Albert W. Edmunds, 53, died at the home of his mother in Gravelly April 27. He was a lumberman.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Grace Lee Edmunds of Parks; his mother, Mrs. Lulu Graves Edmunds; two brothers, John of near Russellville and Jim of Arizona; and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Scott and Mrs. Gertrude Riddle of Arizona.

Former Resident Dies of Gunshot An investigation is continuing in the fatal shooting Saturday of Dewane Edmunds, 27, of Route 4, Russellville. Sheriff Otto Brinkman said Edmunds died at his home near Appleton after a .22-caliber rifle bullet entered his chest and lodged in his body. Edmunds lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Edmunds, who were gone on a trip at the time. Brinkman said Mrs. Dorothy Wilson, 35, of Old Hickory was at the Edmunds home at the time the shooting took place, at about 8:30 or 9 p.m. She told the sheriff that Edmunds fired once into a wall and then shot himself.

Anna Charlene Stout Edwards, age 76 of Ft. Smith, died Monday, August 20, 2007, unexpectedly due to a massive stroke. She was born in Briggsville, AR on June 8, 1931, to Charlie Bill and May Tollison Stout. She was a 1951 graduate of Fourche Valley and. a retired waitress.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Ellen, and a brother, Jack.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, daughter, Jody, son, Billy, a granddaughter, two sisters, Dorothy and Joy, and a brother Billy Dave.

Dan Edwards, 61, of Roland, OK, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005 in Fort Smith. He was owner and operator of Edwards Sheet Metal and Ventilation Inc. for 24 years. He was a collector of antique cars and also was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Reda Edwards of the home; a daughter, Tammy and husband Mike Morehart of Roland; son, Terry and wife Rhonda Edwards of Muldrow; sisters, Wanda Jones of Phoenix, Anita Wilson, Sally Kinkley of Columbus, OH, Alice Lansdale of Groton, CT, Carol Marie Allen of Preston, CT; brothers, Dean Edwards of Van Buren, Robert G. Edwards of Dardanelle, Randy Edwards of Valley City, OH and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on March 2, 2005 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment followed at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Dan G. Edwards, age 79, of Danville, AR died Monday, August 30, 1999 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born March 16, 1920 in Merna, NB to the late George and Blanche Lang Edwards. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a cattle farmer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Edwards and a sister, Georgia Faye Beck.
He is survived by his wife, Lavele Schmidt Edwards; three sons, Dan Edwards, Jr. of North Little Rock, AR. Tom Edwards of Springdale, AR and Bill Edwards of Prairie Grove, AR; one daughter, Kathy Young of Conway, AR; two brothers, Harold Edwards of Ogallala, NB and Gerald Edwards of Rialto, CA; two sisters, Genevieve Rourke of Boise, ID and Maxine Dietrich of Meridian, ID; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothea Edwards, age 80, of Athens, GA died February 4, 2002. She was born November 14, 1921 in Yell County, AR. The youngest of six girls born to Nellie Maria McQuivey Barber and Samuel Jethro Barber. The family owned and operated the region's primary newspaper, The Yell County Record. She often said, "She cut her teeth setting type." She graduated in 1939 as Valedictorian of Havana High School and attended the College of the Ozarks from 1939-41. She first entered the teaching profession as the only instructor of 25 students in grades K-9 of Liberty School, a one-room schoolhouse in Logan County, AR. In 1942 in support of the war effort, she trained as an architectural draftsman in Little Rock and was employed at the Jacksonville Munitions Plant. During this time, she met her future husband Mahlon Edwards of Jersey, GA who was in Army training nearby at Camp Robinson. She joined the US Coast Guard, attended Boot Camp at Hunter College, NYC, and was stationed at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, D. C. as an engineering draftsman. Dorothea and Mahlon were married in a military wedding in Silver Spring, MD on Feb. 16, 1944. Following the war, she entered the University of Georgia receiving her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education in 1948 and Master's degree in 1950. She taught at the UGA Demonstration School and the Walton County Veterans Program before joining the UGA faculty of the School of Home Economics (now College of Family and Consumer Sciences). In addition to teaching Household Equipment and Family Relations, she served as Assistant to the Dean with responsibilities for admissions, recruitment, and student counseling. She helped establish the UGA academic study of Gerontology. She served as representative to numerous UGA committees, retiring from UGA in 1984 with 35 years of service. She was a member of honorary societies Phi Upsilon Omicron, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, Golden Key, Gamma Sigma Delta, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She received the Superior Service Award from the UGA Home Economics Alumni Association and the Diwali Award for Outstanding Contributions in Promoting The Spirit of Brotherhood from the UGA Indian Students Association. She was instrumental in forming and served as convening President of the Athens International Council. She served as Past President of the Athens Area Retired Educators Association, and was an active member of A AREA, UGARA, GREA, UGA Woman's Club, WAVES National-Cherokee Rose Unit 139, and National Gerontology Association. She was a former member of the UGA Athletic Board; the Advisory Board of UGA student newspaper, The Red and Black; and other organizations. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Athens and active in the Dorcas-Snow Sunday School Class, Baptist Women-Circle 5, and the Community Ministries Committee. Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mahlon Edwards, and daughter, Susan Catherine Collins.
She is survived by a daughter, Mahla Ann Edwards Swinford of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Charles Michael Swinford, Jr. of Newport News, VA and Christine Natalie Collins of Athens, GA; a sister, Charlotte Head of Chickalah, AR; plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held Friday, February 8 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church in Athens with Dr. Bill Ross officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the Athens Area Retired Educators Association, WAVES National-Cherokee Rose Unit 139, the Dorcas-Snow Class and Circle 5 of First Baptist Church. Family received friends immediately following the service in the Branyon Foyer of the church. Burial was at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery, Walker Park, GA Hwy. 11, Monroe at 4:00 p. m. Mr. Earl Edwards, age 82, of Centerville, AR died Sunday; December 29, 1996 at St. Marys AMI Hospital in Russellville. He was born August 23, 1914 in Rome, GA to the late Ernest and Ema Burk Edwards. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dardanelle, a retired farmer and owner of Edwards Green House.
He is survived by wife, Eva Dell McMullen Edwards of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Jim Sivley of Scottsdale, AR, Janis and Ferrel Minick of Bigelow and Jae and Charles Wilson of No. Little Rock; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bobby Crow Larry Johnson, Delma Merritt, Ronnie Duffield, Robert McMullen and Jimmy Weaver. Eva Dell Edwards, 86, of Centerville, died Friday, August 11, 2006, at Conway Regional Medical Center. Born April 7, 1920, in Ola to the late Robert and Janie M. Keplar McMullen. She was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church and with her late husband, Earl Edwards, owned and operated Edwards Greenhouse in Centerville for more than 20 years. She was known by the florists throughout this area for magnificent poinsettias and at Christmas time the local residents knew which were hers.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Jim Sivley of Scottsdale, AZ, Janis and Ferrel Minick of Bigelow and Jar and Charles Wilson of North Little Rock; a sister, Bobby Harris Hunt of Casa; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kate Edwards, age 93, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. May Isom, at Ola, Wednesday. She was formerly of Nimrod where she had been a member of the Church of Christ for 76 years.

Linda Edwards, age 53, of Dardanelle died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the Dardanelle Hospital. She was born April 11, 1952 in Yell County to the late JL Robison and Nora Prince Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Robison and John Robison and a sister, Nancy McCurry.
Survivors are her husband, Clyde Edwards of Dardanelle, son Randy Moore of Pine Bluff, two brothers, Eddie Robison of Ola and Leon Robison of Oklahoma City.

Myrtle M. Edwards, age 84 of Danville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born May 31,1927 in Lyndon, KS to the late Dulward B. and Clara Ruth Saxton Cunningham.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Cunningham; sisters, Velma Colston and LaVenia Terry; son-in-law, Billy C. Hunt; brothers-in-law, Larry Spencer, Gene Fulk and Verliln Colston.

Robert Gerald "Bob" Edwards was born May 20, 1935, in Van Buren to Rhuel Teal and Blake Marie (Hickey) Edwards, one of 11 siblings. He lost his lengthy, valiant battle for life on December 24, 2011, at age 76. A memorial service and celebration of Bob's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle. A reception follows in the Life Center.

After graduating from Van Buren High School in 1953, he served in the Ready Reserves in California and in Germany as a Specialist Fourth Class in the United States Army, earning the Medal of Good Conduct. Bob married Alma Virginia McKinney on February 3, 1962. The family grew to include children Cleon Nolan, Jeanne Renee and Lori Michelle Edwards. Bob began operating a SunRay DX station in Fort Smith in 1962 which launched a 36-year career serving as division, area and district managers with SunRay DX, South Central Oil Company, Premier Petroleum-Freeway, Mapco/Delta Express and The Williams Companies. Based in North Little Rock, Bob traveled extensively throughout the Southeast region and served on the Arkansas Petroleum Council before his retirement in 1998. Since moving to Dardanelle in 1999, Bob and Virginia were active members of First United Methodist Church where Bob served on the Pastor Parish Relations, Finance and Building committees. The couple earned Master Gardner's Certification, completing projects at the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library, Yell County Courthouse, Dardanelle Post Office and First United Methodist Church. They delivered Meals on Wheels and were active members of TAKAHIK River Valley Hikers. Bob enjoyed fishing, skiing and golfing with his "Over the Hill Gang" buddies. Bob delighted in spending time with his family and being out-of-doors, riding his tractor and tinkering in his shop.
Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Nolan Edwards and wife Dianne of Russellville; daughter, Renee Bennett of Benton; daughter, Lori McCauley and husband David of North Little Rock; grandchildren Eric Bennett, Laura Melton and husband Daniel, Stephanie Lane and husband Jesse, Melissa Edwards, and Blake and Alexis McCauley; and great-grandchildren Kindsay Bennett and Eric Bennett Jr. Bob is also survived by sisters Wanda Jones, Anita Wilson and husband William, Carol Allen and Sally Kinkley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Willis, Dean, Danny and Randy; and sisters, Patsy and Alice. Pallbearers include Vernon Arnold, Dr. David Bachman, Bill Clark, Jim Daly and Dr. Gene B. Ring. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Balloun and Glyndal Roberts. Stella Aleen Alexander Edwards, age 94, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, January 15 at Dardanelle Hospital. The daughter of Louis Claude and Freddie Brown Alexander, she was born February 5, 1908 at Casa, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Ard Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lonnie Ray Edwards; brothers, Wallace, Clyde, Elmer, Emmit, Mack, and Frank Alexander; sisters, Marie Johnson, Inez Merritt, and Lorene Rook, and a grandchild, Phyllis Armour.
Survivors include her son, Lewis Ray "Lum" Edwards and wife, Margaret of Dardanelle; daughters, Ima Jean Johnson and husband, Jerrell of Star City, Arkansas, Ivy Jeanette Armour and husband, Tommy of Racklin, California; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy Violet (Turner) Egger, age 84, of Clinton passed away in her rural Clinton home early Thursday, January 6, 2000. She was born April 22, 1914 near Wing, AR to Marion C. and Maude Lee (Walden) Turner. She and James Russell Egger were married in Rover, AR on May 10, 1935. They lived in various towns in Arkansas until 1958, when the family moved from Mena to Antlers, OK. After her husband passed away in 1968, she and her son, Bob, made their home in Oklahoma City until 1990, at which time they moved to a farm west of Clinton. In addition to being a devoted mother and wife, she had many occupations over the years, including sales clerk, food service worker, Avon sales and clothing manufacturing. During World War II, while her husband was in the U. S. Navy, she worked as a "Rosie The Riveter" with Lockheed Aircraft in California. She was an avid sports fan, and followed the New York Yankees, Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of the Clark United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, one brother, Leo Turner and two sisters, Ina Thomas and Sibyl Linzy.
Survivors include her three children, James E. Egger and wife Carol of Oklahoma City, Robert (Bob) Egger of the home west of Clinton and her daughter, Nancy Smith and husband Bob of Clinton; grandchildren, Jamie L. Foucher and husband Scott of Norman, Brad Lambeth and wife Anngela, Jason Lambeth and wife Karisa all of Clinton, three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Rhett and Grafton Lambeth of Clinton; her brother Fay Turner and wife Juanita of Barling, AR; a sister Verna Tackett of Russellville, AR; sister-in-law Alia Bee Eads and Iva Leach Egger of Mena, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Ira Eidson, aged 62 years, honored and respected citizen and farmer of the Pisgah community, died in a Little Rock Hospital last Friday.
The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Chas. F. Wilkins, of Newport, a former local pastor, was held at New Hope Church Sunday afternoon, being attended by an immense throng of friends who had known and loved Mr. Eidson during his long years of residence in the community. Burial, in charge of the Cornwell Funeral home, was in the beautiful New Hope Cemetery. Mr.
Eidson is survived by his wife; two sons, John Wilson, of Dardanelle, and Thurman, of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Freeman, of Little Rock, and Mrs. William Kinnison, of Dardanelle; and two sisters, Mrs. Riley Abbot, of Kansas City, Kans., and Mrs. Cora Mounts, of Oakland, Calif. J. W. Eidson, a pioneer citizen of Yell County and a man universally respected, died at his home seven miles south of this city Sunday evening, April 29, 1923, and was laid to rest in New Hope Cemetery the following afternoon in the presence of a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends, Rev. T. D.
Frasur conducting the funeral service. Mr. Eidson, who was in his 80th year, drove to Dardanelle Saturday morning. He was apparently in the best of health when he left home, but shortly after arriving in Dardanelle, was taken ill. His son, Roy, was notified and came after him in an automobile. Enroute home, the party was caught in the severe hail storm, but took refuge in the Joe Johnston barn some two miles south of town. After the storm they continued home, Mr. Eidson remaining conscious until the end came the following afternoon. J. W. Eidson was born in Alabama November 15th, 1923 [1823]. At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted in a Texas regiment and served with honor throughout that memorable struggle. He came to Yell County in 1866 and settled near his present home a mile north of Centerville. In 1868 he was united in marriage to Miss Trildy E. Huckaby, who departed this life in 1898. To this union twelve children were born, six of whom survive, as follows: Mrs. Cora E. Mounts, Oakland, Calif.; W. A. Eidson, Texarkana; W. E. No children were born to this union. ... Centerville: Our community was greatly grieved last Monday morning by the news that the venerable J. W. Eidson had died the previous night. He had lived in this vicinity since soon after the close of the Civil war, and was one of our most respected citizens because of his sterling qualities and unvarying constancy in strictly adhering to the principles he espoused. Mr. Eidson was in the 80th year when he was cut down by the grim reaper, death. He was born in Alabama and in early youth removed to Texas. At the outbreak of the Civil war he enlisted in one of the Confederate regiments raised in that state and served faithfully and honorably until the close of the war.

Mildred Eva Eidson, age 86, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center in TCXJIS She was born July 10, 1918 at Ravanna, KS to Earl and Alice VanValkenburg Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Eidson; a daughter, Sherry Gass and two sisters, Thelma Brown and Dorothy Stacy.
Survivors include a son, Mike Eidson of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters, Helen Brown of Russellville and Beverly Stevenson of Harrison; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hannah Mabel Eikleberry, aged 77, of Havana died November 23 in the Yell County Hospital, as the result of a heart condition. She was a native of Cisne, Ill., married J. A. Eikleberry December 14, 1904 at Lake City and had taught school for 37 years before retiring.

Mrs. Margaret Shepherd Eikleberry, age 90, of Dardanelle, AR past away Wednesday, May 3, 2000. She was born January 28, 1910, the daughter of the late Charles and Lula Davis Shepherd. She graduated from Arkansas Tech and married the late Murrell Eikleberry in 1930. She taught third grade for almost 30 years in the Dardanelle School District. She was a member of the Dardanelle Book Club and the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Nancy Popenoe Eikleberry; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Bachman of Dardanelle, AR and Mrs. Roy Stewart of Russellville, AR; six nieces and six nephews.

Thelma Cameron Eikleberry of Paris, AR died September 9, 1997 at Lawton, OK. She was born September 26, 1913 at Monterey, LA to Barney and Regina Cameron. She lost both parents while she was still young and grew up in the home of a cousin, Rosa Carter at Paris.
She married Ardell Eikleberry, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was also preceded by her parents and two brothers, Clarence and Clyde Cameron. Clyde will be remembered by Havana friends as living with their aunt, Mrs. Lois and Dr. Heffinton and attending Havana School. She was the granddaughter of Rush Cameron who homesteaded the land on Mt. Magazine that is now known as Cameron Bluff.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Yamarik of Lawton, OK and a son, Burton Eikleberry of Grant's Pass, OR and five grandchildren.
Funeral service was at the First Baptist Church at Paris by Rev. Tim Prock. Burial was at the Havana Cemetery by Roller Funeral Home. Mr. Jerry Elder, 63, died at his home in Plainview Saturday night. He was a blacksmith at Plainview and was widely known in Yell County.

Joe Ozro Elder, age 66, of Little Rock, a pioneer in FM broadcasting in Arkansas and founder of Audio Productions, the Capitol City's first major recording studio, died Wednesday, September 16, 1987 in a Little Rock hospital. A native of Plainview, He worked as an engineer in television stations in Ft. Worth and Little Rock, a veteran of World War II, an accomplished musician.
He is survived by his wife, DeCeine Pugh Elder; a daughter, Linda Frost of Dallas, TX; a brother, Theo Elder of Fort Smith and a grandson.

Mrs. Glennie Eldridge, age 88 or Birta, AR, widow of Vester Eldridge died Sunday, July 23 at the Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 9,1907 In Birta, AR to the late Milas J. and Effie Tharp Goodson. She was a homemakeer and mother and a member of the Birta Bethleham Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, T.J. and Billy Eldrldge; a daughter, Patsy Jean Eldridge and a sister, Mary Lou Howard. Survivors: two sons, Hugh Eldridge, Birta, AR and Glenn Eldridge of Maumelle, AR; three daughters, Joyce Baskins of Conway, AR, Ann Kiser of Grand Rapid, MI and Sue Martin of Arlington, TX; three sisters, Sybil Storment of Birta, AR, Pauline Franklin of Little Rock and Treva Dell Hacker of Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Jeremy Edward Ellard, age 40, of Searcy, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014. Jeremy was born June 19, 1974 in Booneville, a son to Kenneth Ellard and Marcia Spain Ellard. Jeremy was of the Methodist Faith, and a 1993 graduate of Danville High School. Jeremy spent much of his life time body building, he enjoyed traveling to many places for competitions. He also had his commercial helicopter license and flew for Air Evac and Channel 7 just to name a couple.
Jeremy is survived by his father: Kenneth Ellard and his wife Christine of Bossier City, LA; mother: Marcia Ellard of Morrilton; Brother: Michael Ellard and wife Constance of Omaha, NE; Four Sisters: Stephanie Wherry and husband Mike of Rudy, AR; Ashley Polk and husband Kenneth; Courtney Ellard and Kelsey Ellard all of Bossier City, LA. Mark John Ellars, 64, of Mt. George died June 21 at a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired painting contractor and had lived in New York before moving to Mt. George in 1959. He was a veteran and a member of the Centerville Baptist Church.

He was born January 28, 1920 in Louisville, KY to the late William Carl and Cordelia Wellingham Ellerman. He was retired after 35 years service with the circulation department of the Courier Journal Louisville Times. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during WWII.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Clara Texas Ellerman; his daughter, Diane L. Bagwell and his son-in-law, Harold "Jack" Bagwell all of near Mt. George.
