Lester James Gilkey, born January 24, 1934 in Plainview, AR passed away December 14, 2010 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of 29 years to Janet S. Gilkey. He will be greatly missed by children, Jacqueline Gilkey, Linda Woolridge (Don), Elizabeth Heroux (Ron) and Lester James Gilkey, Jr. He has nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
He is also survived by four sisters and five brothers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Willie Mae Gilkey, two brothers, Haze and Roy Gilkey. He worked for the State of California for 35 years. In retirement, he fished and played with his grandchildren and fished some more. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.

Loyd Ray Gilkey, age 86, of Havana formerly of Danville passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A lifelong resident of Yell County, he was born on November 19, 1923 to the late Tom & Nellie Stevenson Gilkey. He was a WWII Merchant Marine Veteran and owner & operator of Gilkey's Service Station for over 35 years in Danville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters, grandsons Justin Mitchell Gilkey and Jarred Leslie Gilkey.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Geraldine Bell Gilkey of Havana; sons & daughter-in-laws Jerry & Betty Gilkey of Fort Smith; Jimmy & Judy Gilkey of Havana; grandsons Russell and Tracy Gilkey of Russellville; Wade & Kellie Gilkey of Fort Smith; great-grandchildren Courtney Gilkey, Clayton & Kevin Felkins of Russellville, Kaitlyn, Avery and Conner Gilkey of Fort Smith. Mrs. Marie Elizabeth Hunt Gilkey, age 76, of Danville died Saturday, February 22, 1992 at Yell County Nursing Home at Ola. She was a native of Bradley and daughter of the late Logan Baxter and Mary Mclntyre Hunt. She was the widow of Allie Gilkey, a retired beautician and member of the Danville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Neva Laster of Danville, Ila Willis of Gravelly, Bessie Wilburn of Mena and Lillie Powell of Waldron and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday at Danville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Sam Williams. Burial was in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service of Danville. Mrs. Willie Mae Love Gilkey, age 83, of Danville, AR widow of the late Henry Gilkey died Saturday, April 7, 2001 at her daughter's home in Dardanelle, AR. She was born February 3, 1918 in Plainview, AR to the late George and Hester Barnett Love. She retired after 25 years from the Yell County Hospital in Danville and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for 57 years and was also a member of the Silver Moon Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Roy and Haze Gilkey; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors are six sons and daughters-in-law, James and Janet Gilkey of Sacramento, CA, Charles Gilkey of Ft. Service will be today, Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 11:00 a. m. First United Methodist Church in Danville with Rev. David Hawkins and Rev. Alex Bray officiating. Vera Marie Clubb Gill, age 71, died of lung disease Thursday (March 15, 1984) at 11:30 p. m. at Oak Ridge Health Care Center where she was a resident. Mrs. Gill was known in Oak Ridge for her needlework. People would bring yarn to her in the health care center and she would crochet special pieces for them, according to her daughter, Dixie Marie (Gill) Hickey, of Oak Ridge, who survives her. Mrs. Gill was a member of First Christian Church of Oak Ridge. She was the widow of Richard G. Gill who died in 1975.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her son, William Arthur Gill, of Memphis three grandchildren, Steve Hickey, Oak Ridge, Diane Boatman, Cookeville, and Laura Gill of Memphis, and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Boatman, Cookeville.
The graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p. m. at Mount George Cemetery in Mount George, Ark. Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, Ark. is in charge of arrangements there. Ms. Edith Ellen Gillespie, age 65, of Danville, AR died Sunday, April 28, 1996 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville. She was born in Cheyenne, WY, May 21, 1930, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Charlotte Ellen West Walls. They moved to Belleville in 1933 where her father was a Methodist minister. Later she lived in California for 24 years, before returning to Belleville in 1974. She was a retired nurses aide.
She is survived by her sons: Bill Gillespie of Centerville and Randy Gillespie of Danville; her daughter, Marilyn Owens of Chico, CA; three granddaughters, Amanda Owens of Chico, CA and Annie and Abby Gillespie of Danville; two grandsons, Evan Owens of Blend, OR and Eric Owens of Klamath Falls, OR; a great-granddaughter, Amber Lopez-Owens of Chico, CA; sister, Roberta Harkey of Belleville and many nieces and nephews.

Edith Marie (Ringer) Gillespie of Danville went to be with the Lord Monday, April 12, 2010. She was born October 15, 1918 in Yell County to Orland and Lou (Reece) Ringer. She was the last surviving rounding member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Rab" Gillespie, newborn daughter Anna Lou Gillespie, and son Henry Lee Gillespie. Also, siblings Lilly Thompson, Lorene Rogers, Ann Walker, and George Ringer.
She is survived by two sons Robert "Bob" Gillespie and wife Betty of Everton, and James "Jim" and Barbara Gillespie of Danville; and daughter-in-law Lynda Gillespie. Also, surviving are grandchildren and spouses Tony and Kim Gillespie, Mark Gillespie, Cindy and Jeff Westcott, Cheryl and James Davidson, Stacy and Julie Gillespie, Jeff and Amanda Gillespie, Dixie and Scott Smith, Kelly and Darrel Bell, and Jill Gillespie. Sisters-in-law Geneva Pledger, Nancy Gillespie, Bobbie Sue Hunnicutt, and Betty Gillespie. Fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews mourn her passing.
Services are under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home, and funeral services by Rev. Kenny Vosburg at 2 pm Thursday at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Danville. Interment will follow at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Henry Lee Gillespie, age 59, of Danville, AR died Sunday, September 9, 2001 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was born December 31, 1941 in Danville to the late Robert I. Gillespie. He was a farmer, owner and operator of Gillespie Spray Service and Gillespie Poultry Service, former owner of Gillespie Paint and Carpet Store in Danville, former member of the Yell County Ambulance Board, Danville Fire Department, where he served as assistant Fire Chief and the Danville JC's where he served as the State Sergeant at Arms and was a former Pee-Wee football coach at Danville where he remained undefeated throughout his coaching. He was an active member of the American Limousine Association, American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association and American Jockey Club and a 1959 graduate of Danville High School. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lou Gillespie.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lynda J. Oates Gillespie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles A. "Tony" and Kimberly Gillespie and Mark C. Gillespie all of Danville, AR and Stacy N. and Donna Gillespie of Belleville, AR; his mother, Edith Ringer Gillespie of Danville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Betty Gillespie of Harrison, AR and Jimmy and Barbara Gillespie of Danville; four grandchildren, Darren P. and laden E.
