Johnson, Mildred H.

Mildred H. Johnson, age 87 died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Danville on July 6, 1918 to Wilburn and Laura Watson Pruitt. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, and a Librarian for 20 years. Member Eastern Star, Harmony Chapter, White Shrine of Jerusalem. Retired L.P.N. 20 years Sparks Hospital, and 20 years, State of Arkansas Sanatorium in Booneville.

Survivors include two grandsons and wives, Randy and Julie Hefner, Jerel "Tinker" and Desiarae Hefner daughter-in-law, Wynnona Hefener, brothers, Raymond Pruitt, all of Danville, Edward Pruitt of CA sister, Lottie Wigley of OR; great-grandchildren, Josh, Marissa and Talon Hefener.

Services were held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eddie Birdsong officiating. Burial was in Macedona Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.W. Mrs. Mollie Johnson, age 75, died at the home of Dan Johnson, Danville, February 5.

Burial was in Russell Cemetery, Bellville, at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were held at Danville Baptist Church by Rev. Finch.

Mrs. Myrtle Lee Whitten Johnson, 59, of Plainview died February 7 in her home. She was a native of Rover and a member of the Rover Baptist Church.

Johnson, Nedra Ann Reese

Nedra Ann Reese Johnson, age 71, of McLoud, OK passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008. Born in Hobart, OK October 20, 1936 to Howell and Mattie Fowler Reese.

Nedra was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie; daughters: Kathryn and Annetta; son, Ronnie, Jr. (Nancy); mother, Mattie; grandchildren: Christina (Jason) and Ethan; brother, Jimmy Reese as well as other relatives and friends.

Johnson, Nina Mariece Ryan Yeary

CONWAY - Nina Mariece Ryan Yeary Johnson, better known to friends as Resa, of Conway, died Monday, September 13, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer She was born January 27, 1917, at Rover, Ark., to Joseph William Ryan and Cara Pearl (Billue) Ryan. In 1936, she graduated from high school at Ola, Ark., came to Little Rock in 1937, married Bert Yeary on July 15, 1938, and was divorced in 1951. In 1957, she married Eldore F. Johnson. She and her husband were self-employed until 1974 when they sold everything and retired to Alexander, Ark. After Mr. Johnson died, she moved to Little Rock and worked as a realtor until May 2001, when she was diagnosed with cancer . Mrs. Johnson was a member of First Lutheran Church; LWML; Chairman of Circle #2; and the Altar Guild. She was baptized when she was a very young girl in Ola by a Baptist minister, Reverend Yancy.

Preceded in death by parents; her husband, Eldore Frank (Jack) Johnson who died in 1978 at the age of 75; six brothers, Allison, Herschel, and Johnie, Sandy, Roger, and Harris Ryan; and one sister, Laura Wright Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Jack A. Johnson and his wife, Mary Ann; a sister-in-law, Reba Ryan of Paris, Texas; and lots of nephews and nieces.

Oscar Howard Johnson, 76, of Oswalt, Okla. died on April 15, 1960. He was a native of Mississippi and had lived in Oswalt for many years. He was married to Miss Susie Roach in May, 1913 at Havana, who preceded him in death.

Johnson, Perry 'Odie'

Funeral services for Perry 'Odie' Johnson, age 56, of Higgins, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mills Chapel in Hartshorne.

Rev. Wayne Holcomb will officiate with burial at Damon Cemetery. Johnson died Thursday at McAlester Regional Hospital.

He was a roughneck in the oil field business and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. Johnson was born January 12, 1930 in Damon and married Dorothy Giles on Nov. 10, 1946 in Wilburton. He had lived in this area all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; two sons, Larry of Anchorage, Alaska, and Ronnie of Claremore; two daughters-in-law, Sandra of Anchorage, Alas, and Karen of Claremore; four grandchildren; a brother, Frank Johnson of Lolita, Tex. and several nieces and nephews.

Phillip Earl Johnson, age 50 of Havana, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at his home. He was born July 14, 1958 in Miami, AZ to the late Cole M. & Edna Iral Miller Johnson. He was an Army Veteran and member of the Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Belleville.

Johnson, Raymond H.

Long-time Russellville businessman Raymond H. Johnson, age 85, died Tuesday May 15, 2007 in Little Rock. He was born July 5, 1921, in Atkins, son of Horace Lafayette and Flonnie Odella Evans Johnson. He was one of the first employees and Supervisor of International Shoe Company, and was the owner of Raymond Johnson Sewing Machine Center in Russellville. He was a Master Gardener and Previous Site Council member of Pope County Senior Center, member of the United Commerical Travelers, active in the River Valley Iris Society, and attended the Atkins Methodist Church and Russellville Assembly of God Church and at one time he was a trustee member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, William "Bill" Harlan Johnson, Charles Fred Johnson, 2 sisters, Velma Johnson Hamlet and Ruth Johnson Lemley.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Mae Jones Huffstetler Johnson of Russellville. He is also survived by Sue Heflin Tucker, the mother of his two daughters, Sarah and Mary.

Surviving children and grandchildren are as follows daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Johnson Keathley and husband B. Richard Duane Johnson, age 65, of Belleville, AR, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at his home. He was born October 14, 1939 in Petersburg, ND to the late Harry and Mabel Tansather Johnson. He was a driller for Grubbs, Hoskins, Barton and Wyatt in Little Rock. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion.

DARDANELLE - Robert Marcellars Johnson, age 92, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, September 26, 1984 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was a retired farmer, son of the late Robert A. and Tennessee Johnson, and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Ann Smith Johnson; four sons, Burl J. Johnson of Walnut Ridge, Leotha J. Johnson of Lindsey, Calif., Robert M. Johnson Jr. of Madison, Wis. and Stanley J. Johnson of Russellville; three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Johnson, Ronnie Ray, Sr.

Ronnie Ray Johnson, Sr., age 73, of McLoud, OK, was born on May 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of Jack Van & Marie (Robinson) Johnson. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, in McLoud, OK. Ron enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1957 and served until his discharge in 1963. Soon after entering the Army, he met Nedra Anne Johnson and within 3 weeks decided they were meant to be together and they married on September 12, 1958. They shared their lives together for more than 49 years, until she passed away on January 6, 2008. Ron worked at Tinker AFB and retail grocery totaling more than 40 years. He liked the outdoors and being in the country, he always looked forward to just sitting under a shade tree and relaxing. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and yard work. Ron was a good Christian man and never met anyone that he couldn't talk to and he loved his family.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Johnson and sister, Margaret Stewart.

Ron is survived by 3 children, his son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie Ray Jr. & Nancy Johnson, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 daughters, Kathryn Morse, McLoud, OK, Annetta Johnson, Hartshorne, OK; 2 grandchildren, Christina Close & husband, Jason and Ethan Johnson, neices, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Johnson, Ruby Mae (Cossey)

Ruby Mae Johnson, 95, a resident of Russellville, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. She was born June 16, 1918, in Yell County to William Issac "Ike" and Ethel Dora Underwood Cossey. She was a member of the Fair Park Baptist Church where she served in whatever capacity was needed. She enjoyed painting, dancing, interior decorating, playing with her dog, quilting and spending time with her sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Lewis Gray and Jeff Johnson; an infant sister, Ruby Mae Cossey; an infant brother; two brothers, William Cossey and Bill Cossey; and two sisters, Mary Ethel Foshee and Gertrude Burt.

Survivors include two sisters, Allie Mae Sunseri of Modesto, Calif., and Modean Claypool of North Little Rock; and numerous nephews and nieces and extended family.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Humphrey Chapel with Pastor Todd Davis and Pastor Rick Balentine officiating. Mrs. Sarah Johnson, age 83, died at the home of her son, Levin Johnson at Ranger, Friday, June 9, after a long illness. She was born in South Carolina, and moved to Arkansas when she was only three years old. She was a member of the Methodist Church and lived a Christian life.

Shirley Weems Johnson, 75, of Uniontown, died Monday, July 15, 2013 in Van Buren. She was born September 18, 1937 in Dumas, AR to the late Howard and Alice Orrell. She was the Deli Manager at Snyder's IGA in Yukon, OK, an Avon rep, and a volunteer cook for the Cedarville Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics, cake baking, sewing, and crocheting. She attended Christian Life Ministries in Van Buren.

Johnson, Susan Ann "Sue"

Susan Ann "Sue" Johnson, 63, of Dardanelle died Saturday at Arkansas Heart Hospital. Born December 28, 1942, in Horatio J she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lillie Edwards Crabtree. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Johnson, Jr. and twin grandchildren, Dalton and Brooklyn Paige Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Johnson, Jackie Crabtree, Kathy Roach of Danville, Gary Johnson of Waldron, George Johnson of Waldron, Joseph Johnson of Waldron, Jason Johnson of Plainview, Milderage Bunn of Dardanelle; two brothers, Junior Crabtree and Jimmy Crabtree of Florida; three sisters, Ruth, Alta and Valerie, all of Mena; several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ted Johnson, age 71, of Birta died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born January 19, 1942 at Maude, Texas to the late Ted and Helen Rose Jones Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Jane "Susie" Sorochuk.

Johnson, Tony Richard

Tony Richard Johnson, age 72, of Delaware died Thursday, February 5, 1987. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a retired timber man.

Survivors include a son, Bob Johnson of Woodville, Ala.; two brothers, Ambrose Johnson Jr. of Delaware and the Rev. Jimmy Johnson of Gary, Ind.; five sisters, Lila Barnett of Delaware, Edith Keith of Medford, Okla. Eva Stone of Gary, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grade Johnson; a sister, Wanda Goocher and two infant daughters.

Virgie Erma Johnson, age 92 of Dardanelle, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born October 12, 1914 at Havana to Pies and Mattie Harris. She was the wife of the late Virgil Johnson. She was a member of the Centerville First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Johnson; her parents; three brothers, Orman, Harris, Eschel Harris, and Edward Harris.

Survivors include two daughters, Janelle Parker Fink and Shirley Rollans, both of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Mitchell Rollans, Suzie Reynolds and Pam Woodson, all of Dardanelle; four great-grandchildren, Amy Ford of Dardanelle, Adam Case of Cabot, Todd Houston of Dardanelle, Hope Wells of Pottsville; two great-great grandsons, Chance Marshall and Carson Ford of Dardanelle; three sisters, Bernice Garrison, Pauline Cook, both of Dardanelle, Ruth Allen of Jacksonville, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007, at 2 p. m. at Centerville First Baptist Church with Bro. James Whitlock and Bobby Loyd officiating. She is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane Johnson of Dardanelle, AR; a son, Craig Johnson of San Jose, CA; daughter, Charlotte Johnson of Little Rock, AR; brothers, James "Jimmy" Johnson of Russellville, AR, Jerry Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Lewis Johnson of Dardanelle, AR, Claudius Johnson of Little Rock, AR and Thomas Johnson of Houston, TX; sister, Jean Thompson of Southfield, MI, Verna Williams of Kansas City, KS and Linda Thompson of Dardanelle, AR; a grandson Ge'shaun Johnson of Little Rock, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Johnson, William "Bill"

William "Bill" Johnson, 79, a resident of Russellville, AR died Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at his home. He was born November 16, 1926, at Havana, Cuba on the United States Military Base, to Col. Jason Cornelius and Marion Heller Johnson. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church at Russellville; was a past board member of Ozark Conference; past chair of United Way; member of the Russellville Chamber of Commerce; was active with the Salvation Army's disaster relief efforts; was a Bible Study Fellowship discussion leader; taught the Berean Sunday School Class for 32 years; was a deacon and church clerk for the Chapel in University Park in Akron, Ohio; was a United States Army Air Force veteran, serving as a control tower operator; and was on the board of the Akron Youth for Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Rosanna Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Johnson of Russellville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marian and Bill Henderson of Russellville and Janet and Bill Wiley of Dover; and three grandchildren.

The funeral was Friday, September 22, 2006, at the First Baptist Church at Russellville with the Rev. Stephen P. Davis and the Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Billy Frank Johnston, age 67, died March 18, 2002 at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born October 24, 1934. He was a veteran of Arkansas National Guard. He was a retired truck dealer and driver.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Johnston and brother, Raymond Johnston.

Survivors include his wife, Kitty Johnson; his mother, Minnie Johnston; a son, Steve Johnston; a granddaughter, Jennifer Johnston, grandson, Jeremy Johnston and fiance Nicki Baldwin and daughter-in-law, Yvonne Johnston.

Johnston, Cabel Mary (Banks) (Mrs.)

Mrs. John Johnston, aged 54 years, died at her home, the old Johnston Homestead, two miles south of this city on Tuesday morning of last week, September 4, at 12:30 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks.

The funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. E. Baldwin, of Ola, were held at the family home Tuesday afternoon, interment being in Brearley Cemetery. Mrs. Johnston had been in poor health for some time and since the death of her husband on February 14, last, her grief had been inconsolable. Mrs. Johnston, whose maiden name was Banks, was a representative of a prominent pioneer family. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Baptist Church, and with a woman possessed of the highest type of Christian character.

She is survived by ten children, seven sons and three daughters, Harold, Frank, Lewis, Vernon, Joe, Meritt and Edward, and Misses Sue, Flora and Mae. Johnston, Earl L.

Earl L. Johnston, age 79, of Dover, AR died Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was a son of the late Burnnie Bennell and Sarah Emily Hodges Johnston. He was born July 25, 1927 at Havana, AR. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the United States navy and had served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was also a retiree of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Russellville after 17 1/2 years. He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge No. 17, was a life member of VFW Rogers-Rye Post No 2283 and a member of Baker's Creek Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Vernon Johnston; a sister Retha Mae Johnston; two stepsons, Jimmy and Eddie Cramer.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Ima Jean Johnston; a son and daughter-in-law, Earl (Johnny) W. and Elizabeth Johnston of Havana, AR; two step daughters, Linda and Dennis Martin and Mary Cramer; two grandchildren, Morgan Johnston of Cincinnati, OH and Jonathan Johnston of Dardanelle, AR; two step-grandchildren, Crystal and Tel Millard of Danville and Ashley Wells of Dardanelle, AR; four step great grandchildren, Dakota and Kynlee Millard and Zoe and Chloe Watkins; two special cousins, Harold and Jaye Johnston of Chino, CA and many other nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral service was March 10, 2007 at Baker's Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Clyde Vire. Burial with Military Honors by Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2282 was in McFadden Cemetery at Dover by Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers were Slim and Charlie Manns, Gary Treat, James Harris, Monty Estes and Loyd Rackley. Honorary were Leonard Elliott, Larry English and Lonnie Harris.
