Rabjohn, Loyd

Loyd Rabjohn, age 89, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, April 26, 2002 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born March 20, 1913 at Rover, AR the son of the late E. L. "Tobe" and Alverda "Mammy" Armstrong Rabjohn. He retired from Deltic Timber Co. at Ola, where he worked as a lumber inspector and grader and was a member of Mountain Pine Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Modean Cox Rabjohn; two brothers, Gary "Bud" Rabjohn and Charlie Rabjohn and two sisters, Gertrude Barnes and Leatha Elliott.

He is survived by a son, Laudell Rabjohn of Dardanelle.

Memory Card - Loyd Rabjohn, age 89, a resident of Dardanelle, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born March 20, 1913, at Rover, Arkansas, a son of the late E. L. Tobe and Alverda Mammy Armstrong Rabjohn.

He was retired from the Deltic Timber Company in Ola where he worked as a lumber inspector and grader. He was a member of the Mountain Pine Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Modean Cox Rabjohn; 2 brothers, Gary Bud Rabjohn and Charlie Rabjohn; and 2 sisters, Gertrude Barnes and Leatha Elliott. He is survived by a son, Laudell Rabjohn of Dardanelle; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service and burial will be 2 P. M. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at the Bluffton Cemetery at Bluffton with Reverend Joe Yates officiating. Visitation will be open from 11 A. M. - 9 P. M. Memory Card - Modean Rabjohn, age 80, of Dardanelle, died Monday, January 4, 1999, at the Dardanelle Hospital. A daughter of the late George Esrom and Charlcie May Douthit Cox, she was born April 23, 1918, at Nola, Arkansas (in Scott County).

She was the wife of Loyd Rabjohn, to whom she had been married since October 10, 1936, and was a member of the Mountain Pine Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Cox; and three sisters, Cletha Herrin, Louretha Allred and Carmen Alphin.

Survivors also include a son, Laudell Rabjohn of Dardanelle.

Rackley, Earl Dee

Earl Dee Rackley, age 34, Dardanelle died Friday, May 20,1977, at Dardanelle Hospital. A native of Logan County, Mr. Rackley was a son of Mrs. Golda McCurry Parsons, and the late J. D. Rackley. He was a heavy equipment operator.

Other survivors are a son, Richard Rackley of the home; four daughters, Misses Sherry, Shelley, Karen, and Diane Rackley all of the home; two brothers, Donald Rackley, DeQuincey, La., and Marvin Lee Rackley, Longview, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille McCubbin, Ratcliff, and Mrs. Sherry Barbee, Paris.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at Cornwell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raymond Box and Rev. Teryle Brashears officiating. Interment was at Tokolan Cemetery by Cornwell. Karl Joseph Radcliff, age 48 of Danville, died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1960 in Sacramento, CA.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Felix Radcliff and uncle, Lonnie Radcliff.

Survivors include parents, Jerry & Mel Harris of Danville and Roland Radcliff of Colorado; daughter, Amanda Radcliff of Dardanelle; brother and sister-in-law, Kurt & Teshia Radcliff of Danville; sisters & brothers-in-law, Kelly & Charles Short of Danville, Kerri & Bobby Solley of Plainview; grandmothers, Pauline Harris of Danville, Evelyn Radcliff of California and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Rader, Leroy G.

Services Held for T-5 Leroy G. Rader. Funeral service for T-5 Leroy G. Rader, Belleville, were held at the Piney Cemetery Sunday afternoon with Rev. Billy Dennis, pastor of the Havana Methodist Church officiating. Havana and Danville Legion posts were in charge of military services. His body was returned from the Champigneul Cemetery in France for re-burial. He entered the service on September 13, 1942 and died of typhoid fever on September 15, 1945 at the age of 24.

Nina May Rader, age 86 of Waveland, died Friday, November 22, 2002 at the Oak Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Booneville, Arkansas. She was born in Yell County, Arkansas on April 10, 1916 to the late Ira Bass and Edna Moore Lusk. She was a mother and homemaker. She was the widow of John Thomas Rader,

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit Lusk, and Jack Lusk; a sister, Shirley Keener.

Barbara Dean Rager, age 69, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born September 28, 1934 in Stephenville, TX to the late Isaac Ayler and Francis Cole Boase. She was a material coordinator for Norton Industries in Stephenville and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Boase.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Rager; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benny and Wanda Rager of Houston, TX and James and Glenna Rager of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter and son-in-law Anita and Bill Geiger of Perryville, AR; grandchildren, Kaytelyn Rager of Dardanelle and Joshua and Loren Robison of Casa, AR; a brother, Gary Boase of Stephenville, TX. three sisters, Joyce Traweek of Dublin, TX, Rita Krzeszewski of Houston, TX and Dollie Kinsey of Morgan Mill, TX.

Rager, Margie Lee (Watson)

Margie Lee Rager, age 75, of Casa died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. She was born June 9, 1935 at Coryall, Texas to the late Albert Lemyel and Myrtle Marie Long Watson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Rager Sr.; a son, Thomas Howard Rager; a daughter, Yolanda Pigeon and a granddaughter, Leigh Ann Allen.

Survivors include three sons, Matthew Rager, Jr. of Petit Jean Mountain, Albert Eugene Rager of Casa and Josh Rager of Russellville; a daughter, Amanda DuVall of Atkins; three brothers, Marvin Watson of Waco, TX, Howard Watson of Gravelly, Joe Lynn Watson of Petit Jean Mountain; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Ragland, Mary "Mollie" (Duff) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Mary "Mollie" Duff Ragland, age 63 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.E. Harmon, on Second Street, shortly before midnight, February 19, 1922.

A beautiful and touching funeral service conducted by Rev. H.H. Griffin, Pastor of the Methodist Church, was held at the family home Friday afternoon, interment being in Brearley Cemetery. Mrs. Ragland had been in declining health for several years, but was confined to her bed just one week by the illness which carried her away. Mrs. Ragland was the daughter of the late Maj. Jas. L. and Sarah Cunningham Duff, and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Matthew Cunningham, pioneer settlers of Arkansas. She was born in Little Rock on December 18, 1858. She moved to Dardanelle with her parents when but a child. Early in life she united with the Presbyterian Church, of which she remained a constant and faithful member to the end. Mrs. Ragland was a splendid woman, and was universally respected and admired for her many noble qualities of heart and mind. She reared a family of five boys - three sons, and two nephews, who knew her but as a Mother - and one daughter, to useful and respected manhood and womanhood. Each member of her family, save one son - Harry, who is confined to his bed by an attack of rheumatism - were at her bedside when the end came. Mrs. Ragland had spent practically her entire life here, and at her death the entire community mourns.

She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. F.E. Harmon, of this city; three sons: Obe E. Ragland, of this city, W.C. Ragland, of Ft. Smith, and Harry Ragland, of Galena, Kansas; two nephews: Tim Duff, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and R.M. Duff, of this city. Ragsdale, Glen M.

Glen M. Ragsdale, age 86, of Newellton, La., a native of Pottsville, died Monday, November 18, 1986 in Newellton. He was the son of the late E. H. and Emma Gates Ragsdale and the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. L. T. Ragsdale and the late Rev. and Mrs. Monroe Gates, Pope County pioneer families. He was a farmer first on Holla Bend and Plumerville bottomland and for the past 45 years in the Mississippi delta. He was a member of the Newellton Union Church and the Men's Bible Class.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lorene Priddy, daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. A. B. Priddy; two sons, Burl Ragsdale of Dallas, Texas, and William Glen Ragsdale of Newellton; two daughters, Mrs. James Mulligan of Newellton and Mrs. Raymond Russell of West Monroe, La.; two brothers, Dr. W. O. Ragsdale and the Rev. James Ragsdale, both of Russellville; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday at the Union Church of Newellton. Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers. Carrothers Funeral Home in Tallulah, La. is in charge of arrangements. Ragsdale, Hollis J.

Hollis J. Ragsdale, 62, died June 9th at his home. He was a native of Carden Bottom, the son of the late Jess and Sarah Rorex Ragsdale. A farmer and stockman Mr. Ragsdale had been semi-retired since 1966 when he seriously injured in a hunting accident. He was a member of the Dardanelle Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife Orra Person Ragsdale; a daughter, Diana Black of Prairie Grove, Ark.; a son, Larry Ragsdale of Dardanelle; five sisters, Mrs. Stella Jones, Mrs. Vernon Hamlin, Mrs. Velma Martindale. and Mrs. Ollie Vann, all of Sikeston, Mo., and Mrs. Gladys Smith of Jonesboro; three granddaughters, Cindy Weather all of Priairie Grove and Susan and Brandi Ragsdale of Dardanelle.

Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Friday, June 11 at Cornwell Funeral Chapel with Presbyterian pastor Mrs. Virginia Barksdale and Rev. C.H. Farmer officiating. Mr. Larry Person Ragsdale, age 52 of Dardanelle, AR died Thursday, June 3, 1999 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born November 30, 1946 in Russellville, AR to the late Hollis Ragsdale. He was an elder and member of the Choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Dardanelle, board member of the Yell County Farm Bureau; he was Yell County Chairperson for the Farm Services Agency, 1998 and 1999 Yell County Row Crop Committee and a member of the Yell County Mounted Patrol.

Survivors are his wife, Diane Pope Ragsdale; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi and Jeff Gillespie of Danville, AR and Susan and David Sisson of Russellville, AR; his mother, Orra Person Ragsdale of Dardanelle, AR; one sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Jimmy Ellis of Dardanelle, AR; two grandchildren, Alexis Sisson and David Sisson Jr. both of Russellville, AR; one nephew, one niece and two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Services were June 7, 1999 at the Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle, AR with Rev. Nancy Covington officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service of Dardanelle, AR. Ragsdale, Orra Person

Orra Person Ragsdale, 92, of Dardanelle died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. Born July 12, 1914 in Clinton, AR, daughter of the late John and Bertha Armour Person, she was a retired teacher and director and teacher of the Dardanelle Child Development Center and she worked at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star N. 589 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Ragsdale; son, Larry Ragsdale; three brothers, James, Clarence and Raymond Person; sister, Lola Breashears and Johnnie Ferris.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Jimmy Ellis of Dardanelle; sister-in-law, Ola Deane Ragsdale of Dardanelle; sister, Lucille Tucker of Fayetteville; three granddaughters and their husbands, Cindy and Mitchell Whitehouse of Prairie Grove, Susan and David Sisson, Sr. and Brandi Gillespie of Danville; six great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held today Wednesday, January 3, 2007, 10:00 a. m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Pastor Kelly Pearson and Rev. Tom McElmurry officiating. Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Rainey of Casa have been advised that their son, Alton Rainey, was killed in action while fighting with U.S. forces on the front line in Korea, October 22. Young Rainey graduated from Casa High School with the class of 1946.

Ann Rainey, age 52, of Casa, AR died Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born July 20, 1949 in Pine Bluff, AR, the daughter of the late Grover and Arlie Holmes Alexander. She worked 24 years at Mather Lodge on Petit Jean as a cook and was a member of Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Rainey; a brother, Bobby Alexander; four sisters, Rosie Surrett, Sally Morris, Beverly Wagner and Joyce Alexander all of Casa; her mother-in-law, Esther Rainey of Casa; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicky & Phillip Ward of Casa; seven nephews; 6 nieces and 15 great nephews and nieces.

Glenn E. Rainey, age 92 of Knoxville died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was the oldest of 8 children to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Ruth Rainey born in Sikeston, Missouri. He worked in CC's at a young age, went on to the Navy and served in World War II.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Harold & Jeff Rainey; sisters, Mae Campbell, Ruth Shimmels and Maxine Guist.

He is survived by his youngest brother, Erwin Rainey of Ola, Charline Schooles of Centerville and Imogene West of Russellville. He and Laura Rainey had 7 children. Fred Rainey preceded him in death and leaves his daughter Betty Spears, James Rainey, Glinda Siber, Linda Akins, Sue Bryan and Robert Rainey; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren.

Rainey, J. W. "Jake"

J. W. "Jake" Rainey, age 74, of Casa, AR died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Casa, and was a son of the late Oscar Othel Rainey. He was a former employee of Arkansas Kraft, and was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Rainey.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Marie Rainey; a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny C. and Ann Rainey of Casa; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Philip Ward of Casa; his mother, Mary Rainey of Casa; two brothers, Odell and Marvin Rainey, both of Casa; three grandchildren, Stephanie Thompson, Nicole Ward Brixey and Leslie Ward all of Casa and a great-granddaughter, Kishea Thompson of Casa.

Funeral service was May 7, 1998 at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Thomas Morris officiating. Burial was in Casa Cemetery. Marvin Marvel Rainey, age 75 of Casa, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at UAMS. He was born August 3, 1934 at Casa to the late Oscar O. and Mary Francis Stover Rainey. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casa and he was a mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J. W. and Alton Rainey.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Rainey of Casa; two daughters, Sherry Holliman of Casa and Kelli Rainey of Conway; one grandson, Jeremy Rainey and wife Tammy of Casa; one great granddaughter; Hunter Rainey of Casa; one brother, Odell Rainey of Casa and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services were June 4 at the First Baptist Church in Casa with Bro. Jack Bean and Phillip Young officiating, music directed by Dale Parish and piano played by Patti Baskin. Rainey, Odell

Odell Rainey, 88, of Casa, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Perry County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 18, 1925, in Casa, Arkansas, to Oscar Othel and Mary Francis Stover Rainey. He was a construction superintendent for Ceco Construction in Chicago, Illinois, helped build the former Sears Tower in Chicago, helped with building the campus buildings at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and helped build the permanent barracks at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He also helped build the Automobile Museum on Petit Jean, and his last job was helping build the dam over the Arkansas River at Dardanelle. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Rainbow Division, and a member of Casa Baptist Church. He was a dog trainer and trader, and raised registered Walkers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, J. W. Rainey, Alton Rainey , who was killed while serving in the Korean War, and Marvin Rainey; and a granddaughter, Dana Ray.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Geneva Rainey; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Dean and Larry McGhee of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lana and Don Robison of Casa, Kathy Hedges of Dardanelle, Chasity Rainey and Kevin Kelhart of Washington, D. C., and Tabatha Rainey of Conway; five grandchildren and their spouses, Debra Ann Mesk of Tulsa, Greg and Karen Robison and Heath and Hollie Robison, all of Casa, Brandy Lawrence and Paul Matheson of Pocola, Oklahoma, and Lacey and Steve Ashe of Casa; 16 great-grandchildren and their spouses, James and Kayla Robison, Joshua and Lisa Robison, Brett Harrison, Ashley Robison, Lane Robison, Loren Robison, Kayli Parton, Brooklyn Parton, Gaige Savage, Colton Robison, Chase Matheson, Saul Robison, Seth Robison, Brayden Koontz, Addyson Ashe and Toni Jones; and six great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Ray, Kailee Ray, Zack Jones, Blaine Jones, Jayde Jones and Anistynn Rogers.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Casa Baptist Church, officiated by Evangelist Heath Robison and Pastor Ethan Robinson. Burial with military honors will be in Casa Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers will be Benny Faulkner, Ralph Rowe, Stanley Rowe, Bobby Townsell, Joe DeShaughan and Jackie Townsell. Rainey, Ollie Cline

Mrs. Ollie Cline Rainey, age 78, of Casa died Monday, March 2, 1987 at a Little Rock hospital. She was a native of Atkins, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Cline, and a member of Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Andy Rainey of Perryville and Ed Rainey Jr. of Rison; nine daughters, Goldie Campbell of Casa, Marilyn Gilliam, Alma Dorsey and Norma Klamm of Perryville, Edna Eason of Charleston, ILL., Alice Morlyn of Flint, Mich., Marge Norman of Cabot, Martha Partridge of California and Nina Bryant of Morrilton; 24 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Oma Irine Rainey, age 87, of Casa, AR died Thursday, May 27, 1999 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was a daughter of the late Elisha and Lizzie Morgan; she was born April 10, 1912 near Casa. She was the widow of the late Virl "Pat" Rainey and was a member of Centerville Assembly of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Abernathy of Casa; a granddaughter, Flora Harrington of Casa; two step-grandchildren, Debbie and Jerrold Abernathy of Ola; and three step-great-grandchildren, Amanda, Erick and Cody Abernathy all of Ola.

James "Jim" Rains, age 71 of Dover, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1935 at Dover to the late Henry and Eulan Mathis Rains. He retired from Con Agra after 30 years of service as a machinist. He was a member of AM Vets. Post #0050 and he loved nature and the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eulan Rains, a brother Bill, and a sister, Barbara.

Ramer, Cordy Aaron

Cordy Aaron Ramer Sr., age 67 of Plumerville, a retired school teacher and an employee of the state Revenue Department, died Friday at a Little Rock hospital. He was a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College, held a Master's degree from the University of Arkansas and was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Ramer was a deacon and treasurer of the First Baptist Church at Plumerville, treasurer of the Conway-Perry County Baptist Association, a Master Mason and treasurer of Plumerville Lodge No 253.

Bobby E. Ramey, age 73, of Danville passed away Sunday May 19, 2013 at Chambers Memorial Hospital after a very brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born July 30, 1939 in Havana, Arkansas to the late Carl & Lena Bull Ramey. Bobby was a very successful poultry grower, raised award-winning Angus cattle, trained thorough-bred horses, and was retired from the Arkansas National Guard. He was devoted to his family, his church, and his community. He helped establish the first rodeo arena in Danville and enjoyed teaching kids about farm life. He was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church, Arkansas Angus Association and a past member of the Arkansas Thoroughbred Association, the Danville Lions Club, and the Arkansas Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
