Margaret "Connie" Crawford, age 75, of Danville, passed away May 10, 1997 at Lakewood Plaza Nursing Home in North Little Rock, AR. She was born on June 22, 1921 in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a florist and a member of the Council Oaks Order of the Eastern Star. She lived from coast to coast before her husband retired from the Navy in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Elliot Crawford.
She is survived by four sons, James Crawford of Dardanelle, AR, Matthew Crawford and Charles Crawford both of Toana, Virginia and Wayne Crawford of Danville, AR; three daughters, Edna King of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nancy Crawford of Dededo, Guam and Ann Wirges of North Little Rock; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Waters and Marshall Waters of Norfolk, VA and William Waters of Virginia Beach, VA and one sister, Barbara Garton of Virginia Beach, VA.

Michael Lee "Mike" Crawford, age 58, of Little Rock died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born February 17, 1953 at Niles, Michigan to Lee and Evelean Hightower Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandmother, Lillie Moore.
Survivors include his mother, Evelean Stogdell of Dardanelle; companion of 37 years, Vikki Bartel of Little Rock; son, Michael "Shane" Stunkel of New Mexico; brother, Steve Crawford of London; sisters, Brenda Hightower of Havana, Sheri Fausset of Dardanelle, Alisa Crawford of Dardanelle, Karen Crawford of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Caylea and Kaiden; other children, Britni Patton and Stephen Plunket of Little Rock.

Myrtle Crawford, 97, of Ola, AR, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. The daughter of Robert and Josephine Clara Martin Ballew, she was born December 20, 1913 in Hollis, AR. She was a member of the Valley Home Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting. Myrtle was a homemaker and help mate to her husband of 69 years Henry Crawford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Crawford; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Everett Ballew of Hollis, AR; 3 sisters-in-law, Ruby Nell Sanders of Dardanelle, Laverne Ballew of Perryville, Faye Ballew of New Mexico and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Nancy Crawford, age 71, of Plainview died Wednesday at her home. She was the widow of James Crawford. She was a Baptist.

Mr. Robbie Glen Crawford, age 16, of Plainview, died Wednesday August 24, 1988 at Plainview. He was a native of Hot Springs, a sophomore at Danville High School, a member of the Danville Little Johns Football Team, the Basketball Team, and the Tack Team. He was a member of the Danville Senior Boys State Champion Softball Team, and a member of the Plainview Church of Christ.
Survivors include his parents, Ronny and Sherry Farris Crawford, two brothers, Rickey Crawford and Randy Crawford both of Plainview. His Maternal grandmother, Lorene Farris of Plainview and his paternal, grandparents Tom and Geneva Crawford.

Swimmers collide; 16-year-old drowns (1988) PLAINVIEW - Robbie G. Crawford, age 16, of Plainview drowned around noon Wednesday after diving into Hogan Creek in the Lake Nimrod project area, according to the Yell County sheriffs office. Sgt. James Elmore said Crawford was swinging on a rope, preparing to drop into the creek, when he collided with another swimmer who also was swinging from a rope. Crawford was apparently knocked unconscious. Crawford's body was found at 1:25 p. m. in water about 15 feet deep by Dr. Ray Ferguson, a diver with the mounted patrol. Elmore said several swimmers unsuccessfully attempted to save Crawford. The other swimmer involved in the accident was treated at Westwood Clinic and released. Roy L. Crawford, age 72, of Russellville, AR died Sunday, June 4, 2000 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. A son of the late Rev. Daniel Morton Crawford and Sarah Williams Crawford, he was born January 2, 1928, in Amsterdam, MO. He graduated from high school in Homer City, PA and served in the U. S. Army for two years as a trombonist in the 158th Army Band at Fort Knox, KY. He received a degree in Music Education from the University of Dubuque and taught music in the Iowa public schools before owning and operating a variety store in Clarion, IA for 25 years. He moved to Russellville in 1978 and was the owner of Crawford Insurance Agency in Ola, AR until his retirement in 1992. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and former Grand Master. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Russellville Noon Rotary Club, having received the distinction of Paul Harris Fellow for his work in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Koethe Crawford; one son, Rodney Crawford of Allen, TX; one daughter, Linda Faye Nolan of Russellville, AR; one brother, Harvey Crawford of Amsterdam, MO; two grandchildren, Meridith Leigh and Daniel Lee Craw ford both of Allen, TX. The body was cremated.
Memorial service will be at 2 PM Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. G. Mackey Yokem and Rev. Stanley Crawford officiating. Sheriy Crawford, age 68, of Plainview passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. She was born September 29, 1948, at Russellville to the late Zaral Daniel and Mae Lorene Cunningham Farris. She was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ, worked at Two Rivers School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robbie Glen Crawford; three brothers, Jerry Farris, Larry Farris and an infant brother Carroll Laetho Farris and his adopted brother, Randy Bolton.

Vickie Lynn Crawford, age 51 of Steve and formerly of Natchitoches, LA died Monday, December 21, 2009 at her home. She was born August 8, 1958 in Hot Springs, AR to the late Thomas H. & Geneva Jones Crawford. She was a member of the Steve Church of Christ, she was retired from the Poultry Industry, where she worked for Tyson and Pilgrim's Pride for the last twenty years.

Tommy Crelia, age 60, died Monday, August 19, 2002 in the Heart Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born March 24, 1942 in Saint Joseph, LA to the late Marion & Etta Barnett Crelia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Dean Crelia.
Survivors include a son, John Crelia of Oklahoma; a sister, Margueritte Ann Kirby; one brother, Roy Gene Crelia both of LA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He lived with his aunt, Esther Gentry Keener and worked at Sav-A-Sum for Steve Bewley in Danville in the late 60's and early 70's.

Clay Collin Crews, 57 of Dardanelle, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born December 20, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska to James and Claribel Carlson Crews. He was a line worker for Wayne Farms. Clay was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Crews; and his lifelong companion, Sheryle Schreck.

Jewel Wade Crews, age 75, of Flippin, AR, formerly of Plainview, AR, died January 31, 1997. He was born January 4, 1922 in Kingdom Springs, AR. He was a WWII Veteran and was a retired member of the Flippin Fire Dept, where he served as fire chief for 8 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James.

Billy Eugene Crites, 64 of Dardanelle, AR left us for his eternal home on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his brothers home. He was born in Russellville, Arkansas on November 20, 1947, the son of Eugene Crites and Arlene Lockhorst. At the young age of seven, his family moved to Kansas where he lived for many years. He attended schools in Medicine Lodge and Sharon, Kansas. He was a 1964 graduate of Sharon High School. He later served two years in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Spaeth in 1970. This union was blessed with two children, Karen and Darrin. They later divorced. He was later blessed with another son, Brandon. Bill's greatest interests were hunting, fishing, carpentry work and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Terry. Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Darrin and Brandon Crites of Hutchinson, Kansas; one daughter Karen Crites of Hutchison, Kansas; stepmom Peggy of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; five brothers, Jerry (Paula) of Russell, Kansas, Larry (Betty) of Dardanelle, Rick and Toby both of Attica, Kansas and Lonnie of Sharon, Kansas.
Other survivors include one sister, Gina of Argonia, Kansas; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A private family service will be held.

Clarence Crites, 94, of Russellville, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at Legacy Heights Nursing Center. He was born November 7, 1919, in Plainview, son of the late W.R. and Ida Mae Mullins Crites. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a man of God, and of the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mamie Inez Bryant Crites; and a daughter, Nina Ruth Crites Nelson.
He is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Bunton; 2 granddaughters, Angela and husband Larry Hartwick, and Marcella Faye and husband Douglas Martin; grandson, Michael Bunton; 4 great-grandsons, Brandon Bunton, Eric Huihui, Dustin Martin and Dusty Martin; 4 great-granddaughters, Ruth Ann Blyther, Tesha Omar, Alesha Webb and Carol Sides; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial was at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, at New Bethel Cemetery in Plainview with Bro. Larry Hartwick officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. He was born January 26, 1952 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Hubert "Buddy" & Martha Mae Mitchell Crites. He was a Security Guard at Wayne Farms. Joe Gillum Crites, age 75, of Dardanelle, AR died Tuesday, January 30, 2001. He was born April 18, 1925 in Rover, AR, the son of the late Hershel and Myrtle Short Crites. He was a retired bus driver and custodian for the Dardanelle schools.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnny, Gene and Buddy Crites and two sisters, Docie Crites and Minnie Jones and a granddaughter, Dana Sue Crites.

Crites, WYC Graduate Dies in Accident - Joseph T. Crites (JT.), age 21, of Havana, was killed on Saturday afternoon, April 24m in Russellville in a motorcycle accident. Crites was a 2006 graduate of Western Yell County High School. His mother, Sherry Albright, lives in Waveland and his father, Randy Crites, lives in Plainview.
According to the accident report by Russellville Police Officer Phillip Baker, Crites was northbound on a 2008 Honda CBR Motorcycle on State Hwy. 7/North Arkansas Aye., approaching its intersection with Shiloh Road. According to eye-witnesses, Crites began to lose control on his back wheel when he attempted to land the front tire back on the roadway. The motorcycle left the right side of the road, went into a ditch and became airborne, at which time Crites was thrown off the motorcycle, according to Officer Baker. He then struck the passenger side door of a parked Dodge pickup on North Arkansas Avenue resulting in severe injuries to his head. The motorcycle continued over 500 feet, striking a utility pole, a gas light, and a gas meter. Pope County EMS transported Crites to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Crites was wearing a helmet.

Martha Mae Crites, age 84 of Gilkey Community, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was born May 18, 1924, and was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert (Buddy Crites, two sisters, Nell Chism, and Wilma Inman and her mother, Maud Cole.

A country boy all his life, Pete Crites, age 82, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 and will be committed at a private graveside service near his birth place in Rover, Arkansas today. He was born on April 16, 1922 to Herschel and Myrtle Crites in Yell County.
An unusually quiet and private man, he was nonetheless a devoted and loving human being to his family, friends, pets and surviving spouse, Audrey T. Crites of North Little Rock. He grew up in a large rural family and loved working outdoors, baseball, old cars, flea markets, his small gun collection, Wal-Mart, growing, canning, freezing and cooking his own food, chocolate covered cherries, his gas-powered tiller, animals, especially his dogs and his black cat Tutu. At Christmas he was known for his special fruit-cake and cocoon cookies. In summers he made sure the family was well-stocked with fresh vegetables. Although he would rather have stayed in Yell County, he served with pride and distinction in World War II in the U.S. Army, Company E. 127th Infantry, receiving the Purple Heart when he was wounded at Luzon, Philippines and served the remainder of his tour in the Army of Occupation in Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1949. After the war he worked as a dietetics supervisor in food service at the V.A. Hospital at Fort Roots in North Little Rock until he retired in 1972. His greatest joy was spoiling dogs and children. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Rodney and her spouse Richard of England, Arkansas, one daughter-in-law, Judy Crites of Camden, and six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. He is predeceased by his son Shelby Crites. In mid-life he remarried and gained another family, including two stepdaughters, Gayle Gardner and her spouse Jerry of North Little Rock; Betsy Singleton and her spouse Victor Snyder of Little Rock; and three stepsons, including Jack Singleton and his spouse Carolyn of North Little Rock; Tom Singleton of North Little Rock; and Steve Singleton and his spouse Becky of Mountain Home. The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, February 24 at the Gardners' home at 310 East "A" Avenue in Park Hill from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
