Mrs. Maggie Thacker, aged 74, a former resident of Yell County, died in Carlsbad N. Mexico hospital last month. She had been a resident of Carlsbad for the past 35 years.

Thacker, Wallace Griffin

Wallace GriffinThacker Sr., age 80 of Danville died Saturday, July 5 at Mitchells Nursing Home in Danville. He was born November 19, 1933 in Dequincy, Louisiana to the late Delbert Vasco and Gertrude Stanfield Thacker. He retired after 21 years from Wayne Farms, serving as complex manager. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church, Danville Lions Club and Arkansas Poultry Federation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Thacker, son and daughter-in-law, Wallace JR and Kim Thacker of Belleville, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bro. Randy Cunningham of Booneville, three sisters, Edith Hall, Ann McClain and Doris Willoughby all of Alabama, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, July 10, 10:30 AM with Rev. Tom Sullinger and Bro. Randy Cunningham officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Springs Cemetery, Chickalah, Arkansas. Thao Thao, age 55, of Dardanelle, AR died Monday, March 16, 1998 at the Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. He was born August 10, 1942 in Thailand.

He is survived by his wife, Phouay Thao; four sons, Patrick Siribouth of Russellville, Quaysay Siribouth, Sayphath Thao and Noi Thao all of Dardanelle, AR; five brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild.

Tharp, Gerald Wayne

Gerald Wayne Tharp, 83 of Ola, died Wednesday at Yell County Nursing Home in Ola. He was born in Shawnee, OK on November 29, 1922 to Bill and Audie Gay don Tharp. He served proudly with the Merchant Marines before and after WWII, delivering troops and equipment to all fronts.

Survivors include several cousins.

Harold Wayne Tharp, age 79, of Danville passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice Care in Russellville. He was born August 16, 1935 in Ola, Arkansas to the late Alva C. & Inez Mitchell Tharp. He had served in the Army National Guard and he retired after 39 years at Wayne Farms.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mrs. Mattie Tharp, aged 90, a lifelong resident of Arkansas, died at her home in Lone Pine community. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Gayle Sadler Thau, 87 of Toms River died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Arbors Care Center. She was born in Belleville, AR and grew up on Chickalah Mountain and moved to New Jersey in 1945. She worked at General Motors Co. at Harrison for 40 years as a registered nurse, including occupational health nursing and fraud investigator, Workers Compensation office of the US Postal Service, retiring in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thau; her parents, Clyde and Ida Sadler; two brothers, Sylvan O. Sadler and Kenneth Sadler and a sister-in-law, Agnes Sadler.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Ann and Luis Rovira of Denver, CO and Leslie Sandra and Roger Cockerline of Guelph, Ontario, Canada; a granddaughter, a great-grandson and a sister-in-law, Juanita Sadler of Ennis, TX.

Thaxton, Annie Elizabeth (Cox) (Mrs.)

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Thaxton, age 96, of the Ard community dies at her home May 7. She was the daughter of the late R.R. and Jennie Matchett Cox and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are three sons, Bob Thaxton, Frank Thaxton and Earnest Thaxton, all of near Dardanelle; one daughter, Mrs. Quinton Gray of near Dardanelle; 12 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Cornwell Funeral chapel in Dardanelle Sunday with Rev. Jim Brooks, pastor of the Pisgah Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Thaxton, Frank L.

Frank L. Thaxton, 88, of Dardanelle died Thursday, March 11, 1999 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1910, in the Ard Community of Yell County to the late Lullaby Seymour and Elizabeth Cox Thaxton. He was a World War II Army veteran, graduate of Arkansas Tech University and of the University of Arkansas with a degree in school administration, a retired principal of Ola High School, retired science teacher at the Dardanelle High School and a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Pisgah Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Farrington Thaxton.

Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Paul and Leora Thaxton of the Ard Community; three daughters and sons-in-law Betty and Cecil Shull of Glenwood, Patricia and Bobby Brooks of Selmer, TN and Marlene and James Vandiver of Little Rock; 12 grand children and several great-grandchildren.

Services were at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle on Saturday. Interment was at the Ard Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J. J. Thaxton, Johnny Paul

Johnny Paul Thaxton, age 66, of Dardanelle, died Monday August 29, 2005 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born March 15, 1939 at Russellville, Arkansas to Frank Lullaby Thaxton and Ellen Louise Stoddard Thaxton. He retired as the Assistant Superintendent for the Russellville School District after being involved in the field of education for 44 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Thaxton stepmother Marion Pearl Farrington Thaxton and father-in-law J.D. Miller Jr. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a B.A. Degree in 1961, the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a M.A. Degree in 1968, and an Ed.S. Degree in 1974. He began his career in education as a mathematics teacher at the Dardanelle High School (1961-1965), mathematics teacher at Gardner Junior High School (1965-1969), Assistant Principal at Gardner Junior High School (1969-1972), Principal at the Russellville Middle School (1972-1990), and as the Assistant Superintendent for the Russellville Public Schools (1990-2004). He was a member of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators where he served as president (2001-2002), the Southeastern Regional Association of School Business Officials where he served as president (20012002), Association of School Business Officials International, Arkansas Association of School Plan Management Association where he served as president (1997-1998), Arkansas Association of School Business Officials where he served as president (1995-1996), Arkansas Middle School Association where he served as president (1977), Phi Delta Kappa District III Representative and member of the International Board of Directors (1993-1997). He was also recognized with prestigious awards Eagle Institute, Washington, D.C., National Eagle Award 2002, Arkansas School Business Officials Administrator of the Year 1997, Arkansas Leadership Academy Distinguished Leadership Award 1997, National Association of Secondary Administration Outstanding Secondary Educators of America 1975, Russellville Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator 1967. There were also many community and civic organizations that Mr. Thaxton was involved in, such as River Valley United Way where he served as president, Russellville Chamber of Commerce, Light Up Russellville Campaign Committee 2000, Technology Committee 1999, Russellville Kiwanis Club serving as president 1998-1999, Arkansas Tech University Alumni Association Board of Directors, Yell County 4-H Board of Directors and Budget Chairperson, Ard Community Association Treasurer, and the Ard Church of Christ as Minister and Elder.

Survivors include his wife Leora Miller Thaxton of Dardanelles three sons, John Franklin Thaxton of Greenwood, Ernest Jay Thaxton of Dardanelle, and Darin Paul Thaxton of Dardanelle two daughters, Teresa Ellen Moore of Lebanon, MO, and Andrea Lea Kaffenberger of Dardanelle. His mother Ellen Louise Stoddard Kupfer and stepfather Robert "Bob" Kupfer of Las Vegas, NV three sisters, Betty Shull of Glenwood, Patricia Brooks of Selmer, TN, and Marlene "Molly" Vandiver of Little Rock mother-in-law Lorene Miller of Dardanelle, and thirteen grandchildren. Modean Thaxton age 83 of Dardanelle died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born December 27, 1922 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Grady and Ruel Pennington Croy. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Gum Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elton E. Thaxton and two brothers, Glen Croy and Linzy Croy.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Larry Musko of Dardanelle; grandchildren and spouses, David and Cheryl Scott and Teresa and Donnie Martin all of Russellville, Tamra and Ed Henson of Dardanelle and twelve great-grandchildren.

Mr. Elton E. Thaxton, age 82, of Dardanelle, AR died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at his home in Dardanelle. He was born November 24, 1914 in Dardanelle to the late Jonathan and Stella Earls Thaxton. He was raised in the Gum Springs Community, Yell County, Arkansas, was a member of the Faith Church in Dardanelle and retired after 29 years as a salesman with Interstate Life Insurance Company. He was Outstanding Salesman for 5 years and Salesman of the Year for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Robert.

Survivors include wife, Modean Croy Thaxton; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Larry Musko of Dardanelle; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Phillip Sean Thieme, age 28, died August 4, 2011. Phillip made his entrance into the world on November 12, 1982, in Fort Worth, Texas. From Texas, he lived in many different states and overseas, graduating high school from Havana, Arkansas. Phillip served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Global War on Terrorism. He recently attended Northeast Texas Community College and was placed on the Dean's list for scholastic achievement. Mr.

Thieme is survived by his parents, Peter and Rebecca Thieme; a sister, Shannon Thieme of New Jersey; a brother, Jonathan Thieme of Houston. He was the nephew of Brigitte McGugan and the late Cecil McGugan of Havana, Arkansas.

Alice Ruth Thomas, age 93, of Danville, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Born May 23, 1916, in Danville, AR, daughter of the late Thomas Lovick and Lillie Craig McCarrell Pound, she was a homemaker and a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olen Thomas; daughter, Karen Thomas; three brothers, Woodrow, Carroll, and Dick Pound; two sisters, Maurine and Nellie Pound.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janna and James Scheible of Dover; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Leslie Thomas of Fayetteville; a sister, Mary Jean Murphy of Haltom City, TX; two grandchildren, Paul Scheible of Trinity, TX and Laura Scheible of Dover.

Basil Clayton Thomas, age 65, a resident of Russellville, AR died Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Washington Regional Hospital at Fayetteville, AR. He was born April 4, 1935 at Arkadelphia, AR to Powell Clayton and Ivie Louise Wright Thomas. He married Marlene Swopes on June 4, 1954 at Morrilton, AR. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Army National Guard at Dardanelle. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church at Russellville, AR and had formerly pastored Unity Baptist Church at Chickalah, New Bethel Baptist Church at Ola and Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church at Danville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Powell Clayton Thomas; one brother, Carl Leonard Thomas and one niece.
