Wesley Edward Simmons, age 67, of Lonoke, father of Glen E. Simmons and brother of Cleo Simmons of Russellville, died Saturday, March 29, 1986.
Survivors also include his wife, Mrs. Ovella Simmons.

Mr. William Andrew Simmons, age 88, of Centerville, GA died Sunday, December 11, 1994 in a local hospital. A native of Yell County, AR he was born December 22, 1905 near the community of Kingston, Yell County, AR He was the son of the late Henry Grant Lilly Victoria Tedder Simmons and the grandson of John Robert and Lousiana Martha Light Simmons and Henry and Rachel Adams Tedder all of Yell County. He was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard and a WWII veteran having served as the 1st Sgt of B Company, 1902nd Aviation Engineer Battalion during the Okinawa campaign. His last military service was as one of the guards assigned to the presidential aircraft Independence during the Truman administration.
He married and settled in Georgia. He moved to Centerville, GA in 1959 and retired as a civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred G. Simmons, and one son Millard H. Simmons, both of Centerville; three sisters, Mrs. Oral Raper of Little Rock, Mrs. Ina Burton and Mrs. Frances Brewster both of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers, Mr. Kenneth Simmons and Gene Simmons both of Hot Springs; as well as several nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces. Mike Simpson, age 59 of Casa, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1950 at Beaumont, KY to Charles and Dolly Shives Simpson. He was a poultry farmer for Wayne Farms and attended Hickory Grove First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Simpson and a brother, Fred Simpson.

William Rufus Simpson, age 91, of Mt. Ida, Arkansas died Monday, December 30, 2002, at the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mt. Ida. He was born July 15, 1911, in Fir, Arkansas to the late John Tubb and Martha Jane Hennessee Simpson. He was a retired automobile mechanic and a member of the Mt. Ida Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Simpson.

Dr. C. C. Sims, aged 67 years, died at his home in this city at 11:30 o'clock Saturday morning, March 16, 1935, after an illness of two weeks. The funeral services were held at the family home on Second Street at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Mr. Haislip, pastor of the Russellville Christian Church, assisted by Rev. Chas. F. Wilkins and Rev. E. E. Stevenson, of this city. The funeral was largely attended by friends of Dr. Sims from all sections of Yell County, and from many other points in the State.
Dr. Sims was a native of Yell County, where he spent his entire life. For more than 40 years he had been engaged in the practice of dentistry in Dardanelle, being at one time President of the Arkansas Dental Association. He was also largely interested in farming and had extensive land holdings in Yell and other counties.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Stickney Meek, a grandson, Carroll Stickney Meek, Jr., and three brothers, Messrs. Bert and Lonzo Sims, of near this city, and Lee Sims, of Little Rock. LONG BEACH, Calif. Fannie Sue Sims, age 74, of Long Beach, Calif. died Friday, July 23, 1999. Born May 2, 1925, at Aly, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Sims, parents and one brother.
Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Roye Rowe of Hot Springs; three nieces, Gwen Magyar, Gail McKee and Greta Creekmore; and three great nieces.

He is an Army Korea WWTT Veteran, a member of the Plainview Free Will Baptist Church and Plainview VFW. He was a retired truck driver and was an employee for the Plainview City Park.

Woman Killed In Accident Near Chalybeate (Mrs. Joyce Sims) - A 35- Year old woman was killed in an accident near Chalybeate last Saturday afternoon. She was identified as Mrs. Joyce Sims, 35 of Clarksville. Mrs. Sims was apparently killed, when the truck in which she was riding ran into a ditch and threw her out. Leon Edward Sims, 76, of Centerville, owner of S&S Trailer Sales and Leasing of Pottsville and a member of First Assembly of God of Centerville, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Wilma Hilliard Sims; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Debbie Sims of Dyersburg, TN, and Ronnie and Connie Sims of Dardanelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Johnny Darter of Centerville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Don Sims and Morris Sims of Paris; and two sisters, Dorothy Hilliard of Centerville and Nora Parker of Paris.

Mrs. Lula Sims, aged 69, widow of the late Dr. C. C. Sims, died at her home on Second Street Friday, June 9th, 1944. She had been in poor health for a number of years, but only in recent months had her condition been regarded as critical.
Funeral services were conducted at the home at 8:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon by Reverend Stone, Pastor of the Russellville Christian Church. Burial, in charge of the Cornwell Funeral Home, was in Brearley Cemetery.
Mrs. Sims, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse J. George, a prominent pioneer family of this section, was born and reared in Dardanelle, where she spent her entire life. She was a faithful member of the Christian Church, and until stricken with ill health, was zealous in all of its services and activities. She was a woman of sweet, kindly disposition, and many were the acts of charity and benevolence unostentatiously extended by her hand. She was sincerely loved, and by those who knew her best she will be deeply mourned and missed.
Mrs. Sims is survived by a daughter, Mrs. F. Stickney Meek, of Dardanelle; two sisters, Miss Ellie George, of Dardanelle, and Mrs. S. Rennae Sims, age 76, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, December 15, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born September 19, 1925 in Harkeys Valley near Dardanelle, AR to the late Leonard and Neely Irene Garner Sims. He was a 1945 graduate of Dardanelle High School. He and his wife, Rebecca owned and operated Rennae Sims Builders Supply of Dardanelle and Clarksville for 32 years as well as Danville Builders Supply, Ola Hardware and Sims Wood Products. He served as president of the Board of Directors of Dardanelle Hospital, Bay Ridge Boat & Golf Club, Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, and the Dardanelle Kiwanis Club. He was an active board member of the First Arkansas Valley Bank, Arkansas Lumberman's Association, Midland Builders Supply, and the Arkansas Small Businessman's Association, the University of Arkansas at Morrilton Construction Department Advisory Board and the first Zoning Board for the City of Dardanelle. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Dardanelle where he attended the first church meeting in Dardanelle. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a lifelong member of Boyce-Woods Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3141.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rebecca Rook Sims; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Carolyn Sims of Westerville, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Craig Couch of Dardanelle, AR; two brothers, Verlon Sims of Dardanelle, AR and Lamar Harkey of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters, Erma Martin of Russellville, AR and Retha Wilson of Ola, AR; four grandchildren, Martha Anne and Andrew Paul Sims both of Westerville, OH and GaBriel and Morgan Rennae Couch both of Dardanelle, AR.
Services were December 18, 2001 at the Church of Christ in Dardanelle with Bro. Delbert Wilson and Bro. Benny Baker officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Mrs. Ruby Barns Sims age 78 of Ola, died Friday, May 14, 1993 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. She was a native of Yell County, Arkansas, daughter of the late Jess and Polly Boyce Barns. She was a member of the Ola Assembly Church and a housewife.
Survivors include one sister, Davis Odle of California and several nephews and nieces.

Truman Orlander Sims, age 89, of London, AR died Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born June 2, 1914 at London, to the late Walter Orlander and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Skinner Sims. He was the owner-operator, along with his wife, of Sims Phillips 66 Grocery and Cafe; he was a retired saw miller and farmer and was a member of the Martin Chapel Assembly of God and the London Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Hoyt Sims; a brother, William A. Sims; six sisters, Leonia Dixon, Estella Jones, Bea Martin, Janie Vinson, Clara Whorton and Vie Vinson and a daughter-in-law, Mary Sims.
Survivors include his wife, Leatha Sims; four sons and daughters-in-law, Troy "Rip" and Shirley Sims of Russellville, William Orlander Sims and Rex Carl Sims both of London, Montie and Carla Sims of Dardanelle, AR and Helen Sims of London; two brothers, Bennie Sims of Dardanelle, AR and Cletis Sims of Vernal, UT; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A son of Leatha Norma Vinson Sims of London and the late Truman Orlander Sims, he was born November 30, 1940, at London. He was the former owner and operator of Dub's Restaurant in London. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Hoyt Elton Sims.

Born August 7, 1937 in London, he was the son of the late William A. and Nettie Vinson Sims. Wilma Fay Hilliard Sims, age 81, of Dardanelle died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at her home. She was born September 7, 1936, at Centerville, Arkansas to the late Waveland and Sadie Scoles Hilliard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Leon Sims; four brothers, Clayton Dude, Billy, Jimmy and Benny Hilliard and one great grandchild, Marlee Jae Sims.
Survivors include her children, Tommy and Debbie Sims of Dyersburg, TN, Ronnie and Connie Sims of Dardanelle, Debbie and Johnny Darter of Centerville; sisters-in-law, Betty Hilliard of Sicley Island, Nora Parker of Paris, Sharon Sims of Farmington; brother-in-law, Morris Sims and wife Ruth of Paris; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Gault Sinclair, 89, of Little Rock AR and widow of C. A. Swann Sinclair died Tuesday, January 20, 2004. She was born in Danville, AR to Joseph D. and Geneva Baird Gault. Having graduated from Dardenelle High School she attended Capitol City Business School. Mary was employed by the Arkansas State Treasury Department for over 30 years, and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. She was a past board member of the Florence Crittenton Home, past President of the 20th Century Club and past member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club.
She is survived by a nephew, Roy D. Gault and his wife, Carol, a sister-in-law, Pat Gault all of Colorado Springs, CO, a God-child, Susan Overton Huey and her husband, Nelson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe D. Gault.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Garden. Memorials, in lieu of flowers may be made to either, Hope Lodge, 2122 S. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Sipes; a son Jimmy Franklin Green; grandsons, Jamie Lewis Green and Shawn Blue; a brother, Ernest Jones, Jr. and three sisters, Anna Grave McCreary, Ernestine McCollum and Molly Jones.

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Sipes, age 20 years, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Hefner, Macedonia, Monday afternoon, June 2, after an illness of ten days with malaria fever.
Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a son, John Robert, and a little daughter, Mary Ann, one brother, Clinton Hefner, Ft. Worth, Texas; four sisters, Mabel, Wanell, Rosetta and Loretta, at home.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.H. Montgomery, Tuesday afternoon, at the Macedonia cemetery. Pall bearers were: Lowell Baker, Claude Sanders, Luther Riddle, Eugene Level, Billie Reynolds and Bud Pence. Appropriate songs were sung by the choir, led by J.I. Cowger and Wess Baker.
