Burford, Patricia L.

Patricia L. Burford, age 71 of Belleville, died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born July 23, 1930 in Newport, Arkansas. She was the only child of the late Kenneth Fredrick and Gladys Elizabeth McKnight Galloway. She was employed with Farmers Home Administration for 32 years. She retired in 1994. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include a son, Hollis C. Burford of Belleville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and John Molash of Cordova, Tennessee, Amy and Dr. Randy Hightower of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Angela and Jim Timmons of Rogers, Arkansas, Nathaniel W. Hightower of Columbia, Missouri, Ashley K. Hightower, and Kellie P. Hightower of Fayetteville; one great granddaughter, Reagan Elizabeth Timmons of Rogers, AR.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 2:00 p. m. at the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with Reverend Charlie Bird officiating. Burial was in Russell Cemetery in Belleville. Burge, Charles "Ronald"

Charles "Ronald" Burge, age 55 of Morrilton, died Monday, February 16, 2004 at the Hospice Hospital in North Little Rock. He was born in Casa on May 26, 1948, son of the late Lloyd R. and Mattie Harrison Burge. He had served in the United State Army and the Navy.

Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, James L. and Patty Burge of Cabot, Larry Burge of Sherwood and Jack and Gradene Burge of Conway; two sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Brown of Piano, TX, Linda and Harold Beck of Greenwood; a uncle, Quinton Burge of Little Rock; several nephews and nieces.

Burge, Lloyd R.

OLA - Lloyd R. Burge, age 73, of Casa, died Friday, July 5, 1985, in the Yell County Nursing Home at Ola. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Casa Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Harrison Burge of Casa; four sons, James Burge of Cabot, Larry Burge of North Little Rock, Jack Burge of Con way and Ronald Burge of Casa; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Brown of Piano, Texas and Mrs. Linda Beck of Ozark; one brother, Quintin Burge of Little Rock; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Harelson of Atkins.

Burk, Melvin D.

Melvin D. Burk, age 87, of Havana, AR, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Mitchell Nursing Home in Danville, AR. He was born April 13, 1920 in Paducah, TX, to the late James Robert and Georgie Pearl Kemp Burk. He had made his home in Polk County most of his life. He was a Veteran of WWII, member of the VFW and a self-employed mechanic.

He is survived by a daughter, Dianne Stricklin of Havana, AR; two sisters, Marie Gibbons of Cove, AR and Carla Beckwith of Mena, AR; a granddaughter, Lucynda Toon of Hatfield, AR; one niece and five nephews.

Funeral service was July 21 at the Hall Memorial Chapel in Mena with Bro. Donnie Jewell officiating. Burkes, Jack Edward

Jack Edward Burkes, age 85, of Dardanelle, AR. died Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at the Dardanelle Hospital. He was a retired employee of Mobley Construction Co. He was the son of the late Jack Joseph and Stella Hollowoa Burkes, a World War II veteran, member of the American Legion and the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Pearlie Coleman Burkes; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Edward Burkes, Jr. and Glena Burkes of Russellville, AR; three daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Kay and Dale Keen of Las Vegas, Joann Hill and Mary Joyce Cobb of Dardanelle, AR; a brother, James Burkes of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Jeanette Jenkins, Betty Hamilton and Joyce Heflin of Dardanelle, AR; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burkett, Thelma Maurine (Mudd)

Thelma Maurine Mudd Burkett age 74 of Dardanelle died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at St. Vincent health Systems. She was born June 30, 1939 at San Antonio, TX to the late Oscar and Faye Pullin Mudd. She was a home maker and a Christian. She loved working in the yard, growing flowers and raising a garden. Her dogs and her family were the most important things in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, David Herman; one brother-in-law, Jim Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Burkett of Dardanelle; six children, Deborah Cobbs and husband James of Texas, Ray G. Brown and wife Cindy of Texas, Herbert M. Brown of Arkansas, David S. Brown and wife Christina of Connecticut, Karen Herman of Dardanelle, James C. Brown and wife Holly of Connecticut; one sister, Carol Davis of Texas; one brother, Donald Mudd of Texas; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 30, 2014 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation was held Thursday, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the chapel. Burkhead, Alta M.

Mrs. Alta M. Burkhead, age 100, of Russellville died Thursday, October 9, 1986 at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home. She was born April 19, 1886 at Grundy Center, Iowa, the widow of O. Z. Burkhead, and daughter of the late William and Jennie Dunn Stuart of Armstrong, Iowa. She was a charter member of the PEG Chapter in Jerome, Idaho, which organized in 1910, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Zearing, Iowa, and a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Zealous Burkhead.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Wood of Russellville 5nd Mrs. Bernadine Law of Longmont, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Smith of Camp, Texas and Mrs. Ray Ives of Pasadena, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Burkhead, Wayne Zealous

Wayne Zealous Burkhead, age 75, of Houston, Texas, son of Mrs. Alta Burkhead and brother of Mrs. Mildred Wood, both of Russellville, died recently at Houston. He was a certified petroleum geologist, had a long distinguished career in the oil business in Texas, and was a registered engineer for the State of Texas. He served as a captain in the Air Corps in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Burks, Robert Sewall

Robert Sewall Burks, age 63, of Danville, died March 30 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was raised in Shreveport and New Orleans as his dad's jobs changed from Centenary College to LSU Baton Rouge and LSLUNO. Robert met Martha when she moved to New Orleans to get her master's degree. They were next door neighbors. They married in the Danville United Methodist Church 41 years ago on a stormy night. He worked at Russellville Glass Co. for 25 years and owned the Danville Cleaners for 15 years. He was also a builder and built the house he and Martha have lived in almost their whole life. He was excited about the log cabin Martha had dreamed about, which is under construction at this time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar & Margaret Scott Burks, his beautiful daughter Lindsey Margaret, his father and mother-in-law Jack and Joyce Wilson. He was a huge help in caring for Mr. Wilson for 6 months last year. Mr. Wilson always said he was a dandy. Robert loved cooking, collecting recipes, reading, listening to books on cd, and his family. Robert ran the sound system for the Danville United Methodist Church for the past 20 years. He was a humble caretaker of the church.

Robert is survived and will be missed by his wife Martha, his son Wilson and his wife Kyla, his grandchildren Matthew and Kynlee, all of Danville, his brothers Scott of New Orleans and his brother John of Haines, Oregon and his brother-in-law Jack Wilson Jr. of Danville, his beloved Aunt Mildred Lee of Shreveport, also many cousins on the Scott side, Burks side, and Nelson side.

Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Danville United Methodist Church with Bro. Tom Sullinger officiating. Burial was at Earl Ladd cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday before service at the church. Charley Burleson, age 62, of Havana, AR died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, AR. He was the son of the late Johnny Jack and Olar Ward Burleson, born October 16, 1942 in Farmersville, TX. He was a poultry farm manager and a member of the Believers Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Belleville, AR.

Mrs. Allie Burnett, age 85, of Ola died Monday, October 14, 1985, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Walter Burnett, daughter of the late Jake and Margaret Ida Paxton Avey, and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Andrew F. Burnett, age 80, of Fort Smith, AR. died March 18, 1999 in a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Assembly of God Church and did volunteer work for the Salvation Army in Fort Smith.

Burnett, Charles Samuel "Charlie"

Charles Samuel (Charlie) Burnett, age 58, of Mt. George lost his battle with cancer on May 7, 2011. He was born January 23, 1953 at Danville to the late Curtis Samuel and Luna Mae Frost Burnett. He had worked pouring cement for his uncle, Robert Frost and was a mechanic for 16 years at Neeley's Garage in Ola. He worked cows on the Prosperity Ranch for Gilbert Cornwell for over 10 years before starting his fight with cancer.

He is preceded in death by his father, daughter, Penny Jo Rowland and his two favorite uncles, Robert and Cotton Frost.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Irene Rochell Burnett, mother, Luna Mae Burnett of Dardanelle; three sons, Spc. John and Stevie Delbusto of Dardanelle; Brian and Krista Burnett of Mt. George; and Austin Walton of the home; a daughter, Mittie and Odell Freeman of Dover; five grandchildren; one great-grandson and an unborn grandchild; sister, Elvie and Junior Talley of Mt. George and lots of other family and friends.

E. C. Burnett of Waltreak died at his home on Friday, April 2, 1948. He was born December 3, 1880.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mrs. Ida Burnett; one son, Bennie Burnett, of Oregan one daughter, Mrs. Orlean Rose, of Waltreak; two step sons, Lonnie Avery of Ola and Willie Avery of Dardanelle; two step daughters, Sarah Ensey of String Town, Oklahoma and Allie Burnett of Ola; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Jackson of Bluffton.

Mr. Burnett had told his family that he was ready to go. A host of relatives and friends attended the funeral. Rev. DARDANELLE - Elmora C. Burnett, age 78, of Dardanelle died at her home Monday night, February 9, 1987. She was a native of Gravelly, and the daughter of the late Robert and Annie Campbell Caviness. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dardanelle.

Survivors include her husband, Fred C. Burnett of Dardanelle; a son, Fred Burnett Jr. of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Georgianna Tatum of Pine Bluff and Betty Brown of Russellville; a sister, Helen Harris of Waldron, and three grandchildren, Sandy Nichols, Butch Tatum and Rebecca Brown.

Funeral will be at 3 p. m. Wednesday at the Dardanelle United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bonda Moyer. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery of Dardanelle by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle. Burnett, Fannie I.

Fannie I. Burnett, age 82, of Mena, AR, formerly of Ola, AR, died Friday, June 2, 2000 at the Mena Medical Center. She was born October 16, 1917 in Blue Mountain, AR to the late William Brock and Julie Robertson Nunn. She was a retired cook and worked for many years at Mima's Cafe in Ola, AR.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Franklin Burnett and a great-grandson, Dylan Thompson.

She is survived by, one son, Carl Gene Burnett of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters, Ruby May Hawks of Delaware, AR and Patricia Jewell of Vandervoort, AR; two sisters, Ruby Heflin of Magazine, AR and Juanita McDonald of Springdale, AR; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Faye Burnett, 86 of Amarillo passed away March 9, 2014.

Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Second Baptist Church with Wayne Griffin officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home 6969 I-40 East. Faye was born March 18, 1927 in Waveland, Arkansas to Jessie Earl and Martha Ann Blaylock. She was raised in Arkansas. On June 11, 1943 she married Burl Burnett and they moved to Amarillo in 1955. Burl passed away March 24, 1985. Faye went to beauty school and was a beautician here in Amarillo for over 15 years. Her hobbies and interests included fishing, sewing and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress and her gardens were her joy. She grew flowers and also grew vegetables that eventually made their way to the dinner table. Faye was a hard worker and sacrificed a lot for her family. She taught her children to love the Lord, which was an integral part of her family values as a mother. Faye was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Burnett; her parents; 7 siblings and a grandchild.

Faye is survived by her sons, Jim Burnett and wife ElJuanda of Amarillo and Jack Wallace and wife Karen of Amarillo; daughters, Helen Phillips and husband Ronnie of Franklin, Texas and Barbara Hudson and husband Rex of Ovilla, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; also by numerous nieces and nephews.
