Mobley, Barry Adrian

Barry Adrian Mobley, age 57, of Sheridan and a 1975 graduate of Danville High School, died December 14, 2014 at St. Vincent Infirmary Hospital. He is the son Adrain and Pebble Mobley of Havana.

Funeral Services will be at the Western Yell County Church of Christ with John McCourt officiating on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 1:00 pm. in Havana. Mobley, Billy W.

Old Friends Die Two, Weeks Apart In California

Billy W. Mobley grew up on the Scrougeout Road between Bluffton and Briggsville. Glen Collins Cathey grew up in Briggsville. Both attended Fourche Valley School and were classmates and friends.

Billy accompanied the Buck King family to Modesto, CA when they moved there in 1943. Glen joined Billy in Modesto in 1944. Both served in the U. S. Army during the latter part of WWII and returned to California. Both loved living in California but cherished their roots in Yell County, Arkansas. They returned to Yell County every chance they got.

Billy returned in April this year to put his home place in good order. He was accompanied by his wife and sister, Glen wanted to make the trip back but was too weak. Both moved to Modesto. Billy moved to Whittier for several years and finally settled in Apple Valley. He was a successful businessman. Among his various enterprises were an English walnut farm and a welding school. Billy was born June 20th, 1927. He died August 18, 1995. He was the son of Edgar (Pud) Mobley and Martha Mobley. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; sons, Billy Michael Mobley of Hesperia, CA and Ronald Mobley of Dana Point, CA and by a stepson, Ray Kuykendall of Hesperia. Other survivors are his mother, Martha Mobley of Livermore, CA; a; brother, George Mobley of Winton, CA; a sister, Norma Lee Chapman of Livermore, CA; nine grand children and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Roger Purdy and the Montecello Masonic Lodge F&AM officiating. Interment was at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Glen settled in Pico Rivera, CA and also had a residence in Las Vegas, NV. He retired after working 38 years for American-National Can Co. He was a member of the American Legion for 30 years. Glen was born November 2, 1926. He died September 2, 1995. He was the son of Tom Cathey and Alice Cathey.

He is survived by his wife, Johnie; a son, Dana Cathey of Pico Rivera; a sister, Ruby Nell Sanner of Monte Vista, CO and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Pico Rivera with final resting place in Las Vegas.

The Fourche Valley High School, class of 1945, had its 50th reunion June 17. Neither Billy nor Glen was able to attend. The rest of the class will always remember these two classmates fondly and will remember that they had the courage to head West when they were young to seek their fortune and they found it. Mobley, Bryce

Bryce Mobley, age 68, president of Mobley Construction Company, which has offices in Dardanelle, Newport and Morrilton, died Tuesday morning at his home in Dardanelle.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bryce Mobley Jr. of Dardanelle, J. B. Mobley of Morrilton and W. R. Mobley of Duarto, Calif., two daughters, Miss Mary Lynn Mobley of Dardanelle and Mrs. B. R. Mobley, Edgar

BLUFFTON - Edgar Mobley, age 71, of Bluffton (Yell County), a farmer, died Tuesday, November 26, 1974.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha Willie Mobley of California; two sons, Bill Mobley and George Mobley, both of California; a daughter. Mrs. Norma Lee Chapman of California; ; two brothers, Elie Mobley of Briggsville and Ocie Mobley of California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mobley, George "Junior"

George "Junior" Mobley, 84, passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA on August 28th, 2015. Born in Fouche Valley, Arkansas, George was the middle child of Edgar and Martha C. Mobley.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Bill Mobley. George left Arkansas at the age of 17 and followed his brother to Stockton, California where he developed his love of the Golden State. After serving in the United States Air Force, George returned to Arkansas in 1956, and married his high school sweetheart, Martha Sue Carpenter; they then settled in Southern California. After graduating from Long Beach State with a degree in Business, George was hired by Guy F. Atkinson Construction Company of South San Francisco, California, where he worked for 32 years. He was a job site manager for many heavy construction jobs in and around California - building dams, bridges, and freeways. His job in later years took him to the Dominican Republic, Israel, Canada, and many other places throughout the world. After retirement, he turned his weekend farming hobby into a full-time almond farming operation and settled in Winton, CA for over 20 years. George had a lifelong passion for cars and enjoyed touring California with his friends in the Gateway A's of Merced.

George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha Sue Mobley, daughters Deanna (David) Bing of Livermore, CA and Connie (Charles Ritter) Mobley-Ritter of San Mateo, CA; five grandchildren Christopher (Andrea) Bing, Katie (Matt Lee) Bing, Molly Bing, Devon Mobley-Ritter, and James Nicholas Mobley-Ritter; great-grand daughter Madeline Bing; sister Lee (Dick) Giroux; and nephews, Billy M. Mobley and Ron Mobley. George was actively involved in the Atwater United Methodist Church, the Gateway A's of Merced, and the Atkinson Orphans. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. George was known for his wonderful stories, and had a smile and good word for all. He will be loved and missed always. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Atwater United Methodist Church, 2550 Linden St., Atwater, CA, with a reception to follow. Mobley, Hayden Dean

Hayden Dean Mobley, age 52 of Belleville, died Saturday, February 23, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville. He was born in Paris, Arkansas on September 7, 1949 to the late Tommy and Merle Hood Mobley. He was a horse trainer, a farmer and a member of the Yell County Rodeo and Riding Club. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Grady May and a nephew, Phillip Mobley.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy May Mobley; a son, Mitch Mobley of Havana; a daughter, Lyndsey Mobley of Belleville; a grandson, Tripp Mobley of Havana; two brothers, Aaron D. Mobley of Oklahoma and Adrian Mobley of Havana; his mother-in-law, Bessie May of Belleville and one uncle, Arless Hood of Havana.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3:00 p. m. at the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Newton and Reverend Bill Storts officiating. James Mobley, 40, Morrilton, died in a hospital in Memphis last night. He was a native of Yell county and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. William C. Mobley.

He is survived by a son, Jimmie B. Mobley, Morrilton, and a step-son, Bill Tarkington, Granite City, Mo.; seven brothers, Dr. A. L. Mobley, Ft. Bayard, N. M.; Dr. H. E. Mobley, Morrilton; Gus, Clarksville; Orbie and Chester Mobley, Lubbock, Tex.; Opal, San Jose, Cal.; Troy, Batesville; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Harrison, Wellston, Okla., and Mrs. W. C. Morris, Bigelow. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Mobley, James Herbert

James Herbert Mobley, aged 63, of North Little Rock, a department foreman with the American Radio and Television Co., died on Monday, November 14. He was a native of Havana and was a son of the late James H. and Nora Moore Mobley. He was a past vice-president of the United Furniture workers of America and presently was serving as secretary-treasurer.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Cark Mobley; five sons, Robert Mobley of Los Angeles, and Billy J., John Jr., Claude C., and James H. Mobley Jr. of Little Rock; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Marie Shadell, Mrs. Lois Moore, Mrs. Thelma Barnett and Mrs. Jake James of Danville; 20 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

BRIGGSVILLE-Joseph Elie Mobley, age 83, of Briggsville (Yell County) was struck and killed by lightening outside his home Friday, June 6, 1975. Mr. Mobley was a retired farmer and member of Briggsville United Methodist Church and Bluffton Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Luda Whisenant Mobley; a son, John Mobley of Benton; three daughters. Mrs. Willene Armstrong and Mrs. Sarah Venable, both of Arizona, Mrs. Undean Reed of Dumas; a brother, Ocie Mobley of California, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Leonard "Buddy" Mobley, age 66 of Ola, died Saturday, February 21, 2009, at his home. Born October 24, 1942, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Taylor Rufus and Willie Mae Calhoun Mobley. He was a member of the Army National Guard and a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita McNeer, Ann Dodson; and a son-in-law, Benjamin Whitted.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Betty Warren Mobley of Dardanelle; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Grady Mobley of Arkadelphia, Tommy and Wendy Mobley of Donaldson, AR, Taylor Mobley of Dardanelle; a daughter, Nancy Whitted of Dardanelle; three sisters, Mary Stevens, Geneva Abies, and Virginia Hearn, all of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Austin, Summer, and Timothy Mobley of Arkadelphia, T. Mobley, Martha C.

Martha C. Mobley, age 90, a long-time resident of Yell County, Arkansas, died Wednesday night, April 16, 1998 in Livermore, CA after a long illness. She was born in Hot Springs, raised in Story, and lived many years in Bluffton before relocating in California. After a career in care nursing, she retired to Winton, CA in 1973 where she live for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Lee Rotha of Livermore; a son, George (Junior) Mobley of Winton; an older sister, Lyda Taylor of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Mobley and her husband, Edgar "Pud" Mobley. She loved to work in her garden, cook for her grandkids, and help people any way that she could.

She lies in rest in the Winton Cemetery where she can still be near her flowers and her almond orchard. Thomas William Mobley, age 86, of Havana, AR died Thursday, December 7, 1995 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born in County Line, AR, May 23, 1909 son of the late Enoch M. and Molly Grant Mobley. He was a retired livestock dealer and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Merle Hood Mobley.

Survivors include three sons, Aaron Mobley of Van Buren, AR, Adrian Mobley of Havana, AR and Hayden Mobley of Belleville, AR; two sisters, Vera Johnson of Fairfax, OK and Selma Kelsey of Georgia; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Moeller, Brenda K.

Brenda K. Moeller, age 56, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Thursday, January 10, 2002 at her home in Bella Vista. She was born November 7, 1945 in Waldron, Arkansas to Ray Theo and Claudia Ernestine Parker Hunt. She moved to Bella Vista in January 1996 from Anchorage, Alaska. She worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Anchorage, Alaska for over ten years. She was a member of the Bella Vista United Lutheran Church. She was an avid golfer, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jim Moeller of Bella Vista, AR; one son, Timothy S. Moeller and wife Staci of Leawood, Kansas; one daughter, Cindy M. Henry and husband Matthew of Anchorage, Alaska; parents, Ray and Claudia Hunt of Havana, AR; two brothers, Charles Hunt and wife Wanda of Ft. Smith, AR, Parker Hunt and wife Mary of Bentonville, AR; two sisters, Helen Coots and husband Jim of Van Buren, AR, Anna Thornton and husband David of Bella Vista, AR and one granddaughter Caitlin Moeller.

Moler, Curtis "Shorty" Wesley

Curtis "Shorty" Wesley Moler, age 77, of Desoto, TX, formerly of Danville, AR, died Saturday, September 13, 1997 at Desoto Nursing Home in Desoto. He was the son of the late William Wesley and Lela Pearl Monroe Moler. He was a retired truck driver and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a Baptist having accepted the Lord in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Doyle Moler of Alexander, AR, Loyd Moler of Vilonia, AR and Jimmy Moler of Duncanville, TX; a brother, Paul Moler of Oscela, IA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

William Wesley Moler, 67, of near Plainview died at his home Sunday. He was a retired farmer, member of the Nazarene Church and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lela Pearl Moler of the home; two sons, Curtis Moler of Danville and Paul Moler of Iowa; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Billie Burnett of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Beatrice Goodgion of Duncan, Okla.

Moles, Kenneth V.

Kenneth V. Moles, age 77, of Delaware, AR died Thursday, May 4, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born August 21, 1922 in Scranton, AR to the late Levi and Sarah Jane Willis Moles. He was a retired John Deere service machinery salesman having worked for Keenan Implement Company for many years He was a member of the 2nd Marine Division serving four years in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Tri-County Water Board for 13 years, a charter member of the Yell County Mounted Patrol and the Riding Club, serving in many capacities, including commander. He was the assistance chief for the Delaware Rural Fire Department for 5 years and then served as chief for one, having to retire for health reasons. He was a supporter for the Dardanelle Sand Lizards and was given the first game ball played on the New Keenan Football field, he was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 69, a charter member of Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 and a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Delaware.

Survivors are, his wife of 49 years, Ellen Garner Moles; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Tami Moles of Delaware, AR a brother, Ted Moles of Ft. Smith, AR; two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Kendall Moles of Dardanelle, AR and Kevin and Tonya Moles of Delaware, AR; one step-granddaughter, Charity Darter of Delaware, AR; one great-granddaughter Madalyne Blair Moles of Delaware AR and several nieces and nephews.

Services were May 8 2000 at the Delaware First Baptist Church with Rev. Wiley Jones officiating Interment was in Graves Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR. Pallbearers were, Senior Members of the Yell County Mounted Patrol; honorary were Deacons of the First Baptist Church Delaware, member of the Delaware Rural Fire Department, Yell County Mounted Patrol, Tri-County Rural Water Board and the Arkansas Chapter and Mississippi Chapter of the T Marine Division. Moller, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" (Pahlka)

Bobbie Moller, 63, daughter of Richard and Velma Pahlka, was born Oct. 4, 1938, at San Francisco, Calif. She died Sept. 24, 2002. Mrs. Moller was a member of the Anutt Community Church. She worked most of her life caring for the elderly in nursing homes and raising eight children as a single parent.

She was preceded in death by her mother; one son, Doug Moller; a daughter, Kelly Moller; and a grandson.

Surviving are her six children, Danny Moller, Deanna Hansen, Terri Hatfield, Amanda Stambaugh, Jens Moller and Leona Moore; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept.

Archie Dee Molloy, age 72, of Russellville, AR, died Thursday, November 25, 1999 at his home. He was born in Pope County, a son of the late Vannie and Myrtle McCoy Molloy. He was a retired carpenter and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by, one son, Randy Molloy; one daughter, Judy Molloy; one brother, Norman Molloy; an infant grandson and an infant granddaughter.

Johnny Lee Monday, age 39, of Ft. Smith died Saturday, June 21, 1980 at Kerr Lake in Oklahoma. He worked as a salesman and was a member of the Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church and Bass Club.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Moudy Monday; one son, Arlen; one daughter, Lisa; all of the home, his mother, Mrs. Lucy Monday; two brothers and five sisters, all of Ft. Smith. He is the son-in-law of J. B. and Marie Moudy of Havana.

Funeral services were held June 23 at the Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Chescher and Rev. E. O. Tackett officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were J. Monday is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Allen Robert Monday, a son Robert Monday, two sisters Lois Wood and Imogene Head, two brothers Charles Pruett, and Melvin Pruett.

She is survived by a daughter Rebecca Monday Taylor, three brothers Mike Monday and Joseph Monday, all of Judsonia, Allen Monday of Searcy, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Nelson Montero,age 53, of Pottsville, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at his home. The son of Ramon Montero Hernandez and Amelia Leon Gomez, he was born April 24, 1954 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He married Jean Hill on August 9, 1985 in Clarksville. He was employed with Tyson Foods of Dardanelle for 23 years, recently as a Maintenance Mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents in Cuba.

Survivors include his wife Jean Montero of Pottsville; two stepsons, Dale Duvall of Morrilton, Tony Duvall of Conway; a stepdaughter, Crystal Hill of Russellville; five step grandchildren; several relatives still living in Cuba and many friends from Tyson Foods, Hampton Inn and Hartman Properties.
