Wilfred O. Watt of Dardanelle, retired newspaper publisher, died on August 29th at the Yell County Hospital in Danville. He was born in Mason City, Iowa and moved to southwestern Oklahoma, where he published The Magnum Star, the Blair News and Jackson County Tribune. He moved to Arkansas in 1938 and was publisher of the Montgomery Herald at Mt. Ida until 1948. He then purchased the Post-Dispatch at Dardanelle, which he published until retiring in 1957. Mr. Watt was responsible for the training of four other members of his family who became publishers. His brother, E. V. Watt is publisher of the Glenwood Herald, His daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Bill Watt, (a son Bill Watt preceded him in death) is publisher of the Stroud (Okla.) American. His son-in-law. R. L. Fisher, is the publisher of the Yell County Record at Danville, and a nephew, Leroy Watt, was formerly publisher of the newspaper at Dierks. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a Mason for the past 51 years. He was also a member of the Royal Arch, Council Commander, Knights Templar, and Order of Eastern Star. He was active in a number of civic and political organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Hickerson Watt; one daughter, Mrs. R. L. Fisher of Danville: one brother, E. V. Watt of Glenwood; and three grandsons.

Charles "Charlie" Allen Watts, age 62, of Havana, AR passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005. He was born April 26, 1943 in Benton, AR. He was a retired self-employed carpenter, a Green Beret in the Army, member of the N.R.A. and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Violet Watts; a brother and two daughters.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ronnette and Glen High of Little Rock, AR; two sons and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Leighanne Watts and Darren Watts all of Bryant, AR; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ron King of Benton, AR; four grandchildren and other family and friends. Visitation will be held today at the Ashby Funeral Home, Benton, AR from 6 to 9 p.m.

Clois D. Watts, age 69, of Little Rock, AR died Saturday, May 3rd, 1997. He was a retired salesman and served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Anne C. Watts; one son, Donald E. Watts of Mabelvale; five daughters, Beverly D. Cook of Danville, Yvonne Lutrell of Alexandria, LA, Andrea Lynn Tribble of Valencia, CA, Janet Camille Watts of Little and Melanie Gail Tackett of Hensley; two brothers; four sisters and nine grandchildren.

James A. "Butch" Watts, Jr., age 57 of Belleville, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Mt. Ida, Arkansas. He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on October 29, 1946. He was the owner and operator of Dickey Refrigerated Service, Inc. of Danville. He also owned Tickle Belly Hill Farm, a horse, cattle and poultry operation. He was a member of the National Quarter Horse Association, National Cutting Horse Association, The American Quarter Horse Association, retired board member and past president of the Yell County Rodeo and Riding Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Watts, Sr. and his stepfather, C. P. Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Watts; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Janis Watts; a daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Tony Cain, all of Belleville; his mother, Frances Strahan Johnson of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Pam Holcomb and Nancy Johnson, both of Little Rock; his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Raymond and Margaret Dickey of Belleville; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Paul and-Ruth Dickey of Victoria, Texas, Bruce and Kay Dickey of Russellville; six grandchildren, Katy Petchenik of Booneville, Savannah Kilburn, Santannah, and Shelby Cain, James Raymond "J. Mrs. Lucrecie Watts, age 89 of Aplin, died November 28 at her home. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Odis Watts of Hargerman, New Mex., Hobart and Carmen Watts of Aplin, and Loyd Watts or Whichita, Kans.; four daughters, Mrs. Effie Mills of Lake Arthur, New Mex., Mrs. Walsie Goad of Holdenville, Okla., Mrs. Ula Cobb of Little Rock, and Mrs. Edna Taylor of California; three brothers, Jim Grinder of Saint Joe, Henry Grinder of Benton, and Noble Grinder of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Catherine May of Watson; 15 grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Viola Wadsworth Watts, age 84, of Perryville, formerly of Yell County, died Thursday, December 18, 1986 at the Yell County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Melissa Brewer Wadsworth.
Survivors include one son Glen Watts of Perryville; a brother, Erby Wadsworth of Tulsa; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter all of California.

John David Wawro Jr., age 67 of Danville, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his home. Born February 10, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late John & Lillian Porucznik Wawro. He retired after 30 years from Borg Warner Coperation as an auto clutch inspector. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Nancy Yoreck Wawro; two sons, John Wawro of Elgin, Illinois, Lt. Col. Mrs. Gertie Wayne, 83, of Perryville, died Friday, April 19, 1985, at a Cabot nursing home. She was a native of Oklahoma.

Audrey Earl Moore Wear, age 97, of Oppelo, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born April 1, 1915, in Damascus, Arkansas a daughter of John Wesley Moore and Hallie Jones Moore. She was the widow of High Wear. She was a lifelong member of Oppelo Methodist Church, very active in United Methodist Youth, and retires as a meat processor with Kroger.
Survivors include her son, John A. Wear of Dardanelle; five grandchildren, Johnna Wear Duncan of Bentonville, Jennifer Wear Golman of Benton, Brad Wear of Dardanelle, High Taylor of Ft. Smith, and Charles Taylor of Mountainburg; twelve great- grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, four sisters, her daughter, Glenda Taylor, and a daughter-in-law, Rosalie Wear.

Eddie Bradford "Brad" Wear, age 47, of the Omega Community in Dardanelle, found eternal peace on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the River Valley Medical Center. He was born August 16, 1967 at the Dardanelle Hospital to John and Rosalie Carter Wear. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. From an early age Brad worked with his father John on their family farm. In 1990 he and his wife began a swine operation and later raised laying hens with their son, Jonathan. Brad also held the office of Yell County Judge from 2005 thru 2010. Brad was involved in the community serving on various boards of civic organizations. The Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce recognized him as the Yell County Citizen of the Year in 2010. Brad enjoyed hunting and fishing and coaching his children's baseball and softball teams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie Carter Wear; grandparents, Hugh and Earl Wear, Ed and Esther Carter; one aunt, Glenda Wear Taylor; one uncle, Larry Wayne Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Sondra Griffin Wear of Omega; father, John Wear of Omega; In-laws, Bob and Peggy Griffin of Dardanelle; two children, Jonathan Wear and Hallie Wear both of Omega; two sisters, Johnna Duncan and husband Bobby of Bentonville, Jennifer Golman and husband Tim of Benton; Brother in Law, Gary Griffin and wife Shannon of Hot Springs; Nieces and Nephews, Chelsea Hand, Sydnee Golman, Courtney Golman, Matthew Duncan, Rachel Kirksey, Courtney Thompson, Chris Griffin and Michael Santamaria; and a host of other family and friends.

Rosalie Carter Wear, age 72 of the Omega Community, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Baptist Health Medical Center after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born May 29, 1937 at Elk City, OK to the late Ed and Esther Gray Carter. She was a lifelong resident of Yell County, a member of the Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Yell County E. H. Club, Saint Edwards School of Nursing Alumnus and the Arkansas Nursing Association.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Carter. Rosalie loved her family, watching ball games and listening to quartet music.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Wear of Omega Community; children and spouses, Johnna and Bobby Duncan of Bentonville, Jennifer and Tim Golman of Benton, Brad and Sondra Wear of Omega; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lanny and Alicia Carter, Lelon and Jo Lynn Carter; sisters-in-law, Mamie Carter, Glenda Taylor; grandchildren, Rachel and Matt Duncan, Chelsea Norvell, Sydnee and Courtney Golman, Jonathan and Hallie Wear; uncles, Earl and Rebecca Gray, Thurman and Sue Carter; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Eugene Leon Weatherall, age 58, died May 11, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center Hospital Inpatient at Springdale, AR. He was born August 12, 1943 in Little Rock, AR the son of Foye Mott and Eugene L. Weatherall. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove and was retired from the Texas Department of Health after 27 years.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Annie Weatherall.

Mrs. Lillie Frame Weatherall, age 61, of Waveland, a retired postmaster of Waveland, died Sunday at her home. She was a postmaster for 18 years before retiring in June. She was a member of the National Postmaster Association.

Anita Marie Weaver, age 66, of Plainview, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born October 10, 1945, in Corning, AR to the late Edward Eugene & Ruth Marie Day Wilder. She was a mother and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cleveland "Charlie" Weaver; parents; and brother, Eddie Lee Wilder.

Funeral services were conducted at Moore's Chapel Sunday, November 28 for Pfc. Archie L. Weaver, whose body was returned from overseas for re-burial. Services were conducted by Rev. George Findley of Havana, and military services by the Havana and Danville Legion Posts. A detachment and chaplain scheduled to come from Camp Chaffee failed to arrive. Pfc. Weaver was a resident of Moore's Chapel community near Waveland until his enlistment in the Army on November 22, 1942. He was killed in action in Italy on July 2, 1944 at the age of 22.

Clarence Edward Weaver, 79, died at his home on December 2, 1958 following a heart attack. He was a retired farmer and a Church of God minister.

DANVILLE - Dave Weaver, age 87, of Danville died Monday, March 18, 1985, at Mitchell Nursing Home. He was a native of Waveland, a retired farmer, son of the late John Frank and Mary Jane Dozer Weaver and was a veteran of World War I. He attended the Assembly of God Church.

Jimmy W. Weaver, age 58, a resident of Centerville, AR died Friday, June 8, 2001 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was born August 8, 1942, in Franklin County, TN to Joseph Brooks and Margie Leona Floyd Weaver. He was a past president of the Yell County Farm Bureau, a member of the River Valley Pilots Association, the Petit Jean Masonic Lodge at Ola, and was a member and elder at the Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed stock car racing and flying.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Bobby Weaver.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Weaver of Centerville, AR; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin & Sonya Weaver of Centerville, AR; a special daughter, Regina Tucker of Dardanelle, AR; his mother, Margie Weaver of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters and brother-in-law, Billie & Rev. Leonard Josh Weaver, age 84 of Plainview, entered heaven on August 5, 2008. He was born on February 25, 1924 to Charlie and Martha (Furr) Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Charles; four brothers and five sisters. Leonard is survived by his wife Pauline of 63 years; four daughters and spouses, Helen and Herbert Jones of Hollis, Anna Williams of Hot Springs Village, Meredith and Phillip Young of Plainview and Barbara and James Westlake of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Joe Phillips of Hot Springs; and a host of friends and extended family who will all miss him dearly. Leonard retired from the timber industry at the age of 62 but his love for the woods brought him out of retirement until the age of 81. He was a true outdoorsman who also loved hunting and fishing and serving the Lord. Friends and family were Leonards greatest joys in life. He never met a stranger. He was a founding member of the Plainview Jesus Name Church where he enjoyed many hours of singing and praising the Lord with his banjo and guitar.

Margie Leona Weaver, age 88 of Dardanelle, died Friday, November 19 at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born December 3, 1921, in Deckard, TN to the late William and Nora Tucker Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, JB Weaver; two sons, Jimmy and Bobby Weaver; and two sisters, Evelyn Limbaugh and Virginia Lindsey.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Dean Wolfinger of KY and Peggy Weaver of Dardanelle; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Maude Edna Weaver of Conway died in a Conway hospital on October 19. She was the widow of C. E. Weaver and was 81 years old. She moved to Conway eight years ago from Yell County. She was a member of the Church of God.

Bobbie Nell Phillips Webb,71, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, formerly of Sheridan, was born October 22, 1943, in Prescott, the daughter of the late Aubra C. and Hazel Elizabeth Roberts Phillips. Mrs. Webb died Saturday.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Lee Mix and her brother, Joe Donald Phillips. Casa Man Killed by Freight Train - Clarence Webb, 35, of Casa was fatally injured early Monday when struck by a train near his home. Webb, an Army reservist scheduled to report Thursday for active duty, was killed about 2:30 am. A coroner's jury returned a verdict of death from unknown causes and an investigation was continuing.
According to Perry County Sheriff C. A. Ezell, Webb was returning from a party at Danville and had been brought to the rail road crossing at Casa by a friend. There was a heavy fog at the time, and State Police reported that Webb was struck by Rock Island train while walking west on the tracks.

Clinton Earl Webb was born on December 6, 1980 in Visalia, California. He died on April 26, 2005 and was 24 years old. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a 1999 graduate of Mount Ida High School and was currently attending Rich Mountain Community College. He was survived by his parents, Eddie and Sue Webb; a brother David Webb; a sister, Shelly Scrimshire; and two nephews, Landon Scrimshire, and Jonathan Webb; a girlfriend, Amanda Ottolaine; a grandfather, two aunts, three uncles, and many family and friends and was preceded in death by a brother Eddie Webb Jr. He was a very outgoing person who lived life to its fullest. He was always the life of the party and was always there for his friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew Landon and loved to go hunting and fishing. Clint will be greatly missed.
