Nichols, Garland D.

Garland D. Nichols, age 62 of North Little Rock died January 15 in a North Little Rock hospital. Mr. Nichols was formerly cashier of the Bank of Dardanelle and a resident of there for many years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elmo Williamson Nichols of the home; two daughters, Miss Carole Jean Nichols and Miss Deeana Jane Nichols of North Little Rock; one sister, Mrs. Otis Morrison of Pacoima, Calif., and two brothers, E.E. Nichols, Guynell Mason

Mrs. Guynell Mason Nichols, age 59, of Moore's Chapel, Yell County, AR died Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born September 3, 1940 in Port Arthur, TX to the late Stephen Mason. She was a homemaker and mother.

Survivors are her husband, William Paul Nichols; one son, Mason William Nichols of Sweeny, TX; her mother, Pearl Heavner Mason of Moore's Chapel and one sister, Janet Carol Martin of Moore's Chapel. Nichols, Ida

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Ida Nichols, age 71, of Dardanelle died at her home. She was the daughter of the late John and Alpha Dickens Asberry, and a member of St. John's Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Vivereen Harris of Hayti, Mo. and several nephews and nieces.

Nichols, J. C.

J. C. Nichols, age 62, of Fort Smith, formerly of Danville, died Tuesday, August 12, 1980 at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Muskogee, Ok. He was the son of the late Charles and Ozie Nichols, and native of Yell County and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Keitba Crisp and Mrs. Ella Robinson of Fort Smith, Mrs. Connie Payne and Mrs. Norma Jean Adams of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mrs. JoAnn Webster of California; four brothers, Thamer Nichols of Memphis, TN, Leory Nichols of Van Buren, Lonnie Nichols of Ft. Smith and Charles Lee Nichols of Russellville and two sisters, Mrs. Lobelia Bagsby of Dardanelle and Amanda Sue Jackson of Los Angeles, CA.

Nichols, James Hue

James Hue Nichols, age 21, recently of Hope, died from accidental drowning in a lake south of Fulton April 16. He was an egg inspector of the U. S. Department of Agriculture and stationed with the Hope Egg Plant, was a resident of Dardanelle until about three months ago, and a graduate of Dardanelle High School. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his father, James W. Nichols of California; his stepfather and mother, Ernest Pfeifer and Morene Atkinson Pfeifer; one brother, Paul Nichols of the home; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Duff Atkinson.

Nichols, John

John Nichols, was born in Tennessee in 1865 and died May 20 at the age of 86. He was a member of the Church of God and served as Justice of the Peace for many years in Crawford Township. He was buried in the Shed Cemetery with Rev. Bert Bashaw conducting the funeral service.

Nichols, John Thomas

John Thomas Nichols, 79, of Idabel, Okla. died July 20 at the Oklahoma University Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born at Onyx and had resided in Idabel since 1918, moving from Arkansas. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Elton Willard of Plainview; four sons, Buck and Timmy Nichols, both of Oklahoma City, Calvin Nichols, of Houston, Tex., and Billy Nichols of Idabel; two brothers I.W. Nichols of Broken Bow, Okla., and W.D. Nichols of Califomia; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Turic, Proctor, and Mrs. Armanda Dees, West Memphis; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nichols, Marcella Willadean "Sissy" (Brimm)

Marcella Willadean "Sissy" Nichols, 79 of Ola, passed away December 7, 2012, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 28, 1933, at Rose Creek, Perry County. Arkansas to the late Joseph Franklin and Opal Emily Gunter Brimm. She was a cook for the Yell County Nursing Home for 15 years. She was a volunteer senior companion for the last ten years, winning many awards for her service and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Willie Gerald Nichols; son, Dickie Lee Nichols; brothers, Eldon, Chub, and Venus Brimm.

She is survived by her children, Kevin and Susan Stone of Ola, Rick and Linda Nichols of Dale, OK, Eddy and Sydni Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK, Rusty and Vicki Sisk of Charleston, AR ; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Rogers of Dardanelle, Dean Johnson of Casa, and Janet Garner of Ola; and a host of family of friends.

Noval Juanita Nichols, age 87 of Mt. George died Friday, December 12, 2008 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born June 24, 1921 at Mt. George to the late James Ed and Virginia Dukes Pickens.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank C. Nichols; son, Jackey Nichols; brothers, Ray and Coleman Pickens and sister, Melva Brashear.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson Eddie and Beverly Nichols of Dardanelle, Joseph Freddie Nichols of Mt. George, Frankey Gayle and Kathy Nichols of Russellville; one daughter, Peggy Kay Nichols of Mt. George; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Ranzie Nichols, age 102 of Onyx, died Saturday. Born October 23, 1906 in Onyx, he was the son of the late John and Hester Nichols. He retired from the Forest Service and was a World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Yates Nichols, brothers, Bill, Walter, Bob and Harley Nichols, sisters, Susie Smith, Essie Burrows, and Pearlie Hardin.

Willie G. Buddy Nichols, age 69, of Ola died Monday, April 8, 2002 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Mr. Nichols was born May 24, 1932 in Wynnsboro, Texas to the late Ed and Eula Watkins Nichols. He was a retired bricklayer, a member of the bricklayers union and the Nazarene Church.

Ada Ruth Nigg, age 89, of Dardanelle, AR, formerly of Urbana, IL, died Monday, May 26, 2003 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville, AR. She was born March 5, 1914 in Champaign County, IL to the late Earl and Mattie Martin Harper. She attended schools in Villa Grove and Tuscola, IL, married Otto Slade, August 11, 1935, he died in 1936, married Fredrick Jacob Nigg from December 2, 1940 until his death November 8, 1982. They farmed in the Mahomet, IL area until moving to Urbana, IL in 1954. She moved to Dardanelle, AR in 1993. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russellville.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a grandchild.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Pastor Robert E. and Janet Slade of Harlingen, TX and Phillip C. and Jacque Nigg of Dardanelle, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Bart Cipolla of Altamonte Springs, FL; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ted Wesley Nipps died August 26, 2007 in Danville, Arkansas. He was born April 27, 1918 in Ripley County, Missouri; the youngest child of Charles Lewis Nipps and Mary A. Blackwell Nipps. He grew up, married and raised a family in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Havana, Arkansas from November 2004 until his death.

Ted leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Lillian Lorene Moore Nipps; four children, Ray Grant Nipps of Oklahoma, Rose Mary Starling and spouse Worth of North Carolina, Patricia Kaye Nelson and spouse Terry of Arkansas, Paul Wesley and spouse Susan of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Kimberly Elizabeth Patrick of Georgia, Michael Theron Nelson and spouse Monica of Oklahoma, Rachel Estelle Self and spouse Tim of Oklahoma, Debra Lynn Nipps of California, and Dianna Louise Bressie and spouse Craig of California; eight great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces and friends.

Nix, Inez

Inez Nix, age 85, of Jessieville, passed away October 21, 2009 at a local hospital. She was the second of four daughters, born to Jesse D. and Pearl L. Gallion West on December 26, 1923 at Steve, Arkansas. Inez married her sweetheart Earl Nix on May 18, 1946. She was a retired Postmaster for the US Postal Service and co-owner of Blakely Store with longtime best friend Gladys Bradley.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, one sister - Ella Hill and three brothers-in-laws Clarence Hill, Harold Crain and Morris Tucker.

Amos Bradford Nixon, age 86 of Rover, died January 15 at a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist.

Edna Caviness Nixon, of Danville, died Thursday, December 9, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born in Gravelly, AR March 1, 1904, daughter of the late John C. and Blanche Montgomery Caviness. She was a retired secretary and a member of the Danville First United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Charles Pugh Nixon and a lifelong democrat.

Nixon, Wilson Alexander

Wilson Alexander Nixon, age 94, of Erie, Pa. passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was born on June 16, 1917, in Robinson, Pa., son of the late Walter and Mary Miller Nixon. Wilson served as a navigator and meteorologist with the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1964, retiring with the rank of Major. He served during WWII, and in the Korean War where he flew reconnaissance missions. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. Wilson was a personnel manager in the food industry until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and a volunteer at St. Vincent Health Center. Wilson was a gentle man who brought much joy to his family.

Wilson is survived by his wife Janet Rogers Sekerak Nixon; one daughter, Karen Nixon (Steve Schemmel) of Dallas, Texas; four step-children, Carolyn First (William) of Pleasant Gap, Pa., Suzanne Butcher (Larry) of Keene, N.H., Martha Lynn "Marty" Manchester (Sid) of Edinboro and John Sekerak, Jr. (Martha) of Montgomery Village, Md.; two brothers, Ray Nixon of Armaugh, Pa. and Tom Nixon (Felicia) of Sun City, Fla.; two sisters, Orea Busch of Robinson, Pa. and Jean Wise of Latrobe, Pa.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step- grandchildren; two step-great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Waller Nixon; his second wife, Margaret Anderson Nixon; a daughter, Rebecca Wriker; and five brothers, John, Clark, David, Daniel and Irvan Nixon.

Noakes, Bryon Keith

Bryon Keith Noakes, 53, of Rover, went to be with his Lord, Monday, April 11, 2016, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. The son of Glen and the late Ila Marie Poulos Noakes, he worked most of his life logging with Noakes Logging of Rover.

He was preceded in death by his mother, brother-in-law, Lester Jordan. He loved fishing, hunting anything outdoors.

He survived by his father, Glen Noakes; brother, John Noakes, both of Rover; 2 sisters, Joyce Noakes Agnew Jordan of Rover, Pam Noakes Doolittle and husband Ronald of Monroe, Ml; nieces and nephews, Adam Noakes, Erin Agnew, Andrew Agnew, Andrea Hollingshead, Jason Doolittle, Kathryn'Ann Doolittle and several great nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Faye Noakes, age 76, of Pearcy passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born February 5, 1941, in Grady County, Oklahoma to the late Russell Benjamin & Tressie Leona Lively Harrell. She was a member of the Pearcy Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Jack Noakes; sisters, Carolyn Carter and Linda Owens.

Survivors include her children, Dempsey Noakes (Mary) and Sandra Tuggle all of Hot Springs; siblings, Leona Strickland, Joe Bob Harrell, Leonard Harrell, Lava Reed, Maxine Ware, Charlie Harrell and Joyce Spottedbird; 4 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marie Noakes, 73, of Plainview, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. The daughter of George and Hellen Poulos, she was born June 11, 1937 in Ola. She married Glen Noakes at Rover. She was a homemaker and attended the Plainview Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, country music, cross- words and Wheel of Fortune.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Glen Noakes of Rover; two sons, John and Keith Noakes of Rover; two daughters, Joyce Jordan and husband Lester of Rover and Pam Doolittle and husband Ronald of Monroe, MI; six grandchildren, Adam Noakes of Raleigh, NC, Erin Metcalf and husband Corey of Rover, Andrew Agnew of Russellville, Andrea Chronister of Russellville, Jason Doolittle of Monroe, MI, Kathryn Doolittle of Monroe, MI; and three great grandchilren; William and Matthew Metcalf of Rover and Vanessa Chronister of Russellville.

Ida V. Nobles, age 88 of Oklahoma City, OK passed away April 28, 1997. She was born May 23, 1909 in Belleville, AR to the late Jack and Rosie Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Pete Crawford and Rozelle Bohanah both of Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Clyd Cater of Danville, AR, Veda Conway of Belleville, AR and Vera Bullard and Fredda Morse; a brother, Claud Smith of Belleville, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
