Wilkins all of Dutch Creek.

Vela Lois Wilkins, age 87 of Dardanelle, died Monday, August 5, 2002 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born in Havana, Arkansas on November 28, 1914 daughter of the late Baxter and Lilla Walker Smith. She was a retired Beauty Shop and Grocery store owner, and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyndon Swilling and C. E. Wilkins; a brother, three sisters, and a grandson, Eddie Swilling.

William Christopher "Bill" "Snookie" Wilkins, age 85, of Blue Ball passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. Bill was born September 21, 1929, in Blue Ball, Arkansas to the late William Thomas & Oshie Garner Wilkins. He was a cattle and poultry farmer. He loved working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elzadie Miller, Muffie Armstrong, Tad Morgan, Veoria Morgan. Lois Millard, Isabelle Bottoms, and Dottie Wilkins; brother, Roy Lee Wilkins.

Wilkins, Willie (Mrs.)

Mrs. Willie Wilkins, age 88, of Pine Bluff, widow of Oscar J. Wilkins, died Monday at Jefferson Regional Medical. A native of Scott County, AR, she was a daughter of the late James and Frances Garner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church at Sherrill.

Survivors: six sons; Vestel Wilkins of Searcy, Lebo Wilkins and L. B. Wilkins both of Sheridan, Bill Wilkins of Redfield, Pete Wilkins of Pine Bluff and Bobby Wilkins of Sherrill. Two daughters: Velia Harper of Rison and Ethel Clements of Pine Bluff. Two brothers: Velzie Garner and Silvie Garner both of Havana, 37 grand-Children and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at Hale-South Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Walls will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Kedron, AR, by Hale-South Funeral Home. Mrs. Edith Faye (Dolly) Wilkinson, age 66 or Russellville, a widow of James Wilkinson, died Thursday at a Booneville hospital. She was a native of Yell County and had operated a cafe in Russellville for many years. She was a member of the Woodlawn Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Luther Wilkinson of Russellville and Clayburn Wilkinson of Oklahoma; two stepsons, Oscar Wilkinson of Russellville and Charles Wilkinson of Oregon; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ressie Osburn and Mrs. Mattie Mae McBride, both of Havana; two brothers, Raymond Wilson of Hartman and Aymon Wilson of Hot Springs; a sister, Mrs. Mae Greenlee of Russellville; and 21 grandchildren.

Wilkinson, Luther A., Rev.

The Rev. Luther A. Wilkinson, age 65, of Russellville died Wednesday, March 13, 1985, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the son of the late James and Edith "Dolly" Wilson Wilkinson, an employee of the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Shark submarine. He was a Free Will Baptist minister having served as pastor at Holman, Gumlog, Mountain Home at Minnow Creek and Waveland Free Will Baptist churches. He was the founder of the Chickalah Mountain Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wanda Wilkinson; three sons, John Wilkinson of the home, and Don and Paul Wilkinson of Russellville a daughter, Anna Hogan of Atkins; two brothers, Clayburn Wilkinson of Hot Springs and Charles Wilkinson of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Rissie Osburn of Danville and Mattie McBride of Havana, and five grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Saturday at Woodlawn Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Noah Moody. Burial will be in Linker Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Wilks, Alene G.

Alene G. Wilks, age 81, of Booneville, AR, formerly of Waveland, AR died November 6, 2005.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty and Bud Fredrick of Mt. Magazine and Corrine and Mike Karr of Choctow, OK; a son, Robert and Marie Wilks of Wilburton, OK; a sister, Louise Pinard of San Antonio, TX; a brother J.H. Gabbard of CA; a half brother, Glen Gabbard of Alaska; ten grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Gabbard and mother, Ethel Ward Nelson and a half brother, David Gabbard. The body will be cremated under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville. A Memorial service will be held for family and friends at 2:00 p.m. November 12, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Booneville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Sherrill B. Willard, her siblings, Mamie Hill, Luna Hoover, Bus Hoover, Jim Hoover, Ellen Egger and Willia Egger.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherrilly Kaye and Bob Forrest of Plainview; her son and daughter-in-law, Hoover and Mary Willard of Belleville; 3 grandchildren; four sisters and a brother, Jackie Pitts of Mena, Juanita Wiles of Broken Arrow, OK, Johnnie Faye Kinkade of Mena, Carolyn Pearce of Mena and Billy Ray Martain of Cummings, GA; and many other relatives and friends.

She was a member of Plainview First Baptist Church for over 60 years and often played the piano during services and sang specials while playing her guitar. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Dardanelle, Fourche Valley and Plainview-Rover School Districts.

Services were held Tuesday, May 27 at the Plainview First Baptist Church with burial at the Salem Cemetery near Plainview. Willard, Clayton Howard

Clayton Howard Willard Sr., age 89 of Plainview, AR died early Tuesday, February 7, 1989 at the Yell County Hospital In Danville. He was a native of Chula, AR, son of the late Burton C. Willard and Uda Elizabeth Swaim Willard, a Retired Civil Service Employee with the Postal Service, a member of the Plainview Church of Christ and a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Macel McKeever Willard of the home; one son, Clayton Howard Willard Jr. of Wiekenburg, AZ; one half brother, Sherrill Willard of Plainview, AR; one half sister, Neva Walden of Fort Smith; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Willard, Eula Mae

Eula Mae Willard, age 81, of Fort Smith died July 13, 1987 at a Fort Smith nursing home. She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, American Nurses Association and AARP.

She is survived by one son, Joseph L. Willard, St. Paul, MN; and one, sister, Martha White of Fort Smith, and five grandchildren.

Willburn, Bessie

Bessie Willburn, of Gravelly, AR died Sunday, December 3, 1995 in the Rich Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Mena, AR. She was born December 2, 1913 in Little Texas, AR to the late John McCormack and the late Laura Hunt McCormack. She was 82 years of age. She was united in marriage on October 27, 1945 in Hugo, OK to the late Ruben Willburn. She was a nurse, beautician and a homemaker. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors three sisters Ila Willis of Gravelly, Lillie Powell of Waldron, Ar and Neva Laster of Danville; many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were December 5 at Gravelly United Methodist Church in Gravelly with Rev. Royce Savage officiating. Interment was in the Parks Cemetery in Nola, AR. Willett, Paul

LTC (retired) Paul Willett, 78, of Russellville, died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at the Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 25, 1926 at Hoxie to Thomas Robert and Willie Alta Johnson Willett. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a 1957 graduate of Arkansas Tech University and a former R.O.T.C. instructor at the University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellville and a former member of the Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Thomas Robert Willett, Jr., John Taylor Willett and Eugene Rosmond Willett.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Martha Jane Willett of Russellville a daughter, Martha Diane Willett of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held today, Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mackey Yokem Matthew Johnson officiating. Willhite, Tommy Lee

of Melbourne, Arkansas Tommy Lee Willhite, son of Peggy Willhite Rogers and stepfather Eugene Obar, was born December 24, 1960 in Crawford County, Arkansas. He departed this life March 17, 2014 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 21 days. He was united in marriage to Sandy Marlow on May 24, 1980 in Ola, Arkansas. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was employed as a boliermaker, He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Sandy Willhite of the home; three sons: Tommy Joe Willhite and wife Ashley of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Michael Willhite of Phoenix, Arizona and Jimmy Willhite of Violet Hill; his mother: Peggy Rogers of Melbourne; two brothers: James Ritchie of Alma and Tony Ritchie of Springdale; three sisters: Caroline Templin of Colorado, Teresa Casey of Ozark and Glenda Flanigan of Mulberry, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Remi Willhite and Jace Thomas Willhite; several in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Eugene Obar.

Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, March 20 at 2:00 pm at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
