Stinnett, Tommy Nelson

DARDANELLE -- Tommy Nelson Stinnett, 65, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, January 14, at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock. Born February 7, 1937, at Delaware, Ark., he was the son of the late Earl L. and Pauline Bolden Stinnett, and a 1955 graduate of Dardanelle High School. He served many years on the Dardanelle Planning Commission, and was a member of the Yell County Mounted Patrol and International Union of Operating Engineers.

Survivors include his wife of almost 46 years, Bobbie Sue Esch Stinnett; a son, Dr. Chris Stinnett and his wife, Elizabeth; and two grandchildren, Christina Stinnett and Thomas Stinnett II, all of Dardanelle.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Durvin Cemetery by Jack Lawyer. Burial will be by Cornwell Funeral Service. Pallbearers include Charlie Banks, Bill Bright, John Drilling, Roy Luther George, Brad Hodges, Donnie Hodges, Bill Pitts and Jim Woodson. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Stoddard, John Clifton

John Clifton Stoddard, age 73, of Atkins died Thursday, June 28, 2017, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. He was born October 21, 1943, at Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late John Wilson Studdard and Erma Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wilson Studdard, Erma Thompson; his step father, Robert Kennedy; step father, Bob Reed and one niece, Melanie Rhodes.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Chesser and husband Jack of Atkins; sister, Danna Hallmark of Sulphur, OK; sister, Jeanette Kennedy Hale of Russellville; brother, Billy Kennedy of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Hannah Watson of Beebe, Andreu Watson of Atkins; great grandson, Easton Stillman of Beebe; one nephew, Russell Hale and wife Heather of Waldron; great nephew, Chase Hale of Waldron; great niece, Knylea Rhodes of Russellville.

Visitation was held Monday, July 3, 2017, from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the chapel prior to the memorial service at 4:00 P.M. Stogdell, Charles "Rusty

Charles "Rusty Stogdell, age 74, of Ola, AR died Sunday, August 10, 2003 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born in Texas on January 14, 1929 son of the late Loyd Stogdell and Estelle Perm Kratzer. He was a retired electrician.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and William Stogdell and a sister Margaret Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include his wife, Evelean Hightower Stogdell; two sons, Mike Crawford of Little Rock and Steve Crawford of London; five daughters, Brenda Campbell of Havana, Sheri Fausset and Alisa Crawford of Plainview, Karen Crawford of Fayetteville and Wanda Allen of Fort Smith; a sister, Jewell Opseth of Dardanelle; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Stogdell, William K.

William K. Stogdell, age 62, a resident of Plainview, AR died Saturday, January 29 2000 at Ola, AR. He was born March 23, 193-1 in Los Angeles, CA to Lloyd and Ivy Estelle Penn Stogdell He was a truck driver and Navy Veteran of Korean and Vietnam Conflicts.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Albert Stogdell.

Survivors include, a daughter, Suzanne Copsy of Burbank, CA; one brother, Charles Rusty Stogdell of Ola, AR; two sisters, Jewel Opseth of Dardanelle, AR and Margaret Fitzpatrick of Anchorage, AK and a host of nieces and nephews.

Stogsdill, Erna E.

Mrs. Erna E. Stogsdill, age 73, of Hollis died Monday, December 1, 1986 at her home. She is the widow of John W. Stogsdill and a daughter of the late W. E. and Arizona Keener Blair. She was a member of the Valley Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Darrell Stogsdill of Jessieville; a daughter-in-law, Jewell Stogsdill of Jessieville; a brother, Joe B. Blair of Hollis; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Peal of Farmersville, Calif., Tina Blair of Ola; three foster brothers, Henry, Homer and Billy Wells, all of Hollis; a foster sister, Mrs. Willa Dean Blythe of Hollis; a grandson, John W. Stogsdill of Jessieville, a granddaughter, Karen Ann Stogsdill of Jessieville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the Valley Home Baptist Church by the Rev. Tommy Stover and the Rev. Jimmy Scott. Burial will be in the Nooner Cemetery. Linuel Ray Stogsdill, age 42, of Aly, AR died Friday, May 13, 1994 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1951 at Morrilton. He was an operation manager and buyer with Cooper Building Materials in Hot Springs Village and a member of Hollis Jesus Name Pentecostal Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Lois Powell Stogsdill, a son, Leon Ray Stogsdill, a daughter Autumn Marie Stogsdill and one brother, Wesley Stogsdill.

Survivors include his wife, Branda Lewis Stogsdill of Aly; a daughter, Leandra Jean Stogsdill of Aly; a sister, Brenda Stogsdill Grouse of Hollis; his father-in-law, Leon Lewis of Aly; his mother-in-law, Shelby Lewis of Aly and one aunt, Iva Murphy of Hot Springs. Bennie Stokes, 66 of Aly, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in Aly, on August 16, 1937. He was the son of the late Marvin and Sally Parker Stokes. He was a retired farmer and logger, and a member of the Aly Church of God.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Estlene Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sue Whiley Stokes, children and spouses, Treva and Mervin Lambert of Story, Johnny and Amanda Stokes, Mike and Brenda Stokes, Tim and Debbie Stokes, all of Aly, Freda and Stan Miller of Mt. Ida, grandchildren, Scotty Lambert, Holly Stokes, Jessica Stokes, Chasity Wheeler, Ty Stokes, Morgan Lambert, and Mesa Miller, and sisters, Lavern McGill, Ruby Stewart of Story and Cora Swaim of Aly.

Kathyleen Stokes, age 54, of Waveland died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at her home. She was born April 6, 1951, in Sacramento, California to the late Cleveland Nelson and Dorothy Lewis Alverson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Sallie Stokes, age 85, of Aly died Thursday, August 27, 1992 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was the daughter of the late John Jefferson and Lottie Pool Parker. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of the Aly Church of God.

Miss Stephanie Ann Stokes, age 15, of Rover, AR died Thursday, March 19, 1998 at Arkansas Children's Hospital at Little Rock, AR. She was born July 30, 1982 at Danville and was a 10th grade student at Fourche Valley School.

Survivors include her father, Steve Stokes of Delaware, AR; her mother and step-father, Telitha and Arnold Bair of Rover; a half-brother, Kyle Bair of Rover; two step-brothers, Raney Bair of Belleville, AR and Tommy Bair of Bluffton, AR; a step-sister, Rebecca Tidwell of Dardanelle, AR; her paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Stokes of Delaware, AR and her maternal grandmother, Doris McConnell of Bluffton, AR.

Funeral service was held March 22, 1998 at the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church in Gravelly by the Rev. Logan Robinson. Burial was in the Parks Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service of Danville, AR. Stokes, Vashti Louise Buckman

Vashti Louise Buckman Stokes, age 97, of Fayetteville, AR, died Monday, June 12, 2000 at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1902 at Havana, AR, the daughter of Shell and Addie Denton Buckman. She was a homemaker and baby sat for one family for over 25 years. She taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She attended the Normal School in Russellville (now known as Arkansas Tech).

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshal Stokes in 1980, her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by, one son, Joseph F. Stokes of Bowling Green, KY; two daughters, Mary Louise Stokes of Fayetteville, AR and Martha E. Hurst of Flippin, AR; several nieces, nephews and close friends, Dr. Jacob C. Agee and family.

Service was June 15 at First Assembly of God Church officiated by Rev. Wayne Danner with eulogy by Dr. Kim Agee. Burial was at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Stokes, William Earl "Bill"

William (Bill) Earl Stokes, 65, of Waveland, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Bill was born September 20, 1950, to the late Lula Mae (Weathcrall) Stokes and Clark Allen Stokes, in Gustine, California. The family lived several places throughout his childhood, but Arkansas would become home, where he would raise his children and enjoy life. Bill enjoyed adventure and lived life to the fullest with his children and grandchildren. When he was not helping others, he could be found on Blue Mountain Lake or somewhere in the middle of the Ouachita forest teaching his grandchildren the joys of being in the middle of God's creation.

Bill is survived by his Daughter Stacey Archer, and husband Scott of Fort Smith, His grandchildren, Tori and Austin Archer, both of Fort Smith, and one brother, James Stokes and wife Trish, of Franklin, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kathy Stokes and one son, William Shannon Stokes.

The family hosted a visitation at the Archer home, 11709 Springridge Dr, Fort Smith, AR, on Tuesday April 5th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at Blue Mountain Lake Amphitheater on Wednesday, April 6th at 1:00 pm. Stone, Earl

Earl Stone, 72, who resided near Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Turner Memorial Hospital in Ozark. He was born November 11, 1938 at the foot of Petit Jean Mountain in Conway County, Arkansas to the late William Allen Stone and Ruby Laverne (Marple) Stone. Earl was a carpenter and worked on highway construction.

Edith E. Stone, age 81, of Danville, AR died Thursday, June 21, 2001. She was born September 5, 1919 in Chico, Texas to the late Vester Lufin and Myrtle Adelia Cantwell Morrow. She was a mother and homemaker.

Eva Mae Stone age 87 of Delaware, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2011. She was born January 15, 1924 at Delaware to the late Ambrose Richard and Louella Parsons Johnson. She was a member of the Highland Assembly of God Church in Indiana for 54 years and was a Sunday School Teacher for 45 years before becoming a member of the Delaware Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her great grandson, William Stone; son-in-law, Phillip Ball and 8 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Twila Stone of Lake Station, Indiana; daughter, Gail Ball of Delaware; sister, Mary Hux of Lubbock, TX; three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

DARDANELLE - William Allen Stone, age 78, of Route 1, Casa, died Saturday, May 24, 1986 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was a native of Conway County, son of the late John and Myrtle Moore Stone, a retired employee of Winrock Farms and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Marple Stone; two sons, Elton Stone of Little Rock and Earl Stone of Casa; three daughters, Floy Ashe and Faye Crow of Little Rock, and Freeda Meek of Casper, Wyo.; four brothers, Orbe, Homer, Johnny and James Stone of Little Rock; a sister, Lucy Hood of Little Rock; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a step-grandchild.

William Lawrence Stone, 21, of Delaware died Friday, July 6, 2007, in Dardanelle. He was born July 19, 1985, in East Chicago, Ind. and was a carpenter.

Survivors include his father, Darrell Stone of Hammond, Ind. his mother, Brandy Rarity of Portage, Ind., brothers, Joshua and Jason Stone, both of Hammond, Ind.; a sister, Brand Rarity of Portage, Ind.; grandparents, Eddie and Twila Stone of Lakestation, Ind.; great-grandmother, Eva Stone of Delaware; a special aunt, Gail Ball of Delaware; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Bonnie Lee Storment, age 88 of Plainview died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born June 23, 1916 in Steve to the late James "Jimmy" and Laura Eubanks Ladd, a bookkeeper for Ladd Furniture in Dardanelle and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Plainview.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Storment, sons, Billy Charles Storment, Joe Donald Storment, Bobby Joe Storment, a granddaughter, Lehde Facundus and a son-in-law, Larry Breashears, Sr.

Survivors are daughters and spouse, Paula and Dennis Facundus of Russellville, Betty Breashears of Little Rock, sister, Pauline Dawson of Plainview, daughter-in-law, Minnie Storment of Plainview, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Storment, Inez (Aikman)

Inez Aikman Storment, 93, of Bluffton passed away March 19, 2014, after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born April 10, 1920, at Bluffton to Monroe H. and Hester Whorley Wood. She was an active member of the Bluffton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school classes and played the piano for more than 50 years. Her home was graciously opened each Sunday afternoon to numerous pastors, their families and friends. In the community she was always available to bake a pie or cake for anyone in need. Church and family were her highest priorities. Being at home with her family was her greatest joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Herman H. "Wolf" Aikman and Ray J. Storment; two brothers, C. T. Wood and Gifford Wood; five sisters, Lillian Reed, Mary Kate Cluck, Berline Patton, Christean Hunnicutt and Lorene Clayton and one son-in-law, Ted Lyons.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie H. and Berdina J. Aikman of Van Buren and James Edward and Patricia Aikman of Paragould; a daughter, Saundra Lyons of Danville; a brother-in-law, Duwayne Hunnicutt; a sister-in-law, Lela Wood; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Scott Schrader, Russell Aikman, Sara Ballentine, John and Annette Aikman and Chris and Lora Briggs; six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Madison and Nathan Schrader, Lexi and Matthew Aikman and Ella Ballentine; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was born April 8, 1912 in Birta, Yell County, Arkansas to the late James F. and Josie E. Barnett Storment. He was a retired farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church, Ola, AR.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sibyl Goodson Storment; two brothers, Carl and James Storment and a sister, Ruby Sloan.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Fred and Sydney Storment of Acton, Massachusetts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Polly Anna and Paul Osborne of Fraser, Michigan and Phala Irene and Keith Gendreau of Richmond, Michigan; three brothers, Harold and Thomas Storment both of Ola, AR and Ray Storment of Bluffton, AR; two sisters, Velma Dee Miller of Fast Point, Michigan and Johnnie Forrest of Plainview, AR; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of many years, Bonnie Ladd Storment; two daughters, Betty Breashears of Little Rock and Paula Facundas of Ola; brother, Lawrence Storment of New Mexico; five sisters, Blanche Fair of Oklahoma, Martha Dollar of Hot Springs, Juanita McCreery of Texas, Marie Blackman of Hot Springs and Virginia Wurster of Florida; four grandsons, Larry Breashears, Jr. Bobby Joe Storment, Billy Don Storment and Matthew Facundas and one granddaughter, Caroline Breashears and two great-grandchildren.

Juanita Lorene Storment, 90, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1921 at Carden Bottoms to the late John Dewey and Jessie Bell Moore Turner. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle. She loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Carrie Storment; one great- granddaughter, Caden Storment; three sisters, Grace Turner, Margaret Vestal and an infant sister; and one brother, J.D. Turner.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Joe Storment of Dardanelle; five children, Charles Roper, Chris Patterson, Billy Joe Storment, Barbara Kinsey, and Robert Storment; brother, Paul Turner, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Storment, Lawrence "Pop"

Lawrence "Pop" Storment drove his wagon and team of mules through those pearly gates on May 5, 2007 with "Wart" and his Heavenly Father waiting with open arms and big smiles. He was born in Plainview, AR, on September 11, 1920, the son of Oscar William and Laura Coker Storment. Lawrence married "his shadow, Juanita "Wart" Modene Adaire on July 4, 1942 in Plainview, AR. He joined the Air Force in July of 1941 and was discharged in November of 1945 as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed by Duval Potash Mines in 1951 and retired in 1985. He served on the DSP Federal Credit Union Board for several years. He was a member of the Westside Assembly of God Church (later Calvary Assembly of God) and served as a member on the Board of Deacons for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Lawrence is survived by his five children, Ray and Diamantina Storment of Las Cruces, Susan Campbell, Brenda and Bobby Northcutt, Dottie and Donnie Rutherford all of Carlsbad, and Janet and Jerry Edwards of Edmond, OK; 4 sisters, Blanche Fain, Virginia Wurster, Juanita McCreery, and Marie Blackman; 2 sisters-in-law, Ophelia Whitlow and Pauline Whitlow; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
