Storment, Minnie Alice (Phillips)

Minnie Alice Storment, 72, of Plainview died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her home. Minnie was born March 1, 1943 in Jefferson City, Missouri to the late Ulysses L. and Viola Ricker Phillips. She was a retiree of Tyson Foods, Dardanelle and Plainview-Rover School. She loved cattle farming, working in her yard and being the local Avon lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Storment; and parents.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Charles Clark; sons Bobby Joe Storment and wife Regina of Atkins; Billy Don Storment and wife Deana of Hollis; granddaughters, Brittany Allen; Lauren, Allison, Abigail and Emma Storment.

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Minnie Ola Storment, age 98, died October 18, 1980. Survivors include a son, Joe Storment; a daughter, Mrs. Sally Gadberry; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Storment, Ray

Ray Storment, age 85, of Bluffton (Yell County), AR died Monday, February 14, 20000 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital at Little Rock, AR. A son of the late James F. and Jossie Barnett Storment, he was born November 9, 1914, in Yell County. He was a retired security guard for Detroit Edison, a Deacon of the Bluffton Baptist Church and a Mason.

He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Ruby Sloan and three brothers, Carl, Joe and James Storment.

He is survived by, his wife, Inez Storment; two step-sons, Jackie Aikman of Van Buren, AR and James Aikman of Paragould, AR; one stepdaughter, Saundra Briggs of Russellville, AR; two brothers, Thomas Storment of Birta, AR and Harold Storment of Warren, MI; two sisters, Velma Dee Miller of East Point, MI and Johnnie Forrest of Plainview, AR; five step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday at the Bluffton Baptist Church with Dr. Melvin Landers officiating. Burial will be in the Bluffton Cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service. Rube Gerald Storment, age 82, died August 1st in Lake Forest, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Lewis Storment. He was born April 1, 1914 in Plainview, AR to William Oscar and Laura Storment. He was a graduate of Plainview High School, an army veteran of WWII, he was retired from the Los Angeles Public School system.

Ruth Elizabeth Storment, age 90, of Conway died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Heritage Living Center. She was born June 6, 1919 at Birta to the late James Franklin and Annie Laura Nelson McGhee.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Storment and a grandson, John Thomas J. T. Storment.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Mike and Marcia Storment of Dardanelle, Connie and Greg Boothe of Centerville, Patsy and Chris Humes of Greenbrier; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Storment, Thomas Madison

Thomas Madison Storment, 83, of Ola died Friday, August 25, 2006, at Conway Regional Medical Center. Born December 8, 1917, at Ola to the late James Franklin and Josephine Barnett Storment, he was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Ola United Methodist Church and Ola Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer and retired from Dixon Poultry Equipment.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, John Thomas Storment.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruth Tanner Storment of Ola; three children and spouses, Mike and Marcia Storment of Dardanelle, Connie and Greg Boothe of Centerville, Patsy and Chris Humes of Greenbrier; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Verna I. Storment, age 70, of Corvallis, Ore. formerly of Plainview, died Friday, March 22, 1985. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Storment of Corvallis, Ore. and Gary and Larry Storment of Hermiston, Ore.; her mother, Mrs. Grace McCoy of Plainview; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Cockman of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Mrs. Suda Ross of Plainview and Mrs. Joyce Burnett of Baldwin Park, Calif. and nine grandchildren.

Storms, John

John Storms, age 98, of Mt. Ida, AR passed away March 2, 2001 in the Montgomery County Nursing Home at Mt. Ida. He was born April 18, 1902 in Perry County to Edd and Doris Sims Storms. He was a member of Refuge Baptist Church of Story.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Elma Martin Storms and their infant child; his second wife, Beula Harper Storms and their son, E. W. Storms.

He is survived by three grandchildren, Wayne Storms of Visalia, CA, Marilyn Storms Souza of Exeter, CA and Teresa Storms Byeard of Porterville, CA; seven great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Stout, Billy Dave

Billy Dave Stout, 73 of Van Buren, AR, died November 17, 2007, culminating a courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Briggsville, AR, to Charlie Bill and May Tollison Stout. He was a 1952 graduate of Fourche Valley, a self-employed carpenter, and of the Pentecostal faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, parents, brother, Jack Stout, sisters, Anna Edwards, and Mary Ellen.

Survivors include two sisters, Joy Goodwin and Dorothy Busselle, brother-in-law Kenneth Edwards, and several nieces and nephews.

Leoda Stout, age 84, of Briggsville, AR died Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at Hill Top Nursing Home in Harrison. She was born February 20, 1915; in Briggsville, AR to the late Walter and Lillie Vaughn Bottoms. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Stout, Sr.; a son, Tom Stout, Jr. and a sister, Leona Elliott.

Survivors are one son, Robert Stout of Buna, TX; one daughter, Carolyn McLean of Harrison, Ar; one brother, Marvin Bottoms of Belleville, AR; six grandchildren, Bobby Stout, Sandy Stout, Kathy Stout, Eddie Stout, James Gray and Michael Gray and nine great-grandchildren.

Polly Jane Stout, 101, of Plainview, went home to her Lord Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. The daughter of George and Mary Samantha Hawkins, she was born October 26, 1913 in Briggsville. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview. Polly enjoyed reading, fishing, flower and vegetable gardening, and keeping her yard pristine.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Henry Wesley Stout; parents; three brothers, Sam Hawkins, Fred Hawkins, and Dick Hale.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lea Rice, Dean Blalock (Harold); son Raymond "Butch" Stout (Betty Sue) all of Plainview; two granddaughters, Ramona Oates (Thomas) of Memphis, TN, Susie Bird (Charlie) of Russellville; three great-grandchildren, James Oates, Kristy Konkel (Joseph), Brandon Bird; great-great-granddaughter, Kayetlynn Kaylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Raymond "Butch" Stout, 76, of Plainview, AR, passed away, Monday, November 21, 2016, at his home in Plainview. The son of Henry and Polly Hawkins Stout, he was born March 4, 1940, in Bigelow, AR. He was a graduate of Plainview High School. He married Betty Mott Stout, on July 18, 1961 in Plainview. Butch was a Repairman with Firestone for 35 years and was a member of the Plainview Fire Dept, for 10 years. Butch was a member of the Plainview First Baptist Church where he was an usher. Butch enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents.

Butch is survived by his wife, Betty of Plainview; daughter and son in law Susie and Charlie Bird of Russellville; a granddaughter Kristy and Joseph Konkel of Atkins; a grandson Brandon Bird and Michelle Moates of Plainview; a great granddaughter Kayet-lynn Kaylor of Atkins; Two sisters Mary Lea Rice and Dean and husband Harold Blalock of Plainview; a niece Ramona and Thomas Oates of Memphis,TN and a great nephew, James Oates of Memphis,TN.

She was born May 15, 1920 in Bluffton, Arkansas to the late Urie & Eddie Daniels Swaim. She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. She loved life, traveling and politics. Before Mary and her husband Larry retired in Danville they had lived and worked in San Francisco, New York, Florida, Texas and Arkansas. They owned & operated businesses in Florida, Texas, and Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence "Larry" Straker and sister Eddie Grace Honey.

Survivors include sister, Ann Wisner of Danville, nephew, John T and Stephanie Honey of Abilene, Texas, Alan and Samantha Wisner of Ft.Worth, Texas; niece, Dana and Jerry Spears of Briggsville; and several great nieces and nephews.

Wanda G. Strickland, 89, of Overland Park, KS, passed away January 6, 2013. Wanda was born November 21, 1923, in Perry, Arkansas, to A. B. and Lanta (McGhee) Green. She was a graduate of Arkansas State Teacher's College. After which she taught in the Plainview-Rover School District. In 1945 she met her husband William A. Strickland, Jr. They were married June 2, 1946.

She is survived by her husband William A. Strickland, Jr.; sons Robert A. Strickland (Ellen), son, David A. Strickland; daughter-in-law Wanda Reece Strickland, and three grandchildren; Lea, Rebekah, and Matthew. Contributions in memory of Wanda may be made in lieu of flowers to the Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Road, Lenexa, Kansas, 66215.

Strickland, William Alexander

William Alexander Strickland, Jr., age 89, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away June 21, 2013, at Lakeview Village. He was the first born of three children to William A. and Kathleen Turner, who entered this world on July 25, 1923, in Dover, Arkansas. In 1929 he moved with his family to Atkins and then to Plainview in 1938, where his father owned and operated a general drug store for the remainder of his life. In 1939, with the encouragement of his father he began his freshman year at Arkansas Tech, Russellville, Arkansas, and the following year he entered the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy in Memphis and graduating nine continuous academic quarters later on February 10, 1943. Immediately thereafter, The Memphis Draft Board assigned him to the U.S. Naval Corp a Covington, Tennessee. Instruction, training and academics were taught at William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri, the University of Iowa; additional training at Norman, Oklahoma resulted in advanced flight status. The Japanese Military capitulation on July 26, 1945 brought to a halt advanced Navy flight duty and he was released from military duty. On June 2, 1946 he married Wanda Green in the Plainview Methodist Church in Arkansas, and then moved to Hot Springs where he worked as a representative for the Upjohn Company. In 1947 they had a son, William Alva. In 1950, they relocated to Madison, Wisconsin for William to enter the University of Wisconsin to enroll in graduate school to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry (Pharmaceutics). While living in Madison, they were blessed with two more sons-namely Robert Allen and David Arnold. The Ph.D. degree was granted by the University of Wisconsin in June 1955. Upon receiving his Ph.D. he taught at the University Of Arkansas School Of Pharmacy until offered the Dean's position at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in July 1967 where he remained until he retired in June, 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; and a son, William Alva "Dub" Strickland.

Survivors include two sons, David A. Strickland of St. Louis, Missouri, and Robert Allen Strickland of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brother, Kerry Strickland of Greenbrier; and a sister Kathleen Bell of Russellville.

Ernest Allen Strnad, age 59, of Dardanelle, AR, died Friday. He was born January 13, 1938 in Dardanelle, AR. He was the son of the late Mary Ginger Strnad, a farmer of the Arkansas National Guard and retired from Dow Chemical in Russellville.

Survivors are two sons, Bobby and Scott Strnad both of Dardanelle; a daughter, Bonita Freeman of Russellville; adopted daughter, Heather Hall of Louisiana; father, Paul J. Strnad of Dardanelle; three brothers, Paul and Stanley Strnad both of Dardanelle and Jimmy Strnad of Houston, TX; a sister, Mary Lou Qualls of Dardanelle; seven grandchildren and three adopted grandchildren.

DARDANELLE - Lola Faye Strnad, 76, of Dardanelle died Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born September 25, 1936 at Carden Bottoms to the late Hoyt and Abie Eubanks Boothe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wade Boothe; one sister, Ola Campbell; one nephew, Randy Campbell.

Paul Edwin Strnad age 77 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born March 2, 1936 at Dardanelle to the late Paul Joseph George and Mary Cinger Strnad. He was a Catholic, member of the Army National Guard for 10 years and an employee of Tyson for 43 years where he was a chiller operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lola Strnad; one brother Ernest Strnad.

Paul Joseph Strnad, age 96, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, September 8, 2001 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born January 25, 1905 in Dardanelle, AR, the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Smolik Strnad. He was a farmer, carpenter and a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a son Ernest Strnad; three half-sisters, Josie Chapp, Mary Klouber and Anna Vetrosky.

Survivors include his sons, Paul E., Jimmy Lee and Stanley Strnad all of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter, Mary Lou Qualls, Dardanelle, AR; a sister, Rose House of Dardanelle, AR; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mary Alice Strode, age 94, of Belleville, AR was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 4, 2008. She was born to Lee and Nina Hudson Brock, September 20, 1913 near Piney, in Johnson County. She married W. H. "Bill" Strode on September 16, 927 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She came to know the Lord when she was 12 years old in Henryetta, OK. She attended Christians Meeting in the Name of The Lord Assembly in Belleville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two daughters, Willie Mae Strode and Shirley Mae Strode; a nephew, Jackie Brock (raised by Mary); a sister, Leola Brock; four brothers, Phil Brock, Sam Brock, Jack Brock and Gene Brock.

She is survived by a daughter, Pearlie & husband Victor Flesher of Belleville; a niece Patty (also raised by Mary) and husband Don and daughter Kathryn Condley of Appleton; a sister, Lou Brown of Little Rock and numerous nieces and nephews.
