Ruby Angelette "Billie" Shelton, age 82 of Amarillo died Saturday, April 5, 2008.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday in the First Christ Church Chapel with Regi Fowler and Susan Burke officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mrs. Shelton was born June 21, 1925, in Ola, AR to Melvin and Marjory Dixon. She was a graduate of Ola High School. She married Jackson Raymond Shelton on May 18, 1947, in the Ola Methodist Church. Jack, her husband, was superintendent of the Plainview-Rover school for many years before they moved to Amarillo. Mrs. Shelton had worked at the Pentagon during World War II. In 1956 she and her husband moved to Amarillo. She and her husband were huge West Texas A & M University women's volleyball and basketball fans and were members of the WTAMU booster clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; five daughters, Cynthia Weir, Celeste Rodriguez and husband Oscar, Emily Nance and husband Doug, Elizabeth Lott and husband Steve, all of Amarillo, and Molly Vulk and husband Marty of North Richland Hills; a son, Melvin Shelton and wife Suzanne of Albuquerque, N. M.; a brother, Jim Bill Dixon; six grandsons; three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Dardanelle Man Dies In Car Wreck Aubrey Shepard, 43, Dardanelle, was killed Friday night when his car rammed a dump truck on the east end of the Arkansas river bridge. City Marshal James Hodges said in a preliminary investigation, Hodges said, officers were unable to determine whether the truck loaded with coal, was parked on the bridge or was moving across it. The Shepard car plowed into the rear of the truck. Shepard was dead on arrival at a Russellville hospital.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Walsie Milligan Shepard; a stepson, Houston Milligan, of the home; three daughters, Virginia of home, and Mrs. Bruce Judgins and Mrs. Lowell Christy, Dardanelle; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Z. Johnnie Faye (Franklin) Shepard, age 81, from the Sugar Grove community near Booneville, Logan County, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, 04 February 2011, in her home. She was born on 06 Jun 1929, near Booneville, Arkansas, to Jesse "Jessie" Franklin and Martha Mable (Rushing) Franklin. She was a homemaker and member of the Hilltop House of Praise near Booneville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest R. Shepard, and her parents.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 08 February 2011, at the Hilltop House of Praise near Booneville with burial in Helton Cemetery south of Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by one son, Earnest D. "Dummy" Shepard and his wife, Judy, from Booneville, Arkansas; two sisters, Brunetta Richmond, from Waldron, Arkansas, and Hazel Cleveland, from Paris, Arkansas; two brothers, Nathan Franklin, from Booneville, Arkansas, and John D. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Grady Shepherd, three sisters Fay Hawks, Vay Hawks Wells and Gay Hawks Hooper; and two brothers George Hawks and Lloyd Hawks.

She and her late husband, Chester Shepherd, owned and operated Shepherd Grocery.

Phillip Dale Shepherd, age 45, of Dardanelle, AR, died Friday, June 30, 2000 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Crawford Highway, Clarksville, AR on Friday. He was owner of Brothers Window Washing Company of Dardanelle and was the president of District three B. A. T. E. Club. He was born in Flint, MI, February 13, 1955, son of the late Donald and Vernon Ward Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Laura Shepherd.

Orvil Sheppard, age 98, of Havana, AR died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. Born November 14, 1907, in Yell County, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Lula Moore Underwood. She was a clerk at Tapp's Grocery Store and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Cecil Lusk and Earl Sheppard.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Vaughn of California; caregivers, Dale and Leonora Caldwell of Havana; several nieces and nephews.

Elnora Moudy Sherman passed away peacefully on March 28, 2010 at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home in Broussard, LA. A native of Belleville, AR, she was born May 19, 1931 and was a longtime resident of Sherwood, AR. She moved to Broussard, LA in June of 2005. Elnora was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who truly enjoyed life. She was a breast cancer survivor and supporter. After Elnora's retirement as secretary of Sherman Construction, she was involved in numerous senior citizen activities. She loved the simple things in life and would always welcome the opportunity to go out for coffee and pie. Elnora kept up with all the local and world events by watching television news and reading newspapers. She enjoyed writing letters to relatives and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Sherman of Jacksonville, AR; daughters, Marlene Sherman of Little Rock, AR and Janet Sherman Broussard Roy (Don) of Broussard, LA; grandchildren, Justin, Lauren and Kynley Roy of Broussard, LA; brothers, Opal Lee Moudy (Pauline) of Jonesboro AR, Dr. Perry, AR; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Sherman; father, Lee Moudy; mother, Jennie Buckman Moudy; and sisters, Anna Belle Moudy and Betty Jane Moudy.
A memorial service to celebrate Elnora's life will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 1:00 p. m. at Russell Cemetery in Belleville, AR. Greta Sherman, 80, of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the River Valley Medical Center. She was born March 17, 1931, in Yell County, to Floyd and Lyda Mae George Rodgers. She had been a waitress at the Old South Restaurant in Russellville for over 17 years, and was a member of the Birta Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Otis Flood; two sons, Kenneth and Patrick Flood; a daughter, Vickie Flood; a brother, Charles Rodgers; and a sister, Reba Benefield.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susie Flood of Ola; three grand- children, Jamie Whitted of Ola, Clint Flood and his wife, Crystal, of Alma, and Eric Flood of Casa; and four great- grandchildren, Corey Cain, Samantha Flood, Alexis Flood and Reagan Flood.

John Sherrell, age 75, died at a hospital in Danville October 14 following a long illness. He was a resident of Belleville and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie Sherrell; one daughter, Mrs. Calvin Reed, of Belleville; and one son, Brown Sherrell, also of Belleville.

Mr. Lacy "Brown" Sherrell, age 83, of Mount Ida, AR died Friday, March 13, 1998 at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born August 19, 1914 in Riley Creek, Yell County, AR to John and Virginia Vanderver Sherrell. He was united in marriage to Marie Tubbs on October 21, 1939 in Danville, AR. He made his home in Mount Ida for 44 years. He was retired from the photography business and the Indianapolis Glove Factory. He was a member of the American Legion and a veteran of WWII. He was a charter member of the Lake Ouachita Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Lee Reed, Grade Sherrell and Macy Sherrell.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Sherrell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and John Ballentine and Mammie and Don Vanderford; two grandsons, Richard and Penny Wheeler and Bro. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Olaimey and husband Amal of Maumelle, AR, Becky Wilkins and husband Virgil of Blue Ball, AR; two step daughters, Jennie Barnes, Laverne Ridenhour; three sons, Ronnie and wife Von James of Blue Ball, AR, Robert and wife Susan James of Olympia, WA, Warren and wife Anne James of West Fork, AR; step son, James Sherrill; grandchildren, Rhonda James, Kelly James, Jay James, Sean James and Eric Wilkins and five great grandchildren.
Graveside service was held on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Earl Ladd Cemetery in Danville, AR by Martin Funeral Home in Waldron. Sherrill, age 73, of Bluffton, AR died Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock AR She was born July 10, 1929 in Oden, AR to the late Alex and Rose Lee Whisenant Evans. She was a retired LPN, former member of the Order of Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Ray Evans and a sister, Infant Evans.
Survivors are her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Sherrill; five sons and daughters-in-law, Gary, and Debra Sherrill, Rick and Joyce Sherrill and Mike Sherrill all of Bluffton, Terry and Marilyn Sherrill of Waldron and Seth and Madaline Sherrill of Castroville, TX; two brothers, Fay Evans of Norman, OK and Sonny Evans of Bluffton, AR; three sisters, Mae Daniels of Houston, TX, Catherine Lunsford of Waldron, AR and Lillian Keys of Rover, AR; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

William N. "Bill" Sherrill, age 78, of Bluffton, AR died Thursday, August 15, 2003, at his son's home in Bluffton. He was born January 29, 1925 in Hon, AR to the late David Meeks and Emily Abigail Slater Sherrill. He was an Army Veteran, retired mechanic, a master Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge 123 in Bluffton and the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church and a retired pastor of Pleasant Hill Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Sherrill.
He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Debra Sherrill, Rick & Joyce Sherrill and Mike Sherrill all of Bluffton, Terry & Marilyn Sherrill of Waldron and Seth & Madaline Sherrill of Castroville, TX; a brother, Leonard Sherrill of Blue Ball; two sisters, Ora Powell of Pine Bluff and Opal Phillips of Star City; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Cliva Mae Shewmake, age 82, of Danville passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home. She was born August 1, 1931 in Mississippi to the late Charlie & Etha Mae Posey Yarbrough and returned to Arkansas as an infant and made Arkansas her home. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Avis Clay. Her husband John Daniel Shewmake is still listed as missing in action in Vietnam.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law John & Becky Shewmake of Danville; daughter & son-in-law Vivian Sue & Donnie Middlesworth of Oppelo; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Charles "Sonny" & Judy Yarbrough of Lawton, OK; sisters Irene Young of Little Rock; Jean McGhee of Benton, LA; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Sharon Alberta (Simpson) Shewmake, 64, of Morrilton passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Sharon was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on August 19, 1952 to Olen and Sherlin (McArthur) Simpson. She worked for Adams Eye Care in Morrilton for a number of years before her retirement. For several years Sharon was co-owner of J&S Pharmacy in Danville, Arkansas. She was a licensed pharmacy tech. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton where she worked with the children's choir and the Jumping 4 Jesus children's program. She had a love for all children. She worked diligently as the MDT Coordinator for Conway County making sure crimes against children were addressed. For several years she volunteered for the Conway County Christian Clinic pharmacy and in many capacities for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Conway County. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved all animals, especially her dog, Lucy, and her cats, Alice and Olive.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving family includes her son, Gary (Mina) Shewmake, of Danville; Grandson, Ethan Shewmake of Danville; Brother, Larry (Sarah) Simpson; Sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Green; Karen (Terry) Martin. Several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mrs. Goly Crow Shinn, age 86 of Dumas, AR died Tuesday, April 28, 1998 at her home. She was born, April 25, 1912 to Dewey and Addie Lee Barter Crow in Yell County, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and attended the Baptist church.

Harry Max Shinn, age 81, of Glen wood, formerly of Danville, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 26, 1935, in Havana, Arkansas, the son of the late Virgil Shinn and Ima Frazier Shinn.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida (King) Shinn of Glenwood; his son, Max Shinn, II of Danville; his daughter, Andi Shinn of Glenwood; his Sandson, Aaron Shinn of Danville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Barger Tygart of Dallas, Texas and Nell and James Mosley of AtIanta, Georgia; his brother-in- law, Dan King and wife, Dorothy of Searcy; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Always a stoic and quiet man, Max left this earth with bravery and dignity.
Never wanting to be the center of attention, he requested there be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Helen Fern Shinn, age 87, of Russellville, AR died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home; she was born May 11, 1914 in Danville, AR daughter of Ernest and Iva Walden Sloan. She worked 20 years for the International Shoe factory before embarking on a 26 year career as a housemother at Arkansas Tech University. She served as a former president and honorary lifetime member of The Dames Club, as well as a member of the First United Methodist Church, the church choir, United Methodist Women, as Easter Star member and the Russellville Music Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Harry, Joe, Kenneth and Robert Sloan.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jack Hill of Russellville, AR; her son and daughter-in-law, James Ernest and Paula Shinn of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Tara Hill O'Dell and Maria Hill of Russellville, Jacque Hill Ptak of Little Rock and Julie Shinn Downes of Webb City, MO; great-grandchildren, Shawn Phipps of US Army, stationed in Hawaii, Drew Phipps and Ashley O'Dell both of Russellville, Shinn Ptak of Little Rock, Richard and Nathan Downes both of Webb City.
