Robert P. Neighbors, 50, a resident of Kansas City, Kans., died at a Kansas City Hospital Friday. Mr. Neighbors was a native of Ozark and the son of Henry L. and Ollie Lessley Neighbors. He was employed by Fairbanks Morse Co. Mr. Neighbors was a member of the Nola Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents of Nola; his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Neighbors; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Harper of Ft. Smith, two brothers, Opal Neighbors of Kansas City, Kans. and Raymond Neighbors of Tulsa; two sisters, Mrs. Imogene Smith of Kansas City, Kans. and Miss Viola Neighbors of Nola; and a grandson. Villa Oedia Neighbors, age 86 of Nola, AR went to be with her Lord December 26, 2009 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville, AR. Villa was born April 27, 1923 in Rover, AR to Henry and Pearl Lessley Neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Pearl Lessley Neighbors; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Onedia Neighbors, Preston and Beatrice Neighbors; brothers, Opal and Claude Neighbors; sister, Imajean (Neighbors) Smith. Villa is survived by four nieces and their husbands Dr. Joan and Bud Harper of Ft. Smith, AR, Patsy and Jake Pickens of Gravelly, AR, Debbie and Dale Gann of Broken Arrow, OK, Dorotha and Roy Lee Austin of Harvey, AR; a nephew and wife, Gary and Loretla Neighbors of Lake Jackson, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends. We all loved her dearly.

She was a member of the Nola Church of Christ. She loved the Lord, the church, her family and friends. Pallbearers were Roy Austin, Roy Hodges, Nathane Hodges, Jamie Pickens, Gary Neighbors, and Mike Austin.

Neighbors, Villa Oedia

Villa Oedia Neighbors, age 86 of Nola, AR went to be with her Lord December 26, 2009 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville, AR. Villa was born April 27, 1923 in Rover, AR to Henry and Pearl Lessley Neighbors.

Villa is survived by four nieces and their husbands Dr. Joan and Bud Harper of Ft. Smith, AR, Patsy and Jake Pickens of Gravelly, AR, Debbie and Dale Gann of Broken Arrow, OK, Dorotha and Roy Lee Austin of Harvey, AR; a nephew and wife, Gary and Loretla Neighbors of Lake Jackson, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends.

We all loved her dearly. She was a member of the Nola Church of Christ. She loved the Lord, the church, her family and friends.

Neims, Larry

13-Year Old Boy Killed By Truck - Larry Neims, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Neims of Belleville Rt. 1, was killed instantly when he fell off a truck at his home last Friday morning. Sheriff Herman McCormick said that Larry was standing up in the back of the truck, with a cotton sack wrapped around him to keep warm. The truck, driven by his brother, Harold Neims, 15, was being backed out of the driveway onto the road when Larry fell over the low sideboard and the front wheel of the truck ran over him. Jim Neims, 15, was riding in the back of the truck and W. L. Neims, 65, the boys' grandfather was riding in the cab. The four were leaving to pick cotton. Neislar, Thos. C.

Thos. C. Neislar, a Dallas industrial appraiser since 1921, died February 16, 1960 in a Dallas hospital after a brief illness. He was 75. A native of Ola, Mr. Neislar spent his early life as a millwright erecting numerous sawmills and cotton oil mills through the Southwest. He later served as general manager of several large cotton oil and cotton gin companies. He had lived in Dallas since 1919.

Nelms, Carmen Estella (Shott)

Carmen Estella Shott Nelms, 78, of Waveland, died Sunday September 23. She is the daughter of the late David Worley Shott and Louisa McBride Shott. Her husband is the late Walter Orvil Nelms.

She is survived by four sons, Odell Nelms and Doyle Nelms both of Waveland, Dow Nelms of Gladewater, TX and Cleatus Nelms of Havana. Three Daughters, Thelma Berry of Irving, TX, Sue Smith of Bellville and Jean Miller of Ft. Smith. One sister, Marie Ensey of Havana. Fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waveland Community Church with the Rev. James Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be in the Shott Cemetery. Mrs. Carmen Shott Nelms, age 78, of Waveland died Sunday, September 23, 1984. She was the widow of Walter Nelms, and daughter of the late David and Louisa McBride Shott.

Clara Nelms, age 96, of Dardanelle, AR. the widow of George D. Nelms, died Monday, February 22, 1999 at the Dardanelle Nursing. Center. A daughter of the late John Wesley and Martha Bell Croley Gabbard, she was born January 25, 1903, at Tahlequah, OK. She was a, member of the Antioch. Baptist; Church, where she was very active in the Dorcas Class.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Wendell, David and Gene Nelms; a daughter, Verna Allen; two brothers, Clarence Gabbard who was her twin brother) and; Lewis Gabbard; a sister, Haley McCalley and five grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Jim Nelms of Ozark; a sister, Nanny Gibson of Tulare, CA; 21 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Nelms, Doyle David

Doyle David Nelms, age 75, of Havana died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 24, 1932 in Waveland, AR to the late Walter Orvil and Carmen Estella Shott Nelms. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Odell Nelms, and sister, Sue Smith.

Survivors include wife of 38 years Opal Lee Nelms, brothers Dow Nelms of Belleville, Cleatus Nelms of Havana, sisters Thelma Berry of Farmers Branch, Texas, Jean Miller of Belleville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Emma Jo Nelms, age 66, of Waveland, AR died Tuesday, April 22, 1997 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born in Waveland, AR September 23, 1930, daughter of the late Rueben J. and Evey M. Downs James. She was a mother and homemaker, and member of the Waveland Community Church. She was the widow of Ervin Odell Nelms and was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvis James.

Survivors include a son, James (Jamie) Ervin Nelms of Waveland; three sisters, Latta Smee of Louisiana, Corrine Walters of Little Rock and Ruby Frame of Shawnee, OK.

Mr. Ervin Odell Nelms, age 68 of Waveland, AR, died Wednesday February 21, 1996 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in Waveland, July 30, 1927 to the late Walter Orvill and Carmen Estella Shott Nelms. He was a WWII Army Veteran, retired sign crew Arkansas Highway Department and was a member of the Havana VFW Post 9645.

Survivors include; his wife, Emma Jo James Nelms; a son, James, (Jamie) Odell Nelms of Waveland, three brothers, Dow Nelms, Belleville, Cleatus Nelms of Havana and Doyle Nelms of Waveland; three sistes, Thelma Berry of Ervin; TX, Sue Smith of Belleville and Jeam Miller of Oklahoma City, OK also several nieces and nephews.

Geneva Odie Nelms, age 73, of Danville, AR, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville, AR. She was born September 5, 1926 in Altus, AR to the late Garner and Mildred Parker Baker. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Danville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. S. Nelms and two sons, Larry Nelms and Harold Nelms and a brother, Doyle Baker.

She is survived by a son, Gary Nelms of Danville, AR; two daughters, Cheryl Millard and Linda Standridge both of Dardanelle, AR; two brothers, Bob Baker of Tulsa, OK and David Baker of Seattle, WA; four sisters, Charlene Spring of Manteca, CA, Betty Spring of Auburn, CA, Fern Greene of Stockton, CA and Alice Eakins of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Services were Monday, October 18, 1999 at the Cornwell Chapel in Danville with Rev. Wiley Jones officiating. Interment was in Shott Cemetery, Waveland, AR by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Nelms, Harold

Harold Nelms, 18 of Belleville was killed in a logging accident Monday afternoon about 20 miles southwest of Danville. The accident occurred near "Tator Hill" on a forest service road. Harold was struck with a lame log after he and his father, Wendell Nelms of Belleville, had stopped their truck to adjust a load of logs that was shifting. Sheriff Herman McCormick said that the youth was apparently killed instantly.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell S. Nelms of Belleville; a brother, Gary Lee Nelms of Belleville; two sisters, Cheryl Ann and Linda Merle, both of the home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Nelms of Booneville, Mitchell Baker of Belleville and Mrs. Mildred Baker of Los Angeles.

He graduated from Havana High School in 1977. He was a very kind person who had many friends in the community.

Nelson, Dennis Farrel

Dennis Farrel Nelson, age 40, of Atkins, AR died Thursday, April 2000 at his home. He was born March 8, 1960 at Russellville to Alton "Hoot" and Peggy Duvall Nelson of Atkins, AR. He owned Custom Auto Paints in Russellville, was a member of the SunRise Bass Club of Yell County and Ada's Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Nelson.

Nelson, Ellen Eliza (Jones)

Ellen Eliza Nelson, age 91, of Rover, AR died Friday, February 25, 2011, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. Born August 31, 1919, in Emmet, AR, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Blanche Norton Jones. She was a registered nurse. She was a Christian and attended the United Methodist Church and served as an Army Nurse during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Nelson; two brothers, John Paul and Wayne Jones; two sisters, Lola Ross and Merle Johnson.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and Reno Romanin of Rover; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Laura Nelson of El Cajon, CA; twin sister, Helen Easterling of Trinity, TX; four grandchildren, R.J. Nelson, J. Fair

J. Fair Nelson, aged 70, of Havana died Wednesday in the Yell County Hospital. He was a retired state employee and an elder in the Havana Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was the son of the late M.M. (Gum) Nelson and Sally Ferguson Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Glidden E. Nelson; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Woker of Russellville, Mrs. Bob Pledger and Mrs. Jack Wilson of Danville; two sons, Lewis M. Nelson of Russellville and Robert J. Nelson of Greenville, Miss.; four brothers; three sisters; and ten grandchildren.

Nelson, R. Jack

R. Jack Nelson, age 60, of Pine Bluff, died Friday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Havana, the son of John Fair and Glidden Hollingsworth Nelson. He was raised in Danville and attended Arkansas Tech University, the University of Central Arkansas and graduate school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He lived in Fort Smith, Fort Worth, Texas, Dardanelle and Greenville, Miss. before moving to Pine Bluff. He was a complex manager for Valmac Industries for 20 years. Most recently he was general manager for S. A. J. Inc. distributors. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the boards of Methodist Churches in several cities. He was a Rotarian and had served as president of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce at Dardanelle. In Mississippi, he was appointed to the Small Business Administration advisory board.

Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Mitchel Nelson; one son, Dr. Dunkin Nelson of Nashville, Tenn. one daughter, Jan Nelson of Little Rock; one brother, Lewis Nelson of Mount Nebo; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Woker of Russellville, Mrs. Joyce Wilson and Mrs. Winifred Pledger, both of Danville.

Funeral will be at 11 a. m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff, with burial at 3 p. m, at Crestlawn Cemetery in Conway. Neuhart, Annie Grace

Annie Grace Neuhart, age 86 died Monday, May 19, 2003 in Fort Smith. She was a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church, a resident of Methodist Village in Fort Smith. Annie Grace was also a retired home economics teacher. She was a member of the Ola Pioneer Study Club, the Yell County Retired Teachers Association. She served with the American Red Cross in the European and Pacific Theaters in World War II. After WWII, she worked with the Red Cross on the reconstruction of Japan.

Memorial services were held Monday, May 26 at the Plainview Methodist Church, Plainview, AR. Cremation conducted at Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville, AR. Also, there was a memorial service held at 3:30 pm, Friday, May, 23 at Methodist Village in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cleo Neuhart of Plainview and two sons, Paul and Cindy Neuhart of Atlanta, GA. Larry Neuhart of Fort Smith. Neuhart, Cleo

Cleo Neuhart, age 98, of Plainview, AR, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 06, 2013 in the Yell County Nursing Home. Cleo was born May 12th, 1915, in Steve, AR Yell County to the late Charles and Hattie Cockman Neuhart.

His wife Annie Grace Evans Neuhart, and his brothers, Cecil and Hartsell Neuhart preceded him in death. Other than a brief move to Charleston, AR, Cleo was a lifelong resident of Yell County. He was one of the first entrepreneurs in the area of Plainview/South Fourche. Cleo founded Arkansas King Poultry Company, and was a board member at the Plainview First State Bank. He was also, a farmer and retail property owner in Plainview. Mr. Neuhart was a member of the Plainview United Methodist Church and was a Mason. Cleo was wed to the late Annie Grace Evans in 1950 for 52 years. His sons, Paul & wife Cindy Neuhart of Atlanta, GA and Larry Neuhart of Fort Smith survive him, as well as Phillip & wife Kathryn Neuhart of New York City, NY and Mackenzie Neuhart of Atlanta, his grandchildren. Cleo (Punkin) will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to his family, to his church, and to the community during his 98 years. His sense of humor, in good times and in bad, was inspirational to everyone. He will be in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Cleo's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Plainview United Methodist Church with Rev. Floyd Ray officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 before service at the church. Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola. While surrounded by family, Cynthia A. Neuhart of Duluth, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter, MacKenzie M. Neuhart; husband, Paul E. Neuhart; mother, Dorothy P. Earle; sister, Melanie J. Earle; stepson, Phillip E. Neuhart and wife Kathryn; and brother-in-law, Larry E. Neuhart. Cindy was born on July 25, 1963 in Melbourne, FL to the late Claude E. Earle and Dorothy P. Earle. The family relocated to Salisbury, NC in 1973, where she graduated from East Rowan Senior High School in 1982. She subsequently attended Pfeiffer University and Catawba College. In her early career, she was a member of Elizabeth Dole's staff in Washington, DC. In the year 2000, Cindy and Paul were married and started their life together in Hickory, NC. She and Paul relocated to Atlanta in 2002 where they have made their home for the past twelve years. With the birth of her daughter, MacKenzie in 2004, Cindy lived completely for MacKenzie's wellbeing and future. The world was a better place with Cindy in it. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Her strength and courage were biblically driven, and her determination was resolute. Cindy's time with us was shortened by cancer, but her life will endure through eternity.
