Angel Nicole West, 15, of Havana died Tuesday, March 29, at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She was born July 27, 1995 in Russellville to Karen Mahan Gaston. She was a 10th grade student at Western Yell County School and a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Cecil Adair; step-grandfathers, Dalton Cougan Knight and Bill Gaston; aunt, Shana Nicole Mahan.
Survivors include her parents, Steve and Karen Gaston; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Jessica West; sister, Ariel West; step-sister, Clarista Mawk; nephews, Dustin Lrr West and Braxton Starr West and niece, Kaylee Louise West; grandparents, Wayne and Glenda Mahan, Mary Gaston and Patricia Knight; great-grandmother, Mary Neal Adair; aunts and uncles, Sherry and Greg Bland, Donna and John George, and Charles and Stacy Gaston.

Mrs Armentie Curtis West, age 82, of Havana died Sunday afternoon December 29, 1968, at a Yell County Hospital. Mrs West was a native of Cedar Creek (Yell County) and a daughter of the late Jonce and Hanner McCarroll Curtis. She was a member of the Upper Spring Creek Church.
Survivors her husband M. P. West of Havana; two sons, James West of Havana, and Vestal West of Indiana; two daughters, Mrs Vera Harkey of Belleville, and Mrs Prue Bowie of Missouri, one brother Dee Curtis of Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs Arvella Smith of California and Mrs Ella Rogers of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at the Upper Spring Creek Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Bob Rackley and Rev. Noel Moudy officiating. Interment was at the Upper Spring Creek Cemetery. Pastor Steven Paul Westcott, age 38 of the Nogo Community, Pope County, Arkansas, died Friday, May 5, 2006 at his home in Nogo. He was born on September 25, 1968 in Danville. He was a graduate of Danville High School, received an Associate Bible Degree from Missionary Baptist College in Little rock and was a Navy veteran. He was pastor of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Jerusalem.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Chet Ray and Melvin and Ray Westcott.

David Lynn Westlake, age 51, of Harrisonburg, VA died September 9, 1998 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born November 14, 1946 in Morrilton, AR and was the son of Wayne and Jeanette Hatcher Westlake of Plainview, AR. He was owner and President of Advantage Food Products, Inc. in Petersburg, West Virginia. He graduated from the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church and a member of the National Poultry Federation. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. On June 2, 1972 he married the former Vickie Lynn Spinks.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie; one daughter, Ashley Nicole Westlake of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Kay Everett of Northwest, AR and Debbie Westlake of Plainview, AR; one brother, Gary Westlake of Plainview, AR.

Geneva Westlake, 73, of Plainview, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. The 8th of 12 children, she was the daughter of Jim and Ethel Hill Robinson, she was born May 25, 1937 in Needmore. She was a 1955 graduate of Casa High School. Following high school she moved to Chicago where she was a member of a professional Roller Derby team. She and her soul mate, James Westlake were married on July 3, 1960 at Plainview. Always inseparable, James rode shot- gun and she drove the burgundy Ford Expedition. Geneva kept the books, down to the penny, for the family logging and timber businesses, including Westlake Logging, Northwest Timber Company and Tri-W Equipment Company. There was only one way to do things, the right way which was usually Geneva's way. She was a member of the "Po Boy" Bass Club and enjoyed participating in local tournaments. Geneva also enjoyed hunting and was an excellent shot with her Marlin 30-30. Her children and grandchildren were at the center of her life. Making sure that each one knew they were loved, she attended every basketball game, rodeo and stock car race. Known and loved for her generosity by all, she truly walked on the sunny side of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Leroy Robinson, 3 sisters, Sybil Woods, Doris Prince and Rebecca Sims.
Geneva is survived by her husband and best friend of 50 years, James Westlake of Plainview; 2 sons, James Paul Westlake and wife Barbara of Plainview, Keith Westlake of Plainview; a daughter Rena Smoke and husband Kevin of Russellville; 6 grandchildren, Robin Smith and husband Michael Dean of Plainview, Kerry Frost and husband Billy of Rover, Michelle Rudder and husband Stephen of Rogers, Heather Jones and husband Josh of Centerville, Eden Westlake of Plainview, Michael Sutterfield and wife Lindsey of Russellville; 9 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, O.J. Hubert Wayne Westlake, age 91, of Plainview. He was born on the Fourche Mountain Homestead, Perry County, AR on January 5, 1914 to William David and Frances Ann Elder Westlake. He was a retired electrician, member of the IBEW local 700, Fort Smith, 32 Mason, and member of the Plainview Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Lynn Westlake.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jeanette Hatcher Westlake, a son, Gary Wayne Westlake of Plainview; daughters, Kay Everett and Deborah "D.J." Jim Westlake, 77, of Plainview, AR, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his daughter's home in Russellville. The youngest of 9 children of Curtis and Ruby Bell Westlake, he was born May 8, 1936 in Nimrod, AR. At the age of 12 he moved in with his older sister and her family, the Millers, growing up with their children as his adopted siblings. A self-made man, he was the owner of Westlake Logging Company in Plainview. At 15 he hitched a ride to Northern California with his brother, Bud Westlake to run a bulldozer. Jim moved back to his hometown of Plainview in the 1950's and continued working in road construction. He and Geneva Robinson married in 1960, making their home and raising their three children in Plainview. He and Geneva founded Westlake Construction Company in the 1970's, primarily building roads and dams, including the Lambert Creek Watershed Project near Cherokee, OK. In 1982, son James Westlake joined his father in founding Westlake and Westlake Logging Company. Later Keith Westlake joined the company while Jim continued expanding into timber management, retiring in 2008. He also enjoyed raising Bremer cattle. Jim believed in work and family. During the summers when their children were growing up, Jim and Geneva took James, Keith and Rena' with him on the road, letting them learn the value hard work.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Geneva Fay Robinson Westlake his parents; brother, Bud Westlake; sisters, Pauline Miller, Wilma Perry and Ruth Metcalf.

Lonzada D. Westlake, age 89, of Plainview, died Monday, October 28, 1985 She was a homemaker and the widow of Roger Westlake, a member of the Plainview Assembly of God Church.

Leon Westmoreland, age 85, died in a San Diego hospital on January 25, 1960. He had been in the publishing business for more than half a century and continued active until two weeks before his death. He taught school at Magazine in 1895 and founded the Powder Horn Weekly there in 1900. He became publisher of the Dardanelle Post-Dispatch in 1902, and published papers at Hartford, Greenwood, Booneville and Conway.

Alice Pearl Weve, age 66, of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Arkansas Heart Hospital, Little Rock. She was born November 5, 1940 in Houston, TX, to the late Owen and Iva Mae Harkleroad Tharp. She was a Baptist and widow of James Weve. She was a graduate of Mount Hope Kansas High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Whala; daughters, Barbara Dale Mitchell; Debra Ann Sherrill; Peggy Jeanette Hudson; son, Lester Allen "Sam" Whala; sisters, Imogene Walters; Evelyn Mitchell; and brother, Darrell Billingsley.
