Mrs. Minnie Lou Tishie Pledger, age 94, of Havana, died Friday, November 10, 1995 at the Inola Home Care in Inola, OK. She was born in Sugar Grove, AR February 15, 1901 daughter of the late Henry and Florene Alice French Vessel. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of the Havana Assembly of God Church. She was the widow of Jesse Pledger.
Survivors include: four daughters, Marie Moudy of Havana, Margie Moore of Claremoore, OK, Florence Davis of Ft. Smith and Joyce Sebastian of Claremore, OK; one brother, Odie Vessel, Muldrow, OK; four sisters, Stella Bagley, Muldrow, OK, Lucy Hice, TX, Lorene Hefton, Tulsa, Ok and Naomi Burnett, CA; 10 grand-children, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were November 13 at the Havana Assembly of God with Rev. E.O. Tackett officiating. Burial was in the Havana Cemetery. Grandson served as pallbearers. Opal Ray Pledger, 99, of Morganton, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care in Valdese, North Carolina. He was born January 10, 1912, in Logan County, Arkansas, to William Asa and Susie Wilkins Pledger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ercie Marie Gray Pledger, a son, Willie Ray "Bill" Pledger, and a grandson, Mark William Pledger.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Caroll Pledger; a granddaughter, Susan Janean Dupuis; four great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Havana Assembly of God, officiated by the Rev. Bob Caldwell. Patricia A. Nelson Pledger, age 79 of Danville, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at her home in Danville. She was born February 22, 1929 in Yale, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Joe M. Sr. and Dora Wolf Nelson. She was a Public Health Clinic Aide, a library assistant at the Yell County Library in Danville and a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold Odell Pledger, Sr. and granddaughter, Savannah Pledger.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Pledger Jr. and wife Becky of Danville and Craig Pledger and wife Debbie of Bella Vista; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Pledger Millsap and husband Rick of Danville; brother, Joseph M. Nelson Jr. Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sisters, Joan Campbell of Park City, Utah and Juanita Holt of Owasso, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Alicia and Daniel Uptagrafft of East End, Matthew and Susan Millsap of Ft. DANVILLE - Paul Austin Pledger Jr., age 60, of Danville died Sunday, December 4, 1983 at St. Vincent's Hospital at Little Rock. He was city recorder for Danville, a native of Belleville, son of the late Paul and Laymon Millard Pledger, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Mosley Pledger; two daughters, Mrs. Candis Holstein of Waldron and Miss Lisa Pledger of the home; a brother, Harold Pledger of Danville, and several nephews and nieces.

Ruby Nell Pledger, age 81, of Ola, AR died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born November 10, 1923 in Waltreak, AR to the late Oscar and Mary Martin Wigley. She was the owner of Nell's Beauty Shop in Mablevale for eighteen years and was a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Artemes Pledger; a son, Hoyt Pledger; five brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Abernathy of Ola, AR; a son, Gerald Pledger of Ola, AR; brother, Buddy Wigley of Ola; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt Pledger, age 91 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma died Sunday April 18, 2004. He was born in the Corinth community near Belleville, on January 27, 1913 to the late Thomas Wesley and Mabel P. Sadler Pledger. He was a retired oil field superintendent for Sun Oil Company. He was 32nd Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Anna Belle Taylor Pledger and Gladys Vaughn Alders Pledger.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Teddy and Elaine Pledger of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.; two grandsons, Ted W. Pledger of Broken Arrow, OK, and Daryl M. Pledger of Jackson, TN.; four great-grandchildren.

Aminda Sue Mason Plenge, age 61, of Plainview died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her home. She was born December 22, 1953 in Little Rock to George W. Mason Sr. and Martha Ann Glover. She was a United States Army Veteran and a special education teacher for 22 years with the Pulaski County School District where she won teacher of the year her first year. She was a foster parent and loved each child she took in.
She was preceded in death by her father, George W. Mason Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Stan Plenge of Plainview; three children, Jon Crotchett of Cabot, April Masterson of Wisconsin, Teresa Morshedi of Bryant; a niece, Brookelynn Mason of Cabot, along with many others she welcomed into her home; one sister, Victoria Mason of Cabot; two brothers, Walt Mason Jr of Cabot, Ronald Mason of Cabot; and six grandchildren.

Ladonna Plumb, age 60, of Dardanelle died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at her home. A daughter of the late Lee Adrian and Ilena Davis Waid, she was born October 8, 1947, at Paris Park, AR. She was a former grocery deli worker.
Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gary Lee and Sharon Waid of Dardanelle, Kevin Dean and Michelle Waid of Dover and Derek Gene Waid of Dardanelle; two nephews and a great-niece.

Bobby Joe Pockrus, age 80, of Dardanelle died Monday, November 25, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. He was born October 23, 2013 in Dardanelle to the late Herman Lawrence and Mildred Irene Geurian Pockrus. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a carpenter. Bob loved driving to places that he thought were special and would walk around for hours.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rebecca Sue Armstrong.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Pockrus and Dale Pockrus both of Dardanelle; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

1931 ~ 2012 Marion "Tex" Udell Pockrus, born in Lawton, Oklahoma, October 25, 1931, peacefully left his earthly home on October 5, 2012. He was greeted on the other side by his father James Osceola Pockrus, his mother Marietta Rule, his son, Barry A. Pockrus, and eight brothers and sisters.
Survived by his wife of 58 years Helene (vonMetnitz), sons Carl (Phyllis), Randall (Diane), daughter Lauretta (Lee Erwin), his sister Geraldine Ramona Donaldson, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended schools in Oklahoma, Mississippi, Texas and colleges in Santa Rosa and Marin County, CA. Lived in Montana, California and Utah. Highland, Utah was home for the last 16 years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Tex was employed by Western Union and ran his own business in San Francisco. Tex loved his country and his volunteer work with Disabled American Veterans of Utah as Chapter 6 Commander, State Commander and DAV Honor Guard. He served as an LDS Missionary and consultant at BYU Harold B. Lee Library for 12 years and worked at VA Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland 10th Ward, 10962 N. 6400 W, Highland, Utah. Mildred L. Pockrus, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, June 24, 2005 at the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born March 20, 1920 in Dardanelle, AR to the late Harry Lee and Sarah J. "Sally" Harmon Jones. She was a retired nurse's aide, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Pockrus and four brothers, Raymond, Odell, Vernon and Aubrey Jones.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Pockrus of Delaware, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Terry Herrin of Kevil, KY; a sister, Modean Phillips of Arizona; a granddaughter, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Harley A. Poda, age 74, of San Francisco, Calif. died January 27, in San Francisco. Mr. Poda was a native of Bluffton, the son of the late Andrew and Mattie Taylor Poda.
Survivors, other than his wife, Evelyn Poda, are one daughter, Francis of Nevada; one brother, Tom Poda of Hot Springs; two sisters, Lessie Rhoades of Danville and Lillian Jones of Forrestville, Calif.

Fort Smith man Drowns at Nimrod....Ernest R. Pogue, about 70, retired Fort Smith railroad man, drowned Tuesday afternoon about 2:30 when his boat turned over in swift water just below the Lake Nimrod dam. His companion, Walter Bell, also of Fort Smith, became entangled in a trot-line and was rescued, suffering only cuts and scratches from hooks on the line. The two were said to have been trying to row against the current and were losing ground, when one of them grabbed a bush sticking out of the water and the boat turned over. After an all-night search by volunteers, the body was discovered about 9:45 Wednesday morning by John Hancock and Van Leabo of Danville, in about six feet of water approximately 100 feet below where the boat overturned. Eva Mae Poindexter was called home to our heavenly Father on December 29, 2006. Born in Bluffton, Arkansas on February 1, 1917, she lived a long and blessed life. She was the second of seven children, and after losing her mother at the young age of seven, she helped raise her four younger siblings. She met Lyle Poindexter at school in Young Gravelly, Arkansas and married him in 1934. They moved to Oklahoma and poured their lives into serving the Lord and raising four children, Dennis Poindexter, Joe Poindexter, Hayes Poindexter, and Pauletta Butler.
Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband Lyle Poindexter, both her parents, Warren Lofland and Eva Lofland, and her six siblings.
She is survived by all four of her children, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Eva was a fit, strong, Godly woman who remained faithful and obedient to her call on this earth to nurture and love all those that she came in contact with, so they could see Jesus through her. Eva did not fear death. 2Corinthians 5:1 'We know that our body will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will have a house for us.
It will not be a house made by human hands; instead it will be a home in heaven that will last forever.' Visitation will be Sunday and Monday. Noble Poindexter, age 86 of Belleville, AR died Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville, AR. He was born September 3, 1911 in Young Gravelly, Yell County, Arkansas to the late Theo and Ida Parker Poindexter. He was a farmer and a member of the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Barclay Poindexter and a grandson, Barry Poindexter.
He is survived by a son, James Poindexter of Belleville, AR; a daughter, Geraldine "Judy" Dimmitt of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Berniece Burruss Pool died at the Guadalupe Medical Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico September 15. She was born August 15, 1920 at Rover and was raised in that community. She attended Rover and Plainview School and was graduated from Danville High School and also attended New Mexico State University.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Pool of Carlsbad; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Johnston of Midland, TX and Mrs. Edwina Bishop of Fritch, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Order of the Does Lodge in Carlsbad until her illness several months ago.
