No one can affirm that another year, or even a single day will be committed to our trust. How forcibly this was brought to our minds on July 7, 1939, when came the tragic message that Sister Gertie M. Foster had answered the final summons, and was no longer with us. The sad event has thrown a mantle of gloom and sorrow not only upon the members of the Danville Chapter, of which she was a faithful member, and one of the beloved Past Matrons, but the hearts of all with whom she was associated are saddened.
