Mrs. Violet L. Parks Batson, age 82, of Little Rock, formerly of Dardanelle, died March 1, 1974, at a Little Rock Hospital. She was the widow of former Dardanelle Mayor, Reece Batson. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Little Rock, past President of the Dardanelle Garden Club, past president of the C.W.F. and a former Sunday school teacher of the Dardanelle Christian Church. Mrs Batson was a native of Windson, Missouri, the daughter of the late William Frank and Annie Shipp Parks.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs Annette Pearce of Little Rock; three grandsons Reece M., Patrick R. and Mark S. Pearce of Little Rock; 1 great granddaughter Miss Amanda Gay Pearce of Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Saturday afternoon at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev Frank Clemmons, pastor of Dardanelle United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle. Casket bearers were Warren McGuire. Charles Hunt, Gordon Boles, A.B. Cox, Carl Jaggers, Ed Love, Bob McKenzie and Dana Merrill. Ella Mae Batten, age 83, of Conway, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 2, 2012. She was a resident of Greenbrier Nursing Center. She previously resided in Conway, Paragould and Plainview, Arkansas. Ella was born on May 8, 1929 in Marmaduke, Arkansas, to the late William and Iva Richardson.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Jack Richardson; a sister, Anna Bea White, and a grandson, Travis Vaught.
Survivors are: one sister, Audie Lee White of Paragould; daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Hashman of Harker Heights, Texas; sons: Michael Vaugnt ( Becky) of Conway and Donnie Vaught of Plainview, AR; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Audrey and Louise Richardson of Paragould and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ella was a retired nurse and had been a Foster Grandparent at Faulkner County Day School. Wherever she lived she was always active in the Free Will Baptist church, and she loved studying the Bible. She was a loving, caring person and always brought joy to those around her with her teasing and practical jokes.
Arrangements are being handled by Roller McNutt Funeral home of Conway. In honor of her request, she will be cremated and there will be not memorial service. George T. Battenfield, age 89 of Russellville, AR died Thursday, February 22, 2001, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Elouise Seaman Battenfield.
Survivors include two sisters, Jimmie Sue Battenfield and Mary Joyce Waterman both of Tyler, TX; a brother-in-law, Rev. Frank Seaman of San Antonio, TX and a number of nephews and nieces.
Graveside service was February 24, 2001 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, AR with Rev. Leroy Farnam officiating. Arrangements by Shinn Funeral Service. Michael Ray Battershell, age 51, of Atkins died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born October 28, 1959 at Rogers to Billy Jack and Verlene Mcentire Battershell.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Battershell of Atkins; his children, Billy Jack Battershell of Atkins, Michael Ray Battershell, Jr. of Atkins, Savanna Battershell of Atkins; one brother, Ronnie Battershell and wife Annette of Springdale; one sister, Terri Carr of Springdale; two grandchildren, Trevor Battershell, Briden Battershell both of Atkins and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Camelia Baugh, age 78, of J Casa, AR died Friday, June 4, 1993 at Yell County Nursing Home of Ola, AR. She was the widow of E. E. Baugh Jr. and a member of St. Johns's Catholic Church of Russellville. She was a retired nurse.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Mack and Susan Baugh of Sarasota, FL, Jimmy and Jill Baugh of Dardanelle and Bob and Sandy Baugh of Mendham, N. J. and five grandchildren, Rhett Baugh, Brett Baugh, Brandon Baugh, Courtney Baugh and Matthew Baugh.
Rosary services were held Sunday. Funeral services were June 7 at St. John's Catholic Church by the Rev. David Jacobs and the Rev. Paul Worm. Sandra Gail Baugh, age 48, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Casa, AR died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. She was the daughter of Oleta Baskin of Casa and the late W. D. Baskin, born April 22, 1952 in Little Rock, AR. She was a retired teacher having taught at Houston-Bigelow and Perry-Casa schools. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bob Baugh; a son, Matthew Baugh; a daughter, Courtney Baugh all of Raleigh, NM; a sister, Patti Baskin of Russellville, AR; an aunt and uncle, Lou and Louise Greinke and other family members and many special friends.
Funeral was Monday at the Casa Baptist Church in Casa with Dr. Bill Brown, Dr. Stephen Davis and Rev. Ernest Hardesty officiating. Burial was in Casa Cemetery. Arrangements by Shinn Funeral Service. She was born on November 26, 1947, at Weleetka, Oklahoma to the late Charlie Cecil and Christina Bell Harrill Duncan. She was a retired long haul truck driver for Tyson Foods and a member of the Dardanelle Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Billy Jean, Carlton Lewis, Charles Owen "Bud" Duncan, and Raymond Joe Clendening; 2 sisters, Charlene Harper and Geneva June Conn.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Buddy C. Elvia A. Littlejohn Baunton, age 92, of Ola, AR widow of C. E. Littlejohn, Joseph Shazer and Robert E. Baunton, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ola.

Robert Martin Baunton, 84 of near Ola died at his home last Thursday. He was a native of Seattle, Wash, and had lived in Yell County for the past 18 years. He was a stock farmer and was a member of the Congregationalist church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora MePherson Baunton; a son R. E. Baunton of near Ola; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Newton of Missoula, Mont.; a brother, Harold A. Baunton, and a sister, Mrs. Charlotte De Mars, both of Seattle; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Forrest was known for his great sense of humor, kind spirit and intense love of family.

Dorothy Leona Beach, age 87, of Perryville died January 14, 2002 at Perryville. She was born on February 12, 1914 to late Roy and Mary Ellen (Vanhooser) Brunk. She was married to her husband Frank G. for 62 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Eldon, Missouri. She enjoyed gardening, playing music, crocheting, crafts, and canning. She lived in Eldon for 23 years before moving to Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a son, Frank L. Beach of Los Alamitos, CA; two daughters, Leona Hull of Gardena, CA and Loretta Jones of Hollis, AR; one sister, Rosemary Dillion, of Oregon; 7 grandchildren, Sharon, Jerri, Bill, Jeff, Greg, Melisa, Sally; 13 great grandchildren.

Frank G. Beach, age 88, of Hollis, AR died May 16, 2000 at Hollis, AR. He was born March 20, 1912 in Nebraska to James Beach and Mary Snodgrass. He married Dorothy L. (Brunk) Beach, July 18, 1937 in Kansas City, KS and was a bus driver in Los Angeles, CA. He was a member or the First Assembly of God Church of Eldon, enjoyed trains and collected them and was an avid gardener. He and his wife lived in Eldon for 23 years before moving to Arkansas.
Survivors are, wife, Dorothy Beach of Perryville, AR; a son, Frank L. Sharron Ann Beals, age 56, of Belleville, AR died September 1, 1999 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born July 8, 1943 in Henrietta, OK to the late Walter and Catherine Sneed Tomlinson. She was a certified nursing assistant and a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Pete Tomlinson.
Survivors are one son, Terry Longstreath of Oklahoma; two daughters and son-in-law, Caryl Harshaw of Atkins and Cathy and Phillip Tomlin of Centerville, AR; longtime companion, Keith Savage of Chickalah Mountain, AR; a brother, Clinton Tomlinson of Henryetta, OK; two sisters, Arnitas Ingold and Judy Robertson both of Henryetta, OK and five grandchildren.

Anna "Margaret" Smith Beam, 69, of Danville, AR died Monday, September 17, 2007. She was born February 7, 1938 in Fresno, CA to the late Ethan and Marie Smith. She married Paul Beam on September 19, 1955, and together they raised three sons. She was a medical records transcriptionist for Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR for 11 years. She was also active in Cub Scouts and served as Den Leader for several years. She was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Danville, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethan and Marie Smith, a brother Euell Smith and a brother Willard Smith.
Survivors include her sons, Eric Beam of Dardanelle, AR, and son, Aaron and daughter-in-law Katie Beam of Danville, AR, and a son Jason and daughter-in-law Beverly Beam of Dardanelle, AR; grandchildren Jessica and Dalton Beam of Danville, AR, Ashley and Joshua Beam of Dardanelle, AR; a sister Mary and brother-in-law Bill Gray of Danville, AR, a sister Kathy Copple of Reno, NV, and a sister-in-law Barbara Smith of Auberry, CA.

Fannie Elizabeth Beam, age 100 of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 24, 2003. She was born December 16, 1902 at Enigma, Smith County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Mattie & John Simpson. She moved to the Fir Community, Montgomery County Arkansas in December 1903 and lived there during her childhood. She graduated High School at the Baptist Academy, Mount Ida, Arkansas in 1925.
She was married to Orva Jackson Beam February 15, 1928 which produced four children. The children were born during the depression years of 1930's and she helped financially by farming and teaching. She was educated and taught school in rural schools in Montgomery County and eventually earned a bachelor's degree in 1948 by attending classes in the summer, weekends, and correspondence, all the while she was teaching school and caring for the family. She taught elementary school for approximately 34 years. She was active in professional organizations, including Home Economic Clubs and WMU at her local Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist church at Mount Ida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers and sisters; her husband, Orva Jackson Beam; one son, John E. Beam, and one daughter, Charlene Irwin.
She is survived by one sister, Lucille Housley of Clarksville, Tennessee; one daughter, Pauline Gill of Yakima, Washington and one son, Bill Beam of Mena, Arkansas as well as many grandchildren, great and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday at First Baptist Church in Mount Ida; officiated by Reverend Mark Lashley. Burial was in Little Fir Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville. Ethel Bean, age 93, of Ola passed away with her family and friends by her side Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born May 15, 1919 in Ava, Arkansas to the late David Thorton and Ethel Hardbarger Sims. She was a homemaker a mother and friend to all and a member of the Ola First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Thomas Bean and a sister, Orrie Sims.
Survivors include her children, Walter C. Carter of Ola; Barbara and David Garrett of Rover; Shirley and Ollie Noles of Jessieville; Kay and Loyd Stanley of NLR; special family the Jr. Morrison's family of Rover and a host of family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Ola First Baptist Church with Brother Donald Walker officiating. Burial will be at Nooner Cemetery. George Kenneth Bean, age 54, of Ola died Saturday, July 5, 1986 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a native of Waldron, son of the late George Robert and Eria Wagner Bean, and a member of the Ola Church of Christ. He was employed by the Ola Water and Sewer Department and had served as Ola city marshal for a year.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Bean; a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Dawanda Bean of Somerville, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Don Reynolds of Ola and Georgia and Terry Farmer of Omaha, Neb.; six sisters, Ellen Minnie and Betty Posey of Ola, Georgia Schee of Whelen Springs, Thelma Duncan of Gurdon, Pauline Gibson of Arkadelphia and Joyce Henson of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Christopher, Robin and Amanda Reynolds of Ola, and Crystal Bean of Somerville, Texas, and two cousins, Paul Wagner and Lucille Cooper of Belleville.

Funeral services for Circuit Judge Wiley W. Bean, who died at a Clarksville hospital Sunday, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. Bean, who had a history of heart trouble, died at age 73, less than seven months before he planned to retire from the bench. He was elected to the 5th Judicial Circuit post in 1962, serving Johnson, Pope, Yell, Faulkner and Conway counties. Bean announced several months ago that he would not seek reelection. Bean, born on a farm near Clarksville, began law practice as a claims attorney for the Mississippi Power & Light Company in 1930. He established a private practice at Clarksville and Little Rock in 1939. He served as attorney for the state Labor Department, appeals referee for the Employment Security Division and deputy clerk for the state Supreme Court during World War II. Bean was the deputy prosecuting attorney in the 5th Judicial District from 1948 to 1950. He then served three terms in the Arkansas Senate before returning to his law practice. The judge was appointed in 1961 to fill the unexpired term of the late George Patterson as chancellor in the 9th Judicial District before he was elected circuit judge in 1962. Karen Alana Newton Bean, age 49, of Ola, AR formerly of Clarksville, AR, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Ola. She was a reading recovery teacher at Ola Public School and daughter of the late Frank I. Newton.
She is survived by her husband, Don L. Bean; a son, Matthew Logan Pattermann of the home; a daughter, Alana Nicole Pattermann of the home; her mother, Mary Burch Newton of Hunt; a brother, Jon Newton of Clarksville; a sister, Metta Holman of Clarksville; a grandson, Rocky Gist, Jr. of Ola; an aunt, Ruby Wirth of Fulton, IL; a nephew, Shawn Newton of Clarksville; a niece Amber Holman of Clarksville.

Samuel Donald Bean, age 79, died September 18th, 2017, at St. Mary's Regional Hospital Russellville. He was born June 24th, 1938, to James Edward & Nora Ballard Bean at Onyx. He was retired from Deltic Farm & Timber in Ola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rueben Conway and James Elmer Bean; and sister, Ina Mae White and her husband Harold White and great grandson, Gunner Martin.
