Archie Ray Gaylor, age 82 of Plainview, passed away from this life to his eternal life with the Lord Friday, September 18, 2010 at his sister's home in Little Rock, AR. He was born January 27, 1929 in Ola, AR to the late Earl Wessley and Daisy Lee Lowery Gaylor. He was an Army Veteran, longtime resident of the Kingston Community, Plainview's NAPA business owner and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his sister, Nina Sue Niemeyer of Little Rock, AR; nieces and nephews, Betty Lynn, Karalin Rodgers, Betty "Carol" Crites, Troy McConnell, Carl "Corkey" McConnell and Jimmy McConnell; several other nieces and nephews, a host of friends and his beloved dogs, Lady, Little Dog and Spot.

Boniface F. Geels, age 73, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Johnson Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born May 14, 1934 in Morrison Bluff to the late George and Crescence Wewers Geels. He was a member of the St. Scholastica Catholic Church in New Blaine. He was a member of the VFW Post 8383 in New Blaine and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Chicopee Manufacturing after 33 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 17 years Clara Geels; two brothers, Bill Geels, Ray Geels; sister, Ernestine Ahrns; and son, Cleve Keeling.
Survivors include six sons, Brad Geels of North Little Rock, Brent Geels of Maumelle, Sam Keeling of New Blaine, Anthony Keeling of Centerville, Randy Keeling of Russellville, Bryant Keeling of Chicago, IL. daughter, Vickey Arender of Yazoo City, MS; two brothers, Cletus Geels of Morrison Bluff, Butch Geels of Scranton; sister, Betsy Schluterman of Fort Smith; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held September 25, 2007 at the Scholastica Catholic Church in New Blaine. Internment was at Atkins Cemetery. Rosary service was Monday at Cornwell Chapel with visitation following. Military honors will be provided by Boyce Woods VFW Post #3141 of Dardanelle. Clara Nell Geels, age 72 of New Blaine, died Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006 at her home. She was born July 5, 1933 at Yell County, AR to the late Benjamin and Gracie Stroud Scoles. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Russellville and the Ladies Auxiliary V. F. W. Post 8383 of New Blaine.
She is preceded in death by a son, Cleve Keeling; 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and a grandson, John Samuel Keeling II.
Survivors include her husband, Bon Geels of New Blaine; four sons, Sam Keeling of New Blaine, Anthony Keeling of New Blaine, Randy Keeling of Russellville, Bryant Keeling of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia and Jerry Hallum of Ozark, Vickey and Jack Arender of Yazoo City, MS; a daughter-in-law, Julie Keeling of Atkins; two stepsons, Brent arid Brad Geels both of Little Rock; a brother, Jesse Scoles of Centerville; two sisters, Bessie Gray of Centerville, Bobbie Bolden of Dardanelle; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5, 2006, at Cornwell Chapel at Dardanelle with Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial was at Atkins Cemetery in Atkins. Mr. Lawson C. Geibe, age 82, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, January 3, 1997 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was born November 26, 1914 in Salem, IL to the late Andrew and Daisy Goosetree Geibe. He was a retired shoe factory foreman and a member of the First Methodist Church in London.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Geibe; a son, Edwin Lee Geibe and a daughter, Kay Ruble.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Dorothy Geibe of Dardanelle; a sister, Velma Davis of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, Danny Ruble of London, Lee Ann Geibe of Russellville, Carol Spears, Nancy Geibe, Alan Geibe and Andy Geibe all of Dardanelle; and four great-grandchildren.

Richard D. "Dick" Geibe, age 65 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born September 9, 1942 at Salem, IL to the late Lawson and Berniece Smith Geibe. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Presbyterian Church, where he was a past Elder. He owned and operated Dick Geibe Plumbing in the River Valley for over 30 years and also served in the National Guard for eight years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Berniece Geibe; sister, Kay Ruble and a brother, Ed Geibe.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dorthy Geibe of Dardanelle; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Kurt Spears of Dardanelle, Nancy Geibe Wasson and Jeff "Doc" Wasson of Rogers; four grandchildren; several other family and friends.

Mr. J. D. Geiger, age 70 of Bluffton, AR died Tuesday, November 1, 1994 at his home in Bluffton. He was born in Wing, AR on November 7, 1923, son of the late Amzie and Charity Spears Geiger. He was a retired farmer and timberman.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carrell Geiger, Glenn Geiger and Calvin Blackwood; two sisters, Wanda Geiger Thurman and Rose Lee Blackwood Buford.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Moody Geiger; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jerry Pickens of Bluffton; a grandson, Russell Pickens of Bluffton; two sisters, Jessie Geiger Weinhold and Jean Geiger Taylor both of Willits, CA.

Miss Myrtle Geiger, age 67, of the Shark community, died at St. Vincent's Hospital September 3. She had lived in Yell County practically all of her life and was a member of the Waltreak Methodist Church.

Esther Ann Gentry, 81, was born January 12, 1884 near Waldron and died in the McCurdy Memorial Hospital in Purcell, Okla. January 10. She was a former resident of Danville and a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors are two sons, Thelder A. Gentry of Danville, and Reginald A. Gentry of Martinez, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Mollie Gentry of Centrahoma, Okla., Mrs. Arlie Belle Adams of Maysville, Okla., Mrs. Icy Priddy of Roland, and Mrs. Irene Walker of Albuquerque, N.Mex.; three brothers, Lewis Hutchens of Wister, Okla., Archie Hutchens of Waldron, and Ira Hutchens of Dinuba, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Vestall of Noble, Okla., Mrs. Della Neal of Wister, Okla., Mrs. Irtely Walker and Mrs. Lillie Rhyne of Waldron; thirty grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Avo Gentry, age 85, of Danville, AR died Friday, February 20, 1998 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was the widow of Thelder Gentry. She was born in Ranger, February 16, 1913, daughter of the late John Henry and Viola Howard Michael. She was a mother and homemaker.

James Earl Gentry age 63 of Knoxville died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at his home. He was born April 18, 1938 in Delaware to the late Bennie Ray and Stella Reed Gentry. He was a member of Boyce-Woods VFW Post 3141, AMVETS Post 50 in Russellville, serving as Commander for three years.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Hubbard.

Janey Lea Stewart Gentry, age 63, of Russellville died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at her home. She was born April 27, 1944 at Oklahoma City, OK, to the late Lloyd Franklin and Ola Lea Shoemaker Stewart. She worked at ConAgra in Russellville for 16 years and was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Kristen Hoffman of Dardanelle; brothers and sister-in-laws, Johnny and Rose Stewart of Dardanelle, Jackie and Alicia Stewart of Texas, Joe and Leslie Stewart of Denver, CO, Jimmy and Eva Stewart of Mustang, OK; sister, Joyce and Bob Bata of Dardanelle; and numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Gentry; a daughter, Dora Hubbard; and seven brothers.

ANOTHER OLD SOLDIER HAS BEEN CALLED AWAY Dear "Uncle Bob" George has been called away. He was the oldest living member of the George family living. He was born July 4th, 1847, and died at his home near Centerville on January 10th, 1933, being at the time of his death 85 years, seven months and six days of age. Mr. George enlisted as a volunteer in the Union Army on the 20th day of January 1864, to serve three years or until the war was ended. He received an honorable discharge on the 22nd day of May, 1865. "Uncle Bob" was first married to Miss Sara Greenwood about 1870. Three children blessed this union, two boys and one girl. Mrs. George died about 1876. He was married the second time to Miss Nancy Sloan about 1877. Thirteen children blessed this union, nine girls and four boys. "Aunt Nancy" and an infant died in 1901. "Uncle Bob" was married the third time to Mrs. Ella Meeks in 1903. Five children blessed this union, four boys and one girl.
"Uncle Bob was the father of 21 children, seven of whom preceded him in death. Fourteen children are yet living, and 12 of them were at the funeral. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his children, a wife who has been faithful to him for 30 years. We realize a vacant place that no one can fill has been left in the home.
We feel that the large crowd assembled at the funeral was evidence of affection to "Uncle Bob" and his children. "Uncle Bob" obeyed the Gospel about 1870 and became a member of the Church of Christ. May the Lord bless and comfort his dear wife and children, that they may trust the Lord and make preparation for a better world in a better place than this.

Longtime Fair Registrar, Pianist Betty George, Dies - Betty George of Danville died on Monday after a long illness at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Betty Sue George, age 87, of Mount George died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. She was born August 15, 1929 at Ola to the late Clarence "CE" and Bertha Rae Smith George. She was a member of the Ard Church of Christ. Betty Sue was a 1948 graduate of Ola High School, a 1951 graduate of Sparks Memorial School of Nursing, a 1955 graduate of Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia and a 1979 graduate of College of the Ozarks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Joe David George; four sisters, Zelma George, Loueva "Babe" Mills, Geneva George and Bertha Pennington; nephews, Jim Mills, Larry Mills and a great nephew, Joshua Trent George.
Survivors include her brother, Robert "Sonny" George (Betty Jo) of Mount George; one nephew, Chris George (Cathy) of Mount George; two nieces, Betsy Henson (Raymond) of Austin, AR, Sherry Holt (Michael) of Ola; seven great nephews; two great nieces several great great nieces and nephews.

Betty Sue Cowger George, age 80, of Danville, AR died March 31, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 18, 1927 and raised in Danville, Betty Sue graduated from Danville High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Throughout the years, she touched the lives of multiple generations as a music, speech and English teacher at Garland Elementary School in Little Rock, Fourche Valley School, Belleville Elementary and High School and Danville High School. Betty Sue was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as a pianist and member of the choir. Her musical talents were often requested for weddings, funerals, graduations and other community events. She has also been an active member of the Yell County Cancer Board, the University of Central Arkansas Alumni Board, the Family Council at Mitchell Nursing Home, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Danville Music Club and the Yell County Library Board. In addition to her musical accomplishments, Betty Sue will be remembered for her devotion to her children, her strong will and independence, her clever sense of humor, and her beautiful smile and blue eyes.
Betty Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Cowger of Danville and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Cowger of Danville and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Stewart of Plainview.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses; daughters Betty George Woody and Dennis Woody of Danville, AR, and Bonny George Dennis and Dave Dennis of Conway, AR, and her sons Nathan V. George and Jan Dixon George of Dardanelle, and Jasper L. George and Arlene Tucker George of Birta, AR Betty Sue was "Nanny" to her nine beloved grandchildren; Georgia Meredith and her husband Kurt of Conway, AR, Cody Alford of Henderson, NV, Jon-Nathan George of Russellville, AR, Jason George of Dardanelle, AR, Janae George of Conway, AR, Jay George and his wife Jana of Ramstein, Germany, Jasmine McBride and her husband Justin of Clarksville, TN, Jordon George of Greenwood, AR, and Travis Talley and his wife Donya of Manheim, Germany. Betty Sue had three great-grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the impending birth of two more.
Funeral services for Betty Sue Cowger George will be held at the Danville United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 3 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. George Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2 in the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville, AR. Pallbearers will be Martha Lynn Burks, Polly Goodwin, Bartley Bell, Wendell Frame, Don Frame, Jerry Payne and Buddy Wright. Birth: Jul 21, 1968 - Little Rock, Arkansas Death: Jul 28, 2008 - Fort Worth, Texas Blake was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and had lived in Fort Worth, Texas for 16 years. He had served with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office since 1994. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle and a friend to all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Fewster George; children, Joshua Rance George of Russellville, Ark., Hailee Danielle George and Alexa Marie George of Euless and Loren and Benjamin Gardner of Layton, Utah; parents, Roy Luther George and wife, Sandy, of Dardanelle, Ark., and Grace L. Byrd and husband, Paul, of Conway, Ark.; siblings, Rhonda Anderson and husband, Laney, of Eagle River, Alaska, James Edward "Jim" George and wife, Rhonda, of Dardanelle, Ark., Kelley Honghiran and husband, Thara, of Russellville, Ark., and Blyss Byrd of Anchorage, Alaska; and a number of nieces and nephews. His 22 year old son is being deployed in September of 2008 to Iraq. George was a bailiff in Criminal District Court No. 213, a job he had just started July 12. He had worked at various positions in the Sheriff's Department, including labor details, security and courts. When he wasn't at work, Blake George was an avid fisherman.

Blanche Kennedy George, age 96 of Dardanelle, died July 12, 2002, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born November 21, 1905, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to the late Sam and Lyda White. She was a mother, homemaker, and a member of the Dardanelle Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur William Kennedy, second husband, Earnest George, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Kennedy of Russellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lyda and P. J. Ellis of Little Rock, Jeanie and David Gaddis of Little Rock, Elsie Lee and Paul Turner of Pottsville, Carol Jean and Leroy Thacker of Maumelle, Katherine Kennedy of Jacksonville; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were Monday, July 15, 2002, 10:00 a. m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Thomas McElmurry officiating. Burial was in Brearley Cemetery, Dardanelle. Bonnie Belle George passed away October 27, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born September 21, 1938, in Belleville, Arkansas to William Ervin George and Theora Mae Waters George. Bonnie grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1956. Following graduation she moved with her family to Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Houston, and afterwards began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After retirement from Southwestern Bell, she moved to Rockdale, Texas to be near her sister, Jo Ann. In Rockdale, Bonnie worked five years as a city library employee and volunteered with many organizations. She loved reading and traveling.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bruce Neil George and his wife La Velle; her sister, Jo Ann Martin and her husband Tommy; and a niece Tommie Neil Couch.
Survivors include two nieces, Judy Robertson (Milton) of Conroe, Texas; Patty Golightly (Richard) of Belleville, Arkansas; two cousins, Dona Findley (Ben) of Ozark, Arkansas and Ona Rae Henderson (Dennis) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her life-long friend, Marcella Grimmett of Little Rock, Arkansas and two dear friends from Rockdale, Dora Casas and J. D. Morrison.

Boyce George, 81, of Birta, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. The daughter of Alec and Rilla (Boyce) McCoy, she was born March 20, 1923 in Dardanelle. She married Marlin George, on May 15, 1942 at Birta. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a homemaker. She was a member of the Casa First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Flavel Marlin George; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin George; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Young; one granddaughter, Kathy and her husband, Chad Turner and two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Calee Turner all of Birta.
Funeral was held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Casa with Bro. Don Robinson and Bro. Jack Bean officiating. Boyd O. George; age 91 of Dardanelle died Friday, May 21, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Mr. George was born January 25, 1913 in Dardanelle to the late Hardin and Jimmie Boyd George. He was a Fire Chief for Adams Field in Little Rock during WW II, retired after twenty-three years with Tyson and was also a farmer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nolan George and Venus George, two sisters, Oma Fulton and Blanche Fleming.
Survivors are his wife of sixty-eight years, Mary Johnston George, a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Louise George of Bella Vista, two grandsons and spouses, Steve and Melissa George of Dardanelle, David and Beth George of Vivian, Louisiana, one step-granddaughter, Cindy Smith of Sherman, Texas, six great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Services were May 24, 2004 at Cornwell Chapel, Dardanelle with Rev. Bobby Loyd officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle. Bruce Neil George, age 71, of Belleville, AR. died Monday, February 8, 1999 at his home in Belleville. He was born August 22, 1927 in Belleville, AR. to the late Ervin and Mae Waters George. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a air conditioner and heating specialist and a member of the Baptist Church.

Bruce Neil George, born August 22nd, 1927 in the Belleville community in Yell County to Theora Mae Waters George and William Ervin George. Bruce Neil was fifteen years old when he purchased the farm where he lived and died.
He was very proud of the fact it was part of an original Spanish land grant to Henry George; who is buried here at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery. He lived in Houston, TX for many years, attended the University of Houston, and ran a successful air conditioning business until he retired in 1992 to return to the farm he loves so much. The Belleville community was his home where all the people he went to school and church with either were still here of had returned home. The song, "With My Friends at the Old Country Church, was the story of his life. If he wan t kinfolk he felt he was and called you "cousin." He tried to be a good neighbor and helpful to his fellow man. He became very close to God and loved visiting sick neighbors and shut-ins and even recorded sermons for some who could no longer attend the service.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years and three months, Uldine LaVelle Stone George and a grandson, Justin Clay Couch of Belleville, AR; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Tom Martin and Bonnie Belle George all of Rockdale, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Judylynn and Franklin Dowda, a grandson and wife, James Richard and Shelley Rae Nichols and a great-grandson Chance Henry Nichols, all of Castroville, TX; a grandson and wife, Steven Wayne and Gail Dowda; a great granddaughter, Leah Michlle Dowda all of Saginaw, TX; a daughter Rhonda Lynne Stuart of Hurst, TX; a daughter, Tommie Neil Couch; a grandson, James Clyd Couch, Jr. a granddaughter Christy Devon Butcher; a great-grandson Tristan Wesley Butcher all of Cameron, TX; a grandson, Tracey Butcher of New Caney, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Richard Golightly, twin grandsons, Travis Bruce and Richard Clayton (Clay) Golightly of New Caney, TX.
