Mrs. Florida Victoria Craft, 58, of Dardanelle died in a Russellville hospital Sunday. She was a native of Muskogee, Okla. and had lived in Dardanelle most of her life. She was a Baptist.

Jennie Mae Craft, age 75, of Havana, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at St. Vincent Doctors Hospital in Little Rock She was born July 8, 1929 in Waveland to the late Edgar Burl and Bessie Cowley Parks. She was a homemaker and mother, attended the Havana Church of Christ and retired as plant manager for West-Ark Garment Factory
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melton Wayne Craft and a daughter, Sheila Eagle.
Survivors are her children and spouses, Eddie and Sheri Craft and Sondra and Gary Cobb all of Little Rock; brother, Clyde Parks of Booneville; sisters, Ina Kay Barham and Burlene Parks both of Havana; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Cornwell Chapel in Danville with John McCourt officiating. Internment was held in Scott Cemetery at Waveland, by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Mrs. Anna Crafton, age 74 of Bluffton died March 28 at her home. She was a native of Montgomery County and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie A. Crafton; a son, Omer Crafton of Dumas; a brother, John Vandiver of Mount Ida.

James Carl Craig, age, 72, of Russellville, AR formally of Mt. View, AR died Sunday, August 29, 2004 at home. He was born October 5, 1931 in Blytheville, AR to the late James William Craig and Ora Stella Gilbert. He attended Vine Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. View.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Clarlee and Ronald L. Craig and one sister, Joyce Haster.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora Craig of the home; three sons, Phillip Carl Craig of Belleville, James Allen Craig of Danville and Van Richard Craig of Wasilla; two daughters, Barbara Louise Litsey and Phyllis Marie Trimble both of Russellville, AR; three brothers, Henry Thurl Craig, his twin of Mt. View, AR, William Jackson Craig of Timbo, AR and Kenneth M. Craig of Colomn, MI; one sister, Geraldine Church of Salem, AR; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mrs. Edna Edith Crain, age 87 of Cardon Bottom, AR, widow of Jack H. "Hence" Crain, died Saturday, January 17, 1998 at AMI St. Mail's Hospital in Russellville. She was born October 10, 1910 in Rainier, OR to the late William F. and Phoebe J. Peoples Yates. She was a member of the Cardon Bottom Free Will Baptist Church, a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lena Mae Rook; two grandsons, Kenny Rook and Gordon H. Crain; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Virginia Crain of Cardon Bottom, AR and Jack and Frances Crain of Walnut Creek, CA; son-in-law, Kenneth Rook of Dardanelle, AR; a brothers, Cecil Jr. Lacy of Hot Springs, AR and three sisters, Mildred Rainey and Wyonia Faulkner both of Pine Bluff and Virginia McGohan of Bryant Cove, AR; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Frances Ann Crain, age 69, of Walnut Creek, CA formerly of Centerville, AR died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek. Mrs. Crain was born July 27, 1932 in Centerville, AR to the late Rufus Leonard and Sybil Davenport Walker. She graduated in 1950 from Dardanelle High School as Valedictorian of her class and was an honor graduate from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA. She was a real estate broker, homemaker, and mother.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, R. L. Walker and Billy Joe Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Jack H. Crain; two sons, Bill R. Crain of Kansas City, MO, Bradley J. Crain of Walnut Creek, CA;, and a daughter, Amanda G. Crain of Oahu, Hawaii; three grandsons, William Crain, Dylan Crain, Jaxon Crain and a granddaughter, Diana Crain.
Services were held Saturday, January 5, 2002, at 2:00 p. m. at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. Denver Robinson officiating. Gerald Crain, age 77, a resident of Perry, AR died Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born May 28, 1923 at Hollis, AR to Dennis and Lillie (Moss) Crain. He attended Plainview-Rover High School and Arkansas State Teachers College at Conway. He was a retired teacher with the Perry-Casa School System. He was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church of Hollis.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Crain; a sister, Guelelma Hawks; a brother, Opal Harold Crain and his parents.

Gordon H. Crain, age 86, of Dardanelle died Saturday, April 21 at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born April 24, 1926 in Cardon Bottom to the late Jack Henderson "Hence" Crain, Sr. and Edna Yates Crain. He was a farmer and cattle rancher. He and his twin brother, Jack served in the Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lena Mae Rook, brother-in-law, P.K. Rook, sister-in-law, Frances Crain and his twin brother, Jack H. Crain, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Virginia Bata Crain; one son, Tim Crain and wife, Denise of Dardanelle; daughter, Brenda Snider and husband. Harley Mitchell Crain, age 80, of Hollis, AR died November 11, 2007 in Yell County, AR. He was born in Hollis to the late Dennis & Lillie Moss Crain on Sept 23, 1927. He had worked as a farmer raising cattle and growing chickens for Tyson Foods, and had also been employed by the U. S. Forestry Service and had worked for Weyerhaeuser. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing gospel music and was a member of Hollis Jesus Name Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Opal & Gerald Crain; a sister Gulema Hawks; and three grandsons Rodney Potter, Christopher Crain and Byron Castleberry.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Versee Graves Crain; three sons Harley Jr. & Phyllis Crain, Michael & Mary Crain and Tommy Crain all of Hollis, AR; two daughters Diane & Carl Potter of Aly, AR and Patsy Castleberry of Jessieville; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Jack Henderson Crain, Jr. age 83 of Dardanelle, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. Born April 24, 1926 in Carden Bottoms, he was the son of the late Jack Henderson Crain, Sr. and Edna Yates Crain. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Frances Ann Walker Crain.
Survivors include two sons, Bill R. Crain and wife, Claire of Kansas City, Missouri, Bradley J. Crain of Paradise, California; daughter, Amanda G. May 29, 1911 -- June 13, 1999 John Crain, 88, of Cressey died Sunday at his home. Mr. Crain was a native of Yell County, Ark. He lived in Cressey 50 years. He had retired after a 35-year career as a forklift driver for Davis Canning Co; he belonged to Teamsters union Local 748. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Winton.
He is survived by his children, Vivian Crain of Delhi, Barbara Amaya, Penny Serpa, Lewis Crain and Philip Crain, all of Cressey, and Johnny Crain of Atwater; and 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Winton District Cemetery, Winton. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Redwood Chapel of Ivers & Alcorn, Atwater. Editor's Note - As we were scrambling to compile all of the information on the death of Floyd Cramer last week, just before press time, we mistakenly printed wrong, the name of his former father-in-law, Jess Kitchens of Gravelly. We decided to reprint the article in its entirety this week. We felt it was important to do so. Although Floyd Cramer became an international known pianist, he and his wife and family still continued to visit Gravelly, own farms there and called Fourche Valley their real home.
Floyd Cramer, 64, a native of Arkansas, one of the most well known pianists in the world, died last Wednesday in Nashville from a bout with cancer, diagnosed six months ago. Cramer's wife, Mary, is a native of Gravelly and still has many friends and relatives in Gravelly and the Fourche Valley area. Cramer recorded more than 50 solo albums and had several top hits in his career. Besides continuing to record, he performed many concerts throughout the country. Special albums recorded by Cramer have recently been featured on CNN Cable TV and other cable channels.
The Cramer's have owned farms in the Gravelly area and continue to own a large farm there. A lifelong neighbor of the Cramer's, Jake Pickens, said Monday he had spoken to Mary twice since Floyd's death. Pickens has helped the Cramer's take care of their farm for many years.
"We felt Mary and Floyd were part of our community, because their roots were deep in Gravelly where they maintained many lifelong friends, Pickens said. Mary Cramer attended school in Gravelly before moving with her late parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Kitchens to Huttig, Ark. where she later met Floyd. Jess Kitchens moved back to Gravelly in the early 1960's. Another lifelong friend, Laura Caviness of Gravelly, said Mary and Floyd visited the Gravelly area several times a year when Mary's parents and grandparents were alive. Mrs. Caviness said "Mary still feels Gravelly is her home. Many of the folks who live here know the entire family from the years they visited here, including their two daughters, Diane Nichols and their two children, Jenny and Jessie, and Donna Coleman and her two children, Jason and Josh. "
Arkansas Native Cramer was born near Shreveport, La. and his family later moved to Huttig, Ark. a sawmill town at that time, located near the Louisiana border, some 30 miles southeast of El Dorado. Mary, who also moved to Huttig, with her family from Gravelly, later met Floyd that ended in a lifelong relationship.
Played Piano For Heartbreak Hotel - Cramer played the piano on Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel" which became to be a best seller that continued to make Elvis one of the most famous singers ever. Cramer had hits, "Late Date" that became an instrumental classic. Also, some of his hits included "San Antonio Rose", "Fancy Pants" and "On the Rebound."
Along with guitarist Chet Atkins, saxophonist Boots Randolph and others, Cramer is credited with helping create "The Nashville Sound" of smooth music, sometimes called "countrypolitan, that helped lure pop audiences to country music in the 1950's and 1960's. Atkins said Cramer added greatly to the Nashville Sound.
As a producer, Atkins had hired Cramer to help record thousands of records for RCA in the 1950's and 1960's. Atkins said, "He was just a wonderfully talented person and you didnt have to struggle to get anything out of him. He was noted for playing a "bent note" or "slip note" style-hitting a note and almost instantly sliding into the next-that influenced a generation of pianists. Graveside services for Horace Palmer Cravens, 78 of Morrilton, who died July 7, 2010, were Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Egypt Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville. He was born January 31, 1932 in Magazine, AR to John P. Cravens and Mary Malinda Martin Cravens. Palmer worked in the Poultry Industry for many years. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Dardanelle. He was a graduate of Magazine High School and attended Arkansas Tech University and Oklahoma State University. He was a disabled Korean Veteran, having been deployed to Japan and Korea with the 217th Medical Collecting Company of Booneville in 1950.
He is preceded in death by his son, Edward Layton; his parents, John P. and Mary Malinda Martin Cravens; two sisters, Dorinda and Jewell Mae Cravens.

Vida L. Cravens, born April 20, 1909 in Havana, AR to Clarence and Willie Gray, passed away, January 15, 2001 in Mesquite, TX. She was a resident most of her first 50 years in Yell County, AR, except for a brief time when she lived in Los Angeles, CA. She worked for Firestone during the war. In 1963 she moved to Texas, residing in Arlington, Dallas and Mesquite. She was a member of the Mesquite Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Orvil Cravens of Havana, AR.
She is survived by, a daughter. and son-in-law, Doris and Sam Irvin or Mesquite, TX; grandson, Brian Irvin of San Francisco, CA; granddaughter, Lorrie Irvin of Mesquite, TX; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Everett Gray of Havana, AR and Lesley Gray of Belleville, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.

B. L. Crawford, Jr., 77, of Plainview, AR, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs, AR. The son of Birtie and Hazel Crawford, he was born February 25, 1934 in Steve, AR. He married Audra Lee Smith on March 18, 1960 at Hollis, AR. He was a Logging Forman with Weyerhaeuser and a member of the Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church in Hollis, AR. He enjoyed his retirement years farming, hunting, fishing and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lindsay Haney; two sisters, Floy Fondren and Juanita Whiley; and nephew, Keith Crawford.

Birtie L. Crawford, age 78, of Hollis died Thursday, May 29, 1986 at St. Vincent Infirmary at Little Rock. He was a retired farmer, son of the late John Burton and Leona Keener Crawford, and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Jones; five sons, B. L. Crawford Jr. Dean Crawford and Bennie Crawford of Hollis, Wade Crawford of Vida, Ore. and Danny Crawford of Jessieville; five daughters, Mrs. Floy Lee Fondren of Hot Springs Village, Mrs. Wanda Dickson of Gravelly, Mrs. Juanita Whiley and Mrs. Brenda Mize of Alexander, and Mrs. Ina Dunn of Little Rock; 24 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Saturday at Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church at Hollis by the Rev. Jimmy Scott and the Rev. Tom Stover. Burial will be in Nooner Cemetery by Humphrey Funeral Service. Charlene M. Crawford, age 71, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, May 15, 2000 at her home in Dardanelle, AR. She was born September 19, 1928 in Kermit, TX to the late Charles Edward and Madge Orene Weems McClure. She was retired sales clerk from Woodson's Department Store in Dardanelle, AR, a member of Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141 Auxiliary in Dardanelle and the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmon Clell Crawford and a grandson, Erik Lee Crawford.

Claud L. Crawford Jr., 85, of Dardanelle went home to be with his Lord on December. 4, 2012. He was born March 3, 1927 in Atkins to Claud Lee Crawford Sr. and Mary Haralson Crawford. Junior was a member of The First Free Will Baptist Church in Dardanelle where he was an ordained deacon for over 40 years. He retired from AP&L after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a veteran of WWII and was a retired member of the Dardanelle City Fire Department. Junior had the heart of a servant. He was happiest when working and doing for others. He was the true patriarch of his family and was loved by many. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids as well as extended family.
Junior is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Edmon Crawford and Donal Crawford.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lola Fink Crawford; two children, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tonnie Crawford and his daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Rodney Mondey; five grandchildren, Kim Olson and her husband Kurt, Lynn Crawford and his wife, Tricia, Dustin Ford and his wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Moore and her husband, Fabian, and Staci Ford; great-grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, A.J., Lauren, Lindsey, Alex, Maddie, Eli, Tarin, Austin, MaryJane, Chase, and Mazee; and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Lancy Allen Crawford, Sr., age 50, of Plainview died Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was born December 31, 1965, to B.L. and Audra Lee Smith Crawford. He was a member of the Plainview Masonic Lodge #641 and a lifetime member of the Plainview VFW Post 8525. He enlisted in the Army in 1984. SSG. Lancy Crawford was a Field Artilleryman who served with Battery C, 1st Battalion, 206th Field Artillery Regiment, 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. SSG. Crawford was a veteran of operation Iraqi Freedom II during which time he deployed with his unit from 2004-2005. SSG. Crawford retired from the Army National Guard in April 2008. He is posthumously awarded the Order of Saint Barbara in recognition of his many years of service to the Field Artillery Community.
He was preceded in death by his father, B.L. Crawford Jr.; sister, Angela Lee Hawkins and a niece, Lindsay Haney.
Survivors include his mother, Audra Lee Smith Crawford of Hollis; sons, Lancy Crawford Jr. of Plainview, Johnathon Crawford of Plainview; his wife Kim Crawford of Plainview and her children, Jake Trotter and wife Rachel of Perryville, Charly Cody and husband Tyler and baby Olivia of Plainview; one brother, Sam Crawford and wife Karen of Tyler, TX; three sisters, Karen Haney and husband Stan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Amanda Boutzale of Hollis, Tammy Grisham of Hollis.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at the Plainview Jesus name Pentecostal Church with Mr. Jimmy Scott and Mr. Frankie McConnell officiating. Burial was in Nooner Cemetery in Hollis. Visitation was held Monday, 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Plainview VFW Building. Pallbearers included Harold Underwood, Billy Lacey, Wayne Paradis, Robert Musgrove, Robert Nichols, Jake Trotter.
