Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Amy Eudy and Mrs. Arvie Roach of Ft. Worth, Tex.; two sons, Miles Walden of Iowa, Bill Walden of California; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

George P. Walden, age 71, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cannon Watts, at Aplin on February 21, 1954. Mr. Walden had lived in Yell County most of his life. He was a member of the Nimrod Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Aubrey of Plainview, Billy of Kansas City, Kans. GP. Jr. with the army in France; four daughters, Mrs. Jo Aleene Watts of Aplin, Mrs. Jone Mace of Perry, Okla. Jimmy J. Walden, age 69, of Wilburton, passed away January 18, 1992 in McAlester. He was born on April 9,1922 in Wilburton and married Johnnie Schofield on April 21, 1941. Walden was affiliated with the Southside Baptist Church and owned a service station for 32 years. He was a World War II U. S. Navy Veteran, a Mason, a Master Mason, 32 Mason Scotishrite Construction McAlester and member of American Legion, V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Johnnie, two sons, Larry Wayne Walden of Oklahoma City and Jimmie Lee Walden of McAlester; one sister Lillian Whiteaker of Wilburton, one brother, Orvel Lee Walden of Wilburton, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 20 at Southside Baptist Church with Interment at Damon Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Holdomb officiated. Neva Marie Walden, age 85, of Fort Smith, AR died Wednesday, December 16, 1998 in a Fort Smith nursing home. She was a retired sales representative for Avon Cosmetics and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Aubrey; a daughter, Martha Lou Gunter of Fort Smith; a brother, Sherrill B. Willard of Plainview, AR; and a grandchild, Janet Gunter of Fort Smith.

Mrs. Zadie Kirkpatrick Walden, 69, died last Thursday at Oak Manor Rest Home at Booneville after several months of illness. She was the daughter of George and Rosa Kirkpatrick and a Baptist.
She is survived by her brother, Walter Kirkpatrick, of Rover and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Whitlow, of Plainview.

Frank Wayne Waldroop, son of Earl and Geraldine (Donathan) Waldroop, was born, on July 3, 1950 in Siloam Springs, AR and departed this life on December 31, 1996 in Springdale, AR at the age of 46. He was employed as a broker for Landmark Food of Dallas, TX for the last 6 years. Previously he had worked for Wayne Farms of Danville, AR and as a social worker for the Dept. of Human Services. Frank and Judy Mauler were married on November 4, 1981. Frank was a member of the Methodist Church where he taught disciple Bible Study classes I, II and was in the process of teaching class III. He was a graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Ruth Roswell Waldrop, age 97, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Russellville Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born August 19, 1914 at Ashley County, AR to the late John Frank and Cora Melverda Reed Roswell. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen Waldrop, Jr.; two sisters, Gladys Talley, Bessie Jo Meers; and a brother, Marvin Roswell.

Ann Blake Walker, age 87, of Ola, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was born January 4, 1924, in Pottsville, Arkansas, the daughter of Sid and Eva (Hamaker) Blake. She was a homemaker, retired social worker for Saline County Human Services Department, amateur artist, and a member of the Perryville E.H. Club and Perryville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walker graduated from Plainview Rover High School in 1941.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trent M. Walker; daughter, Susan Taylor; and her sisters Orpha Lee Fomby and Helen Wolf.

Walker -- Erastus Walker was born July 14, 1854 in Yell County, Ark., where he was raised and spent his life. Converted and joined the M.E. Church, South, at Centerville, Ark., in Sept. 1886 under the ministry of Rev. G. W. Daman. Brother Walker was a worthy and consistent member of the church from the time he became a member until his death, which occurred Sept. 13, 1890. The circumstances connected with his death were very sad indeed. He was running a cotton gin, and by accident got his hand caught in the gin saw, which drew his arm in the breast of the gin to his shoulder, sawing his arm to pieces and cutting the arteries and veins, from which he bled to death before the necessary medical assistance could be given. Brother Walker was a good man, always promptly filling his place in the church in whatever station his brethren placed him. The membership of the church at Centerville realizes that they have lost a leader. I hear it frequently said that we will miss him. He was kind and attentive to his pastor, and believed in supporting the ministry, which he did by promptly paying his quartage in the beginning of the year. He leaves a wife and several children and kind relatives and a host of friends to mourn their loss. I would say to the widow and children and friends, weep not as those who have no hope, but look to God for sustaining grace, and live faithful, ever serving God as did your husband and father and friend and there shall be a reunion in the sweet bye-and-bye where parting will be no more. He was born October 1, 1932, in Roland, Oklahoma to the late Clarence Aston and Pearl Lavay Freeman Walker. He graduated from Roland High School and Missionary Baptist Seminaiy in Little Rock where he received his Doctorate. He served the Lord for over 60 years in churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He was pastor in Ft. Smith for 28 years and then served at Chalybeate Springs Church for 17 years before he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma Jane Walker and step-father, Conce Lee Wilson.

John Daniel Walker, infant son of Jim and Kelly Daily Walker of Belleville, AR was born and died May 2, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Other survivors include his half brother, Logan Stanton of Belleville; paternal grandparents, James and Myranell Walker of Hector; paternal great-grandmother, Lula Walker of Russellville; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Anna Daily of Russellville, AR; maternal great grandparents, Roy and Gertha Cowan of No. Little Rock, AR, maternal great-grandmother, Elsie Reed of Russellville and several aunts and uncles.

Iva Ozelma Walker, age 87 of Dardanelle died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born March 4, 1922 to Ada and Silas Collins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ury Walker; great grandson, Justin West; sisters, Hettie Brown, Elisa Tippy, Bonnie Sims and Retta Huff; and brother, Brownlo Collins.
She is survived by her son Ury Lynn Walker and companion Pearl Scott; daughter, Betty W. Dollar of Russellville; grandchildren and spouses, Michelle West of Russellville; Melissa and Dan Carlson of Hector; Mitzi and Chris Butler of Pottsville, Jason and Kim Walker of Plainview; great grandchildren, Brandon West of Russellville, Jessica and Jacob Carlson of Hector, Bailey and Brayson of Pottsville; great-great grandchildren, Shaylee and Silas West and their mother Brittney West of Russellville.

Jack Walker, age 78, of Russellville, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born February 18, 1924, at Centerville, Arkansas, a son of the late Amos Jackson and Martha Louisa George Walker. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U. S. Army, having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He participated in the Atomic Blast testing at Frenchman's Flat Nevada Proving Ground on April 15, 1955, and the Yucca Flat Nevada Proving Ground on April 15, 1955. After retiring from the Army, he was a security guard at Morton's Frozen Foods, now ConAgra, for approximately 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Rogers, Rye VFW Post 2283 and the Fair Park Baptist Church, where he served on numerous committees.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Reed Walker; two sons, Larry and Gary Walker of Russellville; two daughters, Janice Hefley of Pine Bluff and Barbara Adams of Russellville; two sisters, Alvie Anderson Morgan of Modesto, California and Eula Vae Grace of Russellville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were August 2 at Shinn Chapel with Rev. Chuck Sanders and Rev. Todd Davis officiating. Burial, with military honors by Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283, was in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Pallbearers were Charlie Adams, Howard Breshears, Vernon Collins, Jerry Hottinger, Bobby Roach, Chuck Standridge. Honorary pallbearers were members of Fair Park Baptist Church, friends of McDougal Lane and members of Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283. Jack M. Walker, age 65 of Danville, died Tuesday, May 29, 1984 at Yell County Hospital in Danville. Mr. Walker was a native of Belleville. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Arria Apple Walker. He was a retired rancher and businessman, a veteran of WWII and a member of the United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, May 31, in the Danville United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Webb officiating. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery in Belleville. Six Year-Old Danville Boy Killed Saturday By Electric Wire - Jackie Allen Walker, 6, was killed Saturday morning when he became entangled in an electric wire strung around a flower bed in Danville. Details of how the accident happened are not known since he was alone and was not discovered until from 10 to 30 minutes later. He had been playing on the back porch of Aubrey Cowger's home, across the street from his home, with Mary Dean Cowger and his cousin. Earlier in the morning Jackie's dog had been shocked by the wire, which was around a flower bed in Cowger's yard. He had wanted to touch the wire then to see what it would do but had been kept from doing so by the other children. He left to go home, but instead of going straight home, apparently went by to touch the wire. When the two girls started over to the Walker home from 10 to 30 minutes later, they found his body lying face down with his chest across the wire. Mary Dean called to her 13-year-old brother, Lamar, and reached out to touch Jackie and received a shock. Lamar told them to keep away until he could unplug the wire and he immediately started giving artificial respiration. His Boy Scout training probably prevented the other two children from being electrocuted, and had Jackie been found sooner, it might have save his life. Jackie was taken to Dr. Harris office, where efforts to revive him through artificial respiration were carried on for two hours to no avail. Mr. Cowger said he had placed the 110 volt wire around the flower bed to keep dogs away and he said he didnt believe it was capable of causing injury, much less death, to any human who touched it. He said several children had received slight shocks from the wire before and that he had touched it himself several times and received only a slight shock. Arkansas Power and Light Co. employees who investigated said the boy probably received the fatal shock because he was barefooted and because the ground was wet, causing a solid grounding of the hot wire. Jackie is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walker of Danville; a sister, Judy Kay of Danville; a half-sister, Sonya of Guadalupe, Calif; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boyce of Danville. Linda L. Walker, age 52, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, March 13, 2000 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born July 20, 1947 in Harrison, AR to the late Troy and Busy Lou Kelley Richardson; she was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church and was an insurance sales person. She attended Arkansas Tech and Capitol City Business College.
She was preceded in death by, three sisters, Lottie Roberts, Lucy Hilton and Lettie Taylor.
Survivors include, her husband, Lynn Walker of Dardanelle, AR; three sons, Scott McClure of Oregon, Shiloh and Reese McClure both of Dardanelle, AR; two brothers, Ray and Randell Richardson of Harrison, AR; two sisters, Lois and Lotus Roberts both of Harrison and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Linnie Lou Walker, age 78, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, September 13 at the Yell County Nursing Home in Ola. She was a native of Sherman, TX, a housewife and a member of the Mt. George Church of Christ and the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Apple Moudy.
Survivors include her husband, Seth Walker of Dardanelle; one son, Jack Lee Walker of North Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Jones and Mrs. Nelda Dennis both of Dardanelle and ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

BELLEVILLE - Loyd Richard Walker, age 77, of Belleville died Friday, December 16, 1983 at Bixby, Okla. He was a retired law enforcement officer, veteran of World War II, a Mason and a member of Belleville United Methodist Church.

Aunt Lydia Walker, age 91, died at her home two miles west of Centerville, November 19.
She is survived by six children, Hugh, Seth, Delia, Effie and Ruie Cannon, all of Centerville, and Jack Walker, of near Dardanelle. She leaves a host of grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many friends, who knew her as Aunt Lydia.
She joined the Church of Christ at the early age of 17, and lived a faithful member all her life. Her Bible was the one book she loved, and read as long as she could see to read by the use of a magnifying glass, though she was almost blind the last six months of her life. Mrs. Martha George Walker, wife of Amos Walker of Centerville, passed away March 4, 1958 at 11:43 from a heart attack. She was the daughter of the late E. P. and Margaret George, of Mt. George. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, had lived her entire life in Yell County.
