The following is written in loving memory of Mrs. A. D. Adcock Mrs. Allie Adcock, aged 76, died at her home three miles west of Dardanelle on Wednesday afternoon, December 23rd, 1936.
Services were held Thursday afternoon at New Hope Cemetery, being conducted by Rev. J. Moore, of Dover, Pastor of New Hope Church. Mrs Adcock leaves to mourn her departure two sons and three daughters, as follows; Mr. Charley Adcock, Mrs. Flem Roberts and Mrs. Carrie Pratt, of Dardanelle; Mrs. E. J. Robinson, of Perryville, Tex.; Mr. Frank Adcock, of Atkins. Also twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Adcock was converted twenty years ago but never united with the church. She was a Baptist in belief. Dear, sweet soul, she was a true Christian and lived a noble Christian life each day. She would never complain but would always say, "I feel very well." She suffered a great deal but tried not to worry anyone. She was such a jolly, sweet mother smiling all the while and, oh. how we miss that loving smile, her place in the home is vacant; sad and lonely it will always be, for the one we loved so dearly, her welcome smile we shall no more see. A dear one from us is gone, the voice we loved is stilled; there is a vacant place in our hearts which never can be filled. But through all the years we will miss you, for we loved you so dearly, but now, dear, precious mother, camely sleeping while the trees nod and wave, lies the one we loved so dearly in the cold and silent grave. You are gone, dear mother, but your memory will never grow old, for to everyone who knew you your sweet and smiling face will forever be a treasure of pure gold. Written by one who dearly loved her, Mrs. Ina Ross (WWW.YellCountyObits.org,Remembrance typed on a sheet of paper and held with obituary archives, Dardanelle Library, Dardanelle, Arkansas, dated 1936)
