Townsend, Ethel Garaway

Ethel Garaway Townsend, age 89, of Magazine, AR died Saturday, March 14, 1998 at her home. She was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Townsend; her parents; five brothers; two sisters; and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, James W. Townsend of Elizabethton, TN, William A. Townsend of Belleville, IL and Roger C. Townsend of Norfork, VA; two daughters, Doris McMitt of Keokuk, IA and Barbara "Kathy" Stone of Magazine; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Magazine. Burial was in the Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. A living memorial was established in the city park at Magazine. Townsend, Helen M.

Helen M. Townsend, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007. She was born March 23, 1937, at Kansas City, MO to the late Martin and Willie Davis Crouse. She was a loving wife, mother and a great friend to have.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Don L. Townsend; eight children, five boys and three girls; three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Ila Mae Townsend, age 91, of Gainesville, TX died Saturday, October 18, 1997 at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville, TX. She was born December 10, 1905 in Logan County, AR to the late Jim and Ellen Crawford Weaver and was a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Townsend; two sons, Johnny and Leo Townsend and a grandson, James Townsend.

Survivors include a son, Vernon Townsend of Fort Worth, TX; a daughter, Mary Ellen Raney of Rosston, TX; two sisters, Tava Hall of Danville, AR and Addie Bryant of Lubbock, TX; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Townsend, Vernon D.

Vernon D. Townsend, age 82, a retired U. S. Air Force Staff Sergeant, passed away, Sunday, February 5, 2006 in Fort Worth, TX. He was born September 27, 1923 to Daniel J. and Ila Townsend in Sugar Grove, AR. He served in the U. S. Air Force from February 1947 to January 1968, during WWII and the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for General Dynamics of approximately three years. He was a member of Gospel Temple. He was also a member of the DAV and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Townsend.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ellen and Jim Raney of Era, TX; a sister-in-law, Darla Smith of Fort Worth, TX; a friend, Frances Gay of Fort Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be today, Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Gospel Temple. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or American Legion. Funeral for Mrs. Thelma Stringer Traffenstedt, 72, of Danville, widow of W.J. Traffenstedt, who died Wednesday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Richard Reid of Danville, was in May Cemetery in Huston (Perry County).

Burial was by Reid-Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Mrs. Traffenstedt was a member of the Church of Christ and formerly lived in Huston.

Beulah "Boots" Ricker Tramel, 79, of Russellville, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born February 12, 1937, in Plainview, to William Loye and Faye Evelyn English Ricker. She was a teacher's aide at Plainview-Rover Elementary School for 20 years and a member of Plainview United Methodist Church.

Mr. Delmar Tramel, age 71, of Candler, NC, formerly of Dardanelle, AR, died Thursday, June 11, 1998 at Candler. He was born November 16, 1926 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Robert and Cora Virden Tramel.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Kelly Tramel and a sister, Elizabeth Kennedy and a stepbrother, Kenneth English.

Survivors are two sons, Douglas Keith Tramel of Orange, TX and Christopher Kevin Tramel of Leicester, NC; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Wilson of Candler, NC and Karen Janice Tramel of Plainview, AR; step-father, Odell English of Plainview, AR; two brothers, William Tramel of Rogers, AR and Robert Tramel of Russellville, AR; two sisters, Brenda McCoy of Plainview, AR and Bobbie Ray of Barling, AR; one step-brother, George English of Little Rock; two step-sisters, June Mitchell of Danville and Oleta Baskins of Casa, AR; 13 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Tramel, William "Leo"

William "Leo" Tramel, age 92, of Belleville passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home. Leo was born July 27, 1924 in Belleville to the late Samuel Valentine & Amanda Flossie Carrauthers Tramel. He served his country in 1943 with the US Navy. He was a member of the Belleville Masonic Lodge 394. He worked construction building bridges and dams and later retired as custodian of the Belleville School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Cheryl Denise Tramel.

Survivors include his wife Lavern of 68 years, lovingly known as Grunn; sons & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Marcia Tramel of Belleville; Terry "Ted" Tramel of Belleville; grandchildren, William Todd Tramel; Helen Elizabeth Tramel; Diana Ruth & Barry Brand of Belleville; Teresa Marie Tramel of Dardanelle; great-grandchildren, Emily Jean, Whitley Kay, Lillyann Grace, Josey Lane all of Poteau, OK; Alexa Denise of Belleville; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Tramel and a sister, Elizabeth Kennedy.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Beulah F. Ricker Tramel; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Dianne Tramel of Cabot, William Keith and Tammy Tramel and Robbie Tramel all of Russellville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and John Coppedge of Danville and Dianna and Lloyd Qualls of Russellville; a brother, Robert Tramel of Russellville; and two sisters, Brenda McCoy of Plainview and Bobby Jo Ray of Dardanelle; and nine grandchildren, SSGT Anthony and Patti Qualls, Brad Cosby, Holley and Kayla Coppedge, Shawn and Blake Tramel, Jacob Jamell, Mattison Johnson; three great grandchildren, Shelby, Emily, and Holly Qualls.

Ray "Woody" Trammell, age 65, died Wednesday at Dardanelle Hospital. Born February 9, 1937 in Sardis, MS, he was the son of the late Earl Ray and Pearl Williams Trammell. He was a retired employee of the city of Dardanelle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Helen Trammell.

Survivors include his sons, Mark Trammell of Springdale, Darrell and James Douglas Trammell both of Dardanelle, and Jeffrey Trammell of Russellville; a brother, Earl Trammell of Holly, Michigan; and six grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Anna Traughber; loving wife, Ruby Helen Underwood Traughber; and great-grandson Owen Carter Radcliff.

Bobby Leon Treadwell, age 61, of Plainview, AR died Thursday, August 9, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born June 23, 1940 in Cheotah, OK, son of the late Floyd Talbert and Elsie Mae Hart Treadwell. He had been employed at Deltic Timber in Ola for 26 years. He attended the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church of Plainview.

Ferrel G. Treat, age 80, of Plainview, AR died Friday, March 22, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 23, 1921 in Landis, AR to the late Frank and Attie Lawrence Treat. He retired from Dow Chemical in Russellville and also as a timberman. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8525 in Plainview.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Treat.

Survivors are his wife, Marilyn Stinson Treat; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Geraldine Treat of Cabot, AR and Kevin Treat of Ola, AR; five daughters and sons-in-law, Krista and Jim Sullivan of Manchester, NH, Jeanie and David Kinkade of Waterloo, IA, Betty Kaye and Bill Frost of Rover, AR, Connie and Lee Yates of Onyx, AR and Janet and Steve Yates of Buckner, AR; one brother, Leeman Treat of Marshall, AR; one sister, Mable Clark of Marshall, AR; 17 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren and a loyal sidekick, Lady.

Services were Monday, March 25, 2002 at the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Plainview with Rev. Stacy Lisenbey officiating. Interment was in Salem Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
