Carl Woodrow Page, 72, died Wednesday, September 25, in a Ft. Smith hospital. He is from Gravelly, Ark. and had been a Coal Miner.

Funeral services were Friday at the Gravelly United Methodist Church and burial at the Parks Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Icie; two sons, George Page and Bob Caviness of Fort Smith, Ark.; three sisters, Faye Gragg of Coal Hill, Ark., Lois Page of Waco, Texas, and Anita Ross of Branch, Ark.; two brothers, Clyde Page of Van Buren and Edward Page of Waco, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Page, Icie Marie (Hunt) Caviness

Icie Marie Caviness Page, 76, of Gravelly, Arkansas died Sunday in her home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gravelly United Methodist Church with burial at Parks Cemetery, Nola, Arkansas.

She is survived by her son Bob Caviness of Fort Smith; six sisters, Alma Benefield of Bluffton, AR, Amy Blankenship of Gould, AR, Eunice Hunnicutt of Rock Wall, Texas, Eula Billingsley, and Irene Gray both of Anderson, IND., Geraldean Wynne of Bartlesville, OK; one brother Jane Aron Hunt of Gravelly, AR; and three grandchildren. Page, Laura Luella

Laura Luella Page, age 77 of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord February 25, 2008. She was a member of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church and a volunteer at Bale Elementary.

She is survived by her daughter, Luella (Paul) Vines of Pine Bluff; three sons, Leon (Peggy) Page of Columbus, Ohio, Curtis (Wanda) Page of Pueblo, Colorado, and Forrest Page of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Leonard Page; her parents, Curt and Laura Woods; brother, Robert Woods; and one granddaughter.

Page, Leonard Odell

Leonard Odell Page, born February 1928 in Belleville, AR to Harrison and Winnie Kiersey Page, died April 6, 2007 at Dardanelle, AR. He was raised in the Ranger area, lived in Tulsa in his teenage years, and then moved to western Kansas at about 16. He worked on a farm in Tribune, KS for Mr. C. L. Curtis. He credits Mr. Curtis for having a great influence in molding his life and work ethics. He later farmed in Oklahoma and Colorado. He returned to Belleville in 1973, where he farmed, raised chickens, did mechanic work, and built and worked on airplanes. For several years he and his children traveled, sang and played country music, as the Page Brothers and Luella. He was a member of the Upper Spring Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Page of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Peggy Page of Ohio; Curtis and Wanda Page, Colorado; Forrest Lynn Page, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Luella and Paul Vines, Arkansas; the mother of his children, Laura Page, Little Rock; step daughters, Diana Grindstaff, OK and Donna Lofthouse, Washington; three brothers, Russell Lee Page, Texas; Ed and Boyce Page, both of Belleville; two sisters, Ernestine Carter, Maryland and Louise Johnson of Ranger, AR and a special friend, Rosemary Page; six grandchildren, James Wolff, Christina Elder, Laura Kent, Stephanie Summit, Justin Page and Jennifer Page; six step-grandchildren, Christopher Grindstaff, Joshua, Kenneth, Douglas Lofthouse, Misty Gudino and Brian Vines; 10 great-grandchildren, Jake Nicks, Raven Dawson, Kerri Joy Elder, Christopher Elder, Vaughn Caleb Kent, Peyton Grace Kent, James, Jonathan, David and Haleigh Wolff and three step great-grandchildren, Jade ana Coby Lofthouse and Mia Jane Gudino.

William Granville Page, age 87, of Belleville died at his home Wednesday, October 17. He had been a merchant at Belleville 30 years. He was Methodist.

Palardy, Mattie V. Carter

Mattie V. Carter Palardy, age 93, a resident of Downey, CA, formerly of Steve, AR, died Thursday, April 1, 1999 at Lakewood Regional Hospital at Lakewood, CA. She was born on March 31, 1906 to William and Nancy Green Crawford.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Palardy of Downey, CA; a daughter, Patricia Talbott of Lee's Summit, MO; several sisters, Bernice Crawford of Blakely, AR, Christine Jefferies and Marie Phillips both of Oklahoma City, OK and Elva Gossage of South Fourche, AR; a brother, Laudell Crawford of Ventura, CA and a granddaughter, Barrie Talbott of Springfield, MO.

Palko, Tom

Tom Palko, 73 of Russellville, died unexpectedly due to a heart attack and stroke on Monday, October 11, 2004, while vacationing in Basel, Switzerland with wife, Hilda. Tom was born September 14, 1931, in Donna, in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, as one of ten children of George and Grace Beth Hollen Palko. He held degrees from University of Texas-Pan American, St. Mary's School of Medical Technology, University of Arkansas and University of Mississippi. He retired in 2002 as professor of Allied Health Services and director of the medical technology and medical assisting program after 34 years on the Arkansas Tech University science faculty, and was subsequently appointed professor emeritus. Until his death, he continued to coauthor textbooks with Hilda and under direct the Arkansas Junior Science and Humanities symposium (JSHS), a program to encourage original scientific research by high school students. He directed Arkansas JSHS for twenty-eight years, served two terms on the national advisory board and had multiple national honors. Throughout his career, he touched thousands of students lives. He was also a long-term member and deacon of Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville.

Family was always his first priority. He was married to Hilda for almost 43 years and had three sons Mark and Carl, both of Los Angeles, CA; and James of Ann Arbor, MI. He remained extremely close to his children and the people in his children's lives, particularly Carl's wife, Linda. Other survivors include an unborn first grandchild; three brothers Bob, Dick and John; three sisters, Mary Fromlath, Margaret Thompson and Orfa Akerman; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service was, Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Central Presbyterian Church by Rev. Ken Kalvesmaki. Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church Building Fund; or to the Arkansas Tech University Foundation Academic Scholarship Fund. Palmer, Grace Cates

Mrs. Grace Cates Palmer, age 92, of Danville died Sunday, October 7, 1984. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Cates of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Branch of Huntington Park, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Viola Beck of Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Palmer, John

John Palmer, age 89, died April 17, 1977 in a Dardanelle hospital. He was a native of Pike County; a resident of Story for the past 13 years and the son of the late Charles and Ellen Hays Palmer. He was a member of the First Delta Church of God at Dumas, a member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge No. 338, a retired farmer, gin operator and carpenter.

Survivors are five daughters; Mrs. Eva Vines of CA., Mrs. Tina Smith of Story, Mrs. Geneva Alves of CA, Mrs. Johnnie Barnes of New Mexico, Mrs. Mary Carchidi of Conn; three step-sons, Victor Palmer of Houston, TX, John and Paul Hunthrop of Pine Bluff; three step-daughters; Mrs. Linnie Reggan of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Dorothy Sharp of CA, Mrs. Alice Beegle of Watson; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Palmer, Thomas Allen

Thomas Allen Palmer, age 57, of Gravelly, AR died Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was born in Mt. Grove, MO on October 7, 1943 son of the late Charles and Effie Palmer.

He is survived by his wife, Alfrita Palmer; three sons, Thomas Allen Palmer, Jr. Charles Fred Palmer of Arizona and Robert Anthony Power of Lake Dallas, TX; four daughters, Kiara K. Mitchell and Linda K. Goodman of Arizona, Terry Denise Drop of Jacksonville, FL and Cassandra Turner of Gravelly, AR; brother, Everett Palmer of Texas; sister, Paula Munson of New Mexico; several grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Palmertree, Dennis Gerald

Dennis Gerald Palmertree, age 71, of Danville, passed away Wednesday February 29, 2012 at the Yell County Nursing Home. He was born June 10, 1940 in Poplar Creek, Mississippi to the late Virgil Lee & Amy Jewell Kennedy Palmertree.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bob & Mervin Palmertree. He always had a story to tell; once he met you, you became part of those stories. His giggle would often make it near in impossible to understand the story, but he would just continue. He is probably sharing stories today with his Mom and Dad and brothers.

Survivors include his children, Ricky & Terri Palmertree of Russellville; George & Kaye Palmertree of Hickman, KY; Virgil & Theresa Palmertree of Waveland. Retta Ann Panas (Retta Ann Tidwell) passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007. Retta was a native of Danville, AR.

Panceroff, James F.

James F. Panceroff, age 79 of Russellville died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical center in Russellville. He was born May 11, 1923 in Warsaw, Poland. He came alone to the United States at the age of five to be with his parents who had come before him to establish a home. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a painter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, June W. Panceroff.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, James F. Jr. Angela Panceroff of Russellville, Larry & Nancy Panceroff of Smyrna, S. Carolina, Scott & Darcy Panceroff of Marino Valley, California; a brother; 3 sisters; 9 grandchildren including, Lisa Edelblute and Lainie Trahan of Russellville; 7 great-grandchildren.

Forrest Panther, Russellville, died Friday, August 12, 2016. Born October 17, 1955, to Kenneth and Dora Panther in Hereford, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Daryl Panther.

Pantier, Dorothy Hembree

Dorothy Hembree Pantier, age 78, of Danville, AR died on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at St. Vincent's Infirmary, Little Rock, AR after a short, but valiant battle with cancer. Dorothy was born August 13, 1923 in Poteau, Leflore County, OK to the late William Ernest and Ora Victoria Hembree. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and businesswoman.

She graduated from Heavener High School, Oklahoma and received her B. S. at the University of Oklahoma in 1943, graduating Summa Cum Laude. A member of the Danville United Methodist Church since 1954, Dorothy's servitude was exemplified in numerous ways. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and a current member of the Administrative Council. Active in local community affairs, Dorothy was a Girl Scout leader, and past president and current member of the West Yell County Cancer Board, known and loved for her organization of local, successful fundraising bake sales which included her popular and delicious cinnamon rolls. Dorothy was an avid golfer, bridge player and a dedicated grower of orchids. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and was devoted to her husband Jim.

Survivors include her husband James Robert Pantier of Danville; three sons, LTC (R) Robert Pantier of Canton, Michigan, Brian Pantier of Rogers, AR, and Mark Pantier of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter and son-in-law, Martha Pantier Tehan and Robert Tehan of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Hank Pantier and wife Mary, Jonathan Pantier, Seth Tehan, Whitney Tehan and Todd Pantier.

Pantier, James Robert

James Robert Pantier, age 83, of Danville, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, June 7, 2004 at home after a long and blessed life. Jim was born June 4, 1921 in Arkansas City, Kansas to the late Guy Robert and Ruby Ely Pantier. He was a stalwart in his family, working ever hard to take care of his family.

He graduated from Mangum high school in Mangum in Mangum, Oklahoma, later moving to Norman, Oklahoma where he attended the University of Oklahoma with a major in accounting. He had to leave OU, three hours short of receiving his degree, since his ROTC group was called to attend the University of Oklahoma with a major in accounting. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army where he was assigned to the 227th Field Artillery Battalion, 29th Infantry Division. Lieutenant Pantier landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy, France during operation Overload in June 1944 and later fought in France and Germany during World War II. He was wounded in June 1944 and again in October 1944, the first by a German tank and the second, after being shot from a church bell tower in Sittard, Germany. He was awarded two purple hearts for his wounds. At the end of World War II, he returned to Heavener, Oklahoma to learn the automobile business from his father-in-law, W. E. Hembree who with him in 1954, bought the Chevrolet dealership in Danville, Arkansas. He retired from Pantier Chevrolet Company in 1985 to the golf course and to the everyday companionship of his devoted wife, Dorothy. A lifelong Methodist and member of the Danville United Methodist Church since 1954, he served as Chairman of the Board of Stewards and was honored with an emeritus membership on the Administrative Council in 2000. He was on the 1965-66 building committee responsible for building the present church. For many years, he was a member of the Danville e Lions Club, the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association and the West Yell County Cancer Board, holding various service positions in each organization.

His greatest joy and deepest love was his wife and lifelong partner Dorothy, having married her on November 21, 1943 and who died on March 12, 2002. His greatest pride was his children whom he loved and for whom he sacrificed to be sure they were taken care of and given life's opportunities.

His survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, LTC (R) Robert and Mary Pantier of Canton, Michigan; Brian Pantier of Rogers, Arkansas; and, Mark Pantier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Martha Pantier Tehan of Edmond, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Hank Pantier and wife Mary; Jonathan Pantier, Seth Tehan, Whitney Tehan, and Todd Pantier; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Pantier.

Funeral services were held June 10, 2004 at the Danville United Methodist Church with David Hawkins officiating. Burial was at the Earl Ladd Cemetery. Pantier, Ruby G. Ely

DANVILLE - Mrs. Ruby G. Ely Pantier, age 82, of Danville died Wednesday, May 15, 1985. She was a native of Ardmore, Okla. daughter of the late John M. and Martha J. Ely, and was an interior decorator.

Survivors include a son, Jim Pantier of Danville; two brothers, John Ely and Howard Ely of Ponca City, Okla. two sisters, Grace Covington of Overland Park, Kan. and Evelynne Nimrod of Ponca City; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Papasan, Alvin

Alvin Papasan, age 83 of Danville, died Monday, August 15, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born April 22, 1922 in Guion, Texas to the late Marvin and Odie Nevada McMillon Papasan. He was a construction inspector for the Arkansas State Highway Department and a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville. He was always athletic and participated in basketball and track at his tiny high school in Ovala, Texas. He won events at the Texas High School State Track Meet in 1937. Because of his size and speed he accepted a full football scholarship to New Mexico A & M. He started at halfback in the first football game he ever saw. His greatest joy in his later years was watching his grandkids play their ballgames. His hobby for many decades was raising registered foxhounds. He and Jo operated Fourche River Kennel as long as he was able. His kennel produced what is considered one of the greatest foxhounds of all time in "Fourche River Rambler". Jo will continue to hold the license to their kennel.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Donnie Eppler and a stepmother, Lucy Papasan.

Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Jo Papasan sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Dorothy Papasan of McAlister, OK, Tommy and Christy Papasan of Danville daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Dale Eppler of Tyler, TX sister and brother, Melba and N.T. Conner of San Angelo, TX nine grandchildren, Gregg Eppler, Brett, Matt, Drew, Billy, Clifton and Carmen Papasan and Stormy Bryant and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Jamie Staley and Rev. John McAnally officiating. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Hall; sister, Beverly Tilmon; husband, Bill LoveJoy; grandparents, John and Myrtle Hancock, Jim and Lottie Hall; and father-in-law, Alvin Papasan.

Mrs. Frances Paradowski, age 33, of West Hampton Beach, Long Island, N. Y. died there March 28. She was a native of Centerville and a member of the Catholic Church.

Linda Jo Payne Parham, age 57, of Danville passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at St. Vincents in Morrilton. She was born August 19, 1959, in Danville, Arkansas to Robert Olen & Etta Vee Laster Payne. Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Danville where she taught Sarah Freeman Sunday School Class. She was a 1977 Danville High School graduate.

She was preceded in death by her father, Olen Payne.

Bertha Marie Parker, age 91, of Delaware died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Delaware. She was born January 13, 1913, in Wild Cat Hollow, Arkansas to the late George and Martha Roulston Bowman. She was a preschool teacher and an assistant director for ARVAC Child Development. She had been a member of the Delaware First Assembly of God Church since 1925.

Parker, Charles Weldon

Charles Weldon Parker, 78, of Verdigris, went to meet his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2009. He died at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 29, 1930, in Yell County, Ark., the son of the late Frank and Lena Parker. He retired in 1993 after 27 years of service as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines in Tulsa. His favorite hobbies were fishing with his friends and gardening. Mr. Parker was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Verdigris.

He is survived by his son, Randy Parker, of Owasso; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Grimes of Verdigris; granddaughter, Jessica Allen of Verdigris; step-grandsons, Andrew Grimes of Owasso; Jonathan Grimes of Verdigris; sister, Era Mae Lawrence of Owasso; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Harold Gillum, of Rover, Ark.; nephews, Rick Lawrence of Tulsa; John Gillum of Benton, Ark.; Danny Gillum of Rover, Ark.; Kenny Gillum of Springdale, Ark.; and niece, Joan Lawrence of Tulsa. Mr.

Parker was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Euel Dean, and his brother, Glyndal.

Funeral Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Scottie Titsworth officiating.
