Mrs. Mary Jane Mabry, aged 83, died January 11 at Benton, where she had lived the past 16 years. She was a native of Pike County but had spent most of her life in Yell County. Mrs. Mabry was the widow of Arthur Burton Mabry and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest Mabry of Watson, Thurman Mabry of Bell, Calif, Auborn Mabry of Mena and Bernard Mabry of Benton; two daughters, Mrs. Zelda Summit of Benton and Mrs. Zelma Summit of Hamburg; two brothers, George and Bob Muncrief and two half-brothers, Arnold and David Muncrief, all of Oklahoma; two half-sisters, Ona Jennings of Gravelly and Cora Hockersmith of Oklahoma; 43 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Olvin Mabry, age 86, of Chula passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010, after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born September 11, 1923, in Chula to Luther R. and Melissa Hunt Mabry. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 and was a World War II veteran. He graduated from OSU in 1951 with a degree in agriculture, retired in 1975 from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers where he was a real estate appraiser and was a member of Aly Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brandon Dale Mabry.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Irene Willis Mabry; three children and two daughters-in law, Keith and Tammy Mabry of Dover, Vicki Mabry of Little Rock, and Kelly and Barbara Mabry of Russellville; and four grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica Mabry of Russellville and Ashlee and Hunter Mabry of Dover.
Funeral will be at 11 a. m. today at Aly Community Church with Josh Harper officiating. Burial will be in Chula Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home. Sadie Reed Mabry, age 90, Ozark, AR, died January 19, 1994 at the Hospital in Ozark. She was a homemaker and Pentecostal.

Waymon A. Maybry, aged 63 of Ola died at the Yell County hospital in Danville July 18. He was a native of Yell County and a retired Assembly of God preacher.

DARDANELLE - Mrs. Hazel H. Mackie, age 88, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, December 10, 1985, at Fort Smith. She was the daughter of the late William and Etta Lacey Hatfield, and a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include three sons, W. R. Mackie of Boulder, Colo. Thomas S. Mackie of Dallas, Texas and Edwin John Mackie of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, T. Mrs. Amber Jeanine Madden, age 19, of Danville, AR died Thursday, May 6, 1999. She was born September 13, 1979 in Harrison County, TX and was a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Willie Mae Chennault and an uncle, Wayne Kilough.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Madden; three sons, Kyle Wayne Madden, Austin Madden and Dalton Madden all of the home; her father, Rodger Dale Chennault of Fayetteville; one sister, Courtney Chennault of Bay town, TX; one aunt, Pattie Kilough of Livingston, TX and a host of friends.

Betty Lou Madden, age 75 of Dardanelle, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born November 3, 1932 at Chickalah Mountain to the late Everett and Ivie Rutledge Branch. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Boyce Woods Veterans of Foreign War Post #3141of Dardanelle. She worked at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville for the past 10 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Ivie Branch; husband of 27 years, James Boyce Madden; sister, Grace Branch; brother, Buford "Sonny" Branch.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Don Leonard, Mickey and Mike Malone, all of Dardanelle; son, Frank Madden of California; granddaughters, Erin and Cari Leonard of Dardanelle, Tonya Madden of California, Alicia Robinson of Dardanelle; great-grandson, Restin Lee Robinson; various other family and friends.

Cpl. Linnis Madden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harve Madden, of Danville, was born February 11, 1916 near Danville. Cpl. Madden was killed in action in Italy of wounds received April 17, 1946. He entered Military Service on February 26, 1942 at Camp Robinson, received his training in Camp Bowie, Texas, Camp Hill, Virginia and Camp Sutton, South Caroline. He was assigned to Co. A. 757 Tank Battalion and went overseas in February 1943. He went through the African Campaign and was sent to Italy where he had been for more than a year. He received a Bronze Star in 1944.
Cpl. Linnis married Miss Thelma Suggs of Dardanelle on January27, 1943. Besides his widow he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Madden, three brothers, Felix, Rt. 1, Danville Lamar of the home and Everett of North Little Rock; four sisters, Mrs. Archie Dow, Mrs. Randolph Redden, both of Danville, Mrs. Earnest Brewer of Rover, and Mrs. Roy Patton, Clovis, New Mexico; and a host of relatives.

Wanda Lee Herring Madden, March 30th, 1938 - May 28th, 2016 Life Legacy If you knew her as Wanda, Wanda Lee, or Lee, you were blessed to know a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Wanda Lee's life began in Yell County, Arkansas on March 30th, 1938. During the first two years of her life, she moved, with her parents Walton and Juanita Rogers Herring, to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There she spent several of her early years. During these years she would travel back to Danville to spend summer vacations with her grandparents, Thomas John Henry and Mary Lena Francis Hunt Rogers and Herbert and Ollie Carrouth Herring. She also loved and appreciated several aunts and uncles who blessed her life throughout the years. They, each in their own way, loved and appreciated Wanda Lee as well. They, too, knew that they were very fortunate to have this wonderful niece. During these vacations, she learned to love not only her family but also she developed a love for animals. She would ride her horse, Lady, to the "Back Valley" with her Uncle Dale and help him check the cattle. Many times she shared this story and mentioned that it was some of the happiest times in her formative years. This love for animals continued throughout her entire life. She moved back to Danville and attended Danville High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Albert Joe "Sonny" Madden. Sonny and Wanda Lee were married on April 10, 1954. Wanda Lee was 16 years old. Some said that it wouldn't last; however, those skeptics were wrong. Sonny and Lee had a storybook romance that continued throughout 62 years of marriage. They moved to North Little Rock and there Lee enrolled in school to finish her senior year. Sonny joined the United States Air Force. This proved to be a news worthy event. Wanda Lee was one of very few married students in North Little High School and the only one who wore her wedding band to school. School policy stated that students were prohibited to wear wedding rings to school. That love of her life was now away from her and serving his country. She was not about to remove the ring that meant so much to her. She was one who took her marriage vows seriously. After much publicity, involving the sympathetic mayor of North Little Rock and the not so sympathetic school officials, this undaunted and dedicated young bride left the North Little Rock School System and with that much loved ring still on her finger, moved back to her home town of Danville where she finished her senior year at Danville High School. After 7 years of marriage, the second love of her life came. They named him Kelly Joe, the only child born to Sonny and Wanda Madden. Here began the life legacy and posterity of 1 son, 4 grandchildren, Chase, Kane, Kayla and Kelyn and 6 great grandchildren, all of whom lovingly refer to her as "Sugar" referencing the love and care she lavished on each one of them. She devotedly moved with her Military Husband and lived in many parts of the globe. The most favorite was their home in Alaska. There they retired from the Air Force and began a new career in the Boating Industry. Both Sonny and Kelly followed these lucrative jobs and each one became Captain's of vessels. Because of their love for the sea and of the home they enjoyed together, they chose to stay in Alaska for 32 years. Kelly still works there today and maintains a home in Florida. While in Alaska, Lee worked for a period of time in the accounting department of a food service company. While this was successful, she made the choice to return to the job she enjoyed most, that being the care of her family. After moving back to Missouri, she and her husband bought and decorated a beautiful home with the collection of Native American Art that she and Sonny loved and had gathered throughout their lifetime together. Wanda Lee Herring Madden, writer of stories, collector and lover of books and art, craftsman, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, passed from this life on May 28th, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri. At a later date she will be laid to rest with her husband in a preselected place. There they will watch the sun rise and set over the ocean that both of them loved so much. The concept of death is but a change in life, not the end of life. Wanda Lee will be sorely missed by her loving husband and son, by her extended family and by all who knew her. Ada Florene Maddon, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Leisure Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on April 30, 1928 in Waynesville, Missouri, the daughter of Byron & Margie (Taylor) Spangle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Warren George Maddon.
She is survived by two brothers, Lloyd Spangle of Claremore, Oklahoma, Larry Spangle of Houston, Texas, a sister Joan Clanton, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, several step-children and other relatives and friends.
Grave Side services and Interment for Ada Florene Maddon will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 15, 2011 at Welch Cemetery in Welch, Oklahoma. Mrs. Juanita Madden [Wanetta Fae James Maddon], 42, died December 21 in a Tulsa, Okla. hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Jack Madison, age 86, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born in Carden Bottoms on October 10, 1917 son of the late Bill Jack and Addie Mae Outlaw Madison. He was a retired sheet metal engineering assistant, for Garrett Aircraft Corp. Lon Angeles, CA. He was an Army Veteran, a life member and past Commander of the Russellville VFW Post 2283 and a member of the Russellville Eagles Lodge 3928.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara New Madison; a son Jack Madison, Jr.; three brothers, Buck, J. B. and George Will Madison and a sister, Ellen Leslie.
