Modine W. Tucker, age 70, a resident of Rover, AR, formerly of Dallas, TX, died Friday, April 11, 1997 at her home. She was born on September 16, 1926 at Comanche, TX to Bud and Lelona Mae Daniels Wallace. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Odene Wallace; two brothers, Wilson McKinney and Cleveland Wallace.

Survivors include husband, H. Riley Tucker of Rover, AR; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Mary Tucker of Rover, AR; three daughters and son-in-law, Wanda and Forrest Tennison of DeSoto, TX, Sandra Cleveland of Lewisville, TX and Barbara Cleveland of Dallas, TX; four brothers, Gene Wallace of Grapevine, TX, Bud Wallace, Jr. of Dallas, TX, R. C. Wallace of Lancaster, TX and Charles Wallace of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was April 14 at the Wildwood Memorial Chapel with burial in the Restland Memorial Park at Dallas, TX. Montra Holmes Tucker, age 88 of Casa, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Perry County Nursing Home. She was born December 11, 1921 at Casa to the late Bruce and Oder Patterson Alexander.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Holmes; son, Freddie Holmes; brothers, Hubert and Herbert Alexander; sisters, Opal George, Thelma Pryer, Lola Holmes, Ruby Rogers, Velma Dunn and Audie Jordan.

Survivors include son, Ralph Rowe and wife, Ann of Casa; daughter-in-law, Pat Holmes of Oppelo; brother, Hershel Alexander and wife, Vera of Casa; grandchildren, Stanley Rowe of Casa, Pattie Robinson and husband, Mike of Ola, Gayla Boxnick and husband, Shawn of London, Charles Holmes and wife, Jessica of Oppelo, Renae Drinkwater and husband, Charles of Perryville; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jim Tucker, age 62, passed away at his home in Aberdeen, Washington, September 16 and was laid to rest September 21. Mr.

Opal Stout Tucker, age 93 of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born December 23, 1905 in Perry County to the late Huse and Mackie Sexton Stout. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Dardanelle, a mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dude and Zora Jane Tucker of Dardanelle and Charlie and Melba Tucker of Houston; two daughters and son-in-law, Pauline Manes and Alyene and Jack Kendrick all of Dardanelle; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Tucker, Pearl Phillips

Pearl Phillips Tucker, age 66, of Dardanelle died Saturday, January 12, 2002 at the Dardanelle Hospital. Mrs. Tucker was born July 27, 1935 in Frost, Texas to the late George Dewey and Ila Estes Blevins Bullock. She retired after 25 years as a health care assistant and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle.

Survivors are a daughter, Debbie Strait of Carrollton, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marcia Phillips of Waverly, Nebraska, Jackie and Karen Phillips of Dardanelle, George and Sharon Phillips of Russellville, Kevin and Debra Phillips of Broadway, Virginia; a sister, June Day of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Bill Bullock of San Antonio, Texas and six grandsons.

Services were Tuesday, January 15, 2002, 10:00 a. m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle with Rev. James Lowe officiating. Interment was Wednesday, January 16, 2002, 2:00 p. m. at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas by Cornwell Funeral Service in Dardanelle. Pallbearers were Brandon Ward, Bryce Phillips, Kyle Phillips, George Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Robert Phillips, Jackie Phillips. Rebecca Jane Tucker, age 79 of Dardanelle, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born August 4, 1930 at Dardanelle to the late Willie Evert "Brownie" and Donie Higgins Wood.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Marc Tucker; two brothers, Ezra and Billy Don Wood.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Tucker and wife, Ola of Las Vegas, NY Randy Tucker and wife, Pam of Atlanta, GA, Don Tucker and wife, Cindy of Conway, Brent Kim Tucker and wife, Molly of Tampa, FL; one brother, Hobart Wood; one sister, Millie Laswell of IN; seven grandchildren; her companion of many years, Bob Pitts; and many other relatives and friends.

Tucker, Roy M.

Roy M. Tucker, 74, of Pottsville, AR, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at his home. The son of George and Orpha Lynch Tucker, he was born April 6, 1931 in Pottsville. He was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville High School. R.M. served in the United States Army and Army Reserves during and following the War in Vietnam. He married Trella Bewley on July 15, 1961 at Atkins. He was a Presidential building contractor and also worked for several years at Morton's Frozen Foods in Russellville. He taught welding at the Russellville High School Vo-Tech in the 1970's. He was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Wing, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, William "Pete", Leon "Bud" and Billy "Ray" Tucker.

He is survived by his wife, Trella Bewley Tucker, Pottsville; two sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Billie -Tucker, Pottsville, Mike & Ana Tucker, Sunnyvale, CA; two daughters & sons-in-law, Kay & Robert McMullen, Centerville, Sherry & Bob Hoyer, Redding, CA; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Pottsville Assembly of God Church. Rev. Dan Osolin will officiate. Burial will be at Pisgah at Pottsville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Tucker, S. C.

Mr. S. C. Tucker, age 78, of Danville, AR died Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born October 4, 1922 in Pottsville, AR to the late Clarence and Effie Williams Tucker. He graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College and did his graduate work at the University of Arkansas. In 1947 he became the principal for the Danville school District and the superintendent in 1953. He retired after 37 years of dedicated service to the Danville schools. He was a charter member of the Danville Lions Club, being a member for over 50 years; he served on the County Library Board, Regional Library Board, District Athletic Association, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. In Arkansas Education, Assn. (AEA), was active in State Principals and president of the Arkansas School Administrators. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher and a past member of the Methodist Church Board.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Lile Baker Tucker; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Eileen Tucker of Atlanta, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Alden and David Spriggs of Allen, TX; five brothers, Milton Tucker of Dover, AR, Kermit Tucker of Decatur, AL, Bill Tucker of Catawba, NC, Bob Tucker of Hartford, KS, Ray Tucker of Danville, AR; eight grandchildren, Lauren and Brian Tucker both of Atlanta, GA, Ann, James, John, Caleb, Katie and Micah Spriggs all of Allen, TX and several cousins and many friends.

Service was March 26, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in Danville, AR with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Interment was in the Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Walter Carl Tucker, 85, of Delaware, AR, died Monday, September 3, 2007, at Lawton, OK.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy M. Tucker of Delaware; a daughter, Letta Ann Tucker of Delaware; two sons, Carlton Tucker of Lawton, OK, and Arlice Roberts of Linton, IN; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother and a sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tuggle, Sophia Jean Johnston

Sophia Jean Johnston Tuggle, age 57, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 in Lawton, OK. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Johnston, born July 9, 1946 in Russellville, AR. She was the first African-American to graduate from Havana High School in Havana, AR. She worked for 21 years for the Social Security Administration in Richmond, CA where she retired. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1990. She was a member of the Light of the World Church of God in Christ Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Tuggle, her father, Eugene Johnston, her step-father, Odell Wise and her brother, Robert Wise.

Survivors include her mother, Ruthia Wise of Havana, AR; two daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Donald Moody of San Leandro, CA and Marvette Wesley of Jonesboro, AR; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lisa Ward of Lawton, OK and Kelvin and Linda Polk of Oswatomie, KS; two sisters, Carolyn Wise of Vallejo, CA and LaRuth Newton of North Little Rock, AR; five brothers, Earl Johnston of Phoenix, AZ, George Johnston of Havana, AR, Ray Johnston of North Little Rock, AR, Leonard Wise of Morrilton, AR and Larry Wise of Little Rock, AR; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces and relatives.

Service was September 20, 2003 at the Harris Chapel CME Church with Rev. George Washington and Rev. Fannie Washington officiating. Burial was in Guinn Cemetery in Havana, AR. Tullous, James Calvin

James Calvin Tullous, age 52, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at his home. He was born January 20, 1954, at El Paso, TX to Robert Jewel and Mildred Louella Derrick Tullous. He was the former owner of All American Roofing Company; was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church at Russellville; and was a United States Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. In his free time, he enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and playing horseshoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Norman and Arthur "Oppie" Tullous.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Marie Tullous of Russellville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe and Heather Tullous of Atkins, Robert Tullous of Atkins, and Jamie Jackson of Russellville; three brothers, Wade Tullous of Dardanelle, Rod Tullous of Russellville, and Clint Tullous of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters, Sharon Smith of Russellville, Robin Small of Appleton, Cheryl Adams of Calico Rock, and Kathy Brewer of Pottsville; and two grandchildren, Katelyn Tullous of Dardanelle and James Tullous of Atkins.

The funeral was held June 3, 2006, at the First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the V. F. W. Rogers-Rye Post 2283, was in the Old Baptist Cemetery at Center Valley under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Louise Pruitt Turnage, 83, of Leesburg, TX died July 24, 2012 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Winnsboro, TX. She was born July 19, 1929 in Danville to Jonathan Washington Pruitt and Lela Womack Pruitt. She was a retired technician with Texas Instruments and she was a member of the Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Otis Pruitt, a sister, Mattie Ziegler and her husband John Turnage.

Survivors are her son, Tommy Turnage of Scroggins, TX; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Gracy of Terrell, TX; grandchild Allison Gracy of Terrell, TX; brothers, Hayden Pruitt of Oklahoma City, OK, Harold Pruitt of Oregon; sisters, Nell Martin of Verden, OK, Mae Frost of Point, TX and Jane Jones of Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnie Butler Turnbow, age 82, of Centerville, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born November 25, 1927, at Russellville to Bill and Bernice Terrill Turnbow.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Lucille Turnbow of Centerville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Suzy Turnbow of Pottsville and Johnie Butler Turnbow, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Centerville; grandchildren, Barry and Kristin Turnbow April and John Girvin Lindsay and Andrew Clark, Chelsey Simpson, twins, Katlyn and Kolyn Turnbow, and Chloe Turnbow; five great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.

Ada Essie Turner, age 88, of Havana, AR, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born August 8, 1917 in Havana to the late Martin and Reola Quesenbury Foster. She was a homemaker and mother, a member of the Havana Presbyterian Church, the Havana EH Club and a former 4-H leader.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Vestal, Hoyt and Oresta Foster two sisters, Zelta Sturdy and Fay Tygart.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence Turner one son, Larry Turner of Lonoke, AR a brother, M.B. Foster of Havana, AR a sister, Helen White of El Dorado, AR five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service was Sunday at the Havana Presbyterian Church with Rev. Phillip Sturdy and Rev. Floyd Sheppard officiating. Interment was in the Havana Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR. Bernice Turner, age 92, of Ola, died Friday at her home. A daughter of the late Emerson Etheridge and Murtle Vail Lockhart Sloan, she was born November 7, 1906 at Wing. She was the widow of Samuel John Turner.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Sammy Charles and Cherry Turner of Ola; a daughter and son in law, Loucinda and Robert Buford of Danville; her loving care-giver, Sandy Burnett; a brother in law, J. R. Turner of Wing; a sister in law, Ola Sloan of Plainview; two grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Scott and Tammy Kay Burford and Victoria Gail and Eric Lee Coffman; two great grandchildren, Aaron Lee and Zachary Charles Coffman.

Graveside services and burial was at 10 a. m. Monday at Turner Memorial Cemetery at Wing with Rev. Royce Savage and Mr. Ernest Bryan officiating. Arrangements were by Shinn Funeral Service. Betty Gay Turner, age 74, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 12, 1932 in Chula, AR to the late Edison and Lillian Kilgore. She attended Arkansas Tech University where she met and married Charles Lindberg Turner. She enjoyed a career in social services.

She is preceded in death by an infant twin sister, Eva Faye Kilgore, a brother Bruce Lynn Kilgore, mother-in-law, Beulah Turner and a brother-in-law, Jim Rohrbach.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Turner; two sisters, Rowena Sue McKay of Lowell, AR and Nidra Ann Rohrbach of Fayetteville, AR; a son Mike Turner; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Steve Korbe and Sandy and Cory Ward; a special niece Michelle Turner; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families and many friends.

Service will be today, Wednesday, June 5, 2007 at 10 a. m. at Central United Methodist Church on Dickson Street. Graveside will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery Arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville, AR. Turner, Buell

Buell Turner, age 88 years old of Wing, AR. died Monday, October 23, 1995 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was the retired Postmaster for the Wing Post Office and retired store keeper, retiring in 1972. He was a native of Wing, Arkansas, and was a son of the late John Raney Turner and the late Effie Pike Woolbright Turner. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Plainview Lodge, and was on the Fourche Valley School Board representing the Wing area for many years, at the end of his term, the school board had no outstanding debts. He attended the Wing Community Church, and was always willing the help people.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Turner; one brother, J. R. Turner of Wing; six nephews and one niece Robert Miles Buford of Fort Smith; Jimmy Buell Buford and Donald Ray Buford, both of Ola; James A. Turner of Guam; John E. Turner of Louisville, Kentucky; Loucinda Buford of Danville; and Sammy C. Turner of Ola.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday, October 26, 1995 at Wing Community Church at Wing, Arkansas. Burial will be at the Turner Memorial Cemetery, Wing, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be his nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Turner.

Edith Turner, 90, of Wing, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her home. She was born October 29, 1923, in Lost Corner, to Herbert Asa and Ethel Eudora (Armistead) Person. Edith was a business woman who owned her own beauty salon for many years. She and her husband, Buell, were very active in the Wing Community Church, where she was the secretary treasurer. She was also an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buell Turner; a brother, Herbert Neal Person; and a beloved sister-in-law, Louise Person.

Survivors include a sister, Hazel Glee Russell; seven nieces and nephews and their spouses, to whom she was a second mother, Annette and Jerry Miley, Mary and Douglas Smith, Sandy and Bob Lay, Buz and Mary Sha Person, Vicki and Joe Souza, Jerry and Tamie Person, and Tammy and James Yandell; other nieces, Dixie, Rita, Kathy and Lois; an adopted granddaughter, Hannah Grace Smith; a grandnephew, C.J. Wiggins, whom she treated as a grandson; and numerous other grandnieces and grandnephews.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Wing Community Church, officiated by the Rev. Dan Oslin and Mr. Douglas Smith, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Burial was in Turner Memorial Cemetery. Grace E. Turner age 84 of Dardanelle, died Tuesday, November 9, 2003 at her home in Dardanelle. She was born July 12, 1919 in Dardanelle to the late J. D. Sr. and Jessie Moore Turner. She retired after twenty-seven years from Tasty-Bird in Dardanelle which is now Tyson. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Dardanelle and was preceded in death by a brother, J. D. Turner, Jr. and a sister, May R. Turner.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Parker of Dardanelle; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Elsie Turner of Russellville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorene and Joe Storment and Margaret and John Ed Vestal all of Dardanelle; granddaughter and husband, Michelle and Jason Rhinehart of Delaware; special niece and husband, Kay and Robert McMullen of Dardanelle and eleven nephews and nieces and a host of cousins and friends.

Services were Thursday, December 11, 2003, Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev, David Jay officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Pallbearers were Mark Roper, Mike Roper, Robert McMuilen, Jason Rhinehart, Kenneth Eubanks, and Chris Mans.
