Waid, Marge Modine

LITTLE MADGE WAID AT REST On Thursday night, February 11, 1926, the "Death Angel" visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Waid at Chickalah and took from them their precious five-year-old daughter, Madge. Little Madge was a sweet, lovable child. She was of a friendly disposition and to know her was to love her. Father and mother, weep not. We know it is hard to part with this little one, but we know she has gone to the Great Beyond where parting and sorrow never come. May we all live in this world so that when the trumpet is sounded we can meet little Madge in the better world.

She is survived by her father and mother, a grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Waid, and a host of other relatives to mourn her.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Worthington. Interment was made in Johnson cemetery, the remains being followed to their last resting place by a great throng of sorrowing friends. All of the relatives have our deepest sympathy, but especially the heart broken father and mother. "One precious to our hearts has gone; the voice we loved is stilled; a place is vacant in our home that never can be filled."

Their friend, Wilma Campbell ~~~ CALLED HOME Little Madge Modine, the five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Waid, of Chickalah, was burned to death last Thursday, February 11th, 1926. All that kind and loving hands could do was done for the little one, but God knew best and called her home. Madge was born June 13, 1920. she was a perfect little sunbeam in the lives of the family and many others. She was a lovable child and was so friendly that she readily made friends with everyone. To know her was to love her. We know it is hard for those who loved her so well to see her so suddenly snatched from life, just like extinguishing a bright light. But surely God loved her better than we. He called her home to be with Him around the great white throne. There she will join the angel chorus and make Heaven a brighter and happier place. Oh, father and mother, and other relatives, think not of little Madge as you saw her last on earth, but as an angel clad in a spotless robe of white, with her sweet face o'ershadowed with angel wings, singing and playing around the throne. There can be no doubt in our minds as to her home, for we know our Master said we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven unless we become as a little child. Madge is survived by her father and mother, two brothers, Ethridge and Raymond, a grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Waid, and a host of other relatives to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Worthington. Interment was in Johnson Cemetery. To all the relatives we extend our sympathy, but especially are we sorry for the father, mother, grandmother and aunt, Miss Bessie Waid. May God strengthen and help them in their time of trouble.
