Carl Edsel Riley, 52, of Rolla MO passed away December 15, 1993 at Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born in Plainview, AR, the son of Audie Riley and Irene Honnicutt Schmitt. He was a retired worker at the U.S. Geological Survey and had provided many hours as a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Phelps County Regional Medical Center Auxiliary board. He was working the Federal Emergency Management Administration's flood relief in Popular Bluff at the time of his death. He was a member of the Community Christian Church of Rolla. Survivors: are his wife, Jane of Rolla; parents, Audie Riley and Irene Schmitt of Rover, AR; two sons, William Duiane Riley of Anchorage, Ala. and John David Riley of Bowling, Ky.; three brothers, Rudy Riley of Russellville, AR, Raydale Riley of Hot Springs, AR and Albert Riley of Cabot, AR; two half brothers, Brian Riley of Wicks, AR and Bruce Riley of North Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Wilma Jean Stone of Nopesville, VA and Patricia Howard of Plainview, AR and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 20, 1993 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO. Burial was in the St. James Cemetery. Doris May Riley, 69 of Russellville, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Legacy Heights Nursing & Rehab Center in Russellville. She was born October 1, 1944 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Clyde Willard and Margaret Elizabeth (McGuire) Shorter. She was a retired supervisor for CM Vending and a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois Criswell and Shirley Walton.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Dale and Jana Riley of Kingston, Max Allen Riley of Russellville; daughter, Nicki Riley-Antrim of Dardanelle; two brothers and sisters-in-law,, Clyde and Edna Shorter of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Johnny Ray and Susan Shorter of Windsor, Virginia; six grandchildren, Leighann Morrison, Keshia Philpott, Morgan Riley, Aubrey Antrim, Toney Antrim, and Dalton Antrim, and four great-grandchildren; father of her children, Rudy Max Riley of Russellville.

Born July 18, 1917, in Gatesville, TX, she was the daughter of the late Harry Lee and Sara Ethel Thompson Pierce. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and retired at the age of 76 as a certified nurse's aide. She has been employed at the Yell County Nursing Home, as well as Mitchell's Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Knight; five sisters, Ada Pierce, Jewel Hill, Gertrude Pierce, Norma Lhurs, Rocksie Pierce; three brothers, Dick, Claud, and Sam Pierce.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Tommy Knight of Plainview; sons and daughter-in-law, Wendell Riley of Alabama, Garry and Vickie Riley of Conway; sisters, Reba Bice of Conway and Donna Pierce of Alabama; 6 grandchildren and 1 step-granddaughter; five great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

James C. Riley, age 84, of Ola died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. He was born October 9, 1918 in Perryton, Texas to the late Hugh Gow and Willa Lee Hampton Riley. Mr. Riley was a World War II and Korean War Air Force Veteran. He received a Purple Heart during World War II. He had been a mechanic for United Airlines and was a member of the Ola First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rheba B. Riley; a son, Robin Riley and two brothers, Robert Riley and George Riley.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Riley of San Jose, California, Richard and Elizabeth Riley of San Mateo, California; daughter and son-in-law, Jimmie Gayle and Tom Palya of Truckee, California; a brother, Gordon Riley of Tennessee; two sisters, Minnie Hastings of California and Ann Harvey of Texas; 6 grandchildren and many other relatives.

Jeffie Colombus Riley, age 59 of Rt. 1, Ola, died Wednesday, September 25th at his home. He was a Forestor Technician; a native of Cedar Glades Community (Garland County) the son of Minnie Henry Riley of Ola and the late William Riley. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Ray was born in Danville, AR on March 6, 1949 and passed away on April 25, 2016. Ray graduated from Plainview, AR. He was married to Sheri L. Riley for 13 years. Ray had a career in consulting and designing for saw mill equipment throughout the U.S. for 43 years. He was a member of the Real Estate Association and Asbury United Methodist Church. He had a passion for the game of golf, pool and target shooting. He enjoyed hunting and dancing but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, Audie Riley; mother, Nancy Irene Schmidt; step- father, Carl Schmidt; and oldest brother, Carl Edsel Riley.

Bonnie Brown Ring was born in Sparkman, Arkansas on July 31, 1938, to Floyd Iron Brown and Birdie Lee Tuberville Brown. She left this world on July 16, 2016. Bonnie grew up in and around Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated High School from Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1955, where she was a Band Maid Beauty, president of the Arts Club and was involved in many high school activities and sang in the Acapella Choir. She met husband Gene, (known as "Brownie" by his friends, from a nickname his father had given to him when he was a small child, and had brown eyes, although his brothers had blue), on July 3, 1959 on a blind date. They were married the following February 11, 1960. She and her husband, Dr. Gene Ring, moved to Dardanelle after his internship at the Arkansas Baptist Hospital in 1962. They had planned to move to either Hot Springs or Eureka Springs, but after they visited with Dr. Ring's longtime friend from Morrilton, Wylie Jones, who lived here and taught school and worked in the poultry industry, he decided Dardanelle would be a good place to practice medicine. They brought with them their small daughter, Kelly, who was born in Little Rock and they lived in a small house behind the clinic on Hwy 7. Before long they had another daughter, Robin. Their children and grandchildren are as follows: Kelly Lee Ring Bulleit of Tampa, Florida and her husband Ed Bulleit and children, Clark, Raleigh and Kendall. Clark is 19 and a student at Duke University in North Carolina. Kendall is 17 and Raleigh is 14 and they attend high school in Tampa. Kelly is a TV News Anchor at WTVT in Tampa. Her husband Ed, is an Investment Banker. Robin, the youngest, lives in Little Rock and is married to Dr. Rob O'Neal Shaver. Rob is a pathologist at Baptist Medical Center and their children are, Skylar Ring Shaver, a graduate of Astro Physics from University of Colorado, and Robert Stone, age 16, a student at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock. Robin is a Photographers Model in Little Rock. Bonnie soon became involved in local affairs of the city. She was a Brownie Scout Leader, although she admits she wasn't very good, but her students seemed to enjoy it. Some of the other originizations Bonnie volunteered with in her early years were: Yell County Library Board, Farmer's Home Administration of Yell County, a Lay Therapist for the Rape Crisis Committee and a Lay Therapist for SCAN and a board member for PRIDE2. PRIDE2 built the new gazebo in the downtown park. In later years, Bonnie was involved with the Arkansas River Valley Arts Center, located in Russellville, where she served as the very first Vice President. In 1976 she served as An Alternate Delegate for Ronald Reagan, and served as a Delegate for state Constitutional Convention in 1980. She served as Chairman of the Voters Committee for the new constitution, and was a charter member when living in Pulaski County of the Young Republicans Club. For 13 years, she served on the board of the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame in Pine Bluff. She was appointed by Gov. Bill Clinton, and often voiced her problems about the center to him. The center is now a great pride for the State, located in Pine Bluff. She and her brother, Jim Ed Brown, and her sister Maxine Brown, were inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame in 1998. Her name is on the Walk Of Fame in Hot Springs for Outstanding Arkansans, and she was honored by the Arkansas Senate as Outstanding Citizens in 2007. She was inducted, along with her brother and sister, into the American Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006, as Outstanding Vocal Group of the Decade. Most important of all, the Browns were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame at a news conference in Nashville, March 2015. They were formally inducted October 25, 2015, at the Madillion Ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee. Her brother Jim Ed, who passed away in June of 2015 from lung cancer, was presented his award in his hospital room days before his death, but Maxine and Bonnie received their award at the ceremony. This is the highest honor paid to those in the Country Music Field. Their bronze plaques will hang in the rotunda at the Museum forever! The Browns, (Jim Ed, Maxine and Bonnie) recorded as The Browns for RCA Victor for 13 years, and their many records included so many million sellers. They included "The Three Bells", "The Old Lamplighter" and "Scarlet Ribbons." From 1955 until 1967 they recorded more than 250 songs. Bonnie decided to retire from the music business in 1967 to spend more time with her young daughters, Kelly and Robin, and her husband, Dr. Ring. Jim Ed and Maxine carried on for a while. Maxine finally decided to retire also a few months later. Jim Ed carried on and helped to keep the name of the Browns and their recordings alive. Maxine and Bonnie would get together often and make a trip to Nashville to do guest appearances with their brother on the Grand Ole Opry, a show they joined officially in 1963, but they were always afraid the audience had forgotten them. Yet they were always met with encores, and standing ovations. The audience didn't forget them after all.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Kelly Lee Ring Bulleit and her husband Ed Bulleit of Tampa, Florida. Her youngest daughter Robin Rachelle Ring Shaver and her husband, Dr. Rob Shaver. Bonnie's grandchildren include Kelly's three children, Clark Harrison Bulleit, Raleigh Edwin Bulleit and Kendall Victoria Bulleit. Robin's Children are Skylar Ring Shaver and Robert Stone Shaver. Also her older sister Maxine Brown Russell of Little Rock, Arkansas and her sister-in-law, Becky Sue Brown of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by many well loved nieces and nephews and friends all over the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Gene Ring; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Iron Brown of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; her brother, 6 years old, Raymon; younger sister, Norma Drewsella Sullivan of Little Rock and her older brother Jim Ed Brown of Nashville, Tennessee.
The memorial service was held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church with Pastors Kelly Pearson and Paul Seay officiating. Gene Dale Ring, better known to many as "Brownie" passed peacefully while in his favorite chair in his home on January 16. He was born on July 16, 1932, at Cleveland, Arkansas, (Conway County). He is the son of the late Ed R. Ring, and the late Vesta Clark Ring of Morrilton. Dr. Ring practiced medicine in Dardanelle, AR for 38 years where he co-owned the Dardanelle Family Practice Clinic on Hwy 22 until his retirement in 2000. Dr.
Ring was preceded in death by his brother Loren Woody Ring and his wife Ada, of Center Ridge, and his sister Captola Haney and her husband Bob Haney of Atkins.
He is survived by his brother, Ralph Clark Ring and his wife, Sadie of Cleveland. Dr. Ring and his wife of 56 years, Bonnie, have two daughters, Kelly and Robin. Kelly Lee, the oldest lives in Tampa, Florida along with her husband Ed Bulleit and their three children, Clark, Kendall, and Raleigh. Their younger daughter, Robin Rachell lives in Little Rock along with her husband, Dr. Rob Shaver and their two children, Skylar Ring, and Robert Stone. After graduating from Morrilton High School in 1950, Gene ("Brownie") joined the US Navy. He served as a medical corpsman during the Korean War, and then was transferred to the Marine Corp. Afterwards, he returned to Arkansas and enrolled at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, majoring in PreMed. After three years, he was admitted to the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock. After graduating from UAMS in 1961, he was chosen to intern at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. In I960, while a junior in Medical School in Little Rock, he married Bonnie Brown of Pine Bluff, and they moved to Dardanelle in 1962. After finishing his internship at Arkansas Baptist Hospital, he and his wife Bonnie started looking for places to hang his shingle, and they made a side trip to Dardanelle to visit his old friends, Wylie and Betty Jones. While in Dardanelle, he learned the town's two doctors were preparing to retire. Since he wanted to locate close to his family in Morrilton, and in a small town, he chose to make their home in Dardanelle. During the years he lived in Dardanelle, he was instrumental in many projects for the growing town. In 1964 he helped to secure a new hospital. The town voted for the new hospital by a margin of 5-1, and Dr. Ring personally called each patient to ask for their support and vote. Before Dardanelle had a hospital, his patients were placed in St. Mary's Hospital in RusselIville. During the earlier days of the new hospital, Dr. Ring delivered over 2,000 babies, and he would never rest from the time labor started until the baby was born. Like many other family practitioners in the state, he decided to give up the practice of delivering babies, when the demands of the clinic were growing and his time was needed more there. Dr. Ring's hobbies included raising thoroughbred horses that he raced at Oaklawn and Chicago; Longhorn cattle; Bantam chickens, and Fainting goats. He always liked animals that are on the extinct or nearly extinct list. He also raised all kinds of critters at his home on Mt. Nebo Road including peacocks, guineas, mules, rabbits, turkeys, geese, and ducks. If it was interesting to watch or listen to, he wanted them on his farm. He also liked antique cars and usually had one at home to drive until he found a mouse in one of them. Since the only thing he despised was mice, he decided to get rid of the old cars. After retiring from his medical practice, Dr. Ring enjoyed playing golf with his "Over the Hill" gang. He also enjoyed traveling to many parts of the country with his wife, Bonnie. Another special interest was landscaping around home and making it a colorful place each spring. He planted over 3000 daffodils on the hillside so that all who pass by on the road could enjoy the color for years to come. He was active in the First Presbyterian Church for 54 years. Dr. Ring also served as the Chief of Staff, President of the Yell County Medical Society, and Medical Director for the Dardanelle Nursing Center. Robert Eugene Ringer, 27, of Dardanelle was killed Friday when a car that he had jacked up fell on him. Authorities said Ringer left the house and told members of his family that he was going to jack up the car to drain the radiator. When he did not return, they went to look for him and found him under the car.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patsy Crider Ringer; a son, Ricky Lynn Ringer of Dardanelle; his father, George Ringer of California; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Butler of Dardanelle; three brothers, George, Melvin and Howard Ringer of Kansas City; and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Earnest of Jacksonville and Mrs. Helen McConnell of Dardanelle. Anthony Joseph Rinie, age 85 of Belleville, died Sunday, August 25, 2002 at Holland West Nursing Home in Springdale. Mr. Rinie was born February 24, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph Anthony and Ottilia Winkler Rinie. He was a retired dairy farmer, having farmed in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas for many years. In 1950 he moved to Arkansas and continued his dairy farming. He was a member of the Texas Guard and an avid hunter and fisherman. After retirement he and his late wife traveled extensively.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Floral Rinie; a son, Billy Joe Rinie, and a brother, Joseph Anthony Rinie.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Regina Rinie of Western Grove, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Martin of Springdale, Arkansas; a sister, Loretta Meiners of Texas; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Floral L. Rinie, age 80, of Belleville, AR died Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born July 26, 1920 in Howe, OK to the late Dewey and Cenith Fesperman Gray. She was a retired homemaker and dairy farmer, a 50 year member of the EH Club and a member of the Belleville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Rinie; a brother and a sister.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Antony J. Rinie; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Regina Rinie of Western Grove, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jerry Martin of Springdale, AR; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Joseph Rinie, age 79, died at San Antonio, Tex. May 13. He was a resident of Belleville and a retired machinist and farmer.
He is survived by one son, Anthony Rinie of Belleville; one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Meiners of San Antonio; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Edwin G. Rink, age 71, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, March 20, 1998 at his home. He was born April 7, 1926 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Natalie Rink. He was a farmer and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Russellville.
Survivors include two brothers, Albert Rink of Lady Lake, FL and Hugo Rink of Russellville, AR; one sister, Erna Halweg of Russellville, AR; two nephews and four nieces and a host of friends.

Cleveland Lee Rippeto, aged 78, of Belleville, a retired millwright, died at the Yell County Hospital on May 9th. He was a native of Hot Springs and had lived in Yell County for the past 22 years.

Joe Richard Risener, 83, of Park Hills, Mo. died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at his home. He was born February 23, 1925, in Yell County to Porter and Lula Hood Risener and was a Church of Christ minister for more than 60 years.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Risener; two sons, Alan Risener of Macon, Ga. and Matthew Risener of Paragould; a daughter, Juli Morgan of Paragould; a stepdaughter, Sandra Cunningham of Festus, Mo. five granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; four great granddaughters; six step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Sample of Nimmons and Jean Larsen of Piggott; and two brothers, Clifford and Warren Risener of Piggott.

John E. Ritchie, age 76 of Ola, AR, died Saturday, April 8, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1923, at Montgomery County, he was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a Master Mason member of Lodge 123 in Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Shelton.
Survivors include, his wife, Mary Etta Guest Ritchie of Ola, AR; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill J. and Helen Ritchie of Ola, AR; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Regina and Hugh Ed Walker of Texarkana, TX, Nancy and Jerry Rhoades of Gravelly, AR, Peggy Fain of Little Rock, AR and Polly and Bobby Banks of Hot Springs, AR; a sister, Josie Howerton of Hot Springs, AR; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
