Durham, Sherman "Sonny"

Sherman "Sonny" Durham, age 83, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was born July 26, 1934, in Plumerville, Arkansas, a son of the late Barney Durham, and Juanita Crochett Durham. He was an auctioneer and of the Baptist faith. He was co-owner/operator of Morrilton Livestock Auction for 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Elder Durham of Morrilton; two daughters, Dana (John) Ellison of Knoxville, Tennessee, Delores (Greg) Fairchild of Maumelle; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Roach of North Little Rock, and Jo Brown of Mentor, Ohio.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, at the Harris Chapel with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Private burial will be at Plumerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Duryea, Dennis H.

Dennis H. Duryea, 92, of Russellville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1918, near Belleville in the Corinth Community, to James and Amma Sanders Duryea. He was an employee of International Shoe Company for almost 30 years, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He grew up as a Lutheran, and attended the Methodist Church and the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Luther Marbury; and a grandson, Bill Bailey.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Lula Duryea; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jeanne Duryea of Atkins, Dennis and Janet Duryea of Russellville, and David and Betty Duryea of Pottsville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Erma Cotton, Janie and Chuck Frankhouse and Judy and Jim Bailey, all of Russellville; a brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Charles and Rita Greenlee of Maumelle, Maggie Findley of Russellville, and Betty Scott of Texas; 13 grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Cotton, Jr., Nikki Cotton Duncan, Dennis Gene Duryea, Mary Ann Parks, Michelle Lea Gilleran, Melissa Gail Belz, Sandi Ratliff, Danny Wade, Sarah Wood, Jimmy Bailey, Jonathan Bailey, Jamie Lee Stafford, and Rhonda Kay Greenfield; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Erwin. Military honors following the service provided by the Rogers-Rye Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2283. Duryea, Lula (Grady)

Lula Grady Duryea, 93, of Russellville, died Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was born August 24, 1920, in Yell County, to Silas E. and Nannie M. Wilson Grady. She was a Baptist, and a former cafeteria manager at Oakland Heights Elementary School. She loved her grandchildren, and loved to crochet and decorate cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Oscar Greenlee; her husband, Dennis H. Duryea; and a grandson, Bill Bailey.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jeanne Duryea of Atkins, Dennis and Janet Duryea of Russellville, and David and Betty Duryea of Pottsville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Erma Cotton of Russellville, Janie and Chuck Frankhouse of Russellville, and Judy and Jim Bailey of Russellville; a brother, Charles Greenlee of Maumelle; two sisters, Betty Scott of San Marcus, Texas, and Helen Findley of Atkins; thirteen grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Cotton, Jr., Nikki Cotton Duncan, Dennis Gene Duryea, Mary Ann Parks, Michelle Lea Gilleran, Melissa Gail Belz, Sandi Ratliff, Danny Wade, Sarah Wood, Jimmy Bailey, Jonathan Bailey, Jamie Lee Stafford and Rhonda Kay Greenfield; 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Central Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery at Belleville, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. DARDANELLE - Mrs. Elvenia M. Dusek, age 88, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, April 24, 1985, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Szabo of New Hyde Park, N. Y.; two brothers, Edward and Victor Wesley of Dardanelle; a granddaughter, Mrs. Frances Spagnoletti of San Antonio, Texas, and two great-granddaughters.

Carroll Lawrence Duvall, age 58, of Atkins, AR, died Saturday, November 29, 1997. He was born March 24, 1939 in Atkins, AR, a son of Alta Ruth Duvall and the late Foster Duvall. He was a retired salesman.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Decowski of Woodbridge, VA; a son, Shawn Carroll Duvall of Russellville; two grandchildren, Vesta Decowski and Emma Decowski of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, Carl V. Duvall, Don Daniel, Rev.

The Rev. Don Daniel DuVall, age 52, of Sallisaw, Okla. a former resident of Pope and Yell counties, died Tuesday, January 10, 1984 at Sallisaw. He was pastor of Oak Ridge Assembly of God Church at Sallisaw, and was a former pastor of First Assembly of God churches at Dardanelle and Atkins.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jo DuVall; a daughter, Kathy Jan Barrett of Atkins; a son, the Rev. Danny DuVall of Atkins; a sister, Mrs. Betty Walters of Russellville, and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m, Thursday at Oak Ridge Assembly of God at Sallisaw by the Rev. E. O. Tackett and the Rev. Tommy Parker and at 2:30 p. m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church here by the Rev. J. B. Lindsey and the Rev. Tommy Parker. Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery at Center Valley by Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Emmett "Doc" DuVall, 70, of Russellville, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born July 6, 1941, at Atkins to Albert and Ima Reed DuVall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlene, and two infant sisters.

James David Duvall, age 41 of Russellville died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home. He was born December 31, 1966 at Frankfurt, Germany to James Monroe and Shirley Westbrook DuVall.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Monroe DuVall.

James M. DuVall, age 60, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was born December 30, 1944 at Atkins to the late Elmer Newton and Mary Elior DuVall. He retired after 30 years as a USDA Inspector, he was also a Real Estate Investor and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Lee DuVall and a sister, Margie Irwin.

Survivors include his companion, Martha Owens of Dardanelle three sons, James David DuVall of Russellville, Donald DuVall of Hector, Michael DuVall of Dardanelle three brothers, Ernest DuVall of Lamar, David DuVall of Atkins, Phillip DuVall of Russellville five sisters, May Ramirez of AZ, Mabel Wiley of Russellville, Linda Harris of Russellville; nine grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Mary Eloise Duvall age 78 of Havana died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. She was born on August 19, 1927 in Sardis, Mississippi to the late B. B. and Lucille Wright Gillespie. She worked as an Aide in Home Health Care.

Club and was very active in many of the local community events and attended First Assembly of God in Searcy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband Bobby Lee Eady on December 6, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her father, Melton Craft and her grandparents, Bessie and Edgar Parks, lifetime residents of Havana and Waveland, AR.

Survivors include her husband, Haydon Eagle; her mother, Jennie Mae Craft of Havana, AR; three sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sheila Gayle Eagle of Havana, AR, Mark Eagle of Paris, AR and Chris Eagle of Belleville, AR; two granddaughters, Robyn and Ashley Eagle both of Havana, AR; a sister, Sondra Cobb of Little Rock, AR and a brother, Eddie Craft of Little Rock, AR.

Mrs. Mary Lou Eakes, age 80, of Dardanelle, died Sunday June 8, 1997 at her home. Mrs. Eakes was born March 19, 1917 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late A. H. and Virginia McKenzie Rutledge. She was a retired insurance underwriter, member of the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle, and a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis C. Eakes.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Virginia and Freddie Young of Dardanelle and Donna and Clyde Little of Russellville; Two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law Brian and Amy Young of Mena and Brent Young of Fayetteville; and three granddaughters and one grandson-in-law Gina Young of Lake Jackson, TX, Laurie and Tom Harris of Fayetteville, and Jessica Little of Fayetteville.

Services were held on Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at 10:00 a. m. at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle, with the Reverend Bob Parsley and the Reverend Milton Cowling. Interment will be in Brearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Pallbearers include Dee McCormick, Tom Harris, and Clyde Little.
