Dorothy "Elaine Alsup Brown, 67, formerly of Plumerville passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. She was born on January 9, 1940 to Elizabeth Summers and Richard Anderson in Somerville, TN. She was born into a large family with eight sisters and four brothers.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Elaine leaves behind many loving friends and family, including two sons, Tim Alsup and wife, Paula, of Decatur, Travis Alsup and wife, Liz, of Harrison; a daughter, Nancy Bennett and husband Farrell of Riverside, CA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton from 1:00-2:00 on Wednesday, January 9 with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Dortha Reed Brown, age 84 of Plainview, AR died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was born in Rover, AR on June 12, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Carroll Calloway and Minnie Orrell Gallion. She was a homemaker, and a mother. She was a member of the Plainview Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom Reed and Leonard Brown and a son, T.J. Reed.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, L.J. and Jayne Reed of Mesa, AZ, Albert and Linda Reed of Bigelow, AR a brother, Milus Gallion of Star City, AR a sister, Bertha Glasscock of Conway, AR six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Plainview First Baptist Church with Reverend Monroe Hunt officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Harris Brake. Pallbearers were L.J. Dudley W. Brown, Sr, age 79, of Petit Jean Mountain, died Saturday, April 19, 1986. He was a retired cattle rancher and the son of the late Sam Henry and Cora Addie Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Jimi Oliver Brown, one daughter Cora Jean Brenner of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Former Russellville Editor Dies - Edgar Brown Sr. 58, former publisher of the Russellville Courier-Democrat, died Tuesday of last week from gunshot wounds, at a motel at Texarkana. Brown also had published the Stuttgart paper, and other papers in Southern Arkansas. He was negotiating for the Mt. Ida paper at the time of his death. Elizabeth Brown, age 87, of Dardanelle, AR died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Marys Regional Medical Center. She was born March 8, 1922 at Oklahoma to the late Luther and Mary Britton Reed. She has been a member of the Faith Church since its start 34 years ago.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Brown; son, Donnie Brown; grandson, Seth Miller; son-in-law, Bill EPH Anderson.
Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Anderson of Salem, OR, Betty Holstein of OK, Arlene and Charles Standridge of Dardanelle, Darlene and Mark Myers of Russellville and Marlene and J. M. Graves of Delaware, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Karen Brown of CA; one sister, Catherine Stephens of Washington; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

James A. Brown, 92, of Dover, passed away, Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was born September 8, 1925 in Dover to Calvin Lee Brown and Bertie Daily Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Treva Brown; son, Calvin Brown; two sisters and one brother.

On February 24th, Jerry Brown, 53, of Atkins, Arkansas passed away after a brief illness. Jerry was very patriotic and lived life on his own terms as a free spirit. He loved his family, kids and grandkids dearly. Jerry grew up in Fort Worth racing BMX and motocross and he was the best among his peers. He attended Southwest High School and served in the US Navy. He was a very hard working man. He was very friendly, enjoyed the company of friends, and would carry on engaging conversation with most anyone who interested him. His mother, Nellie, was very special to him and he loved his little brother Tim and sister Julie very much. He was best buddy to son, Alex. As Alex said, "He was my bestest friend and a great father." Jerry loved the Cowboys and Razorbacks. Jerry was a good person and with wife, Nancy he became a wonderful husband and father to Alex. Jerry said Nancy was his angel and God gave them each other. Nancy loves him very much and will miss him.

Jerry Jack "Jay" Brown, 43, of Van Buren passed away on Monday August 4, 2014. He was born January 4, 1971 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
He is preceded in death by his father Jackie Crites, grandparents Buddy and Martha Mae Crites and grandfather Lawrence Brown.
Survivors include his wife Angela Brown of Van Buren, children Starr, Alan, Jacoby, Kayla, Kaiya, Jaden and Emma all of Van Buren, mother Joyce Crites of Plainview, siblings Garry Brown (Deborah) of Plainview, Lori-Anne Blake of Russellville, Angela Hammet of South Carolina and grandmother Lucille Brown of Plainview. FREDONIA, Ariz. - Jessie Rose Brown, age 82, died Monday, May 14, 2007 in St. George, Utah. Born December 20,1924 in Yell County, Arkansas to Sally Parton and William Alonzo Morris. Jessie was the best mother and dad anyone could ever have raising 9 kids, and many strays, basically alone. She collected Elvis Presley memorabilia, always kept a beautiful yard, loved Country Western Music and played the guitar and sang. She and husband Rex established the Border Store. She worked as a bartender at the Buckskin, Corral Bar in Hollbrook, Toga Room at the Empire House, Wahweap, and The Cove, all at Page. Worked at Kaibab Industries for 14 years.
Jessie is survived by her children; Martha Harrington of Big Water, Rose (Marson) Keller of Kanab, Charles (Lori) Clements of Page, Ed (Reina) Clements of Fredonia, Kim (Kim) Marks of Jacksonville, AL, Sam (Tina) Brown of Fredonia, and Edith (Wayne) Wittwer of St. George, Brothers and Sisters; Maria Nell Page of Kanab, Virginia Beatrice Baker of Camp Verde, AZ, Edith (Ora) Holmes of Fredonia, and Jimmy Ted Morris of Humbolt, AZ; 25 Grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Leonard Brown, age 80, of Plainview, AR passed away Thursday, September 7, 2000 at his home in Plainview, AR. He was born December 18, 1919 in Washington, D. C. son of the late Earl and Ora Ellen Byers Brown. He served in the Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He was a retired appliance repairman for RCA.

Lisa Markle Brown, age 39, d Los Angeles, CA, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. She was a 1977 graduate of Edmonds (Wash.) High School and a 1987 graduate of the University of Puget Sound School of Law at Tacoma, WA with a master's degree in special education. She chose to work with children who had special disabilities.

Martha Mitchell Brown, of Roseville, CA, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2002. She was born on July 16, 1921 in Danville, AR to Mattie and Samuel Mitchell, the youngest of seven children. Her first years were spent in Arkansas, moving to So. California at the age of six. Martha worked for the U. S. Treasury, during WWII, met Lieutenant Howard Brown from the Army Corps of Engineers, and married in 1942 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Over the years, she was community minded and was instrumental in developing the Northridge Park, awarded Northridge, Citizen of The Year in 1958 and active in the Credenza Club of the San Fernando Valley Orchestra. Her life also included work in retail, real estate and the travel industry. She moved to Roseville in 1988 where she was a homemaker and a support for her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband Howard, 60 years of marriage this November. Loving mother to Linda and her husband Todd Zucker of San Mateo, CA, Bonnie and her husband Ted Kellogg of Windermere, FL, and Kim Brown of Auburn, CA. She was "Grammy" to Robert and Matthew Kellogg, Brian, Bradley and Molly Zucker. She is also survived by nieces Bettie Lee, Betty Bob and Tiffany and nephew James, as well as many other loving great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all who have been so kind during her illness. Orville W. Brown, age 92, of Dardanelle, AR died Friday, May 14, 2004 at his residence in Dardanelle, AR. He was born June 10, 1912 in Centerville, AR to the late Claud and Gertie Howard Brown. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church for 80 years where he served as Deacon, chairman several times, taught men's Sunday School class, treasurer, and did everything else except president of WMTJ. In 1964, he was chairman of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church Building Committee that build the present Sanctuary at the church, which was one of his most prized accomplishments. In 1955, he was president of the Dardanelle School Board. He served as Dardanelle Fire Chief for 38 years and was instrumental in the establishing of the Rural Fire Department, where he served for over 10 years. In 1967, he was appointed to the First Planning Commission where he served for 17 years. After his many years of public service to the people of Dardanelle, he retired to his workshop where he enjoyed his hobby of woodworking, building clocks and furniture.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Brown and two sisters, Virgie Jordan and Lela Hudlow.
Survivors wife, Ruth Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Wayne McKinney of Tyler, TX; a son, Ken Brown of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Susan Pippin and Mike Lee, Arlington, TX, Carol and Tim Hill Russellville, AR, Amy and Bert Barrett, Adam, Andrew and Aaron Brown of Jonesboro, AR; five great-grandchildren and honorary family members, Gary and Teddy Moore.
Funeral service was May 17, 2004 at the Dardanelle First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Haggard, Rev. Milton Cowling and Rev. Bobby Loyd officiating. Interment was in Brearley Cemetery under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR. Pallbearers were Bobby Crow, Bob Bata, Buster Berryhill, Freddie Young, John Birkhead and Johnny Blackford. Honorary were Bill Payne, Pete & Rachel Tilmon, Frank & Ann Johnson and Selso and Jennie Tovar. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be given in his memory to the Dardanelle First Baptist Church or Arkansas Hospice, Russellville.
