Nathalie Fryar Smith, age 83, of Havana went to be with the Lord Monday, March 19, 2012 at Mitchell's Nursing Home. She was born June 15, 1928 to William Thomas "Will" & Winnie Springfield Baughn Fryar at Corinth, Arkansas. On June 5, 1948 she married the love of her life Lonnie Smith.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, brother, Udell Fryar and sisters, Pauline Eudy and Willa Dale Buckman.
She is survived by her daughters, Pasty Fredrick of Havana and Debbie Phillips of Danville; grandsons Alan "Wade" Fredrick, Nathan Marcus Phillips and Ryan Thomas Phillips; sister Marie Mosely and Boyce; brothers-in-law Harold Smith and Ada Sue of Dardanelle and Glen Buckman of Belleville; sister-in-law Florene Smith of Mena; nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends.
Funeral service was March 22, 2012 at Havana First Baptist Church. Burial was at Havana Cemetery. Pallbearers included Bill Eudy, Kenny Smith, Chris Buckman, Mike Smith, Jake Smith and Keith Smith. Okla Cummins Smith, age 90, a resident of Plainview, AR died Saturday, June 1, 1996 at Mitchell's Nursing Home at Danville. She was born on October 6, 1905 at Atkins, AR to William and Nettie Younger Cummins. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ.
She was the widow of the late Chester A. Smith, and preceded in death by two sons, William Reich, Joe W. Smith and one grandson, Billy Reich, one brother, Olin Cummins; two sisters, Erma Hamilton and Arkie Watson.
Survivors include one son, Charles H. Smith of Plainview; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Tuesday, June 4, 1996 at the Plainview Church of Christ officiated by Leland Hall and assisted by Marvin Catlett. Burial was at the Salem Cemetery at Plainview. Ola Mae Smith, age 64, a resident of Plainview, AR died Friday, December 26, 1997 at her home. She was born on July 5, 1933 at Benton, AR to Edward and Donnilee (Foster) Flood. She was an owner and operator of the Plainview Cafe. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainview.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Charles Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Smith of Plainview, AR; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Benita Smith and Bobby and Michelle Smith all of Plainview, AR; four grandsons, Bentley, Brandon, Tyler and Colton; two granddaughters, Becky Mae Fowler and Amanda Smith; one brother, Clarence Flood of Perryville, AR; two sisters, Peggy Miller of Colorado Springs, CO and Juanita Boyce of Plainview, AR; also several nieces and nephews.

Opal Lee Smith, age 91 of Tulsa, died Monday evening, May 6, 2002, at 11:45 p. m. He was born November 12, 1910 in Blue Ball (Dutch Creek), Arkansas, the son of Reuben Frank Smith and Donnie Artie Jamerson Smith. He retired from American Airlines in 1975 where he was employed as a welder for 23 years.
On April 29, 1935, he married Pauline Evelyn Ladd in Dardanelle, Arkansas. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary prior to his death.
His wife and three children, Franklin Rudolph Smith, Marigold Smith and Carolyn Ann Bruner survive him. His grandchildren also survive him Damon Loyd Smith of Owasso, Justin Wayne Smith of Yerington, NV, Kimberly Li Johnson, Juli Denette Forte, Lisa Dawn Hicks, Lori Lynn Radcliffe, Brett Sterling Forte, all of Mesa, AZ, Melanie Fawn Fowler, Michael Travis Bruner and Mark Dustin Bruner, all of Broken Arrow. 23 grandchildren; two great, grandchildren. Opal was predeceased by his great grandchild, Kendall; Keegan Smith.
He lived a life of simplicity, teaching each of us love, honor, integrity and dedication by the example he set. He will be greatly missed by all; that knew and loved him.

Patience Smith, the wife of Achilles Smith, and daughter of John and Jemima Sappington, was born near Lexington, Ky., March, 1799, and died in St. Francois County, Mo., July 12, 1859.
When a small girl, with her parents, she came to St. Louis County, Mo., where she lived for several years, and in January, 1821, was married to her now bereaved husband. In the spring of 1831, they removed to St. Francois County, where they lived till her death.
In the year 1834, the subject of this notice was converted under the ministry of the Rev. John Thomas and Joined the M.E. Church, South, and remained a faithful and exemplary member of the same till called to her reward. Though long and severely she suffered, with meek submission she bore it, and when the hour of dissolution came, she died as the pious one dies --- in hope of eternal life. DARDANELLE - Patsy Love Smith, 76, of Dardanelle departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Baptist Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1937, at Dardanelle to the late Aubry Love and Zelma Shepherd Smith. She was a retired bank teller for River Town Bank and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Russellville. She loved her animals, gardening, making crafts and flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one sister, Phyllis Chronister and husband Calvin of Dardanelle; one nephew, Clinton Chronister and wife Yvonne of Russellville and one great niece, Elizabeth Chronister of Russellville.

He retired after 42 years as crew chief mechanic for American Airlines. He was a member of the Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK and attended Havana First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Havana City Council for 13 years.

Pauline Evelyn Ladd Smith, 98, of Tulsa, OK passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was born December 7, 1916, in Waltreak, AR to Luther L. Ladd and Willie Mab Page Ladd. Her greatest joy was her family. She created a warm and welcoming home where she prepared wonderful meals, canned vegetables from her garden and went fishing every chance she had.
Pauline is survived by her son, Rudy Smith and his wife, JoAnn of Skiatook, OK; daughter, Marigold Smith of Mesa, AZ; and daughter, Carolyn Bruner and husband Gerald of Broken Arrow, OK. Additionally, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Opal Lee Smith, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and 1 great grandchild.

Pearl Teal Smith, age 99, daughter of the late David and Theodocia Smith Teal. She was born in the Cedar Creek Community, September 11, 1905 and attended Belleville Academy. She married Reuben Vandiver Smith August 5, 1924. She was a lifelong Methodist, a reporter for Mount Magazine Rural Record, a member of the Home demonstration club. She worked as a cook for the Atherton Baptist Homes of Alhambra in California until her retirement. Her main interests were her church where she was a member of the J. O. C Class in Alhambra and the United Methodist Women in Dardanelle. She was well traveled and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She loved her pets and was interested in the welfare of all animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Lievsay of Danville; a niece, Jewel Holland of Pittsburg, Kansas; and several cousins. She was greatly admired by all who had the privilege of her friendship, both in California and in Yell County, and her presence will be missed in the years ahead.
Cornwell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement, interment in Smith Cemetery, Havana, on land homesteaded by her ancestors. Peggy Smith, 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Smith of Aly, was killed Thursday when a truck accidentally backed over her as she was playing with two other children. State Trooper Richard Powell said the children were playing in a chicken house owned by the Smiths when a truck delivering wood shavings for the floor backed into the house. The truck was driven by Charles H. Anderson of Rover, Powell said.
Survivors besides her parents include two sisters, Linda Faye and Lesia; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stokes.

Ray Smith, age 58, of Dardanelle (formerly of Rogers) died Tuesday at National Park Hospital, Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born May 7, 1944 at Dardanelle; he was the son of Rosie Weaver Smith and the late Gilbert Smith. He was a route salesman and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his father; 2 daughters, Patty Kimberly June Smith; and a sister, Mary Alice Smith.

Robert Lee (Rube) Smith, 79 of Plainview, passed away April 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born April 2, 1933 in Plainview to Allen and Jessie Staggs Smith. He was a life- long member of Plainview Church of Christ and attended Plainview School. With the exception of leaving on separate occasions for work opportunities as a young man, Robert lived his entire life in Plainview. He always returned to the place he loved to call home, often telling people that he lived the majority of his life within one-quarter mile of his birthplace. Robert married Lola Marie Hance on October 17, 1959. He worked as a logger in his early years. From 1964 - 1984, Robert and Lola owned and operated Smith Texaco in Plainview. In 1984, Robert began working for Plainview- Rover Schools in maintenance and as a bus driver. He loved his jobs and took great pride in his work until his retirement in 2006. He cherished the summers spent camping, boating and skiing on Lake Nimrod, gardening, mowing his lawn, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lola; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Margo Smith of Plainview; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Phillip Smith of Marshall, Texas; grandsons, Cody and Josh Smith of Plainview and Clay Smith of Marshall, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Cleva Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Nell and Larry Bates, all of Plainview; his brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law of the Hance family; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Lou Smith and Peggy Sue Smith Stewart. A celebration of Robert's life was held April 10, 2012 at Plainview Church of Christ with Bro. Butch Gossett and Bro. Tristan Stamps officiating.

Rosie Jewel Weaver Smith, age 87 of Dardanelle, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. She was born June 27, 1920 at Casa to the late Harvey and Nettie Smith Weaver.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Smith; son, Orvil Ray Smith; granddaughter, Patti Smith; sister, Erne Bond.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Dean Collins of Dardanelle; brother, Marvin Weaver of Roseburg, OR; sisters, Allene Loyd of Dardanelle, Louise Weaver of Dinuba, CA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Roy Lynn Smith, age 53, of Plainview, AR. died Saturday, March 20, 1999 in a Little Rock Hospital. He was an oil drilling consultant, a veteran of the Navy and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife Gayle Smith of Odessa, TX; two daughters, Shurine Hawkins of Odessa, TX and Shari Speed of Odessa, TX; a son, Roy L. Royal Cleo Smith, age 77, of Story, AR passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2006. He was born on January 2, 1929 at Story, the son of the late Elmer L. Smith and Tina Palmer Smith. On March 20, 1951, he was married to Betty Brothers Smith who preceded him in death on September 10, 2006. He was a member and elder of the Muddy Creek Church of God and had retired from the U. S. Forest Service in 1985. In 2004, he received his 50 year pin from the Mount Ida Masonic Lodge, 140.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Connie Smith of Story; two grandsons, Roger Smith and James Smith both of Story; and his aunt, Mary Dale Oppert of Onero, Connecticut.
Services were held December 9, 2006 in the Muddy Creek Church of God with Bro. Bill Singleton and Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Interment was in the Reed Cemetery with Mason rites under the direction of the Mount Ida Masonic Lodge, 140. Arrangements are by Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Sammy F. Smith age 75 of Casa died Friday, April 29, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born August 30, 1929 in Ola to the late Will and Cora Jaynes Smith. He retired after fifteen years as a mechanic for WinRock International and was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Loye Smith and Dub Smith and two sisters, Mildred Mode and Selma Dale.
Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Ruby Rook Smith; a daughter, Kerrie Alexander of Casa; a son, William Paul Smith of Chicago, IL; a sister, Oleta Walker of North Little Rock and one granddaughter, Amber Alexander of Conway.

Local services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas. The family will also have a service 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 7, 2013 with a visitation prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. at the Wheeler Avenue Church of Christ in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Oak Cemetery under the care of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Sunshine was born on January 18, 1916 in Aplin, Arkansas to L.O. and Delia White. She attended schools in Havana, Arkansas and graduated from high school there. She married O'Dell White in 1939. He was an Evangelist and song leader.
He preceded her in death in 1948. She married Roy Smith in 1958 in Havana before moving to Morton, Texas. They owned and operated Smith Furniture in Morton and later Tulia for many years. They retired and settled in Plainview. Roy preceded her in death in 1998. Sunshine was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ. She was a beloved Christian lady, and was always called "Sunshine" because it fit her. Sunshine was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; two brothers, Oslyn White. L.O. White, Jr.; and two sisters Leota Veech, Pauline Hughes Nagle.
Survivors include a son, Herschel White and wife Barbara of Ft. Worth; daughter, Lenore Polk of Houston; five grandchildren, Syd Polk of Austin, Krista Bartel of Houston, Kennen White of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Amy Wangner of Ft. Worth, Alan White of Southlake; and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Sylva Briggs Smith, age 71, former resident of Briggsville, died August 28 in Millersburg, Ohio. She was the widow of the late Mathew L. Smith, and the daughter of the late James P. Briggs and the late Lucy Albright Briggs. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Briggsville Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clifford Studd of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, J.P. Briggs of Briggville and Shannon Briggs of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Flora Pitts of Ola; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
