Rollans, Stella Alice Bata

Mrs. Stella Alice Bata Rollans; age 99, of Dardanelle, AR. widow of Ocie Rollans, died Saturday, February 6, 1999 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born September 11, 1899 in Delaware, AR. to the late Andrew and Dora Alice Bata. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Doyle Rollans.

Surviving are one daughter, Geraldine McCarty of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Rollans, W. R.

W. R. Rollans, age 74, died in a Little Rock hospital Sunday, April 5, 1959. Mr. Rollans was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired farmer. He was a lifelong resident of Logan and Yell Counties having made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Adie Mayer of Dardanelle, for the past 13 years.

Survivors are three other daughters, Mrs. Lemoyne Barnett of Dardanelle, Mrs. Lemoyne Peterson of Little Rock, and Mrs. Homer Deeds of Manila; two sons, Robert Ray Rollans of Long Beach, Calif. and Virgil Rollans of Clinton, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Cavens of Bakersfield, Calif. Mrs. Mattie Barto of Ft. Smith and Mrs. Effie Lynn of Delaware; 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Romig, Jack E.

Jack E. Romig, age 78, of Dover, AR died at his home Tuesday, June 12, 2001. He was a native of L. A. County California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leila and Perry Romig of Palmdlae, CA. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Romig and six step children, Deborah Bunker, Franklin, Maine, John Martin, Colorado Springs, CO, Tom Little, Denver, CO, Becky Newell and Marie Bryson both of Dover, AR and Danielle Daily, Buford, GA.

James Robert "Rob" Romine, age 47, of Russellville, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Russellville High School and worked for the family business.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, O. M. and Dessa Jones of Atkins, James H. and Lily Romine of Atkins, and Noel and Lois Hickey of Russellville. He was the son of John Ed and Shirley (Jones) Hickey of Centerville, Arkansas and Mr. Bobby Gene Romine of the Caglesville Community.

Other survivors include his beloved wife Wendy Romine of the home in Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Liz Romine) Harrell and Jimmy Harrell of Midway, GA; a step-daughter, Monica Hose of Russellville; a stepson, Tyler Shaw of the home in Russellville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hickey of Pottsville, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hickey, of Mt. George; three nephews, John Mark Hickey of Hartman, Chase Hickey of Mt. George, Gary Hickey of Pottsville; three nieces, Ashland Hickey of Mt. George, Flecia Hickey of Pottsville, and Haleigh Hickey of Waldron; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was deeply loved and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2004, 10:30 am, Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. David Downum. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Russellville. W. C. "Bill" Romine, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, September 24, 1999 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. He was born November 2, 1912 in Pine Bluff, AR to the late James Harding and Lillie Edwards Romine. He was a Master Mason of the Pottsville Order and was a self-employed dump truck driver and fanner.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ella Moore Romine; a son, Donald B. Romine of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Ottis Barton of Russellville, AR; two brothers, Nathan Romine of Moreland, AR and Bobby Romine of Hector, AR; two sisters, Charlotte Woodard of Atkins, AR and Louise Rone of Kansas City, MO; three granddaughters, Angela Campbell, Virginia Beach, VA, Tanya Moody and Rhonda Young of Russellville, AR and five great-grandchildren.

Wendy Jill Hose Romine, 38, of Russellville died Friday, August 5, 2005. She was born July 14, 1967 in Dardanelle.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Bobby Wells and Rev. Bobby Judkins officiating. Roberta "Moochie" Rommell, age 77, of Russellville, AR died Friday, May 5, 2000 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born November 10, 1922 in Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated with a degree in hotel and business management and was retired as a hotel manager. She attended the Methodist church.

Survivors are, special friends, Alan & Liane Donahou, Robert Donahou, Michael & Christopher Edwards, Kim & David Shaw all of Dardanelle, AR; Raymond & Dona Williams of Dover, AR, Jeff & Gwen Williams of Fayetteville, AR, Steve and Beth Dructor of Troy, Alabama and 14 grandchildren.

Ronaghi, Paula Ann (Looper) Hatfield

Paula Ann Looper Hatfield Ronaghi, 64, went to her eternal home on Friday, June 14, 2013. She passed at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born October 13, 1947, in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late James Paul and Joyce Lucille Waid Looper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James Looper, and a son, Peter Hatfield.

Survivors include her husband, Tavakol Ronaghi; one son, Andrew Hatfield of Conway, two granddaughters, Ellaina and Blair Hatfield of Conway; a sister-in-law, Angela Looper of Dardanelle; a niece and her husband, Becky and Cary McVay of Russellville. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, 5 brother-in-laws, 1 sister-in-law, and many other relatives and friends. Paula was born in a Christian family home. She started her healing and peace ministry in 1978 when she was given one week to live. She taught at Agape School of World Evangelism in Little Rock for 13 years, in McGee for 5 years, and in Monticello for 2 years. She also started a healing school in Belize. Seven years ago, she and her husband began Ronaghi Ministries. The ministry was licensed by Life Church and Pastor Larry Doggett. God gave her a vision for revival in Southeast Arkansas. In 2008, the Holy Spirit revealed to her that this would begin in Monticello at Life Church directed by Pastor Larry Doggett, to whom God had given the same vision. Paula and her husband were devoted to drive to Monticello every Friday night for the past 6 years to intercede and pray for Southeast Arkansas. She would teach and minister as directed by the Holy Spirit along with Pastor Doggett. Her husband will carry on this ministry for this vision.

Kenneth George Rood, age 56, of Delaware (Logan County) died Thursday, December 18, 1980. He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late George Rood and was manager of Valmac Hatcheries.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Allen Rood; two sons, William Rood of Lexington, Ky. and Robert Rood of Little Rock; a daughter, Mrs. Lynn Gore of Lexington, Ky.; his mother, Mrs. Ida Rood of Delaware, and six grandchildren.

Sharon Louise Limbocker Rood, age 56, of Tate Town, AR died Thursday, May 18, 2000 in a Little Rock Hospital. She was retired from McDonnell Douglas, a member of the Eastern Star, and attended Egypt Free Will Baptist Church. She went to school in California and returned to Arkansas in 1985 to live on a farm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Eric Rood and her parents, Chet and Louise Limbocker.

She is survived by, her companion, Norman Lee Hunt of Tate Town, AR; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd Eric and Amy Rood of Tate Town, AR; one sister, Peggy Nelson of Redondo Beach, CA; one brother, Larry Limbocker of Redondo Beach, CA; two nieces, Kinsey Nelson and Stacy Nelson both of Redondo Beach, CA.

Floie Mae Jeffryes Rook, age 88, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, March 1, 2004 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born September 29, 1915 to the late Robert and Lula Mae Gullett Jeffryes. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Morrilton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Audrey "Jack Rook and one sister, Grace Gamble.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Bobbie and Arvil Sims of Dardanelle, AR and Reba Hillburn of Pearcy, AR; three sisters, Ethel Duvall and Marty White both of Atkins, AR and Laverne Mills of Russellville, AR; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Lavonne Rook age 65 of Russellville died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born March 6, 1939 in Carden Bottom, Yell County, Arkansas to the late Jack and Vonnette Hammock Robinson. She was the owner of Valerie Closet in Dardanelle.

She was preceded in death by a son, Franklin "Manny Rook, Jr.

Survivors are her husband of 46 years, Franklin Rook, Sr. five daughters, Angela Christopher of Grove, OK, Amy Wilson of Little Rock, Laura Scott, Lisa Robinson and Valerie Black all of Russellville; two brothers, Max Robinson of Russellville, Dickie Robinson of Centerville, a sister, Phyllis Wells of Centerville, seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Louisa Rook, age 85, widow of Aubrey Rook, of Granada Hills, CA, formerly of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, December 29, 1992, in Granada Hills. A native of Yell County, Mrs. Rook was a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Chesney.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Peggy Sutton.

Survivors include two sons: Morris Rook of Pine Bluff and Mark Rook of Agoura Hills, CA; five daughters; Mary Cloud of Hot Springs, Marilyn Rook of Crocker Heights, TX; Carrie Cereb of Saugus, CA, Nora Crofutt of Warner-Robins, GA and Lora Yvarra or Pensacola, FL; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Otha A. Rook, 64 or Morriton, died in St. Mary's hospital Wednesday, Dec. 16. He was a native of Carden Bottom in Yell County and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, the former Verlin McDonough; a son, P.K. Rook of Dardanelle; a daughter, Miss Alice Kelly of San Francisco, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Duncan Rook of Dardanelle; seven brothers; Aubrey Rook of Dumas, Fran Rook of Dardanelle, Clarence Rook and Audrey Rook of Tiller, Wilbur Rook of Gould, Roy Rook of Malvern and Frank Rook of North Little Rock; and five grandchildren.

Rook, Robert

Double Tragedy Hits CB Family - Robert Rook, 23, of Carden Bottom, was killed instantly at about 7 p.m. last Friday when his car struck a bridge abutment about 1/2 mile north of Ola on Highway 7. State Trooper Richard Powell said that a bridge rail passed completely through the car. Tragedy struck the family again less than eight hours after the accident when their home burned to the ground. Mr. and Mrs. Red Rook, Robert's parents and two other children, Kay and Jerry, had gone to the home another daughter, Mrs. Billy Tillman of Dardanelle that night. Neighbors drove to the Tillman home at about 3 a.m. to tell the Rooks that lightning had struck their home and set it afire. The home, furnishings, a car and truck were lost in the blaze. Verline Rook, age 94, a resident of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, May 9, 1999 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born on October 7, 1904 at Bryant's Cove, AR to Sam and Maude Lee McDonough. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Snow Rook and preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Wilma Lee; one son, Charles Edward Rook; two twins, one grandson, Kenny Rook; four brothers, Doyle, Garland, Virgil and Clomer McDonough.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Rook of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter, Alice Kelly of San Bernardino, CA; four grandchildren, Peggy Distel, Carol McLain, David Kelly and Daniel Kelly; two great grandchildren, Hence Distel and Jennifer Domique and a nephew, Jackie Lee Boyd.

Will "Bill" Rook Jr. age 50, of Casa died Sunday, December 28, 1986 at University Medical Center at Little Rock. He was the son of the late Will Rook Sr. and Marie Bailey Rook Barrett.

Wilma R. Rooke, age 91, of Danville died Tuesday, October 2, 2007. She was born December 18, 1915 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late John & Alta Hazel Rugan Suddath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Lee Rooke; a sister, Lorine Connor.

Survivors include, a son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Martha Rooke of Danville; granddaughter and husband, Shannon and Russell Nuckols of Dardanelle; grandson and wife, Shawn and Jackie Rooke of Atkins; great-grandchildren, Ryan Rooke and Reece Rooke of Atkins; step-great-grandchildren, Justin Nuckols of Russellville, and Jenni and Justin Smith of Russellville; brother Bob Walther of Houston, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Rorax, Ola Haire

Ola Haire Rorax was born August 31, 1914 near Belleville, Arkansas in the small Community of Riley Creek. She passed away June 4, 2008 in Visalia, CA at the age of 93. She was the fourth of seven children born to Haywood and Laura Haire. Ola graduated from Belleville High School in 1934 and then spent two years at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. In 1936 she entered Oklahoma A&M at Stillwater and graduated with a life diploma in Home Economics in 1938. She then taught school in Red Oak, Boynton, Westville and Stillwell, Oklahoma. At Stillwell she accepted both a teaching position and served as County Home Demonstration Agent. She came to California in 1945 and taught one year in Mariposa. She moved to Visalia in 1946 and married John Harold Rorax in 1948. She taught at Visalia High School and Sierra Vista but spent most of her teaching career at Green Acres Junior High teaching Home Economics until retiring in 1972. Ola was a member of West Visalia Church of Christ. She dearly loved her family and loved spending time with them. She also like to cook, sew, knit, craft and bowl. Her Walnut Pies and Chocolate Chip Cookies were every ones favorites

Survivors include her daughter Sharon Rorax Fischer and son-in-law Greg, and grandson Michael Gregory Fischer. Ola is also survived by her brother James T. Haire of Visalia; sister Syble Lampkins of Camarillo; three nephews, six nieces and their spouses, and 20 great nephews and nieces.

Ola was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband John, her parents, brothers Arvle, Charlie, Vernon, sister Laino and a great nephew.

Dardanelle Mrs. Margaret Elise Carter Rorex, age 85, died November 11, 1980 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Addie Lee Cunningham Carter, the widow of Albert Rorex, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, Lonnie Parsons, Dardanelle; a grandson, Carter Parsons, Dardanelle; a nephew, George Lloyd Carter Jr. Tulsa, Okla.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Viola Chambers, Dardanelle.

Louie Rosamond, age 85 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas. He was born June 15, 1917 in Lurton, Arkansas to the late Fred and Flora Overturf Rosamond. He was a WWII Army Veteran, member of Boyce-Woods VFW Post 4131 in Dardanelle and a retired welder.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Rosamond.

Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Louie and Maxine Nichols of Iron Mountain, Missouri; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Louis Stolorski of Conroe, Texas, Katherine and Ricky Cook of Hamstead, Texas, Mary Robinson of Wrightsville, Missouri; two brothers, Alvin and Jeannie Rosamond and Elroy and Linda Rosamond both of Oak Grove, Missouri; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
