Mrs. Anna Laura Coger Vaughter, age 80, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Danville, Arkansas, died Saturday, April 17, 1999 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. She was born August 6, 1918 in Ft. Smith, AR to the late Perry C. and Mayme Sugg Wiseman. She was a Pharmacist and for 35 years owned and operated Coger Drug Store in Danville, AR with her late husband, Max Coger. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Danville, AR, United Methodist Women, the Arkansas Pharmaceutical Association, the Cancer and Tuberculosis Society and she was a Charter member of the Danville Music Club.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Roger Vaughter of Little Rock; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Coger of Boerne, TX, Dr. Bill and Chloe Coger of McMinnville, TN and Steve and Beth Coger of Danville, AR; two step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, Bill Vaughter of Little Rock, AR and Dr. James and Faye Caughter of Savannah, GA; one brother, Perry Allan Wiseman of Mendocino, CA; one sister, Sue Dauterive of New Iberia, LA and six grandchildren, Sarah Coger of Fayetteville, AR, Stephen Coger of Danville, AR, Joshua Coger of Houston, TX, Noah Coger of Boerne, TX, Lara Coger of Austin, TX and Holly Coger of New Orleans, LA.

Mrs. Edith Vaughter, aged 66, of Little Rock, wife of Dr. W. Roger Vaughter, died Thursday. She taught in Little Rock and Conway area schools for 15 years and was a member of the Medical Auxiliary.
Other survivors are two sons, William Vaughter of Jacksonville and James Vaughter of Conway; a brother, Perry Wiesman of Cupertino, Cal. and two sisters, Anna Coger of Danville and Sue Deutrive of Louisiana, and two grandchildren.

William Roger Vaughter, Sr., M.D., 88, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Tuesday morning, October 11, 2005, under the care of Hospice Savannah at Buckingham South. He was born July 23, 1917, in Conway, Arkansas, he was a son of the late Lola M. Rogers Vaughter and William Claude Vaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Edith Virginia Wiseman Vaughter and Anna Laura Wiseman, Coger Vaughter. Roger graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas in 1939 with a Chemistry Degree. He worked as a chemist for the Arkansas State Department of Revenue and later as a supervisor of the IBM Division of the State Comptroller's Office. At the age of 39 he entered the University of Arkansas Medical School after a 14 year delay because of an illness he contracted when he was 9 years old. After graduation, he became a board certified anesthesiologist and practiced at Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas until he retired in 1988. He was an active member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and their choir and Sunday School for many years. He moved to Savannah, Georgia in July, 2002. Surviving are his sons, William R. Vaughter, Jr. and Dr. James H. Vaughter and his wife, Faye, all of Savannah, Georgia; two grandsons, William Roger Vaughter III and Christopher M. Vaughter, both of New Orleans, Louisiana; his step-sons and stepdaughters-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Coger, of Boerne, TX, Bill and Chloe Coger, of Brevard, North Carolina, Steve and Beth Coger, of Danville, six step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were Saturday at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, conducted by The Reverend Victor H. Nixon. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Conway, Arkansas. Leota Gertrude White Veach, died early Sunday morning, October 8, 2000 at the home of her daughter, Tami Link. She had lived to see 85 years. She was born October 11, 1914 in the hills of Cedar Creek, AR, daughter of L. O, Sr. and Delia (Fink) White. She grew up and attended schools in Havana graduating from high school there. After school she moved to Tulsa, OK where she met and married William (Bill) Veach on September 5, 1947 in Sapulpa. She then went to work as a purchasing agent for Southwestern Porcelain in Sand Springs until 1969, when the family moved back to Cedar Creek, AR. She worked as a legal secretary in Russellville, AR and also worked for Mitchell's Drug Store in Danville. After the death of her husband, she moved back to Tulsa and managed the Versaille Apartments and when her health started to fail, she then moved to Ponca City to be closer to her daughter. While living in Ponca City, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Helen's guild. Her enjoyments included needlepoint, crocheting and most of all bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Veach; her parents, L. O. Sr. and Delia White; one daughter, Pat Lyon; two brothers, Oslyn White and L. O. White Jr. and one infant grandson, John Gregory Link.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Tami and Brent Link of Ponca City, OK and Betty and John Clark of Meeker, OK; two sisters, Sunshine Smith of Plainview, TX and Pauline and Marshall Nagle of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary was held at Grace Memorial Chapel October 10 with Rev. John Michalicka, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church presiding. Graveside service will be Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 2:00 p. m. at the Havana Cemetery in Yell County, Havana, AR. Burial will be under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Aureliano "Leo" Velasquez, age 43, of Danville, AR died Thursday, October 12, 2000. He was born May 29, 1957 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Juanita Rodriquez Velasquez and the late Samuel Velasquez. He was a self-employed construction worker and a part-time interpreter for the Yell County Sheriffs Department. He attended the Danville First Baptist Church.
She is survived by, his wife, Maura Martinez Velasquez of Danville, AR; two sons, Victor and Luis Velasquez of the home in Danville, AR; a daughter, Guissela Velasquez of the home; his mother, Juanita Rodriquez Velasquez of Guatemala City, Guatemala; a brother, Ramiro Velasquez of Glendale, CA; four sisters, Irma and Maria Eluvia Velasquez both of Los Angeles, CA, Silvia Velasquez of Guatemala City, Guatemala and Bertha Calvillo of Glendale, CA.

Frank Verselli, Jr. age 69, of Ola, AR died Saturday, September 22, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born January 28, 1932 in Meriden, CT to the late Frank Sr. and Rose Papallo Verselli. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Connecticut Highway Dept. a volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes, Lupus and Muscular Dystrophy and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meriden, CT.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Verselli and a sister, Mary Verselli.
Survivors are, one daughter and son-ion-law, Debbie and Ralph Stancil of Ola, AR; mother of his only daughter, Beverly Davis of Wallingford, CT; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Melissa Stancil ad Alexis Beltran of Los Angeles, CA and Michelle Stancil and Stephen Blankenship of Ola; adopted grandchildren, Dan and Stephanie Green of Ola; one brother, Salvator Verselli of Connecticut; one sister and brother-in-law, Georgette and Phillip Damico of Connecticut; and seven great-grandchildren, Brittany Green, Rosemary, Kimberlea and Mackenzie Blankenship, Logan Carter, Jessica and Lexie Beltran.

Bobby Dell Vess, age 78 of Rover, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Stoneybrook Nursing & Rehab in Benton. He was born November 2, 1931 in Havana, AR to the late George M. and Lois Liddie Clifton Vess. He was a Navy Korean War Veteran, carpenter and a member of the Plainview VFW Post 641.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Betty Jackson, Betty Witten and Lois Vess; brothers, G. L. and Henry Vess.

Douglas Randolph "Doug" Vess, age 73, of Plainview went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016, at his home. He was born May 4th, 1942, in Havana, Arkansas to the late George and Liddie Cliffton Vess. Doug worked for Thermogas in Danville for 25 years, and owned Vess Equipment in Dardanelle for many years. He was an avid auctioneer for 30 years, up until his death. He loved his community and supported it in many ways by giving of his time and love to individuals in need. He was an amazing Dad, Papa, and friend with a very caring & compassionate heart.

PLAINVIEW - G. L. Vess, age 55, of Plainview died Thursday, October 7, 1985, at Veterans Hospital at Little Rock. He was a native of Havana, a retired carpenter, son of the late George and Liddie Clifton Vess, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8525, and past commander of VFW District 6.
Survivors include his companion, Shirley; two sons, Jerry Vess of Bristow, Okla. and Paul Vess of Plainview; two stepsons, Mike Shepard of Conway and Vernon Middlebrook of the home; six brothers, Emory and Doug Vess of Havana, Adrian Vess of Texas, Henry Vess of Kansas, Bobby Vess of Plainview and Carl Vess of Oklahoma; a sister, Joy Bailey of Missouri, and four grandchildren.

Lucille Lawanda (Moore) Vess, age 87 of Havana, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at Mitchells Nursing Home. She went quietly to join her parents and many of her loved ones in heaven. She was born March 16, 1922 in Stratford, OK to the late Royce and Rosetta Taylor Moore. She was a bookkeeper for the Oral Roberts Ministry in Tulsa, and then with Dr. Rupp in Sand Springs, where the family eventually settled, and a member of the Havana Assembly of God Church. She was a devoted employee while remaining and loving and devoted mother and wife. She encouraged and supported Richard in all of his pursuits and adventures in his high school years, his military career and in his marriage, making whatever sacrifices possible to support him in those endeavors.
Lucille and her husband Emory married on June 1, 1940 at Havana, AR. She worked at Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, OK while Emory was serving in WWII. When he returned to the States, they moved to California, returning to Arkansas in the mid to late 1940s with their young son, Richard. Lucille and Emory returned to Arkansas in 1972, purchasing a chicken farm west of town which they later sold, moving back to Rocky Point where their lives together started. Lucille enjoyed being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Havana E. H. Club, and supported Emory in his involvement with the V. F. W. but most of all, she loved her church, the Havana Assembly of God. She and Emory were regular members and workers in the church. She remained faithful until her health prevented her from attending.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucy Burrows and Lorene Nipps; brothers, Luther (Luke) Moore, Leon Moore (Babe) and Lando Moore; and son, Richard Vess.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Emory Vess; sisters and brother-in-law, Loeva Clemons of Havana and Kathryn and Floyd Graves of Havana; sister-in-law, Liz Moore of Spencer, OK; brother-in-law, Doug Vess of Danville, AR; several nephews and nieces.

He was a Veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm, a member of the Boyce Woods VFW Post 2131 and the Disabled American Veterans in Russellville.

GayIon Douglas Vestal, 24, of Portland, died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the UAMS Hospital in Little Rock. He was a native of Danville and a resident of Portland all of his life. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1998 and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Monticello. He was a member of the Portland Baptist Church.

Leroy Vestal, age 71, of Danville, AR died Friday, October 2, 1998 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born March 2, 1927 in Danville, AR to the late Gube and Kate Randall Vestal. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, a farmer and owned and operated Vestal Dairy Bar in Danville for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Vestal and Archie Vestal.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pat McKinney Vestal; three sons, Chip Vestal of Little Rock, Shane Vestal and Chad Vestal both of Danville; one daughter, Patty Schillinger of Little Rock; two sisters, Glenda May Jackson and Georgia Putman both of Danville, AR; three grandsons; four granddaughters; and a host of nephews, nieces, friends and other relatives.

Margaret E. Vestal, age 71, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, January 9, 2005. She was born November 4, 1933 at Dardanelle to the late J.D. and Jessie Turner. She was retired from Tyson Foods, after 33 years of employment.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Mobley; two sisters, Grace Turner, May R. Turner; brother, J.D. Turner Jr.; grandson, Seth Brewer.

Patricia L. "Pat" Vestal, age 81, of Danville passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Arkansas Hospice at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock. Pat was born July 20, 1933, in Morgantown, Kentucky to the late Oakley Everett & Dora Butler McKinney. She was a 1954 graduate of Jewish Hospital College of Nursing in St Louis, MO. Bobby G. Via, 68 of Ola, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born May 18, 1940 in Centerville, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Ruby George Via. He was a member of the Casa Masonic Lodge, Grand Lodge of Herford, Texas, Khiva Shrine Temple of Amarillo, Texas, and Scottish Rites of Free Masonry of Lubbock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister; and a stepdaughter.

Julene Reddell Via, 78, of Dardanelle, AR, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville. The daughter of Mitchell and Elsie Reddell, she was born February 20, 1933 in Newton County, AR. She attended Oakland Heights Assembly of God, Victory Assembly of God, and Fallingwater Pentecostal Church. Julene was always happy fishing, camping at her old home site and enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time in church and loved family gatherings. Julene was known as a trainer of grandchildren in the ethics of work.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are four sons Leonard Chisum and wife Phyllis of Hector, Troy Chisum and wife Kathy of Dover, Roy Chisum and wife Charlotte of Hector, and Mike Chisum and wife Lesa of Dardanelle; a daughter Helen Campbell and husband Dewayne of Dover; eight brothers Clinton Reddell, Clayton Reddell, Wilburn Reddell, James Reddell, David Reddell, Argie Reddell, Sylvie Reddell, and Junior Reddell; a sister Mary Sue Allen; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
