Blakemore, Keith Franklin

Keith Franklin Blakemore, 68 a resident of Norfork, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on August 17, 2013 at his home. He was born January 17, 1945 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the son of Frank Glen and Martha Laura English Blakemore. Keith was a corporal with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission where he served as a Crime Scene Tech and held an advanced degree for the same, taught hunters education for 28 years and boating education for 10 years. He was the past president of the Yell County Wildlife Federation, a lifetime member of the NRA, had served as the Vice-President of the Prairie Grove Jaycees and a scoutmaster in Charlotte, North Carolina. Keith owned and operated Blakemore Sports Shop in Prairie Grove for several years and was the co-owner of JS Boats and custom built many river boats for the rivers he loved - the White River and the North Fork. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and especially loved teaching his grandchildren to fish.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Donna Blakemore; four sons, Scott Blakemore and his wife Julie of Mountain Home, Idaho, Shawn Blakemore and his wife Cindy of Springdale, Arkansas, John Lindley and his wife Mariza of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Greg Lindley and his wife Nicole of Rogers, Arkansas; his mother Martha Blakemore of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Audrey, Bayleigh, Cody, Donovan, Gavin, Kayla, Louis, Madilyn, Manuel, Sam, and Tony; two great grandchildren, Braelin and Coby. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 - 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie Grove First United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove, Arkansas with burial in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Blakeney, Jewel Mctigritt

Mrs. Jewel McTigritt Blakeney, age 88, of Danville, AR died Friday, December 8, 1995 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. She was a native of Bluffton, AR daughter of the late Steven Marlow and Jennie Gilpin McTigritt. She was a retired teacher, postmistress and nurses aides, she was a member of the Danville Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Roy McTigritt and a sister, Elizabeth Robinson Tatum.

Survivors include one daughter, Esther Mayhew of Danville; one sister, Virgie Collins of Keithville, LA; two grandsons, Randy and Jeff Smith of Danville; two great-granddaughters, Sadeirdre Smith and Heather Miles of Danville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 11 at 2:00 p. m. at the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with Dr. J. O. Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville. Blalock, Frank

Frank Blalock, 72, of Dardanelle, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at a residence in Dardanelle. The son of Newt and Ida Rebecca Davis Blalock, he was born November 15, 1936 in Russellville. He was a 1954 graduate of Ola High School. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He and Jean McCoy were married on April 12, 1969 in Russellville. Frank was a traffic service specialist with the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department for 30 years. He was a member and past Post Commander of the Boyce-Woods Post #3141 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Frank also served on the board of directors of Camp Caudle Christian Camp at Scottsville. He was a long time member of Dardanelle Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed camping with his friends and fly fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed gardening and wood working.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kay Roger Blalock.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Blalock, Dardanelle; a stepson, Mike McCoy & wife Sue, Russellville; two stepdaughters, Barbara Dunn & husband Gordon, Russellville, Theresa Smith & husband Larry, Searcy; 5 grandchildren, Dawn Whiting, Russellville, Tiffaney Dunn, Alma, Bridget Hawkins, Little Rock, Matt McCoy, Bella Vista, Kent McCoy, Russellville; 5 great grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Harold Blalock & wife Dean, Plainview, Freddie Blalock, Ola.

Blalock, Freddie

Freddie Blalock, 64, of Ola, AR, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his home in Ola, AR. The son of William and Ida Blalock, he was born November 28, 1946 in Ola, AR. He was a retired lumber grader with Bibler Lumber and worked for the Two Rivers High School in Ola, AR. He was a member of the Ola Methodist Church where he interpreted sermons into sign language for the deaf. He was a role model and a sports enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank Blalock and Kay Roger Blalock.

Survivors include his brother, Harold Blalock and wife Dean of Plainview, AR; his sister-in-law, Jean Blalock of Russellville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Plainview, AR. Tom Mullins and Joe Yates will officiate. Blalock, Harry Franklin

Harry Franklin Blalock, age 58 of Ola died Sunday at his home. He was an insurance agent, a native of Pope County and a Methodist.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauling Seth of Fort Smith and Mrs. Bill McAlister of Russellville; two brothers, Jack Blalock of London and Newt Blalock of Ola; two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Grain and Mrs. Maude Ruble, both of London; and several grandchildren.

Bland, Dennis Dale

Dennis Dale Bland, 64, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale, Texas. He was born March 11, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Dorman Arthur and Ruth Vaughan Bland.

He was preceded in death by his father Dorman Bland and a brother, Michael Bland. Dennis graduated from Russellville High School in 1967 and Arkansas Polytechnic College in 1971. He was a retired Shift Foreman with Texas Utilities / Luminant Energy, retiring in 2005 after 27 years of service. He was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia and Spanish colonial artifacts. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and model trains. He was an outdoorsman and a faithful Arkansas Razorback and Texas Longhorn fan.

Bland, Dorman

Dorman Bland, age 81, of Dardanelle, AR died Sunday, October 3, 1999 at St. Marys Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. He was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel Elizabeth Hatfield Bland, born May 27, 1918 at LaRue, AR. He was a field service technician in the poultry industry, was a United States Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of the Russellville Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, three brothers, Vernon, Belvin and BB Bland and three sisters, Neva Randolph, Gwynetha Cochran and Marie Prophet.

Survivors include, his wife, Ruth Bland; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis Bland of Rockdale, TX and Michael and Mary Jean Bland of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa Bland of Dardanelle, AR and Lea Ann and Jerry Don Woods of Dardanelle, AR; three sisters, Leta Mae Scott of Rogers, Juanita Carter and Belva Axton both of Springdale; four grandchildren, Nikki and Natalie Woods both of Dardanelle and Matt and Sarah Bland both of Fredericksburg, VA.

Bland, Emma Lee

Emma Lee Bland, our beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and Nanny was called home to be with our gracious Lord on October 9, 2002 in Danville, AR. She was born May 15, 1944 in Little Rock, AR to the late Chris and Jewel Gertsch. She was a homemaker, and secretary of their cattle and poultry farm operations for 30 years in the Dutch Creek Community. She was manager of the poultry operation. She and her family were selected Yell County Farm Family of the Year in 1991. She was a faithful member of the Wilson Free Will Baptist Church in Belleville.

She is survived by her husband, Leo Bland; daughter, Sherry Ball; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Kellie Bland, all of Danville; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Terry Rollins of Ft. Smith; daughter, Martha Smith of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Linda Bland of Danville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Gary Lee of Russellville, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jerry Domerese of Danville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; One loving foster brother, John Ginaris. Her loving soul mates, Tommy and Mary Nell Lane of Havana. Several brother and sister-in-laws including Anita Bland and Mary Knight all of Belleville. Many loving friends and the most wonderful loving church family in the world.

Bland, James Ira

Master Sgt. James Ira Bland of Lawton, OK died January 1997 in a local hospital following sudden illness. He was born July 20, 1933 Belleville, AR to Loyd and Lund Denton Bland. He joined the Army July 6, 1953. He married Patricia L. Moody on September 6, 1955 in Clinton, AR. He served in the Vietnam War. His military awards include the Army Occupation Medal, Germany; National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal, six awards; Vietnam Campaign Medal, with 60 device; Air Medal; Overseas Service Bars; Bronze Star Medal; service stripes and Expert Badge with rifle bar (M-16). After retirement from the Army in 1973, he was employed by Milo Gordon until 1984.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lois Lane and Evla Dean Farnsworth.

Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home; two sons Rickey of Kingston and Randy San Diego, CA; a daughter, Laur Seminerio of Lawton; four brothers, Clarence and Fred both of Belleville AR, Leo of Danville and Wayne of Ft. Smith; three sisters, Sue Hoc of Benton, Mary Knight of Belleville and Faye Chapel of Havana; and five grandchildren.

Funeral service was January 27th at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Harley Shirel, pastor of First United Pentecostal Holiness Church officiating. Bland, John M.

John M. Bland, Jr. of Carter Cove, formerly of North Little Rock, took the loving hand of Jesus on October 26, 2004. He was a wonderful son, dad, brother and cousin to his family and was known as "Fishin Pawpaw" to his grandchildren. He was a retired engineer with Union Pacific, he lived at Lake Nimrod and loved hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He was adored by his family and friends. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive engineers, Ducks Unlimited and National Rifle Association.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Melba Jean Bland.

Survivors include a son, John Bland III of Sherwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rusty Roberts of Sherwood; his father, John Bland Sr. of Carter Cove; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Mary Lou Bland of Sherwood; a sister, Donna Stephenson of Sherwood; six grandchildren, Rusty, Tiffany and Tristen Roberts, Seth, Hunter and Cole Bland all of Sherwood; many friends and relatives.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Plainview First Baptist Church, with Rev. Blain Crage and cousin Rev. Tommy Gotcher officiating. Leonard Ira Bland, age 81, of Belleville, AR died Wednesday, April 8, 1998 at Sparks Regional Medical Center at Fort Smith. He was born February 17, 1917 in Perry County to Grant and Susan Black Bland and was a retired wild game fur buyer and truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Rutledge Bland; a son, Lyndell Bland of Fort Smith, AR; two daughters, Joyce Cox of Ohio and Ann Cherry of Greenwood; two stepsons, Allen Oates and Larry Oates both of Oklahoma; a sister, Grace Brewer of Danville, AR; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Susan Bland, aged 82 of Danville died Wednesday, January 24 in her home. She was born in Perry County, but had lived in Yell County for the last 35 years. She was a member of the Danville Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Loyd Bland of Belleville, Lewis Bland of Danville, Leonard Bland of Ft. Smith; one daughter Opal Brewer of Danville; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held here Friday morning for Mrs. Carrie Sims Blankenship, age 80, who died at the Russellville hospital Tuesday, November 22. Services were held in the Dardanelle Church of Christ with Minister. C. V. Langford officiating. Burial was in the Chickalah cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service.

Blankenship, Dovie Levonia Gladden

ROVER - Dovie Levonia Gladden Blankenship, age 92, of Rover, wife of William S. Blankenship, died Monday. (4-1-1991) She was a member of Rover Baptist Church.

Funeral will be at 2 p. m. today at the church. Burial will be in Hunt Chapel Cemetery by Dixon Funeral Home of Danville.

Ima Jean Blankenship, age 88, of Rover departed this life Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born January 28, 1926 in Briggsville, AR to the late Fred & Bertha Faye Bratten Ornsbey. She was a member of the Plainview First Assembly of God Church and loved working in the church. She was a housewife, loved her garden and making quilts for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Blankenship of 63 years; parents; sister Eva Mae Dickens; and brothers, Bob, Johnny Eugene & Riley Fred Ornsbey.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn & Dennis Gardenhire of Wonderview; Lula & Bob Fowler of Rover; sons & daughters-in-law, Bill & Kathy Blankenship of Milton, FL; RL Blankenship of Rover; Leon & Debra Blankenship of Rover; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jo Ornsbey of Rover; sisters & brother-in-law, Ruby Phillips of El Dorado; Martha & Buddy Paine of Russellville; Bonnie Stone of Rover;19 grandchildren,30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim D. Blankenship, age 80, of the Buckville community, died at his home June 10. He was an Adventist.

Blankenship, William Sherman

William Sherman Blankenship, age 91, of Rover, died last Wednesday, July 28, 1984. He was born October 10, 1892 in Punkin Town. Until his death, he was the oldest living member of the Plainview VFW. He fought in World War I. William has lived most of his life in Yell County. He was called to serve his country in World War I in 1913. He was a retired fanner, forest warden, black smith, and a life member of the VFW. He was a member of the Rover Baptist Church. William was married to Dovie Levonia Gladden on December 16, 1917. The couple has eight children.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Orene Blankenship.

Survivors include his wife, Dovie L. Blankenship; his children, Joe Blankenship, John Blankenship, Gracie Holloway, Gene Morrison, and Ethel Reed all of Rover; Arlene Carpenter of Hot Springs and Roy Blankenship of North Little Rock. Twenty-six grand children, thirty-three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Two sisters, Lenora Hunt and Bertha Phillips of Plainview. One brother preceded him in death, James Blankenship of Ola.

Funeral services were Friday, July 20, at 2:00 p. m. at the Rover Baptist Church. Burial was at the Hunt Cemetery at Rover. Bro. Claude Miles, Bro. James Johnson and Bro. Bobby Adams officiated. Agness Nancy Littleton Blaylock, 88, of Benton died October 24, 2009, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. She was born in Yell County on August 27, 1921, to Raymond and Jennie Tapp Littleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Blaylock; her parents; and four sisters. Mrs. Blaylock was a retired homemaker and attended New Summit Church of God in Benton. She loved being outdoors and anything to do with nature including gardening.

She is survived by son, Harold (Linda) Blaylock; daughter, Laverne (Archie) Malone; grandchildren, DeWayne (Karen) Blaylock, Teresa Blaylock, Lorraine (Lance) Hicks, Steve (Mary) Malone and Mike (Lisa) Malone; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren.
