Robert Alexander White, age 77, Sallisaw, Okla. formerly of Belleville, died Sunday in his home in Sallisaw. Mr. White was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth White; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Jones; two brothers, Lee White, Havana, and Sam White of Belleville; four sisters, Mrs. George Beasley of Little Rock, Mrs. J. White, Undine (Caviness) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Undine Caviness White, age 68, of Silver City, New Mex., died July 26, in a Silver City hospital. She was a native of Yell County. Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Caviness of Danville. She was a Methodist, a retired school teacher, attended Galloway College at Searcy, and graduated from Hendrix College in Conway. She also attended college in New Mexico.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas White of Silver City; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Compton of Wing, Mrs. Charles Nixon of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Blakely Gallagher of Pine Bluff. Mrs. White was the aunt of Mrs. C.R. George and Mrs. Dick Keathley of Danville and Don Caviness of Wing.

Mrs. Undine Caviness White, age 68, of Silver City, New Mexico, died Saturday July 26, 1967. She was a native of Yell County. Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Caviness of Danville. She was a Methodist and a retired school teacher. Survivors include her husband, Douglas White of Silver City, N. M.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Compton of Wing, Ark., Mrs. Charles Nixon of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Blakely Gallagher of Pine Bluff, Ark. Funeral and burial was Monday morning in Silver City, N. M. White, Volley F.

Mr. Volley F. White, 72, born December 20, 1896 near Belleville, departed this life February 10, at Valley View Hospital, Ada, Oklahoma, seven days after an operation for cancer of the stomach, that took three hours and twenty minutes and took 350 stitches but promised to be successful. However, after seven days Mr. White had a coughing spell that tore the stitches loose that caused complications and death.

The funeral was held at the Methodist church at Belleville, of which Mr. White was a member for many years, with services before a large audience of sorrowing friends, by the Rev. E. W. Faulkner, Dardanelle, W. W. Warrington and J. R. Ashmore, Belleville. Many and beautiful were the flowers, solid banks in the front of the alter.

Surviving Mr. White are his widow, Mrs. Lelia White, two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Woodson, Dardanelle, and Mrs. Walter Ashmore, Colgate, Oklahoma, from Mr.

White, William Clarence, Jr.

William Clarence White, Jr., age 60 of Bismark, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home. He was born April 12, 1949 at Tyronza to the late William Clarence White, Sr., and Lue Tishia Jones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Butch White, and a sister, Susan Elizabeth White.

Survivors include brothers, Gary White of Dardanelle, Robert White of Bigelow, Larry Eugene White of Dardanelle; sisters, Beulah Catherine Eaton of Malvern, Lue Tishia Eaton of Russellville, Martha Ann Dunn of Dover and many nephews and nieces and other relatives. The family will hold a

Whitecotton, Fredola Lawrence

Fredola Lawrence Whitecotton, age 79, of Danville died Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 1987 at the Yell County Hospital, Mrs. Whitecotton was a native of Yell County, a housewife, and a member of the Danville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Willard Lawrence of Danville; Robert Lawrence of Ola; and Albert Lawrence of Florida; three sisters, Verna Mosely of Danville; Nora Carter of Danville; and Audie James of Wilson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Danville First Baptist Church, Thursday at 2:00, with Rev. Marion Oswalt and the Rev. Bobby Walker officiating. Interment will be at the Earl Ladd Cemetery. Whitecotton, Virginia Massey

Mrs. Virginia Massey Whitecotton, age 66, of Danville, died Wednesday night, November 5, 1980 at a Dardanelle nursing home. She was a native of Yell County. She was born March 13, 1914, the daughter of the late Claude and Carrie Clement Massey. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a housewife.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Carrie Massey of Ola; one daughter, Mrs. Rita Gross of Salinas, Calif.; two brothers, Ople Roy Massey and Boyd Massey, both of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Faye Bice of St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. Doris L. Koury of San Jose, California; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, in the Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Danville with Rev. Bennie Harmon officiating. Interment was in the Earl Ladd Memorial Cemetery in Danville. Brenda Gale Whitehead, age 45, of Rochelle, Illinois, formerly of Havana, AR died March 20, 2002 in Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. She was born August 18, 1959 in Rochelle, Illinois. She was a member of Four Square Church in Rochelle, Illinois, member of The Moose Lodge. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and secretary.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Whitehead of her home in Rochelle, Illinois, formerly of Booneville, AR; her parents, M. Harold Dorothy Burtman of Havana, AR; two daughters, Kathy Whitehead of the home, Erica Betz and husband Michael of Rochelle, Illinois; two sisters, Lena and husband Joe Vogel of Ft. Scott, Kansas, Kate and husband Mark Clemons of Havana, AR; one granddaughter, Evie Betz of Rochelle, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Whiteside, Audrey

Mrs. Audrey Whiteside, age 93, of North Little Rock, formerly of Dardanelle, died Monday, December 1, 1986 at her home. She and her late husband, Fletcher W. Whiteside, operated Whiteside Rexall Drug Store in Dardanelle before retiring and moving to North Little Rock.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Audrey Cave, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Whiteside, Frances H.

DANVILLE - Frances H. Whiteside, age 92, of Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, died Friday, August 16, 1985. She was the daughter of the late Esau and Judy Honey Horton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Whiteside; two sons, Charles and Lawrence Whiteside, and a daughter, Letha Mae Whiteside.

Survivors include a son, Earl L. Whiteside of Independence, Kan., four daughters, Opal Haggard of Shawnee, Okla., Mildred Beaghler of Oroville, Calif. Virginia Baker of Danville and Grace Drake of Shawnee, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Whiteside, John Edward

John Edward Whiteside, 37, of Crossett died August 11, 1956 while en-route to a Little Rock hospital, following a long period of ill health. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law, a past president of the Crossett Rotary Club, chairman of the Crossett Airport commission and a member of the Episcopal Church.

Whitfield, James Luther

James Luther Whitfield, age 93 of Casa, AR. died Saturday, January 2, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born September 2, 1905 at Rosecreek to the late Tom Henry Whitfield and Martha Mitchell Whitfield. He was a veteran of the Navy, he was the Casa postmaster for 38 years, member of the Casa First Baptist Church for 70 years and deacon of the church for 60 of those years. He was also a member of the York Rite and Consistory and the Scimitar Shrine. He was a 70 year member Casa Lodge 537 and a past grandmaster of Masonic Lodge of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Rosa J. Whitfield.

He is survived by a cousin, Lola Pearson of Rosecreek and a host of friends.

Funeral was Tuesday at the Casa First Baptist Church with the Rev. B. L. Dorman and Rev. Cleo Young officiating. A Masonic funeral followed at the Casa Cemetery. Whitford, John Lafayette

John L. Whitford, a prominent farmer living 5 miles south of Dardanelle on the Hot Springs road, died at his home, Wednesday afternoon, April 28th, at 4 o'clock. Heart trouble was the cause of death, which followed an illness of but a few moments. Mr. Whitford was working at the barn when taken ill. He managed to walk to the house where he jell in a faint, but soon revived and asked his wife to raise him to a sitting position. This she did, but he at once asked to lie down again and almost instantly expired. John L. Whltford was born near Neelly, Ark., August 23rd, 1868, and died at his home near this city April 28th, 1915, aged 46 years, 8 months and 5 days.

He was the only child of Louis and Eva Whitford, both of whom preceded him in death several years ago. He was reared in Yell County, where, with the exception of one year spent in Texas, he has lived his entire life. On January 8th, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Minerva Nolen, near this city. To this union six children were born, all of whom, with the widow, survive to mourn his loss. They are; Reece, Hobart, Eva, Viola, Orene and Syble, and all reside at the family home. Deceased had followed the vocation of farming all his life, and had met with success to a fair degree. He was a member of no church, but affiliated with the Presbyterians.

The funeral was conducted from the family home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. M. Kelsey officiating. Burial was made at New Hope cemetery, where the Modern Woodmen of America, of which order deceased was a member, had charge of the services. The pall was borne by Cecil Park, Monte Green, Riley Spencer, G. C. Crow, Barney McKenzie and Jack Gardner. Lewis Reece Whltford, age 88, of Little Rock died Friday, December 10, at St. Vincent's Infirmary.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis Whitford of Easley, South Carolina and Everett Whitford of Vilonia; one daughter, Thelma Glowers of Little Rock; three sisters, Orene Gillam of Dardanelle, Mrs. Syble Copland of Wichita, KS and Mrs. Eva Clark of Little Rock; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Whitlow, Donald Ray

Donald Ray Whitlow, 72, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, [November 18]. He was born in Briggsville, Arkansas to James Leon and Bessie Irene (Adamson) Whitlow. Don joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He lived most of his life in Arkansas, in Yell, Pope, Pliskey, and Saline Counties. Don moved to Oregon in October of this year to be near his family. He was a long haul truck driver and affiliated with the VFW. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by: his daughter, Donna Barbee and her husband Harold of Monmouth; son, Steve Whitlow and his wife Desiree of Sweet Home; daughter-in-law, Heather Lander of Salem; sisters, Lura and her husband Gerald Davis of Ola, Arkansas, Louise and her husband James Rogers of Danville, Arkansas, and Reda and her husband Dwight McConnell of Mt. George, Arkansas; brother, David and his wife Kathy Whitlow of Burta, Arkansas; grandchildren, Justin, Chris, Tracy, Michael, Alex, Jason, Jarrett, Brailey, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Alana and Damien; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Whitlow, Fern L. "Midge" (Powers)

Fern L. Powers Whitlow (Midge), was born on January 4, 1942 in Moss Creek, AR, and died on January 27, 2013 at her home in Plainview, AR. Midge was the daughter of the late Asberry and Ruby Millsap Powers.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Cloyd Powers (Buck) and James Powers (Curt). Midge was also preceded in death by her late husband Riley Mize. Midge is survived by her husband of 15 years, Don Whitlow of Plainview, AR., son Jerry and wife, Shelly Mize, grandson, Garrett Mize, and granddaughter, Brailey Mize, all of Atkins. Garrett and Brailey were Grandma's pride and joy. Steve and Desiree Whitlow, Donna and Harold Barbee and Heather Whitlow all of Oregon and seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren are also survivors.

Other survivors include brother, Wyatt (Joe) Powers of Danville, sisters, Bernice Wilson of Sand Springs, OK, Arlene Morton of Stanville, KY and Selma Caldwell of Canyon County, CA, and sister-in-law, Louise (Sudie) Powers of Lavaca, AR. Midge retired from a hardware store as a manager and packer. After marrying Don, Midge joined him on his long distance truck. They traveled all over the states until they retired on their two acres in Plainview. There they enjoyed yard work and watching wildlife. Midge loved her flowers. She also liked to decorate for Christmas. She spent a lot of time at the Plainview Dairy Bar, visiting with friends. Midge also enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren and friends and feeding the birds. She loved being around children, always taking care of them and feeding them candy. Midge was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service was January 31, 2013 at Mt. George Church of Christ. Burial was at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Pallbearers included C.A. She also liked to decorate for Christmas. She spent a lot of time at the Plainview Dairy Bar, visiting with friends. Midge also enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren and friends and feeding the birds. She loved being around children, always taking care of them and feeding them candy. Midge was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

Fern L. Powers Whitlow "Midge" was born on January 4, 1942 in Moss Creek, AR, and died on January 27, 2013 at her home in Plainview, AR. Midge was the daughter of the late Asberry and Ruby Millsap Powers.

She was preceded in death by her sibling Cloyd Powers (Buck) and James Powers (Curt). Midge was also preceded in death by her late husband Riley Mize. Midge is survived by her husband of 15 years Don Whitlow of Plainview, AR. Also, son Jerry and wife Shelly Mize, grandson Garrett Mize, granddaughter Brailey Mize all of Atkins. Garrett and Brailey were Grandma's pride and joy. Steve and Desiree Whitlow, Donna and Harold Barbee and Heather Whitlow all of Oregon and seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren are also survivors.

Whitlow, Irene Adamson

Irene Adamson Whitlow, age 79, a resident of Plainview, died Friday, June 7, 2002 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She was born on May 4, 1923 in Fannie, Arkansas to Charles and Nellie Wilson Adamson. She was the widow of James Leon "Lonnie Whitlow. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Plainview. She considered herself simply a Christian and attended several different churches in her community.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Elmer Whitlow and several grandchildren, Michael Muck, Paul Allen Whitlow, Dillon Standridge, Hunter Shane Melton, Riley Taylor Melton, and a sister Velma Finney.

Survivors include 2 sons, Don Whitlow and David Whitlow of Plainview, AR; 4 daughters, Betty Muck of Dallas, TX, Louise Rogers of Mt. George, AR, Lura Davis of Plainview, AR and Reda McConnell of Centerville, AR; 3 brothers, Floyd Adamson of Paris, AR, Clayton Adamson of Minneapolis, MN, and Robert Adamson of Las Vegas, NE; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and numerous nephews & nieces.

John Wayne Whitlow, age 65, of Rossville, GA passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007. He graduated from Plainview/Rover High School in 1960, served in the U. S. Navy and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Whitlow and a daughter, Theresa Whitlow.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dianne Whitlow of Rossville; his mother, Evola Whitlow of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; a daughter, Sherry Brennen of Flintstone; three grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 2:00 p. m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 in the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, GA with Rev. Lonnie Rhodes officiating. Mary Kathryn Judd Whitlow, age 50, of Plainview, AR died Wednesday at the St. Vincent's Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was a truck driver for DayMark.

November 23, 1923 - May 11, 2012 Ophelia Maxine (Adaire) Whitlow, 88, of Plainview, AR, went to be with the lord Friday, May 11, 2012. The daughter of Isaac and Dottie Irene Harkey Adaire, she was born September 28, 1923 in Harkeys Valley, AR on the Harkey farm. Where her mother and grandmother were both born and raised. She married Troy Elgie Whitlow on January 4, 1941. Ophelia accepted Christ and was baptized in Shoal Creek at New Blaine in August of 1939. She joined the Assembly of God Church in Plainview, AR in March of 1940, and was in the Ladies Missionary Group. Ophelia loved her church, her work and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy E. Whitlow; her parents; three sisters, Juanita Storment, Pauline Whitlow, Mozell Forrest; and a niece Mary Douthit. Left to cherish her memory are her two children Linda Bata & husband James of Plainview and Troy L. Whitlow & wife Sandi of Russellville; four grandchildren Troy Lynn Whitlow, Jr.

Whitlow, Pauline

Mrs. Pauline Whitlow was born January 26, 1928, in Belleville, AR to Isaac and Dotte Adaire. She went to be with Jesus on July 13, 2008. On October 26, 1943, she married Billy Joe Whitlow in Dardanelle, AR. They were married for 65 years. Pauline was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, which was one of her favorite hobbies, and working in her flower garden. She was a lifelong member of Harvest Life Center.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Edith Rush and husband Dan of Hot Springs Village, AR and Melba Mull and husband Fred of Amarillo; two sons, Bill Whitlow and wife Elaine of Conway, AR and William Whitlow of Amarillo; a sister, Ophelia Whitlow of Plainview, AR; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Whitlow, Troy Elgie

Troy Elgie Whitlow, age 83, of Plainview, AR. died March 24, 1999, at Yell County Nursing Home in Ola, AR. He was the son of the late W. T. "Will" Whitlow and Ethel (McFerrin Whitlow. He was a member of Plainview Assembly of God Church, the Plainview VFW, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a retired area manager of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He was a World War II veteran, serving from December 1942 until March 1946 with the Machine Gun Squadron of the 124th Calvary Division.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Erbie Lee and Earl Lamar Whitlow and two sisters, Winnie Vaye Whitlow and Faye Whitlow Summitt.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ophelia (Adaire) Whitlow of Plainview, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Sandi Whitlow of Russellville, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Bata of Plainview, AR; four grandchildren, Troy Lynn Whitlow, Josh Whitlow, Katie Whitlow and Scott Bata; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Pauline Whitlow of Amarillo, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was March 27, 1999 at the Plainview Assembly of God Church officiated by Bro. Norman Chenowith and assisted by Rev. Wilma Whorton. Burial was at the Salem Cemetery at Plainview, AR. under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Plainview First Assembly of God Church or Salem Cemetery.
