Carol Dawson, age 84, of Arlington, TX, formerly of Ola, AR died Monday, April 14, 2008 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX. The daughter of Henry and Myrtle T. Ivy, she was born December 22, 1923 in Sherman, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dawson and by her parents; three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include two daughters Jennette & Larry Robbins of Farmington, AR, Sarah & David McCarver of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral service was April 18, 2008 at Ola Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Balentine officiating. Burial was at Sandlin Cemetery at Ola, AR under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Etta Pauline Ladd Dawson, age 84, of Plainview, AR died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born July 24, 1922 at South Fourche, AR to the late Jimmy W. Ladd Sr. and Laura Frances Eubanks. She was a homemaker and a member of the Plainview Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was involved in School activities and the life of her family.

She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, John W. Dawson, five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Bob Gamer of Chickalah; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Dawson of Benton, AR and Jerry and Peggy Dawson of Dardanelle, AR; nine grandchildren and spouses; Jerry & Kris Dawson, Steve & Cindy Dawson, Laura & Clint Westlake, Callie, Mattie and Lillie Dawson, Vickie Sutton, Krystal Deal and Jeanie Grigsby; ten great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Gary Lee Dawson, age 64, of Havana passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born April 13, 1952, in Danville, Kentucky to the late Billy Edward & Patsy Lou Carter Dawson. He was an Army Vietnam Veteran and a retired electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Dawson and John Dawson.

Survivors include his wife Claudea Gasser-Dawson; children, Sarah Powell of Havana; Joy Dawson of California; Nicholas Dawson of Indiana; Cody Dawson of Nevada; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Eugene Dawson of Havana; Jerry Timothy Dawson of Centerville; Dan Dawson of Illinois; Mike Dawson of Illinois; sisters, Kim Holtz of Illinois; Brenda Sztuba of Illinois and numerous nephews and nieces.

Dawson, John W.

John W. Dawson, age 82 of Plainview, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born January 6, 1921 in Plainview, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Lillie Dale Dawson. He graduated from Plainview High School and was the secretary for the state FFA his senior year. He retired after 19 years as the maintenance supervisor for the Plainview School District and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Plainview.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil Dawson and Cleo Dawson and two sisters, Ruby Nell Woodruff and Viva Dale Cobb.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Pauline Ladd Dawson; daughter, Helen Westlake of Plainview; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Peggy Dawson of Dardanelle, Mark and Tori Dawson of Little Rock; a brother, Kenneth Dawson of Vancouver, Washington; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services were Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Cornwell Chapel, Danville with Pastor Richard Hall and Joe Harrison officiating. Interment was in Carter Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville. Dawson, Joseph Paynter

Joseph Paynter Dawson, 81, of Ola died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. Born September 12, 1924, in Bloomfield, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John J. and Eva Paynter Dawson. He was a Deacon and a member of the Ola First Baptist Church. He was an Air Force jet pilot instructor. He was active in Gideons, a Lay Minister, a member of the California Handicapped Flyers Association and a member of the Challenge Air Team, on the board of Yell Country Farm Bureau, as well as the Arkansas State Board of Farm Bureau, and on the board of the Arkansas State Water Board.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carol Ivy Dawson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennette and Larry Robbins of Farmington, Sarah and David McCarver of Arlington, TX; brother, John B. Dawson of Juneau, AK; sister, Mary Spencer of Mexico, MO; six grandchildren, Trey, Sarah, Stephanie Robbins and Chris and Lance McCarver, Ann McCarver.

Funeral was Monday, March 6, 2006 at Ola First Baptist with the Reverend Rick Balentine, Reverend Donald Walker, and Reverend Ethan Robinson officiating. Laura Jo "Jodie" Pfeifer Deal, age 38, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at River Valley Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1972 in Memphis, TN to Larry and Diane Pfeifer. She was a graduate of Edmond High School in Edmond, OK and obtained a degree in Psychology from Arkansas Tech University. She spent the last ten years working as a counselor/client advocate.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sheryl Diane Pfeifer; her paternal grandparents, Joe and Tillie Pfeifer; her maternal grandfather, Oliver McNew; uncles, J.B. and Bentley Rollans; cousins, Ray Norton, Seth Norton and Stephen Vaughn.

Bill J. Dean, age 62, of Plainview, AR died Thursday, December 6, 2001 at his son's home in Plainview, AR. He was born January 11, 1939 in Perryville, AR to the late Jethro and Berdie Rorie Dean. He was a forklift driver for Northwest Timber in Plainview and a member of the Hilltop Church of God.

Dean, Chester T.

Services for Chester T. Dean, 77, of Lubbock will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Pat Driskill officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. He died Friday, November 10, 2000, at his residence. He was born October 14, 1923, in Oklahoma and was raised in the Olton and Plainview area. He was an absentee graduate of Dardanelle, Ark., High School due to entering the U.S. Army in 1941. He served in the infantry and received the purple heart as well as other honors. He married Ruthie Parks on November 2, 1947, in Dardanelle. He served in civil service at Reese Air Force Base until his retirement. Following his retirement he owned and operated a lawn care service. He had been a resident of Lubbock since moving from Dardanelle in 1954 and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. A son, Clarence Edward Dean, died in 1962.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles of White Oak and Thomas of Lubbock; two daughters, Nita Ashmore of Midland and Tricia Roark of Lubbock; a brother, Jimmy; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Dean, Jessie

Mr. Jessie Dean age 56 a prominent farmer of Chickalah Mountain died at his home Tuesday morning October 27th with heart failure. Mr. Dean was tending to the hogs, and passed away before they could carry him to the house. He lived a quiet Christian life and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. His life was a good example to live by.

Those left to mourn were, his wife, Mrs. Ida Dean, and three daughters Miss Mary Ellen Dean and Mrs. Emma McCain of this place and Mrs. Flora Young of Holdenville, Oklahoma and three sons, Joseph Dean of this place, Monroe Dean of Corinth, and George Dean of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and a host of friends and relatives.

Dearman, E Luker

Sue Luker Dearman, age 67, of Rover died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Mrs. Dearman was born March 14, 1935 in Arkansas to the late William and Mable Evans Luker. She was a unit secretary, a homemaker and mother and attended the Rover Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Grover C. Dearman II; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Vaughn and David and Carol Dearman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rover C. II and Katherine Dearman of Choctaw, OK; a daughter, Donna Dunsmore of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Lynn Luker of Crescent, OK, Paul Luker of Lusk, Wyoming; a sister, Wilma Taylor of Choctaw, OK; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dearrington, Lillie Christine (Welch)

Lillie Christine Dearrington, 92, passed from this life on February 14, 2012 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Christine was born on April 5, 1919 to Lester and Orpha (Ray) Welch in Havana, Arkansas. She worked as a beautician and at the Radar Institute.

She is the niece of former statesman, Joe Ray who preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her loving husband, Gene Dearrington; son, Bobby "Bear" Dearrington; parents; and brother, James Ray Welch.

She is survived by son, Joel Dearrington and wife, Jeanne; grandchildren, Lance Dearrington and girlfriend, Lisa Gray, Kim Dearrington and wife, Loretta, Kris Dearrington, John Dearrington and wife, Anne and Bobby Dimery; great grandchildren, Paige Dearrington, Noah Dearrington, Brice Dearrington, and Olivia Dearrington, Taylor and Stevie Dimery, Nick Swiger and Nicole Campbell; and former daughter- in-law, Lisa Dearrington Baldridge.

R. E. "Gene" Dearrington, age 85, passed away Sunday, January 10, 1999 in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Madison, AR. February 19, 1913. He was a retired Finish Carpenter and belonged to the Carpenters Local Union No. 943 in Tulsa, OK and had lived in Tulsa since October 28, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Dearrington, three brothers and one half-brother.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Welch Dearrington of the home in Sapulpa, OK; son Joel Gene Dearrington of Jay, OK and son Bobby Lester Dearrington of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
