James, Alexander Christian Thomas

Alexander Christian Thomas James, son of Sarah and Brad James of Prosper, Texas, was born on April 7, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Alexander was very brave and fought hard his whole life to survive, but passed away in the early morning hours of November 18, 2013, in his mommy's arms. During his short time with us, Alexander touched many lives. He loved his family. He had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. He enjoyed listening to music, watching his mobile, chewing on his right hand, and chocolate. He was a precious boy, with an inquisitive spirit, and a firm sense of what he wanted, which typically included getting his bottom patted and trying not to sleep on his left side . He loved bright colors, holding hands, and getting his face kissed. When he felt good, he enjoyed visiting, and always believed it was important to keep an eye on the nurses and doctors who came to his bedside. He took joy in listening to stories and books, watching Bob the Builder cartoons and his aquarium. Alexander worked so hard to get better, and did everything he was supposed to do.

Alexander is survived by his parents and his big brother, William, of Prosper, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Beth and Steve Coger of Danville, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Pat James of Russellville, and Larry Wayne and Nancy James of Bluffton, Arkansas; paternal great-grandmothers, Cebelle James of Danville and Elois Hunnicutt of Wing, Arkansas; uncles Stephen Coger of Seattle, Washington, and Blake James of Magazine, Arkansas; and numerous extended family and friends. We would like to thank the NICU staff of Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas who took extra special care of our sweet baby boy, and us, too.

Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. In honor of Alexander, we will enjoy sunshine and raindrops and the breeze, and kitty cats and puppy dogs, and play and laugh a lot, and hug and kiss a lot, and be curious about everything and taste the sweet things in life. We are so thankful for his sweet spirit. (WWW.YellCountyObits.org,Yell County Record Newspaper, Danville, Arkansas, Obituary was published on Jan 29, 2014)
