Rita Diane McConnell, age 43 of Booneville, AR died Saturday, September 12, 1998 at her home in Booneville. She was born in Balls, TX June 26, 1955, daughter of the late V. L. Rennels and Leah Price Rennels of Colcord, OK. She was a mother and homemaker.
Survivors include; her mother, Leah Price Rennels of Colcord, OK; her husband, Darrell McConnell; a son, Cody McConnell and a daughter, Lena McConnell of the home; a step-son, Richard McConnell of Dallas, TX; a step-daughter, Barbara McConnell of Booneville, AR; a brother, Lloyd Rennels of Artesia, NM; three sisters, Pat Rennels of Colcord, OK, Nancy Reynolds of Little Rock, AR and Judy Hix of Lubbock, TX.

Robert "Sugar Babe" McConnell, age 78, of Gravelly died Tuesday, May 14, 1985. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Jones McConnell; a son, Hubert McConnell of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Wilson of Little Rock, and four grandchildren.

Rosie Joan "Kemp" McConnell, 67, of Pencil Bluff, AR died Monday, June 27, 2005, at a Mt. Ida Nursing Home. She was born March 23, 1938 at Haw Creek, AR. She was a member of the Pencil Bluff Baptist Church, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at Munro Shoe Factory before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Allen Kemp and Janie Mae Josephine "Floyd" Kemp her husband, Fred J. McConnell and her brother, Jack Kemp.
She is survived by her children, Fredrick and Bonnie McConnell of Mt. Ida, AR, Ann Sanchez of Cherry Hill, AR, Jeanie and Craig Pate of Board Camp, AR, Lynnie and Bobby Strother of Oden, AR, Heath and Delia McConnell of Mt. Ida, AR two brothers, Levi Kemp of San Angelo, TX, Bill Kemp of Pencil Bluff three sisters, Dorothy Roseberry of New Mexico, Joyce Playford of TN and Willie Mae Helms of Pencil Bluff, AR, ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ruben Cale McConnell, 77, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born March 5, 1931, in the Ard Community near Dardanelle. Rueben was a graduate of Dardanelle High School and the University of Arkansas. He worked for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department for 35 years. At the time of his retirement he was the Resident Engineer in District 8.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudell and Lois Hamlin McConnell.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Crow McConnell; two daughters and husbands, Cindy and Alan Barton of Mustang, OK and Laura and Kerry Chism of Mt. Home, AR; one son and wife, Ken and Stephanie McConnell of Dardanelle; five grandchildren; one brother and four sisters; and 17 nieces and nephews.

A father and his son drowned Friday night when their boat was caught in the swirling water of the Arkansas River just below the Dardanelle dam, and another man drowned while helping in the search for their bodies. Eugene Waller, 57, and his son Noble, 23, of Dardanelle were drowned when their boat was swept into the strong current and overturned while they were trying to start the motor of the boat. Billie Gene Reasoner, Waller's son-in- law, 23 of Dardanelle, was with them in the boat but managed to cling to a piece of wood until he was found by an unidentified man in another boat. Rudell McConnell, 52, also of Dardanelle, a member of a searching party hunting for the Waller bodies, drowned Saturday when the boat he was riding in also overturned in a whirlpool at the dam. Bill Green, who was in the boat with McConnell, swam to safety. The Yell County Mounted Patrol, the Dardanelle and the Russellville Fire Departments Rescue Squads look part in the search for the bodies, which have all been recovered. Eugene Waller, an employee of the Arkansas Power and Light Co. for 20 years was a Mason and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Steven Ray McConnell, age 28, of Russellville, AR died October 21, 2000 at University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born May 23, 1972 in Danville, AR to Barbara Grigsby McConnell Jordon and the late Kenneth Ray McConnell. He was a machinist for Electric Motor Center in Russellville and a member of Rover Baptist Church.

Suvella May McConnell, 91, of Dardanelle died Thursday, August 24, 2009 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born November 14, 1917 at Carden Bottoms to the late James Taylor and Mary Elizabeth Keller Rollans.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Walter and Roger Dale McConnell; and one daughter, Mickey McConnell Denny.

Bennie L. McCool, age 96, of Danville, AR, formerly of Gould, died Tuesday, July 2, 2003 at the Yell County Nursing Home in Ola. She was born June 15, 1907 in Tyro, AR to the late Benjamin F. and Mary Jo Freeman Boren. She was partners with her late husband in the McCool Mercantile and South Bend Farms in Gould and a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, the Order of the Eastern Star in Pine Bluff and the Garden Club in Gould.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. McCool; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Lin D. McCool, granddaughter, Deborah A. McCool, grandson and wife, W. Charles and Karla McCool; great granddaughter, Karlee A. McCool; sister-in-law, Reita M. Mr. Ermon McCorkle, aged 40, died at his home at Centerville at 11 o'cock Sunday night, October 9, 1938. He had been critically ill for about three weeks.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. E Stevenson, were held Monday afternoon, burial being at New Hope Cemetery. Mr. McCorkle was born and reared near Centerville and had spent practically his entire life in this community. He was a World War veteran, an honorable, industrious man, a good farmer and a good citizen, and his untimely death is regretted by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife and three small children, Conroy, Jarland and Bobbie, his mother, Mrs. Nona McCorkle, and three sisters, Mrs. Ira Eidson, of Centerville, and Mrs. Armour Gray and Mrs. Raymond Jones, of Dardanelle, to whom the P-D. extends its deepest sympathy in their bereavement. John Wesley McCorkle, age 82, of Russellville, died Thursday, October 10, 1985, at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, Texas. He was the son of the late Minnie Roberts McCorkle and Felix McCorkle and was a retired factory worker. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Arkansas Sheriffs Association.
Survivors include four nephews, Robert Carroll Ford, Harold B. Ford, Herman Ford and Jerry McCorkle, all of Russellville; three nieces, Mrs. Alice Courtney of Waco, Texas; Ernestine Page of Alexander, and Sally Hibbs of Russellville.
Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Humphrey Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Sanders of Conway. Burial will be in Dacus Cemetery near Dardanelle by Humphrey Funeral Home. Pallbearers Clyde Bunton, Harry Tucker, Lavoid Heath, Jim Hemmer, Donnie Ford, Kenneth Page and Jimmy Hibbs. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p. m. Sunday at Humphrey Funeral Home. Mrs. Nona McCorkle, 88 died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Jones here, Tuesday, following a lengthy illness. She was born at Centerville, and made her home in Yell county all her life. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors other than Mrs. Jones, is another daughter, Mrs. Val Banks; one brother, Alec Hovis, of Centerville, four sisters, Mrs. Otho Mims and Mrs. Will Vandiver of Dardanelle; Mrs. Maude Hudson, Centerville, and Mrs. Blaine Stanley of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren and 14 great grand- children.
Funeral services were at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. Wm. A. Stewart, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Morris Roe, pastor of the Baptist church. Mrs. Addie Mae McCormick, age 87, formerly of Aly, AR went to be with her Lord June 16, 1997 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. She was born on October 12, 1909 to Jake and Ola Morgan. She Vas united in marriage to Cecil p McCormick on December 10, 1927, who preceded her in death March 2, 1970. She was a member of the Aly Concord Baptist Church and was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Yell County. She had made her home with John and Melba Reed of Story for the past few years. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Annie McCormick.
She is survived by her niece, Melba Reed of Story; two great-nieces, Karen Rettmann of Bismarck and Glenda Resert of Malvern; great-great-nieces and nephews, Darren and Dustin Suitor of Bismarck, Kristy Smith of Malvern and Lindsay Rettmann of Arkadelphia; a brother-in-law, Herman D. McCormick of Danville; two step brothers, Glen Phillips of Bismarck and Joe Phillips of Glenrose and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, June 18, 1997 at 2:00 p. m. at the Concord Baptist Church in Aly with Rev. Clarence Shell, Rev. Jessie Reed and Rev. Bernard Rusert officiating. Interment will be in the Aly Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, David McCormick, Michael Dee McCormick, W. A. McCormick, Jerry McCormick, Garry McCormick and Everette E. Mrs. Ella McCormick, age 66, passed from this life on Saturday June 25, 1949 at 4:30 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Standberry.

Herman McCormick, 79, of Danville, died on Oct. 4, 1999 at the Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born and raised in Aly He was a longtime sheriff of Yell County, active in many civic organizations and a past FHA county director. A World War II veteran, he served as a sergeant in the U. S. Army, in the intelligence division, and assisted in breaking the Japanese secret code in the China-Burma India Theatre. He also taught school at Ola for eight years and taught criminal procedures at the University of Ark. in Fayetteville. He co-authored a law enforcement procedure book. Besides being named a lifetime member of the Ark. Sheriffs Assoc. and the Ark. Peace Officers Assoc, he served as president in both organizations. He was a founder and lifetime member of the Yell County Mounted Patrol; a past president of the Danville Lions Club and a 32nd Degree Mason. He served as a deacon in the Danville First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Eugenia Cumbie McCormick and is survived by his wife, Kathryn; three sons, David and his wife, Cheryl and Michael Dee and his wife, Dawn from Dardanelle; W. A. and his wife, Suzanne from Little Rock; five granddaughters, Katie, Mallory, Hannah, Caroline and Natalie and two grandsons, Andrew and Will.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 7th at the Danville First Baptist Church at 10:00 a. m. with Rev. Bob Walker and Rev. Jeff Chetham presiding. Internment will be at Dardanelle Brearley Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Everett Smith, Garry McCormick, Jerry McCormick, Richard Hawthorne, Harrison Reed and O. A. Mabry. Honorary pail bearers will be members of the Bill Castleberry Sunday School class; deacons of First Baptist Church, Nathan Abernathy, Ritchie Mathis and Mike Laurie. James Noble McCormick, age 70, of Aly died early Monday morning, April 10, in the Yell County Hospital after a long illness. Mr. McCormick was a native of Aly, the son of the late Dee and Genia Cumbie McCormick. He was a retired farmer, a member of Aly Concord Baptist Church, a Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge #123. He was married to the late Annie Morgan in 1931 and she preceded him in death in 1940. Mr. McCormick had made his home with his brother and sister-in-law Cecil and Addie McCormick after her death.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Melba McCormick Reed of Story; two brothers, Arless McCormick of Lonsdale, AR and Herman McCormick of Danville; one sister; Mrs. Lela Smith of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Mrs. Glenda Rusert of Oden and Mrs. Karen Suitor of Arkadelphia ; one great-granddaughter, Kristy Rusert, and six nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 12, at the Aly Baptist Church with Rev. Jessie Reed and Rev. Bernard Rusert officiating. Burial and Masonic rites were in the Aly Cemetery. Mrs. Sally Eugenia McCormick, age 78, died at the Yell County Hospital Tuesday, July 22, 1958. She had lived most of her life in Yell County and was a charter member of the Concord Baptist Church.

Clarence McCourt, age 88 of Havana, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was a retired floor installer, an Army WWII Purple Heart Veteran, and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Florene Vaughn McCourt who died on October 6, 2002.
Survivors include a sister, Inas Frame of Havana, several nephews, and nieces.

Florene McCourt, age 84 of Havana, died Sunday, September 6, 2002 at St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Waveland, Arkansas on June 17, 1918 to the late Omar and Delphi James Vaughn. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, M. T. Bradberry, and Eldridge Bradberry, and a sister, Melba Burrows.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Clarence McCourt; a brother, Jimmy Bradberry of CA; two sisters, Melanie Murray of Benton and Erma Faye Denary of CA; many nieces and nephews.

Linda S. McCourt of Havana passed away Friday September 22, 2017. She was a member of the Church of Christ from a young age. She taught elementary school in Texas and Arkansas and retired from chambers Bank in 2009. Linda was born August 17, 1940, in Kress, Texas to O.P. and Grace Lindley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Joe Lindley.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John McCourt of Havana; daughters and son, Denise (David) Gipson of Clinton; Helen McCourt of Oak Point, Texas; David McCourt of Oak Point, Texas; Becca (Aimee) McCourt of Dallas, Texas; brother, Jim (Pat) Lindley of Aurora, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Judy Lindley of Dallas, Texas; Alma McCourt of Havana; Laura Ethel McCourt of Danville; several nieces and nephews and many family and friends.
Services were held at 10 am Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Western Yell County Church of Christ with Bro. Danny Burelson officiating. Burial was at Moores' Chapel Cemetery.
