Lora Ann Gillespie, age 38 of Las Vegas, NV died October 21, 2000 in Las Vegas. She was born September 7, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Joseph E. Jr. and Mary. J. DeLisle Barthelemy. She was a member of Society of Exploration Geophysicists, a Catholic at St. Thomas Moore Community at Green Valley, NV, a graduate of University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and Colorado School Mires.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Roy Gillespie.
She is survived by, her husband, David Roy Gillespie; a son, Jacob (Jake) David Gillespie of the home; two brothers, Joseph E. III and Susan Barthelemy of Dallas, TX and Ross Barthelemy of Fayetteville, AR; a sister, Jean Barthelemy of Hot Springs, AR; her mother-in-law, Nancy Gillespie of Belleville, AR; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Kathy Gillespie of Belleville, AR and Darryl, and Lynn Gillespie of Fayetteville, AR.
There will be service Wednesday, October 25 in Las Vegas. Graveside service will be Friday at 2 p. m. at Russell Cemetery in Belleville, AR with Rev. Bill Storts officiating. Mrs. Pearl Gillespie, age 90, of Shreveport, La. died at a Shreveport nursing home November 1 [1965]. She had been a resident of Shreveport for many years and was a member of the Cedar Grove Methodist church. She was a former resident of Ola.
Survivors include one brother, W.L. Gillespie, of Shreveport; two nephews, W.L. Gillespie Jr. of Hobbs, New Mex. and W.M. Gillespie of Shreveport; and a niece, Mrs. Pauline Walton of Shreveport.
Funeral services were held at the Ola Cemetery November 3 with Rev. James Pollard, pastor of the Ola Methodist Church, officiating. Cornwell Funeral Service was in charge of burial services. Mr. Robert 'Rab' Ishmael Gillespie, 73, of Danville died Saturday, September 8 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Gillespie was the son of the late Henry Irvin and Melissa Watson Gillespie, a native of Waltreak Community, Yell County, Arkansas. He was a retired farmer, truck driver and a school bus driver for the Danville Public Schools and a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Danville.
Survivors are his wife, Edith Ringer Gillespie, 3 sons, Bob Gillespie of Bruno, Ark., Jim Gillespie of Lonoke, Henry Gillespie of Danville, two brothers, James E. Gillespie of Danville, Roy L. Gillespie of Belleville, three sisters, Maurine Mitchell, Bobbie Sue Hunnicutt, Geneva Pledger all of Danville, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, September 10, at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at Danville with the Rev. John McElroy and the Rev. Ron Shipley officiating. Robert Lloyd "Bob" Gillespie, age 70 of Everton, formerly of Danville, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born December 31, 1939 in Russellville to the late Robert Ishmael and Edith Ringer Gillespie. He was an independent sales representative for the furniture industry. He was an Air Force veteran, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Bruno Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Henry Lee Gillespie, and infant sister, Anna Lou Gillespie.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Stokes Gillespie; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Jeff Westcott of Houston, Texas, Kelly and Darrel Bell of Harrison; brother and sisters-in-law, James "Jim" and Barbara Gillespie and Lynda Gillespie all of Danville; grand-daughters, Elizabeth Westcott of Houston, Texas, Jeanine and Chris Keeter and Angela Bell all of Harrison and a great- grandson arriving any day, Bently Lloyd Keeter; nephews, Jeff, Tony, Mark and Stacy Gillespie; nieces, Cheryl Davidson, Jill Gillespie and Dixie Smith.

Roy Lee Gillespie, 65, of Belleville, died Thursday, July 6, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Cooper, Texas, March 1, 1930, and was the son of the late Henry Irvin and Sarah Melissa Watson Gillespie. He had owned and operated Roy's Barber Shop in Danville for the past 25 years. He was the mayor of Belleville, a deacon in the Dr. John Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Belleville, a 32nd degree Mason Scottish Rite, Fort Smith, a member and past master Christian Lodge 391 in Belleville, past master Danville Masonic Lodge 42 and the presiding worshipful master. He was a member of the Yell County Rodeo and Riding Club and a Korean conflict Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Herchel Gillespie, Hays Gillespie, and Robert Gillespie and one sister, Dessie Gillespie.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lee Apple Gillespie; three sons, David Roy Gillespie of Las Vegas, Nev., Frank Duane Gillespie of Belleville, and Darrel Hays Gillespie of Fayetteville; a brother, James Gillespie of Danville; three sisters, Maurine Mitchell, Bobbie Sue Hunnicut and Geneva Pledger, all of Danville; three grandchildren, Samuel Roy Gillespie, Teresa Audrey Gillespie of Belleville, and Jacob David Gillespie of Las Vegas, a sister-in-law, Frankie Lou McBride; and several nephews and nieces.

Martha R. Gillham, age 86 of Dardanelle, died December 5, 2006 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. She was born April 17, 1920 at Hot Springs to Lucien and Helen Ramseur. The 1938 Valedictorian of her Hot Springs High School Class, she was an avid bird watcher and authored a column on bird watching for the Arkansas Wildlife Federation Magazine for over 15 years and was a member of the Dardanelle First United Methodist Church. She held the position of Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Yell County Democratic Committee from 1950-2001.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Ralph Gillham of the home; two sons, Lucien Gillham and his wife Jan of Sherwood, Richard Gillham and his wife Mari of Huntsville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Graves of Delaware, and Elizabeth Horn of Pasadena, TX.

Ralph Gillham died February 18, 2010. He was born May 17, 1920 in Royal Arkansas to Herman and Edna McCaslin Gillham. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1938 and started work for EC. Steams Hardware Company in Hot Springs in 1940. He married his wife of 65 years, Martha Helen Ramseur of Hot Springs, in 1940.
He entered the US Army Air Corps cadets in 1942 and trained as a bombardier. He flew 30 missions in B-17's from England to Germany with the 535 Squadron, 381sf Group out of Ridgewell, England. He won three Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was commended for hitting targets at Hamburg, Germany and Tours La Riche, France while flying as group lead bombardier. He was lifelong friends with his pilot, Phillip Gnatzig, who once flew their B-17 from Berlin back to England with only two engines, the longest two engine flight in combat by a B-17 at that time. He later served as a bombardier instructor and finished the war as a B-25 pilot. He later owned his own plane and piloted up through the 1990's.
He returned to work with EC. Steams in 1945 and retired from them in 1985. He sold wholesale hardware throughout western Arkansas and had scores of friends in the hard ware business. He continued to work in the hardware business as a manger at Leonard's Hardware in Russellville until his death. On February 6, 2010 he had worked in the hardware business for 70 years. He was active in wildlife conservation and was a hunter of quail, ducks, pheasants and turkeys. He hunted every day of duck season up until 2001. He served as President and in several other offices for the Arkansas Wildlife Federation and the Yell County Wildlife Federation. He was one of the founding members of the Yell County Wildlife Federation and was still active until death. He had also served as the President of the Dardanelle School Board. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was appointed to the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, by the Governor Bumpers when the commission was first formed.
He is survived by two sons, Lucien R. Gillham and wife Jan of Sherwood and Richard Gillham and wife Mari of Huntsville, three grandchildren, Lucien Gillham of Little Rock, Claire Eanes of Little Rock and Matthew Gillham of Huntsville and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jim Wood, Jeff Henry, Eule Carr, Ralph Boen, Bill Payne, Bill Pfieffer, Jimmy Ellis, and Jim O'Neal. Honorary Pallbearers were Flip Cowger, A. B. Cox, J. R. Gray, Robert Apple, Bill Berry, Mark Graves, the Employees of Leonard's Hardware, Members of the Yell County Wildlife Federation, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3141.

Rosemary Gilliam, age 72 of Little Rock, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice in St. Vincent's Doctor's Hospital in Little Rock. She was born to the late May B. (Williams) Gilliam on September 2, 1936 in Belleville, AR, and was a graduate of Belleville High School. She was born with cerebral palsy. She was an excellent child care provider and enjoyed taking care of her home and yard, but the last couple of years, she lived in a nursing home where she loved to play dominos and cards and tried to help the other residents by pushing wheelchairs or whatever needed to be done.
She is survived by her aunt and uncle, Paul and Bonnie Tedder of Little Rock, numerous cousins and special friends.

Donald B. Gillies, Jr. passed away November 18, 2002 in Naples, FL at the age of 83. He was born July 26, 1919 in Cleveland, OH to Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Gillies, Sr. He graduated from the Hotchkiss School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He married Jacqueline Rose Gateley (formerly of Yell County) in 1942 they separated in 1971. The last few years of his life was spent caring for Jackie in Naples, FL.
At the time of his death he was preceded by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Yancey Gillies and his granddaughter, Angela Margaret Joy.
He is now survived by his seven daughters, Jacqueline Joy and Yancey Gillies both of Dewittville, NY, Jessie Lobo of Scarsdale, NY, Tippy Pierce of Richmond, VA, Lina Gillies and Molly Sprouse both of Nantucket, MA and Patience Laws of Sydney, Australia; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

James S. Steve Gills, age 19, of Cabot died Friday. He was an employee of Russell Murdock Construction Company, a student at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway and a Baptist.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James O. Gills of Cabot; a brother, Michael Gills of Washington, D. C.; two sisters, Traci and Kristi Gills, both of Cabot, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Gills and Edith Treadwell (formerly of Danville), all of Little Rock.

Over 42 years of service as country doctor ended for Dr. A. D. Gillum, 68, of Belleville, Tuesday afternoon. Dr. Gillum died at St. Mary's Hospital in Russellville following a short illness.
Dr. Gillum was one of the few doctors who return from medical school to practice at home. He was a member of a pioneer Yell County family. His father, J. W. Gillum, was one of the early settlers in the Carden Bottom area and moved to Wing 52 years ago. Dr. Gillum was a member of the second 4-year graduating class in medicine at the University of Arkansas and began his medical practice in Yell County. He spent 23 years at Rover, Blue Ball and Ola, 10 years as a CCC medical director and the past nine years at Belleville. Caryn Cheri Cox Gillum, age 45, of North Little Rock, formerly of Plainview, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at her home. She was born December 24, 1970, in Hot Springs to the late Thomas Verdell and Barbara Elaine Durall Cox. She was a 1989 graduate of Plainview High School and a 1994 graduate of Arkansas Tech where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economies and Finance. She loved cooking, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and studying the Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Don Cody Gillum, age 87, of Pine Bluff, AR died on February 13, 1994 at Davis Life Care in Pine Bluff. He was born on June 5, 1905 in Wing, AR to the late Arthur D. and Rosalie Snipes Gillum. He was reared and received his early education in Yell County. He attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. He taught school in Yell in his early adult life. He married, Sybil King on March 22, 1928 in Rover. He moved to Gould in 1945 where he farmed until his retirement in 1969, when he moved to Pine Bluff, where he continued his love for gardening for many years.
Survivors his wife, Sybil King Gillum; three sons, Dr. Arthur W. Gillum of Little Rock, Rex F. Gillum of Arlington, TX and John W. Gillum of Jackson, TN; three daughters, Betty Rose McDuffie of McRae, GA, Martha Ann Jeane of Mobile, AL and Donna L. Miller of Pine Bluff; one brother, Jeff Gillum of Okmulgee, OK; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Franz Gillum age 75, of Wing, died Wednesday morning, April 11, 1974 at the St. Vincents Hospital in Little Rock. He was a retired teacher and farmer, a native of the Poontom Community of yell County, and the son of the late John and, Mattie Tucker Gillum.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Gillum; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bryant of Maryland, Mrs. Jane Woodruff of Carlisle, and Mrs. Joan Jacobs of Virginia; one brother, Homer Gillum of Wing; and four grandchildren.

CARLISLE - Mrs. Grace Norman Gillum, aged 75, of Carlisle (Lonoke County), formerly of Rover (Yell County), widow of Franz Gillum, died Friday. She was a home-maker and a member of the Carlisle Baptist Church.

Harold Eugene Gillum, age 84, of Rover passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. He was born July 20, 1930 in Wing, Arkansas to the late John R. & Irene Lazenby Gillum. He was a 21 years retired Master Sergeant, US Air Force Veteran; he also retired from the Forrest Service. Harold was a cattle rancher and a member of the Rover Baptist Church and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry Franz Gillum; sister, Johnnie Sue Willis.

Harry Franze Gillum, 69, of Rover, AR passed away Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at his home. He was born in Wing, AR October 1, 1927 to the late John and Irene Lazenby Gillum. He was a construction worker, an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Rover Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Vaughn Gillum; one son, Randy Gillum of California; one step-son, Chuck Perry of Colorado; four stepdaughters, Betty Davis of Sherman, TX, Rutha Huffman of Grants Pass, OR, Mary Vines of Kingman, AZ and Bessie Campbell of CA; two brothers, Harold E. Gillum of Rover and Jerald "Pat " Gillum of Arkadelphia; three sisters, Johnie Sue Willis of Gravelly, La vena Janette Workman of Fort Worth, TX and Barbara Lou Arrington of Vicksburg, MS; two grandsons and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Homer Jack Gillum, Jr. of Scranton, formerly of Belleville, AR died Sunday, November 26, 1995 at Clarksville Hospital in Clarksville. He was a retired rancher and WWII Army Veteran. He was born in Wing, AR August 19, 1920 son of the late Homer and Maggie Grassland Gillum, Sr. he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Gossett Gillum, a granddaughter, Alycia Gillum, a brother, Orvil Gillum and a sister, Johnie Lou Booher.

John Pete Gillum was born March 21, 1919, in Rover and died December 30, 1985, in Blythe, Cal. He was the son of the late Dr. A. D. Gillum and Rosalie Snipes Gillum. For the past thirteen years his home was Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held, Saturday, January 4 at 10:00 a. m. in the Buchanan Memorial Chapel with Elder A. G. Ross, Jr. of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment was in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Buchanan-McClendon.

Mrs. Louise Gossett Gillum, age 59, of Belleville died July 3 in St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith. Mrs. Gillum was a wife and mother and a member of the Belleville Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late James S. and Nora Gossett. Rutha A. Gillum, age 81, of Rover, AR died Friday, October 6, 2006, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. She was born January 17, 1925 in Cardwell, MO, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Mary (Rose) Vaughn. She was a homemaker, a member of the Rover Baptist Church, and treasurer of the Rover Home Extension Club. She enjoyed her family, friends, working crossword puzzles, homemaking and fishing. In 1941 she married James D. Poindexter who preceded her in death. In 1959 she moved to Garden Grove, CA with her children. She obtained her LVN license and worked for several years at Fairview State Hospital. In 1966 she met and married Harry Franz Gillum, who preceded her in death. For many years they enjoyed life in Yorba Linda, CA. Upon his retirement in 1989 they moved to his birthplace near Rover.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Harry Gillum and James Poindexter, four brother and four sisters.
She is survived by four daughters, Betty Davis of Rover, AR, Ann Huffman of Grants Pass, OR, Mary Stredde of Kingman, AZ and Bessie Campbell of Yorba Linda, CA; a son, Chuck Perry of Aurora, CO; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

ONTARIO Tressie I. Gillum, age 88, of Ontario died October 19, 1997, at Vitas Healthcare, Riverside. She was born August 22, 1909, in Rover, Ark. and lived in Ontario for 40 years. She was a homemaker.
Ms. Gillum is survived by three sons, Bobby J. Gillum of Pine Bluff, Ark. Billy C, Gillum of Ontario and Roy C. Gillum of Pomona; two daughters, Shirley J. Cox of Winters and Joyce I. Cecil Leon Gilmore, of Danville, AR, formerly of Briggsville, AR died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton, AR. He was born in Bluffton, AR to the late William Horace and Maude Rogers Gilmore. He was a retired foreman for the Arkansas State Highway Department, Bluffton Masonic Lodge and the Briggsville United Methodist Church.
