Iva Lou Minor, 86, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at Dardanelle Hospital. She was born Nov. 21, 1916, at London. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha Esther Horton Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. E. Minor. She was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church, held offices in the church, PTA, AARP, Leisure Hours Club and Senior Activity Center, was a 50-year-plus member of Extension Home makers serving all offices, local and county, and the Extension Advisory Board and other committees. She volunteered many years in the community, church, schools, nursing homes, hospital auxiliary and 4-H.
Survivors include a son, Paul Minor and his wife, Janna, of Greenwood; a grandson, Mitchell Minor of Greenwood; a sister, Margaret Whorton of London; and a dear friend, Raymond Hillis.
Funeral will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at Cornwell Chapel. Burial will be in East Point Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service. Margaret Ann Minton, age 82, of Rover went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Christus Dubuis Health Hospital in Fort Smith. Margaret was born April 11, 1933, in Harvey, Arkansas to the late Bob & Treccie King Shores. She was a mother and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Raymond Shuler, Jerry Dupree and Robert Minton; sister Juanita Kimble; brothers, Cleston Shores, Robert Shores, W.R. Shores, and Malton Shores.

Ray Minton, Jr., best known as Junior, of Story, AR passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Jr was born December 21, 1954 to Ray and Fae Minton in Story, AR. He was a carpenter, farmer, and an avid deer hunter.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Fae Minton and his sister, Patsy Minton Wallace.
He is survived by two children and their spouses: daughter, Kimberley Minton Davis and husband, Kevin Davis of Jessieville; son, Brandon Minton and wife, Jennifer Minton of Hot Springs; his father, Ray Minton, Sr of Story; three brothers and their spouses, Kenneth Minton and Janet of Hot Springs, Jimmy Minton and Paige of Story and Bobby Minton and Kathy of Norman; his brother-in-law, Ronnie Wallace; four grandchildren, Braden Davis, Zachary Minton, Jarrett Davis, and Marissa Minton. Jr is also survived by his significant other, Debi Dale Hawkins of Plainview and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Junior's visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home in Mt. Ida. Service will be Thursday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Muddy Creek Church of God with interment to follow at Reed Cemetery both are located off Highway 27 near Story. DANVILLE - Dennie Norman Misenhimer, age 63, of Fort Smith, formerly of Danville, died Sunday, October 2, 1983 at St. Edward's Hospital at Fort Smith. He was a retired salesman, son of the late Charles and Lula Hunt Misenhimer, and was a member of First United Methodist Church at Fort Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Sharpe Misenhimer; four daughters, Mrs. Nancy Gonnerman of Manhattan Beach, Calif. Mrs. Jackie Avena of Bishop, Calif. Mrs. Denise Adensan of Long Beach, Calif. and Nadene Waterman of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Amy Lee Hancock of Danville and Mrs. Mamie Moudy of Southgate, Calif. and two grandchildren.

Agnes attended college at the University of Hawaii, while there she fell in love with oriental culture. She was a member and past president Arkansas Nursing Home Nurses Association; John Ed Chambers Memorial Hospital Board of Governors; licensed Arkansas Long Term Care Administrator; owner of Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville where she was Director of Nursing until 2011 then continued as nursing manager. She spent a lifetime taking care of nursing home residents whom she considered an extension of her family. She loved her horses, her friends, her family and her country. Preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Irvin & Melissa Gillespie; Arthur "Poss" & Agnes "Pet" Mitchell.

Aleen Mitchell, age 88, of Danville passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Chambers Memorial Hospital. Aleen was born March 24, 1928, in Prattsville, Arkansas to the late Fred & Zelma Duncan Moore. Aleen was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and mother. She was very active at the Millsap Senior Center where she loved quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alex "Hookey" Mitchell; brothers, Bobby and Bill Moore; sisters, Faye Dell Williams, Freddie Lee Moore, and Peggy Lowery; grandson, Justin Mitchell Gilkey.

Alex "Hooky" Mitchell, Jr. age 88, of Danville, AR passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born January 13, 1920 in Booneville, AR. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville, a WWII Army Veteran; he retired after 20 years from Arkansas Nuclear One and was a member of IBEU electoral union. He was a beloved husband, devoted father and a wonderful grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Myrtle Duncan Mitchell; brothers, Biely, Dempter & Doug; a sister, Inez Tharp and a grandson, Justin Gilkey.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Aleen Moore Mitchell; daughters, Betty Gilkey and husband Jerry of Fort Smith, AR, Judy Cannon and husband Jim of Murfreesboror, AR, Shelly White and husband Brian of Searcy. Mrs. James Mitchell, age 80 and widow of James Mitchell, pioneer merchant and planter of Dutch Creek valley, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter S. Howard February 24. She leaves to mourn her death three sons, Joe Mitchell, Danville; and Herbert and Bill Mitchell, Russellville; one daughter, Mrs. Lucy M. Howard, Waltreak; a number of grandchildren and one great grandchild. Aunt Ann, as she was fondly known to her many friends, came to Arkansas when a young girl of 12 from the state of Mississippi, the daughter of Dr. Henry, a prominent physician of Yell County. Aunt Ann was one of those lovable Christian characters who can't help but make one remember her kind and considerate deeds to one and all alike. As we look about us we can see few of the lovable plain types as she was, so in the shadow of the evening of Friday, February 24 she passed away and her soul returned to God. Barbara Dale Mitchell, age 57 of Hot Springs Village, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Friday, December 5, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Lester and Alice Dale Whala on August 2, 1951 in Bluffton, Arkansas. She was a 22 year resident of Hot Springs Village where she practiced real estate for 18 of those years. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors and Jessieville Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her father-in-law, Ivan Mitchell, and two brothers-in-law, Roy Wagner and Roy Syler.
She is survived by her mother and father, Lester and Alice Dale Whala, of Bluffton; her loving husband of 35. 5 years, Larry Mitchell of Hot Springs Village; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia Mitchell; one daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Jason Pugh; 3 grandchildren, Gavan Michael Mitchell, Garrett Alexander Mitchell Pugh, and Emmalice Ivana Kaylin Pugh, all of Benton; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Tabor of Oregon; Iva and Ed Meyers of Kansas, Debra Ann and Gary Sherrill, Peggy and C. Billy Mitchell, Jr. - Loving son, devoted father, cherished brother, Billy was born on April 12, 1983 in Pauls Valley, OK. He passed away in Mesquite, TX on October 29, 2009 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He attended school in Duncan, Oklahoma (Empire) and Danville, Arkansas as well as Dallas Institute of Funeral Service.
Billy is survived by his parents, Billy Charles Mitchell, Sr. of Danville, Arkansas and Richard and Melinda Gaulden of Marshall, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Sara Ann Stapp and her husband, Michael and Charlsey June (Charlie) Mitchell; the two loves of his life, his daughter, Alexis Leigh Mitchell and her mother, Courtni D'Ann Allen; his grandparents, June Mitchell and C. O. and Maggie Gaulden, along with numerous other family members and many friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Doug Mitchell and Thurman and Charlotte Absher.
Services were November 1, 2009, with Pastor Joe Don Raiborn officiating. Services were also held November 2, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, with Brother Larry Davis and Dr. Michael Waco officiating. Bobbie Kathy Katherine Mitchell, age 58, of Rogers died September 9, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers She was born March 31, 1950 in Russellville, AR to James Hoyt & Georgia (Vestal) Putman. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed being with her grandsons & other family members. She was a member of The Church at Pinnicale Hills were she was very active.
She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Poindexter & her father.

Boss Carrol Mitchell, age 99, of Danville passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mitchell's Nursing Home. He was born February 8, 1914 in Waltreak, AR to the late Arthur "Poss" & Agnes "Pet" Wrather Mitchell. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1938, was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity, he was a retired Agriculture Teacher having taught at Danville and Belleville, a State Senator for Logan, Yell, Montgomery and Scott counties from 1954 to 1958, a State Representative for Yell County from 1958 to 1962, Assistant Commissioner of Welfare under Govenor Orville Faubus and was Director of Arkansas Valley Industries. He taught a veterans class in Magazine Arkansas. After retirement Boss and his wife Katharyn owned and operated Log Cabin Antiques in Danville. In February 1997 he was honored by the Arkansas General Assembly for his distinguished service and received A Congressional Citation. He was a strong Democrat, always voting for his Democratic party, he voted at the age of 98 this last November.

Calvin C. "Cap" Mitchell, 89, of Lake Charles, left his Earthly Home on Saturday, October 4, 2014 to go his Heavenly Mansion with our Lord Jesus Christ. He passed away at his home surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son. Mr. Mitchell was born in Waltreak, Arkansas, on December 25, 1924, to Arthur and Agnes Mitchell. He graduated from Danville High School in Danville, Arkansas in 1942. After graduation he worked at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington but left Boeing on May 21, 1943 to serve his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged on April 5, 1946 and came to Lake Charles where he met the love of his life, Florence Ellis. They were married in 1948 and moved to Appleton City, Missouri where he and his wife owned and operated The Lindale Hotel and Restaurant. In 1951 he returned with his family to Lake Charles where Calvin went to work at Borden's Dairy as a wholesale route supervisor. He retired from Borden's in 1989 after thirty- eight years of service. First and foremost, Calvin was a devoted husband and wonderful father who provided Christian guidance and support to his family. He was a true Christian and set an exemplary example for his family and the world to see. He was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Trustees, and the Finance Committee.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Boss, Paul, Drexel, Hays, and Hoover.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Florence Ellis Mitchell; one daughter, Gladys Wojcik and her husband Paul of Pt. Neches, TX; one son, Steve Mitchell and his wife Cathy of Lake Charles. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Christy Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell and his fianc Brittany Domangue, and Lori Murphy and her husband Jason; also two great grandchildren Luke Mitchell and Lyla Murphy.
Funeral services were at 1:00 PM on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Estes officiating. Entombment will be in Consolata Cemetery. Charles "Charlie" David Mitchell, age 65 of Russellville, formerly of Danville, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born December 12, 1945 in Fort Smith, AR to Boss Carroll and Katharyn I. Waters Mitchell. He was former owner of Mitchell's Drug Store in Danville and retired as phar- macy manager at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Katharyn Mitchell and wife, Dorothy Mitchell.
Survivors include his father, Boss Mitchell of Danville; children and spouses, Matthew and Amy Mitchell of Russellville, Amanda and Charles "Chuck" Craig of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Caleb Mitchell of Russellville, Bailey, Dalton and Daniel Craig of Dardanelle; brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Margaret Mitchell of Dardanelle and three nieces.

He was a veteran of World War I. Dr. Mitchell received a degree in 1930 from the University of Oklahoma Medical School, interned at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, had one year of resident surgery at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, and was city doctor at Norman, Okla. for two years. He was employed as M.D. at the U. of O. Medical Center for 17 years before retiring in 1962 because of his health.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gillin and Miss Polly Mitchell, and one brother Clem Mitchell, all of near Danville.

Eddie "Mon" Mitchell, age 41, of Russellville, AR died Friday, January 17, 1997 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Russellville. He was a native of Russellville and was a son of Helen Jackson Mitchell of Russellville and the late Eddie Lee Mitchell. He was a draftsman, and had been employed at nuclear power plants in Russellville and South Carolina, and had most recently been with the Waterford Nuclear Power Plant in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Eilah Bost Mitchell, age 93, of Little Rock, a native of Atkins, died September 12, 1980. She was the widow of William W. Mitchell and the daughter of the late J. A. and Frances Carrell Bost. She was a graduate of the old Galloway College at Searcy and was a Methodist.
Survivors include a niece, Mrs. John P. Cowgar of Dardanelle, and a nephew, Dr. James W. Bost of Tulsa, Okla.

Foremost she was mother and homemaker to her husband and kids. June and her late husband Doug owned and operated Mitchell's Feed Store.

He was born September 11, 1928 in Waltreak, Arkansas to the late Arthur "Poss" and Agnes "Pet" Wrather Mitchell. He was an Army Veteran, a member of the Waltreak Methodist Church and Yell County Farm Bureau.

Word that Lieutenant James Lee Mitchell, R.C. A.F., of the Montreal Ferrying Command was lost last week while flying a bomber to England was received yesterday by his mother, Mrs. Mattie G. Mitchell of Nanoleon St. Playadel Rey. Mitchell, 34, enlisted in the R.CA.F. about a year and three months ago, going in as an instructor. He aided in the establishment of the Training School at Rivers, Manitola. About four months ago, upon his request, he was transferred to the Montreal Ferrying Command as a flight commander. Flight Lieutenant James L. Mitchell was born at Waltreak, son of the late Sambo Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell, went to school at Danville, from here went to Los Angeles and to Montreal.
