William Lonnie Shoemaker, age 88, of Harrah, Okla., a native of Delaware, died Tuesday, September 23, 1986 at Shawnee Medical Center at Shawnee, Okla. He was a native of Delaware, a retired employee of Tinker Field Aircraft Co. veteran of World War I and a member of Harrah Church of Christ.

Robert Neil Shook, 69, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born March 20, 1941; he was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was retired from the Greenwood School System, faithful member of Westwood Baptist Church in Greenwood and an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Norma (Wooten) Shook; two sons Kenny Shook and wife Stephanie; Jonathan Shook and wife Margie; two daughters, Debbie Williams and husband Mark; Becky Goetz and husband Mike all of Greenwood; four grandsons Brad Williams, Robbie Knuckles, Justin Knuckles and Tyler Shook; five granddaughters, Ashley Vigus, Jennifer Style, Amanda Shook, Trinity Partin and Scarlett Shook; two great grandchildren Lake Williams and Faith Vigus; one brother Jim Shook and wife Elaine of Boonville; one sister Ann Cornwell and husband Mike of Danville.

On August 31, 1966, he married Darlene May. He retired after 22 years as a United States Air Force Master Sergeant, where he was an F4 Phantom mechanic. He was among the many who stormed the beach at Normandy on June 6, 1944, now known as D-Day. During his time of service, he also shot competitive skeet.
After his military career he served 21 years in the United States Postal Service with many of those years as postmaster. He was also a member of the NRA, Dardanelle Bass Club and loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Bud, and Robert Shoptaw; and a sister, Donna Shoptaw.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Darlene May Shoptaw; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Shoptaw of Danville; a grandson, Luke Tate Shoptaw of Danville; a brother and sister-in-law, John Wayne and Carol Shoptaw of Russellville; three nephews, Jeremy, Nathan and Daniel; and three nieces, Sarah, Kathy and Melissa. Evelyn Shore, age 75 of Danville, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at her home near Danville. She was born April 13, 1928, in Waukegan, Illinois to the late Angus and Marie Johnson McKenzie. She attended the Havana Presbyterian Church. She was a retired sales clerk for Bill's Dollar Store in Danville.

Irvin Lee Short, 49, formerly of Rover died of injuries received in an accident on a train near Center, Texas on September 21. Relatives said that a load of steel in a boxcar shifted, crushing Short and two other men in the car. The two others were seriously injured.
