Standridge, Nellie

Nellie Standridge, 83, of Russellville died Thursday, June 10, 1999 at Russellville. Born June 22, 1915, in Pope County, she was the daughter of the later James David and Sarah Katherine Nichols Daily, widow of Alonzo M. Standridge, and attended Lurton Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by an adopted son, Ronald "Red Smith; a brother Ed Daily; and six sisters, Annie Mae McNabb, Mary Girardot, Bertie Oswalt, Hazel Holder, Clarendia Parsons and Arlena Miller.

Survivors include a son Dudley Standridge of Pelsor; five daughters, Irene Ford of Dover, Malinda Brown of Russellville, Maxine Bumgarner of Danville, Kathleen Campbell of Belleville and Susie Tennison of Pelsor, three stepsons, Clifford Standridge of Coeua D'Alene, Idaho, Eulis Standridge of Dover and Maisen Standridge of Russellville; a stepdaughter, Cornelia Cabral of Russellville; a brother, Robert Daily of Donaldson; two sisters, Viola Davis of Oak Grove, La. and Myrtle Clayton of Canton, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; and 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Reba Faye "Hamilton" Standridge age 91 of Dardanelle died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1921 at Conway County, Arkansas to the late Robert and Iler Chappell Hamilton. She attended the Slaty Crossing Freewill Baptist Church, a home maker and she loved embroidering for family and nurses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Loyd Standridge; three brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her two sons, Windell Standridge and wife Patsy, Michael Standridge and wife Susan all of Dardanelle; one daughter, Diann Land and husband Billy of Dardanelle; four grandchildren, Billy Land Jr, Daniel Land both of Dardanelle, Timothy Land of Russellville, David Standridge of Georgia; two great grandchildren, Hayley and Katelynn Land and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Denver Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery. Standridge, Richard Wayne "Rick"

Richard "Rick" Wayne Standridge Sr., 51, of Dover died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at his home. He was born June 10, 1964, in Russellville. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and was a truck mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and one brother, Paul.

Survivors include his son, Richard Wayne Standridge Jr.; his father and step-mother, John Paul and Sharon Standridge of Harkey's Valley; his mother and step-father, Leta and Jack Miller of London; three brothers, John, Delbert, and George Standridge; half-brother, Wayne Gray; and grandchild, Randle Standridge.

Standridge, Roy Gene

Roy Gene Standridge, Sr. age 54, a resident of Plainview, AR, formerly of Little Rock, AR died Monday, August 16, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville. He was born May 19, 1945 at Little Rock, AR to E. W. and Gertha (Martin) Standridge. He was a member of the Hilltop Church of God at Nimrod.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Teddy Standridge and one sister, Judy Standridge.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Standridge of Plainview, AR; two sons, Roy Gene Standridge, Jr. of Roland, AR and Cody Standridge of Plainview, AR; one daughter, Tara Ashcraft of No. Little Rock, AR; One brother and sister-in-law, Martin R. Sr. and Marsha Standridge of Russellville; special cousin, Patsy Hale of Springfield, AR; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday, August 19, 1999 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Sis. Dortha Stewart. Toy Standridge, 100, of Mena (Polk County), a retired farmer and widower of Mrs. Ninnie Standridge, died Thursday. He was a Baptist.

Veda Enid Standridge, age 76, of Charleston, AR. died Wednesday, August 12, 1998 at Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston, AR. She was the retired owner of The Razorback Restaurant in Dover.

Willie Jerry Bill Standridge, age 71 of Centerville, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born September 23, 1937 to the late Joe Standridge and LaAtress Bailey. He retired from the Railroad after 33 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Peggy Standridge.

Verna Mae Stanford, 89 of Dardanelle died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Sherwood. She was born September 25, 1914 at Sharon, VT, to the late Frank and Gertrude Badger. She worked for Pfeiffer-Blass, then later at Dillard's. She was a member of the Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Stanford.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Wells of Saint Cloud, FL, and Bruce Wells of Christmas, FL; daughters and sons-in-laws, Janet and A. J. Karla Gayle Stanton, 48, of Russellville, died, May 19, 2016. She was a faithful member of the Refuge Church. She was in accounting and customer relations at Bridgestone/Firestone for over 25 years and a member of numerous community organizations.

Reba Lucille Ramey Stanton, age 70, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at the Havana City Hall from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on June 5th. Lucille was born on December 5, 1945, in Moran, Texas to the late W.C. Ramey and Clytic Shott Ramey. She was the youngest of six children. She grew up and graduated from high school in Arkansas and lived there until 1986. She was the mother of two children, Paul Mac Stanton and Lucinda Stanton Stephens and grandmother of two grandsons, Corbett Stephens and Carder Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bill Ramey.

Stapleton, Charles D.

Charles D. Stapleton, 63, of Danville was killed in a car-truck accident Saturday about four miles west of Havana on Highway 10. State Trooper Richard Powell said the accident happened about 9:30 a.m. and that Stapleton was apparently killed instantly. He said that Stapleton had started to pass a pickup, and had apparently seen the pulpwood truck involved in the accident approaching from the west and had pulled back behind the pickup. As he did so, he ran off the right shoulder of the highway, then pulled back across the highway into the path of the truck. The truck hit the right side of the car and both ended up off the highway on the south side. L.E. Fields, 46, of Russellville, driver of the truck, was not hurt. Stapleton was a retired farmer and had been a Free Will Baptist preacher since 1960.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Lampkin Stapleton; two sons, Earl of Danville and A.L. of Havana; two daughters, Hugh of Ola and Bill of Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Rhinehart of Paris and Mrs. Margaret Doom of Okemah, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

Stapleton, Effie Gene (Morris)

The Lord called a sweet servant home May 19, 2014. Dorothy EffieGene Morris Stapleton, age 81, lived a complete and Christ-centered life. Her passing leaves great sorrow, but her joy lives on within her family. Nothing on this earth was more important to her than her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her great happiness, and she counted all of her family great blessings from the Lord. At age 16 she became a charter member of Ranger Free Will Baptist Church, and at the time of her death she was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Russellville.

EffieGene was preceded in death by her parents, JB and Frances Bullock Morris, one sister, Lenore Hall, and six brothers -- Norman, John Delbert, James, Ray, AD, and Arnold Morris.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Rev. Earl Stapleton; four daughters, LaJean Wilson and husband Chuck of Danville, Lisa Sponel and husband David of Dardanelle, Sheila Trusty and husband Jim Bob of Danville, Kim Foster and husband Marvin of Russellville; and one son, Frank Stapleton, and wife Renee of Hot Springs. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chip Wilson and wife Alison of Springdale, CaraJean Loyd and husband Matt of Russellville, Marissa Trusty of Russellville, Jay Trusty of Danville, Andrea Foster of Russellville, Lindsay James and husband Jeremiah of Jonesboro, Chance Packard and wife Ashley of Hot Springs, and Drew Packard and wife Kristi of Bentonville; seven great-grandchildren, Cash Wilson, Will Wilson, and Mick Wilson, Abby James, Blakely Packard, Gage Packard, and AJ Packard. EffieGene is survived by one brother, Lee Morris, and wife Mary of Hot Springs, three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Morris, Willa Morris Kennedy, and Susie Morris Harter, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Most of her working career was spent managing the office of the Yell County Board of Education for 26 years, retiring in 1998. Despite the long hours of work and caring for a large family, she could always be counted on to bake a birthday, shower, or wedding cake. Her cakes were works of art and so delicious that they became known throughout the community as "EffieGene Cakes". As a pastor's wife for decades, she was a friend to those who needed comfort, always ready to provide a meal and a sympathetic ear. She served along with her husband in the ministry God had given them. She loved nature and the beauty of God's creation, which she expressed through her creative talents as a poet, seamstress, and cook.

Visitation will be at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville from 6-8 on Tuesday, May 20. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 21, at 2:00 at First Free Will Baptist Church, 1103 East L Street, in Russellville. Pallbearers will be Earl Steen, Dwayne Helton, Bill Pendergraft, Paul Hall, Dr. Compy George, and Earl Lusk. Stapleton of Johnson County at the age of 23 years, spent over 50 years in Logan county and to this union ten children were born.

She is survived by, her husband, Baxter Starr of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Doyle Wayne and Peggy Starr of Alexander, AR; two sons-in-law, J. M. Baxter Willard Starr, 91, of Christianburg, Virginia died August 3, 2005. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, a logger and farmer. He brought joy to many with his love of a beautiful yard, garden and flowers.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Atha Mae (Barnett) Starr and two daughters, Floyle Sue Kopf and Doris Delane Trout.

Velma Annie Starr, 97, of Havana passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St, Marys Hospital in Russellville. She was born May 2, 1919, in Havana, Arkansas to the late James Noble and Rhoda Ida (Capps) Gray. She was a mother and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents: grandson; James David "Jimmy" Starr, Jr.; great-grandsons, Todd Guido, Jeff Temple; daughter-in-law, Peggy Jean Price Starr; sisters, Ozella Widdoes, Grace Burns and Hazel Wicker.

Survivors include her husband of 76 years, W.C. Starr; son, James Starr and Brenda Gray of Dover; daughter and son-in-law, Syble and Frank Spillman of Fayette, MS; six grandchildren, Deborah Starr of Dover, Pherbia and Glen Mynatt of Corinth, MS, Dallas and Alicia Strittman of Hamburg, MS, Deborah Spillman of Louisville, TN. Frankie and Kirk Cothren of Mission, Kansas, Marty Spillman of Bude, MS; 12 great-grandchildren, David, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Mikey, Jay, Anna Kolby, Weston, Mattie, Camren, Preston, Phillip, and Kevin; five great-great-grandchildren, Little Jay, Finn, Eva, and Jack. Starr will be arriving in December.

Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Moores Chapel Church in Waveland with Owen Yandell officiating. Burial will be at Moores Chapel Cemetery. William Codie Steele, age 20, of Casa, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Arkansas Childrens Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Bryan and Tina Steele on December 27, 1987 in Danville, AR. He was a beloved son, grandson, uncle, brother and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Wilma Steele.

He is survived by his father and mother, Bryan Lewis and Tina Bly Steele of Casa; three brothers, Bryan Thomas Steele, and sister-in-law, Beverlee Sinks Steele of Ola, Joshua Rager of Casa, Anthony Kitts of Casa; one sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Jimmy Williams of Casa; sister-in-law, Amanda Rager of Roland; grandmother, Vesta Steele of Dover; grandparents, Odie and Pat Bly of Birta, and Phillip and Donna Vogl of San Antonio, TX; great-grandmother, Thelma Holland of Plainview; one nephew and five nieces, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held today, December 17, 2008, 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church in Casa, AR with Brother Joe Phillips residing.
