Anna Sue Flippin, age 71 of Little Rock, AR died Saturday, July 7, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dow and Mary Helen Miller Caldwell and her husband, Billy E. Flippin.

Mr. Clarence Flood, age 73, of Perryville, AR, died Friday, March 13, 1998. He was born June 3, 1924 in Hazen, AR, a son of Edward I. Flood and Donnilee Foster Flood. He was a retired construction worker and was of the Baptist faith.

Marilyn Sue Flournoy, age 65 of Ola, died Monday, May 14, 2007 at her home. She was born October 10, 1941 at Ola to Wiley Lee and Vera Mae Foster Hayes. She was a truck driver while living in Oklahoma and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ola Chapter #386.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wiley Lee Hayes.

Claude G. Flowers was born in 1883 at Whitewright, Texas. He died Tuesday, March 30, 1948 at 4:20 p. m. and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Flowers, and four sons and two foster daughters, W. H. Flowers, San Diego, CA; Newman Flowers, Mountain View, CA; Joe Flowers, Merced, CA; James Flowers, Planada, CA; Mrs. Clara Leary, Oakland, CA; Mrs. Dura Collis, Merced, CA and one sister, Mrs. Alice Bell, Munday, TX. He has nine grand children and two foster grand children.
Mr. Flowers was converted at the age of 18 and joined the Southern Missionary Church at that time. He led a Christian life from that time until he died. He was ordained a deacon in 1910. He was active in church work until his health broke in 1943 and was an ideal husband and father.

Newmon Flowers, age 72, of Mountain View, Calif. whose wife, Foy Harger Flowers was a former resident of Yell County, died Tuesday, May 27, 1986 at his home. He was a native of Texas, and a member of Mountain View Eagles Lodge Aerie 2356 and Carpenters Union Local 665 at Palo Alto, Calif.

Bill G. Floyd, M. D. died November 12, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born May 20, 1931 in Little Rock to Joe H. and Janice Ross Floyd of Ft. Smith while his mother was staying with her mother, Ada Burruss Ross. After 6 years in Ft. Smith and 1 year in Newport, he lived most of the rest of his life in Little Rock. After the 1st grade in Newport, he attended public schools in Little Rock, graduating from Little Rock Senior High in 1949 where he was an athletic manager/student trainer. He attended Little Rock Junior College, now UALR. He was a student manager for three football seasons and participated in the Junior Rose Bowl team of 1949. Bill was elected president of the student body of Lee Grammar, West Side Junior High and was president of the student body at LRJC in 1950-51. After finishing LRJC, he spent one spring and summer at Hendrix College then entered medical school at what has become UAMS in 1952. After graduating in 1956 and 2 years of internal medicine training, he spent 4 years at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. as a resident in OB-GYN. He returned to Little Rock in 1962 to begin practice with Hoyt Choate, who had delivered him (and later married Bill's aunt.) Bill and Jerry Sue Brewer Stebbins were married February 16, 1957 and remained so for over 56 years.
In addition to Jerry, survivors include their children, Paul Floyd, Madeline Floyd and Stephanie Purifoy. In addition, he is survived by grandsons Philip Bruce Purifoy III and William Joseph Purifoy with whom he spent many happy hours.
In addition he leaves one nephew, one niece, and several 'greats'...He was preceded in death by his brother Tom Floyd of Forest City, Arkansas. Bill began practice with Dr. Hoyt Choate and Harlan Hill in 1962 and in 1971, he established The Little Rock OB GYN Clinic which became The Little Rock Gynecology Clinic when he confined his practice to gynecology for many years before retirement. He was a member of the Pulaski County Medical Society, Arkansas Medical Society, the Southern Medical Association and the AMA. In addition he was board certified in OB GYN. After 32 years in practice plus his years of training, Bill estimated he attended nearly 10,000 births. Bill was a member of Wilson's Tigers, a group of players and managers from Coach's 1947-1957 teams and became a member of the UALR Sports Hall of Fame for his participation in LRJC's trip to the Little Rose Bowl in 1949. He was a long time member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church where he had served on the Board of Stewards and was a member of the Dietz Dialogue Class. He had served on many committees at area hospitals, served as chief of the OB/GYN section and was Chief of Staff at Baptist during the construction of the "New" Baptist Hospital. For several years before retirement, he taught both Surgery and GYN residents from UAMS when they rotated at Baptist. He held simultaneous appointments as associate clinical professor in both Surgery and OB/GYN at UAMS, the only person so honored. After retiring, Bill and Jerry spent time in genealogy research traveling to several states looking for ancestors. They spent a lot of time in old cemeteries. He always said that was some of his favorite times. Also after retiring, he had a garden at the County Farm until he could no longer physically care for it. He was especially proud of his tomatoes and canned tomatoes and tomato sauce.
A visitation will be held Sunday November 17, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home. His funeral will be Monday at 2:00 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. A brief reception will be held following the service in the church reception area followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. EARNEST LEE FLOYD, age 85 of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2010. He was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Ola, Ark. to the late J.P. Pete Floyd and Manda Maudie McIlroy Floyd. He was owner/ operator of Kool-Vent AluminumAwning Company since 1948 in North Little Rock. He was also the owner of Arkansas Building Products. He was a member of the Hogan Hunting Club. He loved rabbit hunting and having his morning coffee at McDonalds with his buddies. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dee Floyd.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florene Bolton Floyd; daughter, Sandra Korte; grandchildren, Joey Korte (DeAnna), Leslie Korte Traweek (Robbie); great grandchildren Ryan and Kyle Shannon all of Little Rock. He was loved by his beagles and all his rabbit and coon hunting buddies.

(29 June 1871 1 June 1922 - Hunts Chapel Cemetery) Hon. Geo. E. Floyd of Plainview, for the past 25 years a prominent figure in the public life of Yell County, died at his home last Thursday morning at 8:00 oclock from the effects of a self-administered dose of poison taken the day previous. Mr. Floyd had been in declining health for more than a year and his rash act was doubtless due to the apparent hopelessness of regaining his health.
Geo. E. Floyd was born June 29th, 1871, near Springfield, Conway County, Ark., being at the time of his death 51 years of age. He came to the Yell County in early childhood and had continued to reside here continuously since. On October 24th, 1895, he was married to Miss Minnie Gladden, who lived but a year and four months after marriage. On April 27th, 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Wilkerson, who survived him. To his latter union one child was born, a son who died in infancy.
Mr. Floyd was admitted to the bar at Danville on September 3rd, 1989, and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in May , 1906, He represented Yell County in the lower house of the General Assembly from 1897 to 1900 inclusive, a was a member of the Senate from this District from 1905 to 1909, inclusive. He served six terms as Mayor of Plainview, 1910 to 1916. He was editor of the Fourche Valley Herald from November 1st, 1919 to October 1st, 1921.
Mr. Floyd was a member of the M. E. Church, South, also the Masonic fraternity, the Odd Fellows, the W. O. W. and the Knights and Ladies of Honor.
Funeral services were held at the family home at 1:00 oclock Friday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. J. M. Williams of Plainview, Rev. N. E. Fair of Belleville, and Rev. Claude Hill of Booneville. In charge of the Masonic Fraternity, the remains were conveyed to the cemetery at Rover where interment was made.
Besides his widow, Mr. Floyd is survived by one sister, Miss Zetta Floyd, of Poteau, Okla. and two brothers, Andrew Floyd of Charleston, Ark., and Rev. J. C. Floyd of Tulsa, Okla.
Geo. E. Floyd was a man of unusual attainments, a brilliant lawyer, and eloquent speaker and a forceful writer. He had an abiding faith in the greatness of this State and County, and until stopped by declining health was an earnest and successful worker for the material, moral and educational upbuilding of this section. True to his friends, fair to his enemies, generous, kindly and considerate in all of his dealing with his fellows. George Floyd was a man who won the respect and admiration of all with whom he came in contact and his untimely death brings regret and sorrow to every section of the County which he loved so well, and for whose betterment and growth he so long and earnestly labored. George Odell Floyd, age 71, of Ola, AR, died Friday, June 25, 1999 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was born October 20, 1927 in Lonoke, AR to the late Reece Euel and Iva Lou Dick Floyd. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, a WWII Army Veteran and a retired Southern Railroad employee.

Joe Henry Floyd, age 89, of Little Rock, died Saturday, August 22, 1998, in Forrest City, Ark. Mr. Floyd was born in Rover, Ark., the son of the late William Taylor and Ruby Hunt Floyd. He was a graduate of Rover High School later marrying Janice Ross Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Theater. Upon his return to Arkansas he worked at Ray Winder Field for many years before the Arkansas Highway Department from which he retired in 1974.
Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years and a grandson, Tom Floyd.
He is survived by two sons, Tom J Floyd of Forrest City, Ark., and Dr. Bill G Floyd of Little Rock; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
